Sunday school children can go to Sunday school. Sunday school children can go to Sunday school. 12:04 Sunday school children can go to Sunday school. May we praise the Lord that we can come together and worship the Lord as we sang this morning. And it says in Hebrews 12 that we worship the Lord with reverence, 28, and godly fear. 12:36 And this morning, let's come before the Lord to honor him, reverence him, and come with joy and thankfulness. And it says in 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 17, "Now to the king, eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever." 13:07 So let's lift up our hearts and voices this morning, brothers and sisters, and truly praise him, and honor him, reverence him, and let's worship the Lord this morning. Join with me this morning as we praise the Lord and magnify him. 13:27 Lord, we want to praise you and worship you because you are in our midst, Lord. You are a living Savior. You are a good shepherd, Lord. You are a leader. You are a foreigner, Lord. And you are the king eternal, immortal, invisible, Lord. 13:43 We praise you, Lord. And we truly, Lord, bow before you this morning that you redeemed us and washed us, Lord, and clothed us with your righteousness, Lord. Yes, Lord, we can come boldly before the throne of grace this morning. 13:57 Oh, we bless your name, Lord. Truly, thank you for lifting us, Lord, from sin and shame. Oh, we bless your name, Lord. We honor you this morning. Heavenly Father, dear Lord Jesus. Oh, we bless you, Lord. Yes, Lord. Oh, we honor you, Lord. 14:15 And magnify your name, Lord. Be thou exalted in the midst, Lord. Be thou glorified, Lord. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. Thank you. Delight in our praises, Lord. Thank you, Lord. You delight in your people, Lord. And in the praises of your people, Lord. 14:30 We truly bow before you, Lord. And worship you. And, Lord, thank you for the good work you have done in our midst, Lord. We honor you and praise you. Thank you. Nourished us and cherished us, Lord, with your word. You have been extremely good to us, Lord. 14:49 And this morning, we pray that you will speak to our hearts, Lord. And encourage us and strengthen us and comfort us and build us together, Lord. And we pray, Lord, that you will give us a ear to hear what you are saying, Lord. 15:07 And we pray that you will mightily anoint our brother, Lord. And give us a word from heaven, Lord. And bless each and every one of us here. And we give you all glory, praise, and honor, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen. Please be seated, brothers and sisters. 15:29 We are happy to have Brother Zach with us this morning. And we invite him to minister God's word to us. Brother Zach. Brother Zach. 16:02 Okay. Thank you. Wherever I have gone, I have said that one of the things I have discovered is that Jesus 16:46 Jesus always sacked when he spoke to his disciples. There is one big difference in the new covenant, which I discovered only in the last one year. That in the old covenant, the prophets stood because they were proclaiming a message from God to people. 17:08 Why did Jesus sit every single time he spoke to the disciples? Not most of the times, every single time. I discovered he sat down and I was wondering why he did that. Because I made that study only when I started sitting down myself. 17:25 But I discovered that the reason was, he wanted, the old covenant people were not a family. They were a congregation. They were a congregation. In the new covenant, he wanted a family. The old covenant is like a school where the teachers got up and taught. 17:44 All of you have been in school. Have you ever had a teacher who sat down and taught? No. Every teacher stands up. It is a mark of a school. You have also got families where you sit as a family around the dining table. Does your father ever stand up when he speaks to you? 18:01 No. That is the difference between a school and a family. That is one of the things I discovered. I am not saying it is important whether you stand or sit. But I learnt a principle in the last one year about why Jesus sat and spoke. 18:16 Because he was not teaching a class in a school. He was building a family. And he was like the father sitting at the head of the table with all the people around him. Now you can do that even if you stand. So long as you understand the principle. 18:34 The point is not whether you stand or sit. But I have understood a principle here which I am very thankful to have discovered more. That Jesus in everything he did. He was trying to show that in the new covenant. I am not building a congregation or a school. 18:50 I am building a family. And the church is meant to be a family. See one of the things we discover is that. Most churches very often are like a congregation or a club. A congregation is just like a big group of people who sit in a cinema theatre. 19:14 And watch a performance up in front. Many churches are like that. They go there. In the cinema theatre you have to pay your ticket. In the church you pay your tithe. And you watch a performance up in front by somebody. And then you go home. 19:32 You don't know the people sitting around you in this movie theatre. That is how it is in a big church. And if you belong to a church where you don't know the people. You are not really understood the new covenant at all. 19:43 You come as a visitor. It is like attending a cinema theatre. Or a restaurant. When you go to a restaurant. Do you know all the people there? No. You come to a church. You don't know all the people. You are treating the church like a restaurant. 19:55 And we are not building this church like a restaurant. We are not building this church like a movie theatre. We are building this church like a family. Have you ever been in a family where nobody knows. Where you don't know some of the members of the family. 20:08 Even if the family grows. I think of families that are grandchildren. Great grandchildren. They still know one another. And that is how as our church grows. If it is a family. We get to know one another. We are interested in one another. 20:24 If it is a movie theatre. You don't care for who is there. You come. Enjoy the performance. And go home. And of course in this movie theatre. You don't even have to pay the fees. So it is pretty good. So it is your attitude towards the church. 20:43 Shows your spiritual condition. And if you have been coming to CFC for many years. And you hardly know anybody here. I would question if you have understood ABC. Of the new covenant. ABC. I seriously question that. I mean that. 21:02 See a lot of people come to our church. Visitors and they say. Can I break bread. Breaking bread is the main thing. It is like the prasadam in the temple. We must break bread. Can I break bread. And if they are allowed to break bread. 21:15 They are so happy. And if they are not allowed to break bread one Sunday. Why don't they allow us to break bread. You know in forty years. I have never heard a visitor come here and ask. Can I clean the toilet. Can I sweep the floor. 21:29 Why aren't you interested in sweeping the floor. And cleaning the toilet. Only breaking bread. In bread. You have an understood ABC. Of a family. In your home. Do you sweep the floor. Or do you. Do you believe the toilet. 