Now, Lord, I have come all the way from the distant Babylon into Jerusalem. I have come here only for one purpose to build the wall of Jerusalem. Would not Paul have recognized this spirit? 35:23 He would have definitely recognized the spirit of Nehemiah. This kind of men of God have been our examples. They are forerunners. When our children go in for these essential things in the world, the warriors, they come and capture them. 51:07 We need Deborahs who can have that care for these children. But, on the contrary, he spent. I want to show regarding Esther. I want to tell this to our young people. 52:47 The book of Esther. She was one who feared the Lord. Esther chapter 2. Verse 7. 53:08 He was bringing up Hadassah. That is, Esther, his uncle's daughter. For she had no father or mother. Now, the young lady was beautiful of form and face. And when her father and her mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter. 53:26 Esther was a sister in relation to Mordecai. But, he adopted her as his own daughter. In the fear of God, he brought her up as his own daughter. 53:49 What is important is, or surprising is, that she listened to him and obeyed him. Before the Lord raised up Esther, he tested her in two places. When she was growing up in the house of Mordecai, he kept her, the Lord kept her in subjection to Mordecai as her uncle, and he tested her. 54:22 We read in verse 20, that she listened to his words and followed him. And in other place also, the Lord tested her. He kept, the Lord kept Esther under Haggai, one of the rulers or the officials in the kingdom of Ahasuerus, and he tested her. 54:55 One was Mordecai. For almost 20, 21 years, she was under the control of Mordecai. For one year, under this official, Hegai, in the palace of the king. 55:19 When we look at the palace where Esther stayed, it was like a woman's hostel. We can look at Hegai like the girl's hostel warden. 55:41 For one year, she was under that hostel warden. For 20, 21 years, she was under the rule of Mordecai. She listened to Mordecai and obeyed him. 56:01 For all this 20, 21 years, how she had grown up was. For 21 years, he was a godly uncle. And he said that this is how you should grow up. This is how you should grow up. This is how you should dress up. 56:21 This is not the way to make up. This is not the way to dress up. Anything that she desired was given her to take with her. 58:37 If it was what the girl asked was from Egypt, some kind of a die from Egypt, it would have been brought for her. Whatever she asked was given. Miss India. For six months, she was given myrrh. For six months, she was given myrrh. 58:57 And for six months, she was given spices. And if you look at it, after that, many extras. Many things. What else you want? Whatever you ask, we will be given. Okay, I need a facial bleaching powder, 12 kilos. They spend a lot of money. 1:04:54 The stare, the glare they have in their face. Whether it is the boy or the girl who goes to the beauty parlor. I'll park my two-wheeler in a place in my school. The mirror, the rear view mirror on the two-wheeler would have been, you know, turned this side and that side and it will be so loose now. 1:05:22 They'll come up. They will just, you know, comb their hair like that. Then they would, you know, disturb it. Because there are no mirrors in the school. This is what happened in the room of Esther in that harem. 1:07:17 They were all, you know, all the other girls were so much interested in beautifying themselves so that the king would desire them. But for one year, Esther in that hostel, she didn't spend her time in beautifying herself. 1:07:35 She was in the presence of God. She knew how to fast. She would have knelt down for the people of God. She didn't have any competition. She didn't have a jealousy. She didn't have that, you know, drive that she should be the queen. 1:07:55 She was in the presence in the time when she was in the harem. What was the outcome? We read that in Esther chapter 2. Esther chapter 2. 1:08:15 Chapter 15, I mean verse 15, the later part. We read here that Esther found favour in the eyes of all who saw her. In verse 17, the king loved Esther more than all the women. 1:08:40 And she found favour and kindness with him more than all the virgins. So he set the royal crown on her head and made her the queen instead of Vashti. Beloved, this is a woman who feared the Lord. She is the one who will be praised. 1:09:02 Charm and deceit are vain. Beauty and charm, they are vain. But she is the one who did not request for anything which was not given to her. Why should you not beautify yourself? Because I fear God, I don't want to do that. 1:09:24 I fear God. I don't need these things. I can enjoy all these things if I want to. But it's not profitable for me. I will not enjoy it. Abraham brought up Lot. He made him a man. 1:09:45 He made a business and gave it to Lot. He had the right. Abraham had the right to divide a company. Yeah, a business. Abraham had the right to partition that company. Just to divide the shares. 