Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. He is to be feared above all gods. 25:44 For all the gods, so-called gods, small g gods of the peoples, their idols, The Lord is the one who made the heavens, made you and me. Splendor and majesty are before him. 26:05 Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Ascribe, give credit, give unto the Lord, O families of the people, glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name. Bring an offering and come into his courts. 26:26 Worship the Lord in holy attire, holy dress. Tremble before him all the earth. Say among the nations, the Lord reigns. Indeed, the world is firmly established. It will not be moved. He will judge the people with equity, with justice. 26:51 Let the heavens be glad, let the earth rejoice. The Lord is coming. He will judge the world in righteousness. Lord, we want to acknowledge your presence and your power and your goodness and mercy towards us, Lord. 27:18 Who are we that we should hear what we hear and see what we see and be here, Lord, before you in your presence on the small speck of dust in the universe, Lord. But your attention is on us this morning. We believe that, Lord. 27:35 Because you've chosen us. We're the objects of your love. Lord, we want to praise you, give you glory and thanks. That's due to your name. We want to lift up our voices and acknowledge that you've been good to us. Brothers and sisters, lift up your voices. 27:53 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord together. Yes, Lord, we praise you. We thank you. You're the king of kings. You're the lord of lords. There's no one like you. Yes, Lord. You're a good father. You've been good to us, Lord. 28:05 And though you know all our ways, your love for us is an everlasting love, Lord. Lord, you're the same yesterday, today and forever. You're mighty, Lord. Thank you for giving us your son, for giving us the Holy Spirit, Lord, to accomplish this work. 28:19 Thank you, Lord, for the light of your love that shines on us, Lord. Open our eyes to see you, Lord. We want to see you. We want to see you in your glory, Lord. Even today, be manifest, Lord, to our hearts. Yes, Lord. Your finger is able to write your laws on our hearts. 28:35 We praise you and thank you. You are able to do it, Lord. You are able. You're bigger than all our problems. We praise you, King of kings, Lord of lords. Worthy, worthy, worthy are you, Lord. Yes, Lord, we want to make a throne of praise, Lord. 28:49 Because you alone are Lord. Yes, my knees shall bow, my tongue shall confess that you are Lord. Thank you and praise you, Lord. We thank you for this time. Yes, Lord, we come into each of us into your hands. We believe that you'll speak to us, Lord. 29:02 We pray in your mighty name, Jesus Savior. Amen. Brothers sisters, please be seated. Let's look at our memory verses for the week. 29:23 So, brothers, sisters, we just want to encourage you, take this opportunity to encourage you to memorize the verses. Put the word of the Lord in your heart. Hide it in your heart. So, it will come to you in a moment of need. 29:41 It's good that we say it together on Sunday, but the reason we say it together on Sunday is for us to remember it. Those of you who do that, the Lord will reward you richly. Isaiah 30 verse 21. Your ears will hear a word behind you. 30:05 Your ears will hear a word behind you. This is the way, walk in it. This is the way, walk in it. That's a promise. That was last week's verse. And this week, we have a command from Acts chapter 2 verse 38. Repeat after me. 30:23 Acts 2:38. Repent. And let each of you be baptized. In the name of Jesus Christ. For the forgiveness of your sins. and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 30:49 We'll say that again. Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 31:10 That's Acts 2, verse 38. So, sisters, let's turn our hearts and our thoughts to the Lord. Trust that He's going to meet with us. Speak to us, especially according to our need. 31:31 Let's have ears that are eager to listen, hearts that come with faith, that the Lord may be magnified, that He might speak to us according to His will. Brother Ian will share the word with us first. 31:54 Thank you. 32:24 Thank you. Very blessed morning to all of you. 32:46 We praise the Lord for this day that we could meet together here, what the Lord has to say to us, all of us. And expect a word from him to our hearts. 33:09 We should always come with expectation to any meeting of the church, whether it's Sunday or any meeting of the church. Whenever we come together, even the home meetings, never do it as a ritual. When it becomes a dead ritual and we do things out of routine, 33:29 then we don't get what we should get. And like we talked about, we dry up very quickly. So I want to share with you two very precious verses. And first of all, I want you to turn to Luke chapter 10. 33:53 Luke chapter 10. I want to read from, actually, verses 23 to 24 is what I have on my heart. 34:19 But I like to read a little before that. So we read it in its context. You know, from verse 17 of Luke chapter 10. It says, you know, Jesus had sent out 70 disciples, two by two, 34:45 into all the cities of Israel, cities and towns and villages. And it says in verse 17, the 70 returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name. And he said to them, 35:05 I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. Behold, I've given you authority. You know, we've heard that, Brother Zach has said, the speed that Satan flees and falls, the speed of light. 