Church membership means functioning as an active, interconnected part of Christ's body rather than a nominal label. Members must be spiritually productive contributors who supply encouragement and spiritual care to others, grow toward maturity and conformity to Christ, and submit to church leadership as joints in a body submit to their proper function. The goal is not merely unity but unified growth toward the fullness of Christ.