1:10:06 It's the inheritance that is being divided. He is a man who knew God. He is one who feared God. Even though I have, you know, this right to divide it. I will not do it. You choose it. 1:10:26 I have chosen God. You can choose the earth. This is the man of God, Abraham. This is Esther. This is how Nehemiah. This is how Jesus. This is how Paul. I have the power to enjoy anything I need. 1:10:50 Many years, for many years, many have been asking many questions. Why is it that in your church, you are doing a secular job and then you are serving God? I don't have a word for them. 1:11:12 I don't want to justify myself before them. I can look at the ministry and know what it is. Paul's ministry. Even though I have the power to enjoy. I will not, you know, exercise that authority over you. Beloved, even though this is the life the Lord has given for us, even though we can enjoy thousands of things, we say that no, we will not enjoy it because we fear God and it is not profitable for us. 1:12:03 The Lord will make these people worthy for the new covenant. Adequate for the new covenant. 1:12:24 There was a word there for shepherds and a word for sisters. You know, in the Old Testament, there is a verse I want to read to you in Jeremiah. Jeremiah chapter 3 and verse 13. 1:12:52 This is what the Lord says to his people. Only acknowledge your iniquity. And return. Verse 14. Let me be your master. And the people who respond to that, one from one city and two from a family. 1:13:19 That's what the Lord has done in our midst through these 41 years. He's picked up one from here and one from there. Some people in the family are left behind. Some people in the family are left behind. He just takes out two. 1:13:30 Many others in the city are left behind. He takes out two. And I will bring you to Zion. That's the church. The local church. And how do you know you've come to Zion? There you will find verse 15. Shepherds after my own heart. 1:13:51 It's a tremendous expression. Everyone who serves God's people in a church must seek to be a shepherd after God's own heart. So then we have to study God's heart. God so loved that he took? 1:14:12 No. God so loved that he gave. The devil is always stealing. He's a thief. Man is always selling or taking. God is always giving. That's God's heart. 1:14:34 He's not selling anything. Look at the oxygen you get free. You go to a hospital, you have to pay for oxygen. Look at the water he gives in the river free. You pay the cooperation of water. He's always selling. He wants money. 1:14:50 He wants money. He wants money. And the preachers are selling their sermons for money. It's like that. You can see that that is not the heart of God. What did God sell to you? Preachers sell. They take a salary. 1:15:10 Jesus never took a salary. None of the apostles took a salary. It is all a modern invention. It's like infant baptism. Many have got light on infant baptism in some churches but they haven't got light on salary. Infant baptism and salary and all these things came at the same time and rituals and traditions. 1:15:34 People have got rid of some of the things but some things remain. You want to know whether you'll come to Zion? See if you've got a shepherd after God's own heart. Don't see whether it's connected to CFC or connected with Brother Zach. 1:15:53 No, no, no, no, no. The Jews said we've got Abraham for our father. John the Baptist said forget it. God can raise up children for Abraham from the stones. Not every shepherd in the churches the apostles planted were shepherds after God's own heart. 1:16:13 Do you know who planted the church in Ephesus? Paul. He was there for three years. But see the condition of the elder in Revelation chapter 2. He has no love for Jesus. He's just loving his own honor and the Lord says I'm taking away the anointing from you. 1:16:30 Who planted all those seven churches in Revelation? The apostles. John must have planted some of them. In one church John says there's an elder called Diotrephes. You read that in third letter of John. I appointed him as an elder but he thinks so much of himself now he won't even listen to me. 1:16:50 And if I send somebody he won't accept him. And you know what John said I'll come there and teach him a lesson. John was not going to sit back and say okay let him take over that church. No, no, no, no. You read third John. 1:17:05 He says I'll come there and teach him a lesson. These apostles had authority. They were not afraid of whether people thought he's a hard guy. John's being very hard. I thought he was the apostle of love. The divine love. 1:17:17 The love that sends people to hell. The love that disciplines people with sickness. The love that disciplines people with financial difficulty. That's the love that God has. That's the love that John had. And so shepherds after God's own heart. 