35:25 Whatever it is, 300,000, I don't know, miles per second. But he says, I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning when he sent these 70 out and they did some wonderful things 35:46 in his name. He says, behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing will injure you. That's a word that I have believed in, 36:10 trusted in, and many times been saved from injury and even my workmen. I remember years ago as a young man, unconverted man, that I was sleeping on a mattress in the morning when I picked up the mattress. 36:30 A young man, maybe 25, 26, and there was a scorpion under the mattress. I remember once my workmen were in the house in Babsapalya that we were living in and that's where I had to ship my workshop to. 36:51 And there was a scorpion, black scorpion, just hardly an inch, half an inch from his heel. and the other carpenter saw it and told him and he killed it. Many times 37:12 I told my workmen and we lived there where there were snakes and scorpions that we had to continually deal with before the place you know, got inhabited. And so this word I used to quote to them, behold, I have given you authority 37:31 to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing will endure you. It doesn't mean that we just go stupidly standing on a scorpion and playing with a snake. It doesn't mean that. But the authority 37:48 that he has given us that nothing will endure us. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this that the spirits are subject to you but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven. You know, they came back and they returned with joy 38:07 saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name. That's the authority the Lord gives us as a church, as individuals. Remember that, my brothers and sisters. You know, he says, I've given you all authority, given you authority 38:24 over all the power of the enemy, all the power of the enemy, nothing shall endure. serpents and scorpions are from the enemy, you know, to endures. At that very time, verse 21, Jesus rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit and said, 38:41 I praise you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in your sight. I hope you're 39:00 encouraged by that, that word. That's why I read that word I wanted to share with you in context. You know what I was going to share with you in 23, 24, but read it in its context. And Jesus rejoices 39:20 so much. He says, Father, I thank you, I praise you, that you are Lord of heaven and earth and you've hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing 39:38 in your sight. All things have been handed over to me by my Father and no one knows who the Son is except the Father and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal him. And I hope my brothers 39:57 and sisters that Jesus has revealed the Father to you and that you know God as your Father in heaven who takes care of you that sees that nothing will endure you and Jesus has given us 40:17 all authority over all the power of the enemy and he sees too that nothing will endure us over our children over our families. Then verse 22 all things have been handed over to me by my Father no one knows 40:37 who the Son is except the Father and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal him. Then turning to his disciples he said privately this was special to them this is something for their years 40:56 he said privately to them blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see for I say to you that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see and did not see them and to hear the things which you 41:15 hear and did not hear them. Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see. I hope you have blessed eyes my brothers and sisters I thank the Lord for giving me blessed eyes. 41:35 From the day I surrendered my life to him 55 56 years ago he has given me blessed eyes to see many many wonderful things most of all to see the glory of Jesus not just to admire him not just to stand 41:55 in awe which we do but where I am changed day by day day by day year by year I am not the same as I was before blessed eyes I hope 42:17 all of you who are listening to these words have blessed eyes that Jesus has given you blessed eyes many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see did not see them and to hear the things which you hear and did 42:35 not hear them the the queen of Sheba traveled such a great distance to hear the wisdom of Solomon and to hear about all his greatness and you know the greatest king on the earth at that time the richest king the wisest king 42:55 that ever lived on the earth and she traveled all the way to hear the wisdom of Solomon and Jesus referring to her said that there is someone something greater than Solomon here someone wiser than Solomon and greater than Solomon 43:16 here so many prophets and kings miss this they don't have blessed eyes and they travel to and fro searching for truth and searching for reality and for whatever and they