Applying self-control to daily habitsJust like ruling out vending machine snacks to gain self-control over appetite, ruling out sin in our daily choices brings God's help.

Under grace, not under lawBecause we are under grace and not under law, God provides the power we need so that sin shall not be master over us.

Our effort shows faith, but God gives victoryOur struggle and labor to resist temptation do not earn success, but they act as the proof of our faith that God will help us.

Finding freedom from disturbing thoughtsGod wants His children freed from being slaves to fearful thoughts, regret, and bitterness, providing His Spirit to transform our hearts.