21:44 You should keep it clean. There are so many things in a family. And I am really burdened that. Our churches. As they grow. Should not become movie theaters. And clubs. We never started like that. We started as a family. 22:01 And I remember the. Wonderful fellowship. We cared for one another. And if we grow. And we become a club. Or a movie theater. I believe we. Grieve. The Lord. Because he never came to earth. To build a congregation. The congregation they had in the old covenant as well. 22:22 And. So I want to share something from Ephesians in chapter 4. Ephesians chapter 4. In this connection. You know it speaks about. Building the. Body. Ephesians is a great. 22:42 Letter. About building the body. Of Christ. Ephesians chapter 4. It says here about. The fact that we must grow up. Ephesians 4:14. We must not be children. We are no longer. To be children. 23:04 Tossed here and there. By waves. Carried about. By every wind of doctrine. By the trickery of men. By craftiness. And deceitful scheming. you know these expressions in this verse are very true in Christianity today the every wind of doctrine and in the 2000 years of church history 23:31 there's never been so many winds of doctrine as there are today and so many people are confused which is the right doctrine winds of doctrine blowing in all directions and it says if you allow yourself to be swayed by them you'll be tossed about 23:55 one doctrine comes this way and you go this way another doctrine comes that way and you go that way especially with the internet the internet has produced such a lot of winds of doctrine we know I know at least two or three people in CFC 24:08 not in our church here but in other places who have gone completely astray because they went into the internet and began to listen to you know eloquent speakers and they had no discernment and they went completely astray and they've gone astray for 20-30 years and messed up their life messed up their marriage just because they did not have discernment and they were young people who would not submit to authority and they thought they knew everything and they're completely astray today they wouldn't accept the authority of any 24:43 so there are winds of doctrine and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever and some of us who think we are very clever in your mind but you are not clever than Satan and I want to tell you this you depend on your cleverness and I guarantee that Satan will trip you up 24:59 and I guarantee that Satan will trip you up the only person whom Satan cannot trip up is the man who is humble because humility is the opposite of Satan because he is full of pride pride is darkness humility is light humility is light and Satan hates light 25:20 knowledge intelligence is not light please remember knowledge and intelligence is not spiritual light it is intellectual light is good for the world when you may be very sharp in the world and very high up in your profession and you can be a target of Satan because you don't have the light of humility 25:43 the only thing Satan fears is a humble man and the humbler he is the more the devil will be scared of him and will run from him why was he so scared of Jesus not because Jesus was clever I believe he was but because he was so humble please remember this in your life if you are the devil far away from you far away from your home far away from your children everything in your life be steeped in humility 26:12 keep your face in the dust keep your face in the dust no matter how much you know the scriptures no matter how spiritual you become no matter how much you are appreciated by others keep your face in the dust I am not preaching what I have not practiced I do that because I want to be preserved scared of me I am not worried that people are not scared of me I want the devil to be scared of me because only then can I accomplish what God wants me to do and I know the devil hates me perhaps more than he hates all of you 26:41 but he is not going to be able to touch me if I keep my face in the dust I know that and I want to give that advice to all of you many of your problems come because you are not steeped in humility these winds of doctrine are blowing my dear brothers and sisters from many directions these days and everything we say in this church is to preserve you in the right path in the midst of all this how can we know which is the truth? 27:09 how can we know which is the truth? For many many years I have found this verse John chapter 8 and verse John chapter 8 and verse 31 and so Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed in Him if you've got to listen to this carefully 27:32 to those who believed in Him if you continue in my word not just if you are born again but if you continue in my word then you are truly disciples the only one the only ones here who are truly disciples are those who are continuing in God's word 27:59 in God's word and then what will happen if you continue in God's word you will first of all become a true disciple then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free so that's the only way to know the truth that's the only way to make sure which doctrine is the right one that is if you continue in the word of God that you have heard and you are disciple means you are a learner and a follower of Jesus 28:13 and then you will know the truth and then you will know the truth and then you will know the truth and then you will know the truth and how will you know that you have known the truth? how can you know whether you have known the truth or not? 28:27 how can you know whether you have known the truth or not? this is what helped me it will make me free I heard so many doctrines from my early days as a Christian I was nineteen and a half when I was converted and I heard many doctrines for many many years 28:36 but I'll tell you honestly I was defeated by sin inwardly even though my external testimony was good I was defeated by sin I was defeated by sin inwardly even though my external testimony was good I was defeated by sin even though my external testimony was good 28:56 then how will you know that you have known the truth? then how will you know that you have known the truth? how can you know whether you have known the truth or not? this is what helped me it will make me free I heard so many doctrines from my early days as a Christian 29:08 the testimony was good I did not have victory in my heart the type of things Jesus spoke about in the Sermon on the Mount you know he said your righteousness must be more than the righteousness of the Pharisees not that we must pray more or fast more 29:27 you know we as human beings always think in terms of quantity more means quantity when Jesus said more he spoke about quality can we re-orient our mind think of more as quality not 29:48 but precious stones your righteousness must be more than the righteousness of the Pharisees means quality if they had it externally you must have it externally plus internally not more but quality and that's what I didn't have 30:08 I prayed I fasted I probably fasted just as much or more than the Pharisees and prayed as much as them studied the Bible as much as them but I was not free I was not free from anger I was not free from dirty