Spiritual exercise through trialsJust as the body needs exercise against resistance to grow strong, God allows the devil to test us so we can resist him and grow strong inwardly.

Obeying your parents and the mousetrap warningThe first temptation is disobedience to parents, which the speaker illustrates with a story of a disobedient mouse that fell into a fatal mousetrap by ignoring warnings.