1:17:31 And I say if anybody here, I don't only talk about the elders. God's given you a responsibility to care for younger sisters, to younger people. You're a shepherd. Seek to be a shepherd after God's own heart. Study God's heart. 1:17:45 God so loved that he gave. He gave the best. He didn't give stingily. A lot of people who give stingily. There's a beautiful expression in Luke chapter 12. Which says about. Jesus said the verb. 1:18:06 So will it be. Verse 21. For a man who is not rich towards God. Have you heard that expression? Luke 12 and verse 21. Rich towards God. When. 1:18:26 One day the books are opened. And the videotape of your life is played out. Will it be seen. That you were a man, a woman. Was rich towards God. Whatever people thought about you. 1:18:49 Are you trying to give an impression to people that you're rich towards God. Or have you been rich towards God in sacrificing your time. Rich towards God in sacrificing what you earn. Your time and. Your energy. You ever say I'm too tired to serve God. 1:19:14 You say. It's raining. I'm sick. So far to go. I'll never forget. Once I read in the gospel. Of Jesus traveled from Galilee all the way to. Tyre. 1:19:37 70 kilometers. Must have taken him two days walk. There were no chariots walking. And he went there for one. Demon possessed girl. Whose mother. Whose mother. Said please heal. And you're not even an Israelite. Please heal my demon. 1:19:54 And Jesus said I can't give food to the dogs. Just to test her. She said okay. Give me the crumbs. One crumb is enough to heal my daughter. Jesus disciples were with him. And he took the disciples to teach them a lesson on faith. 1:20:11 Woman great is your faith. Your daughter is healed. And I tell you a story. The next morning. Jesus gets up. With his disciples. In the New American Standard Bible. They have added the word. 1:21:43 Merely. You know why? Because it is American Bible. They don't want to offend the American people. Who want to decorate them. But they are honest to say. That's not in the original. In italics means. It's not in the original. 1:21:59 I mean the Holy Spirit didn't put it. But we American translators put it. Otherwise nobody would buy this Bible. But that's one of the few places where the NASB is bad. Otherwise it's generally good. Why do they put that? 1:22:14 Because you use that in America. They'll get upset. You don't want this Bible. Get us another Bible which says. Not merely external. That's better. That means it must be external. Plus in addition. Number two. Some internal also. 1:22:33 That's not the way Holy Spirit wrote it. That's not the way Peter wrote it. Let not your adornment be external. Braiding the hair. Wearing gold jewelry. Putting on expensive clothes. You know you can be a legalist here. 1:22:55 Somebody who wants to wear gold jewelry will say. Brother Zach. It says here you should not put on dresses. Are we to go naked? Okay. I never argue with legalists. Can I tell you? All things are lawful for you. 1:23:15 You want to live at the lawful level? Live! I'd like to see what God accomplishes through your life. The greatest men of God are the people who never lived at the lawful level. They lived at what is profitable. 1:23:39 1 Corinthians 6:12. What is profitable? 1 Corinthians 10:23. Lawful but not edifying. They lived at the level of profitable and edifying. I remember one sister told me. Brother Zach, you are looking at my jewelry. I said no. 1:23:59 I don't look at these things. I don't waste my time looking at people's jewelry. In fact, sometimes I come away from a sister and somebody says they are wearing jewelry. Why? I didn't even notice that. I am not looking for it. 1:24:17 Did she wear a ring? Did she wear a earring or a gold chain? That is not what I am looking for. I am not interested. That is between her and God. So, she said see. She was trying to teach me scripture. Brother Zach, man looks on the outward appearance. 1:24:34 God looks at the heart. Jewelry and all is not important. I said sister, you are 100% right. God is looking at your heart to see why you are wearing this jewelry. 1:24:57 It says 1 Corinthians 10:31. Whatever you do, do for the glory of God. Are you doing it for the glory of God? You can convince God you are wearing this for God's glory. Wear it. I am not here to judge you. It is your choice. 1:25:16 Now parents choose for their children. I hope you will choose what is profitable. Not just what is lawful. You know, there are many ways you can argue around that verse. You can look at the Greek. And look at other translations which are more suited. 1:25:38 It is true. God looks at the heart. He sees the motive. It says in the Bible in 1 Corinthians 4:5. God will reveal the motive. God will reveal the motive. There will be no record in the final day of any sister who wore jewelry or expensive clothes. 1:26:01 Or the way they did their hair.