thoughts I was not free from being absolutely honest 30:29 where your yes is yes and your no is no the Samnadam out and I discovered that means it took me many years fifteen sixteen years to discover that I don't really know the truth I know the partial truth Jesus died for my sins 30:47 my sins are all forgiven I'm on my way to heaven but the truth that makes you free that particular doctrine that would set me free I did not know and I believe that is the condition of a number of you sitting here if you are honest 31:07 if you have the guts to be honest and to say Lord I'm a hypocrite I still remember the day when the Lord told me asked me if I would stand up in that old church I belong to that Baptist church and get up there and say I'm a hypocrite 31:27 I said yes I couldn't care less what people think of me that's the day the Lord met with me and I never forget it why did the Lord ask me to do that because he wanted to see whether I sought the honor of men whether I wanted to pretend 31:42 I was a hypocrite why not let everybody know I am a hypocrite and the Lord saw I loved the truth about myself and he set me free he set me free I want to say that to you the Lord is no respecter of persons you love the truth about yourself 31:58 always be ruthlessly honest the Lord may not ask you to confess that publicly I had to do it publicly because I was a preacher but you are not a preacher so you may not have to do it publicly 32:18 but be honest before God and say Lord I am a hypocrite I am pretending I am sitting in the midst of New Covenant Church pretending to be understanding the New Covenant and yet I have not known the truth that means you are affected by winds of doctrine 32:32 that make you think of miracles and healings and all do you know that Jesus said many people who do miracles and healings and all the people who do them will go to hell Matthew 7:23 he will say to them depart from me I don't even know you 32:46 I don't care how many miracles you did or how many people you healed there is sin in your life he gives the reason there is sin life in their inner life private life because if it was in their public life nobody would have respected 33:02 you know that nobody would respect you if you got sin in your public life but you can have sin in your private life and do all types of fantastic things for God and the Lord will say I never knew you you got sin in your life 33:16 so please take this seriously there are winds of doctrine today that are very very dangerous and everything that's happening around us indicates that we are approaching the coming of the Lord and we must be ready and our job is to get make sure you're ready for the coming of the Lord 33:33 not entertain you we don't entertain anybody here this is not a movie theater this is not a drama place we want to make sure that people who come here are prepared to meet the Lord when he comes that your family life gets straightened out 33:47 your financial affairs get straightened out and your thought life gets straightened out your private life your areas of your life that nobody knows about are all straightened out that's our goal so turn back to Ephesians 4 34:01 we are talking about the winds of doctrine in verse 14 only a child can be tossed about by wind of doctrine so if you are being tossed about that is the clearest proof you are a child you are not established you don't know is this right is that right 34:19 seems to teach so many other things you know welcome to go wherever you like but I hope you'll be free from sin that's what I that's the only thing I'm concerned about you know sometimes we have people who get offended with the strong word we preach here 34:35 or they think we are too high a standard and they leave I remember one person telling me once brother Zach your standard is too high in your church I can't stay here I said okay there are many other churches you can go there 34:46 and whenever I meet any of them some months later or years later on the street I ask them only one question are you following Jesus? that's all I don't care where you go are you following Jesus? are you living in victory? 35:05 that's fine if you are I don't care which church you go to go to the one that will really help you to follow Jesus and help you to live in victory so I say that because the winds of doctrine are increasing and I want you to be mature 35:22 so there's the trickery of men mentioned here the trickery of men there's a lot of that and you know I've one of the things that have challenged me from my youngest days is the mission biographies of missionaries and 35:42 I want to read to you something that a man whom I admire greatly called William Booth he was the founder of the Salvation Army in the late 1800s he belonged to a Methodist church the Methodist church 36:02 now the Methodist church was a very powerful force in the 1700s John Wesley he was an Anglican an Anglican church was probably good in Luther's day but by the time Wesley came up in the 18th century in the 1700s they would not allow him to preach 36:23 imagine they wouldn't allow John Wesley to preach because they didn't like his strong preaching on holiness they put him out and he would preach out on the streets he preached in the cemetery he once stood on his father's tombstone and preached 36:37 so but as Wesley was a radical man who ride horses and preached till he was late in his 80s I've been tremendously challenged by such men who kept on serving God late into their 80s traveling here and there giving God's word with a passion 36:57 to reach the world for Christ and he died and you know like every movement when the founder dies it gradually declines and 50-60 years later William Booth young man 24 years old was a member of the Methodist church which Wesley had founded 37:17 and he used to go out and bring the drunkards and all the people who were in gross sin to come and sit in the church and the Methodist people who were all a bit dignified people would move away from all these drunkards and 37:33 not sit on the same pew and finally the pastors told him to leave say we don't want you to bring all these fellows here to this church and he was surprised he says the church is a place Jesus welcomes sinners why aren't you welcoming these drunkards 37:47 don't we want them to get saved and so he went out and founded the salvation army and it was very difficult for him in the early days when he founded the salvation army because he wanted to do it you know with a board of people who sit and discuss 38:04 he didn't want to be a one-man leader he said I want to in the multitude of counselors the safety so he gradually he got together a few people who had the same burden and tried to form it but he found you know what he found 38:17 nothing moved these board meetings and decisions went on for weeks and weeks and weeks and the poor people were suffering he finally got up in one board meeting and says I am scrapping this board you fellows are doing nothing 38:31 today onwards I am just going to decide what I am going to do and that was the beginning of the salvation army that salvation army would have died if he had allowed that board to run it he ran it because he had a vision 38:43 very often I found this God's work is done by one or two people who