Summary
Jesus inaugurated a new way of life in the Spirit, moving beyond the Old Covenant where the Spirit was merely 'upon' people. The key difference is that the Spirit can now dwell *within* the believer, allowing the 'rivers of Living Water' to flow from the innermost being. This new life is achieved through the cleansing power of Jesus' blood, which justifies us, and the indwelling Holy Spirit, which empowers us to keep Christ's commandments.