have a vision no it is not run by a board deciding shall we do this shall we do that because they will never come to a decision because they don't have the passion 39:00 they don't have a burden so William Booth had this burden which never died and he had a wife who was exactly like him with a tremendous passion together they sacrificed and suffered and brought so many people to Christ and helped the poor 39:15 when he was an old man he was 83 years old when he died and he saw that there was still so many poor people you know in those days in England they would they would tell young girls poor village girls to come to the city to work as a housemaid 39:32 and they came there they would be they wouldn't go as housemaids somebody would you know it was sex slavery they would take them to the brothels and make them prostitutes and William Booth would expose them and published in the papers 39:48 and they got mad with him and there were little children small children made to work in the factories it was the days of the industrial revolution made made to work so hard late hours and give very little food living in small little huts 40:04 worse than huts and he really went out to help these people you should read about this man William Booth these are the biographies that challenged me when I was a young man in my twenties and I was working in the Navy and I said 40:20 Lord what am I what am I doing with my life look at these people they accomplished something for you in their life and here I am just going to meetings on Sundays and listening to messages singing songs what am I accomplishing for you with my life 40:34 I want to do something for you and I said that to the Lord in my early twenties I hope you young people will read some of these biographies of these godly men and missionaries and that you will be challenged to do something with your life 40:49 do you know that almost every man whom God has ever used in history was called to salvation before they were 30 years old it is very rare that a man who is 40 or 50 who gets converted ever accomplishes anything much for God 41:03 he goes to heaven his sins are forgiven he goes to heaven he can sing all his life my sins are all forgiven I am going to heaven but if you are not gripped by the truth of God before you are 30 I want to say there is not much hope 41:16 that you will ever accomplish anything for God in your life you will just drift along and somehow enter heaven perhaps I hope so I don't know but I am thinking of a number of young people here I hope I hope you will be gripped 41:33 and challenged to do something with your life for Jesus Christ before he comes again everything will pass away believe it or not it will if I were living in Noah's time I would have spent all my time building the ark you need to understand this 41:49 don't waste your life so this man look at the passion he was sixty years after he began to reach out for the lost he says this when he was 83 while women weep as they do now I'll fight while little children go hungry 42:09 as they do now I'll fight while men go to prison in and out you know very often with false charges because they were poor as they do now I'll fight while there is a drunkard left while there is a poor lost girl wandering on the street 42:27 while there remains one dark soul without the light of God here I'll fight I'll fight to the very end I wonder if you can get the passion of that I read things like that and I say Lord that's the way I want to be even if I'm 83 42:44 that's the way I want to be as long as I see pastors exploring poor believers and swindling their money and these television nobody else exposes them as long as there are people who are leading people astray and allowing people to live 43:03 defeated lives all their life and dishonoring Christ I'm gonna fight I hope some of you have the same passion or will develop that passion because there's a great need for that and it doesn't matter if we grow old and weak 43:19 William Booth is a very old weak man by the time he got old but he there was a spirit in him which was more the battling the devil than a lot of the young people who were in his group and I want to challenge all the young people 43:35 and all of you brothers who've been here for many years I hope you'll have this Jesus came to fight he said I will build my church and the gates of hell will not overcome in that fight it is a battle Jesus spoke about a battle 43:51 he didn't say the church will have a picnic a picnic will come when we go to heaven here on earth it's a battle and I want to say to you that every person who is a part of CSE must be a soldier man or woman child or grown up 44:07 you must be a soldier for Christ very important because the trickery of men it says here in verse 14 Ephesians 4 and their craftiness and their deceitful scheming these things are all not new I see all these things mentioned here 44:22 wind of doctrine the trickery of men where they say all types of things in order to get your money and get you to listen to them where do you find godly men here today who are not interested in your money and who are not interested in controlling your life 44:39 but who will give you advice but give you freedom to be connected to the Lord this is the trickery of men nowadays and their deceitful scheming and but in contrast to that it says speaking the truth in love I want to be in a church 44:58 where I hear the truth spoken in love and I pray that God will give me grace till the end of my life however long that is to speak the truth always in love whatever the cost whoever gets offended whoever goes away doesn't matter 45:13 whoever calls me a heretic false teacher I don't care for that I've heard that long enough speaking the truth in love wherever you go if you belong to a church belong to a church where they speak the truth to you in love 45:29 and speaking the truth in love it says here we grow up in all aspects unto the head who is Christ not just one area to grow up in every way just like a little child you have a little baby and you know the hands grow and the legs grow 45:47 and the ears eyes everything every part of their body grows and that's how we must grow in Christ each of us in every area not just one single area everything I see in Jesus and the only way to know that is by meditating on the Gospels 46:02 and seeing how Jesus was in his earthly life and making your lifetime study the earthly life of Jesus Christ the Bible says let us run the race looking unto Jesus who despised the shame 46:24 endured the cross and he sat down at the right hand of God there are two pictures of Jesus one on earth his attitude towards God he endured the cross for the shame that people put on him and then we look at Jesus at the right hand of the Father 46:43 the throne of God so looking unto him we run this race I want to encourage you to grow up in all aspects unto him very often we are imbalanced we need to grow up we need to grow up in praise thanksgiving we need to grow up to be worshippers 47:04 who fall before God frequently and say Lord Jesus I don't desire anything on this earth but you I don't desire anyone on earth but you when I get to heaven I don't care for anything there but you to live in that fervent 47:23 devotion to Christ every single day of our life that's the only way it's worth living on this earth and when we grow up like this you see the test of true holiness and true spiritual growth is that I can have fellowship 47:44 with other people who have a similar desire and I believe there are a number of people here in our church who have a similar desire to grow up in all aspects unto Christ and who want to know the truth that sets them free 47:57 and if you can't have fellowship with them your holiness is a counterfeit it's painted gold it's not real gold if it's real gold it will always bring you into fellowship I've seen people who have come here just for one or two years 48:17 and come into such wonderful fellowship with other brothers young brothers who within one or two years have got integrated with the other young brothers and meeting on their own sometimes with them to share together and to pray together 48:32 and then I've seen other people who have come here for 15 years never integrated their holiness is a counterfeit they come to listen to messages to have their ears tickled they don't want to become a body because it says here 48:49 if he grew up to the head who is Christ verse 16 from him the whole body is fitted and held together by what every joint supplies according to the proper working of each individual part causes the growth of the whole body 49:06 for the building up of itself in love that's an amazing passage there in verse 16 and I believe that's a healthy check a holiness that does not lead to fellowship is a counterfeit say that to yourself until you believe it 49:22 say it to yourself again and again a holiness that I think I have which does not lead me into fellowship with other like-minded people is a counterfeit it's not the real thing and I wish we would be gripped by this till we repent of our lack of fellowship 49:41 I feel I am not here all the time but I feel from what I have seen that a lot of people who come here on Sundays don't have any fellowship with others here you see them on Sundays and sometimes you don't even see them on Sundays 49:57 you come there sit and as soon as the service is over you go is this a restaurant? is this a movie theatre? movie theatre once the show is over you go do you seek fellowship with anybody at all? or during the week are you interested in meeting anybody? 50:17 are you interested in knowing who is here and who is who? see in a club they come together with a common interest there are many clubs poorer clubs and richer clubs but they always have a common interest they come together to play cards 50:36 to drink to play tennis or to swim or to play table tennis or in some places play golf there is a common interest you wouldn't join a club unless you are interested in the things they have in the club and so a church can become a Bible study club 50:56 where you come together because ah there is a good preacher there I like to hear what he has to say it is like saying there is a good movie in that theatre are you coming to watch that movie? it is a really good movie and that is how some people say 51:10 there is a really good preacher there why not we go and listen to him? that is not the church that is like a movie theatre and if you come here just to hear a good preacher I want to say to you straight to your face to speak the truth in love 51:25 you don't know what the church is you don't have a clue what the body of Jesus Christ is and I wonder if you yourself are a part of that body because in this body of my physical body every part is interested in the other 51:43 and I am not saying that you will know everybody here but at least a few you will get to know them you will get close to them and you are interested to know more of them interested to know more people that is a church and I am really concerned 52:00 that we should be growing in that direction because you hear lots of wonderful messages here from all the elders and others that is not enough brothers and sisters we must be built together otherwise we will be like a pile of bricks 52:15 before this building was built there were probably ten thousand, twenty thousand bricks here but ten thousand bricks is not a house and the church is meant to be the temple of God a house and it is not just ten thousand bricks 52:35 piled up together on the roadside it is those bricks put together close to each other that is how this became a building in which we could sit that is how God is building the church and the people who fall away and drift away 52:53 are the ones who are like this pile of bricks you know how if you have a pile of bricks anywhere in India and you don't build quickly those pile of bricks will gradually become less and less and less and less you know that 53:06 because somebody else down the street is also building a house so that is how it happens with people who are just a pile of bricks you know supposing I don't know how five hundred, six hundred people here are we six hundred bricks? 53:18 and you are not built together I tell you a day will come and you will fall away somebody will pick you up probably the devil or some other pastor to build not the church of Jesus Christ but to build his own kingdom 53:38 to fill his pocket with your money there are people there are people sure and especially the devil if you don't want to be picked up like that don't be part of a pile of bricks get built in it is inconvenient to be built into a wall 53:56 because there is a brick on top of you brick underneath on the left you don't have much space to move right? it is much more better to be in the pile of bricks you can wander around when you like go where you like do where you like 54:08 answerable to nobody that is one of the reasons people don't commit themselves to a church they don't want to be answerable to anybody I have met numerous people around the world I mean around the world who tell me brother Zack 54:29 we listen to your message every day imagine listening to 365 messages of mine from the internet in a year that's more than you do I met actually met people like that one man told me brother Zack I hold the world record 54:49 for listening to your messages I said how do I know? how do you know that? he said because I listen to you for about 3-4 hours every day I said wow I've listened to 70 hours through the Bible twice see some of you have not even 55:04 heard 70 hours through the Bible even once these are the people who have heard it twice they are serious but then I asked some of them have you become part of a fellowship anywhere? no they'll come for the conferences they will listen to the message 55:20 but they don't want to be integrated with others and always their excuses oh they're not like you imagine if Peter said to said to Jesus John is not like you he's not as good as you 55:40 I can't fellowship with him they would not have had fellowship with anybody they were all imperfect people but they learnt to fellowship with one another and thus grew up to be godly men you'll never find a perfect person on earth 55:55 to fellowship with and these people and these people are looking for perfect churches and perfect people to fellowship with I tell you they'll never go anywhere be humble and say I'm imperfect and other people are imperfect 56:10 I have to bear with them I have to bear with them for their you know idiosyncrasies and foolishness they have to bear with me it's like marriage marriage is two imperfect people being joined together by the Lord to produce a perfect marriage 56:28 do you know that two imperfect people can produce a perfect marriage where they don't yell at each other and scream at each other and where they are quick to ask forgiveness and humble themselves and serve one another but they are both imperfect 56:41 you can be imperfect and have a perfect marriage but if you go around looking for a perfect person you'll never have a perfect marriage the same way in a church God brings together a whole lot of imperfect people I'm imperfect 56:55 if you don't know that you just got to live a little more with me and you'll discover everybody here is imperfect but we are growing we're growing we love one another just like in a family children and the older children 57:10 and younger children they bear with one another and they love one another this is the family we want to build but there's one important thing here I want to say in Ephesians 4:16 it says the proper working of each individual 57:26 part of the body in our human body there are many parts we don't even see that have functioned so perfectly for all our life and we don't even know it for example most of us don't think of a heart till we get a heart attack 57:44 but that heart has been pumping pumping pumping pumping pumping pumping pumping pumping pumping pumping day and night all your life without giving you any pain without causing you any problem well we don't appreciate it enough 58:02 think of our stomach that is for so many years faithfully digested even sometimes when we eat some rubbish he just somehow takes care of it what faithful ministries these stomach and heart have it just keeps on working, working, working 58:19 and every part has got a function and there are nerves and blood vessels within the blood you know little little things all these things work together the proper working of each individual part 58:39 there is no part that feels oh I must do your part no the liver is happy to do its part the heart is happy to do its part the stomach is happy to do its part the hand is happy to do its part it is a wonderful thing this body 58:51 and I say Lord Jesus I want to see a body of Christ like that I had that burden first in 1965 about six years after I was converted I had a burden to see a body I never saw it I never saw it for ten years later till 1975 59:13 I still long to see it as our churches grow that there will be a body ministry functioning together and I want to encourage you as an individual part of that body my brother, sister work properly do your part properly and I will tell you in a moment 59:33 what your part is the proper working of each individual part you don't discover when you are a little child spiritually what your ministry is no see a little child growing up in our home it has to discover it has to discover 59:50 it has to discover the use of its hands and tongue and learn to speak and it is a gradual process of discovering how to use its bodily parts so it takes time for us to know what our ministry in the body is but I will tell you how to begin 1:00:07 turn with me to 1 Peter and chapter 4 and if you will take me seriously here I guarantee that not in a few days but in a few years you will be a very effective member of the body of Christ here 1:00:27 even if you are a pretty useless one right now even if you are just a visitor just coming to listen to messages I want to show you how you can become an effective useful member not for us to build CFC we are not interested in CFC's name 1:00:48 I don't care for that name the body of Jesus Christ that is what I am concerned about to tell you honestly I am not concerned about my name or CFC's name the body of Christ that is what we want to build here we have a name for legal purposes 1:01:05 that is about it but in 1 Peter chapter 4 we read here in verse 17 it speaks about the family of God or the household of God in that verse and wherever I see the expression the family of God or the household of God 1:01:25 I say hey that must be an important verse because there are not many verses like that that talk about the family or the household means family of God and it says here it is time for judgment to begin in the family of God 1:01:43 and it must begin with us first forget about those who don't obey the gospel of God that is how I read that verse it must begin with us first so here is where you can begin maybe you can't preach well maybe you can't sing 1:02:01 maybe you can't play an instrument maybe you don't even know how to clean the toilet well it doesn't matter but here is where you can begin can you judge yourself can you stop judging others for some time 1:02:21 and all that tremendous sharpness with which you are able to see the faults of other people around you can you use that sharpness a little now focus it inward and see some of the faults within you see that magnifying glass that you have used on others 1:02:40 just turn it inward and judge yourself that is the first step to becoming an effective member of the body of Jesus Christ here I'm telling you after 40 years yeah Ian Robson and I have worked for 40 years 1:03:05 and the reason we haven't had a fight or a falling out till today is because there is a man who judges himself I know that without a shadow of doubt and I do that too so therefore despite our differences and different views we may have on different things 1:03:22 it's never brought a break of fellowship and the same applies to anybody else who's come on that basis who comes here not to judge others but to judge himself fellowship becomes simply glorious even though we we don't force people to have our viewpoint 1:03:40 never, never, never I never force anybody to have my viewpoint you can have yours but fellowship does not mean we all think alike on everything no but we do think alike on this that Satan must be defeated and that Jesus Christ must be glorified 1:03:59 if you agreed on that, that's enough I often think of that picture in the Old Testament there was a time when just after Israel came out of Egypt you've heard me say this before Joshua went to fight the Amalekites they were the enemy 1:04:16 and it's a picture of our fighting not only the flesh but the devil Exodus chapter 17 and the Amalekites were very strong and Joshua was being defeated at times the army of Israel was being defeated 1:04:37 so Moses said I'm too old to go and fight but I'll go to the top of the hill and pray and you know what used to happen Moses used to lift up his hands in prayer and every time his hands were lifted up in prayer Joshua would win 1:04:52 the Amalekites would get thrashed there's a spiritual lesson there when you find the devil winning lift up your hands and pray praise God when you find you can't pray start praising and then you know the battle went on from morning to late afternoon 1:05:09 and you can't keep your hands up for so long Moses got tired so Joshua and Hur they did two of them they got a stone and asked Moses to sit there and each of them held up his hands now both of them they didn't 1:05:29 sort of discuss with Moses hey before we hold up your hands let's see whether we are all agreed on every single point no in fact Aaron Aaron and Hur not Joshua and Hur Aaron and Hur Aaron Joshua was in the battlefield Aaron and Hur 1:05:48 were holding up his hands Aaron had a disagreement with Moses by the way about Moses wife he says Moses I don't agree with you about the woman you married it was not an Israelite you married a non-Jewish daughter of Jethro 1:06:05 how do you do that? but they did not discuss that when the battle was going on wasn't that sensible? imagine if Aaron and Moses had a discussion there about Moses wife by the time Joshua and his soldiers would have been thrashed 1:06:22 that's what's happening in a lot of Christendom today the devil's winning left right and center while the believers are arguing about all types of silly things instead of asking one question do you want satan to be defeated? 1:06:36 do you want Jesus Christ to be glorified? that's all Aaron and Hur thought of when they held up Moses hands we want the Amalekites to be defeated we want Joshua and the army to win and so if you say if you agree with me 1:06:56 that you want the devil to be defeated in your life in your home and in every home here and in the church I want the devil to be defeated in every single home here every single one I want the devil to have no place in this church 1:07:13 I want the devil to be defeated in your personal lives in your business life in your office life I don't want the devil to win are you agreed with me on that? I don't want the devil to win in our ministry in the different churches that we minister in 1:07:32 we want the devil to be defeated and we want Jesus to be glorified in our life in our home in our church if you are agreed on these two points the devil must be defeated and Jesus Christ must be glorified come and hold up my hands 1:07:46 and I'll hold up your hands we'd agree together and make sure that we become more and more one and we judge ourselves and if I Moses must judge himself why he married somebody it's none of Aaron's business and I can judge myself 1:08:02 in the areas which are my private life you see who Moses married is his own private affair sometimes when a brother is marrying a believer whom I don't quite agree with I say well it's none of my business I'm not going to live with her 1:08:16 he's going to live with her he's chosen her fine I've got no objection he probably found that's the best girl for her let him get married to her and go on I will not keep a dispute with him about whom he marries because it's none of my business 1:08:28 and Aaron would have been sensible not to dispute with Mary Moses about whom he married there's so many things like this which we must learn to give another person his privacy why does he allow his children to wear jeans 1:08:46 jeans or his daughter to dress like this I'll tell you brother is that your daughter none of your business just mind your own business is one of the great I wish I had a big board in front of every church mind your own business 1:08:59 it's a which they see every Sunday mind your own business it's really one of the greatest exhortations exhortations needed in many churches do you know what is the last exhortation Jesus gave before he ascended I don't mean in the gospels 1:09:17 there are four gospels the last gospel is John what is the last exhortation Jesus gave in the gospel of John do you know what it is mind your own business you turn with me to John's gospel I'll show it to you John's gospel is the last of the four gospels 1:09:36 and one day you know Jesus was commissioning Peter and he told him feed my sheep in John's gospel and verse tend my lambs 1:09:56 verse 15 16 downwards all the way down to verse 17 he said feed my sheep tend my sheep then he told him something in verse 18 John 21:18 he said when you were young you would went to wherever you like but when you grow old 1:10:11 someone else is going to stretch out your hands meaning that you're going to be crucified and that's how Peter was killed Peter was crucified and Jesus was predicting Peter you're only about 30-33 now in another 30-35 years 1:10:24 somebody else will stretch out your hands and will take you where you do not want to go you're going to be killed you're going to be crucified and this he said verse 19 signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God 1:10:42 I like that expression glorifying God in a death don't you want to die like that I want to die like that I want to die glorifying God think of that expression I sometimes see old people saying oh I wish I could die I'll never say that 1:11:04 I say I want to glorify God if I die I want to glorify God and if I stay on it's for helping other people even if I'm weak and old and sick I want to help other people by death he would glorify God and then he said to him 1:11:19 follow me don't worry about somebody stretches out your hand 30 years from now it'll happen it'll happen but you follow me till then and when Peter heard this I'm going to suffer like this he turned around and he saw John 1:11:34 verse 20 and he asked him Lord what about this man is he going to have a comfortable life only me going to suffer you know this is what I mean by being a busybody in other people's matters why is that brother having a comfortable life 1:11:51 and me having such a tough time you some of you may be asking that question too even now that's exactly what Peter asked what about this man and Jesus said if I want him to live until I come that means if I want him to live for 2000 years 1:12:07 what's that to you? what's that to you? if I want him to live a comfortable life what is that to you? you follow me in other words if I were to paraphrase it mind your own business you follow me your business is to follow me 1:12:22 that's all that's the last exhortation that we read in the gospels and it's very very interesting what a need there is for that so 1 Peter 4 I was looking at this verse in the family of God we judge ourselves first like it says there 1:12:43 sorry 1 Peter in chapter 4 and verse 16 17 we judge ourselves first in the world people never judge themselves first they put themselves first in everything 1:13:03 always me first, me first, me first but when it comes to judgment other people first isn't that how it is in the world? isn't that how it was with you? and isn't that how it is with some of you still? proving that your mind is still worldly 1:13:20 if you want to be a part of the family of God make it upside down or right side up Jesus turned people upside down people right side up and said you must put other people first in everything love others as yourself and treat them as you want yourself to be treated 1:13:47 put them first but in judgment put yourself first that's turning the world upside down if you want to live in an upside down opposite way to the world do this put others first in everything except judgment in judgment put yourself first 1:14:02 you'll never find people in the world agreeing with you on that they'll put themselves first in everything and put others first in judgment so you know how to be different from the world if that is darkness then this is light 1:14:14 the world lives in darkness they live in darkness because they put themselves first in everything they never think of others and when it comes to judgment they only think of others that's darkness the opposite of that is light 1:14:28 where I think of others I think of their need I think of how can I serve them how can I help them how can I bless them all the time our mind is revolving like that how can I help them a little more how can I serve them how can I pray for that person 1:14:41 how can I give a word of encouragement to this other person who has written an email to me or to you and how can I judge myself a little more in everything we do we need to learn to judge ourselves and when we do that turn back to Ephesians 4 1:15:00 the proper working of every individual part that's what I was speaking about Ephesians 4 and verse 16 the proper working of each individual part every single person here to work properly to the building of the body 1:15:21 the first thing you need to do is to judge yourself constantly and how long should I judge myself I must judge myself until Christ comes because I have not completely become like Christ you can stop judging yourself the moment you feel 1:15:38 you have become like Christ completely when I see people in the world who don't Christians who don't judge themselves I say what arrogant people they don't judge themselves they must be thinking they have already become like Christ 1:15:54 that is arrogance anyone sitting here who does not judge himself daily I want to say to you in Jesus name you are an arrogant proud person who thinks that you have already become like Christ anyone who has not yet become like Christ 1:16:10 would be judging himself sure definitely the only person who stops judging himself is the one who thinks I have become like Christ don't you think that is arrogance Paul said I have not yet become perfect I will tell you my own experience 1:16:30 I learned to judge myself not as soon as I was converted I wish somebody had taught me that as soon as I was converted but I learned to judge myself only about 40 years ago soon after CFC started when I became part of the family of God 1:16:43 and I learned to judge myself and after judging myself for 40 years almost every single day and it is every day now and repenting every day of un-Christ-likeness hidden little layers of this onion of selfishness or something 1:17:01 that I have got to peel off or pride I find that I feel I am so unlike Christ today compared to what I was 40 years ago because it is not like that I mean many areas God has given me complete victory I never get discouraged now 1:17:21 I never complain or grumble or get angry all these things are gone but I find myself in those little subtle areas the closer you come to God the light of God shines so brightly that you see little little spots which you never even noticed before 1:17:39 you know how you walk in a dull dim light you don't see spots in your dress it is like that when you are born again but you are far away from God but you come closer and closer and the light of God shines so brightly that 1:17:53 you say boy I didn't even see that it is something like you take a microscope and look at your hand that looks so clean you say boy all those little germs crawling on my hand they are there you didn't see them they are so tiny 1:18:12 that is what happens when you come closer to God you begin to see small little sins magnified which other people don't even notice they say my hands are clean you put a magnifying glass and you say a whole lot of things 1:18:24 it is not clean at all it is like that when you come close to God remember this brothers and sisters you will never need to stop judging yourself till Christ comes again that is the proper working of each individual part 1:18:39 and as you do that God will show you what your ministry is in the body it will automatically come I never sought for a ministry in the body of Christ it just came out of judging myself and if you judge yourself it will come 1:18:55 and thus it says here in the last part of verse 16 the growth of the whole body for the building up of itself in love that is what we want to see here in CFC in the days to come the growth of the whole body not in numbers 1:19:13 remember not like the Pharisees more more more quantity but quality I will tell you honestly I don't care if not a single other person joins this church then those are already members we want to wait a little I am not saying others can't come 1:19:32 they are welcome to come we want to reach the world for Christ but we also want to consolidate and make sure that the ones who are here are also growing that we don't get so taken up with outreach that we don't care for this growth 1:19:47 you care so much for the children out on the roads that you don't allow your own children to be brought up properly you don't send them to school you don't educate them because you are always caring for the children on the streets 1:19:56 you don't do that all of us parents care for our children then we can care for others so in the same way we care for those who are here that they will grow up to maturity just like you care for your own children and as much as you have a burden 1:20:12 for your children to grow up to maturity go to school, go to college I want to say before God I have a burden to see that you grow up to maturity to become like Christ may the Lord help us this is why we need to seek God 1:20:27 to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to judge ourselves let's pray if you have taken seriously what you have heard today I want you to seek God 1:20:49 and say Lord it has not been my practice to judge myself everyday but I want to begin just like you brush your teeth everyday Lord I want to judge myself everyday from now onwards I want to be an effective member of this body 1:21:12 I don't want to be a visitor anymore I want to do the lowly jobs I want to judge myself I want to build fellowship I don't want to be a lonely person drifting in and out I want to be an effective member of this body starting today 1:21:27 make that decision you won't regret it when Jesus comes Heavenly Father I pray for all those who are seriously taking that decision today please help them and assure them that you will support them completely in Jesus name we pray 1:21:46 Amen Amen Here we thank God for his word this morning and before we close we would like to look at the memory verse 1:22:07 for the last week 4th October 2015 shall we say it all together let's join our hearts together and let's say it in one accord the Lord has taken away his judgments against you 1:22:28 he has cleared away your enemies the King of Israel the Lord the Lord is in your midst you will fear disaster no more Zephniah chapter 3 verse 15 ok the verse for this week is from a different version Hebrews chapter 3 verse 12 1:22:47 it's a little different from an ASB version shall we say it together my friends watch out don't let evil thoughts or doubts make any of you turn from the living God once again Hebrews chapter 3 verse 12 1:23:07 my friends watch out don't let evil thoughts or doubts make any of you turn from the living God Amen we want to welcome all those who are visiting us for the first time this morning so if you are visiting us for the first time 1:23:25 would you please stand where you are so that we can greet you and