and they miss it all because 43:37 like Jesus said these things are hidden from the wise and intelligent not a sin to be wise and intelligent but when I depend upon my wisdom and intelligence to know God can never know him I will be blind so that's what Jesus 43:57 said to his disciples you are blessed my loved ones you are blessed my disciples because many prophets and kings have desired to see the things that you see but they did not see them and I hope you've seen many things since 44:15 you were born again whether it was yesterday last week and many of you who have been baptized I hope you're saying many wonderful things and most of all I hope you see Jesus you see what he's done for you on the cross you 44:36 see the price he's paid for you you see how much he suffered for you you see that he gave up his glory in heaven he did not regard equality to the father thing to be held on to to be blessed he emptied himself and he came 44:54 down and came into the slum of flesh that you and I have and lived a perfect life he worked as a carpenter in Nazareth for 30 years he lived a life in 33 and a half years where he never sinned once and 45:14 so he was able to offer himself up to God for us as a ransom as a sacrifice for your sin and my sin and the sins of the that is the most wonderful thing to see many prophets and kings have desired to see the things that 45:33 we see but they could not see them and that is the greatest miracle that has ever happened that your sins and my sins can be blotted out by repentance and faith we read that we saw that memory verse repent and be baptized 45:52 for the forgiveness of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit opens our eyes all the time to see the glory of Jesus and so that's there 46:10 are many other things I can relate to you but there is no time but as you follow Jesus the Holy Spirit will take the things that you need to see that you want to see you have a desire to love God with all of your heart you 46:27 have a desire to follow Jesus you have a desire to overcome all sin and you everything around us Christ overcome overcome the birds in the morning that you hear you see the decay the corruption in the world overcome 46:47 as you see how the world is going today whatever may happen who is in power who comes to power does not matter that call must come to us overcome overcome and by overcoming we hasten the day of the Lord the day 47:07 of Jesus return and I want to just say some of the things that hinder us from having blessed eyes one of the things one of the most important things that we have to guard against and watch 47:27 against is that our minds are distracted things that occupy your mind and my mind and heart and blind and distract us all the time every day as soon as you get up in the morning 47:47 and it's a battle it's we have to fight to ward off that distraction yes when you get up in the morning you can get so distracted that we don't turn our eyes to God we don't turn to God there's things to 48:08 do with something I forgot to do yesterday or some problem in the office or some problem we're facing in the home these are the things that occupy our minds and our hearts and blind and distract us and so we cannot see the 48:26 things we ought to see which is our privilege because Jesus said to the disciples privately blessed are your eyes for seeing the things that you see I pray that you take this seriously and as much as we have heard it you 48:46 know we see it is a battle a battle to fight distraction a continuous battle other sins we pray and we get victory over but distraction we don't see it as a sin we are distracted Jesus 49:08 had to rebuke Peter when he spoke about going to the cross about his crucifixion and resurrection and he says pity yourself that should not happen to you and at once Jesus recognized where that 49:28 voice came from he said get behind me Satan you are a stumbling block to me you are setting your mind on man's interest and not on God's that's how Jesus dealt with distraction many times right 49:49 till the last moment in Gethsemane where the devil was after him to distract him to avoid the cross and that's what he does with us and a striking example I wanted to see you know two 50:09 disciples on the way to the ways you heard this before but I'm just I'm just trying to highlight what I was saying that how our minds our hearts get blinded and distracted and we don't see the things that we 50:29 ought to see look look 24 I just want you to see a few verses there the things that keep us from seeing the things that we should see I just want you to point out a few verses there you know about the story I'm not going 50:45 to go through it about these two disciples after Jesus had risen from the dead they were going walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus it's a distance about seven miles about ten kilometers which would probably take about three 51:03 hours three and a half hours to walk and they were walking together and you turn to verse twelve fourteen the two of them verse thirteen were going that very day to a village named Emmaus this is sunday morning the 51:24 day that Jesus rose from the dead and they were talking with each other about all the things which had taken place they were talking together and no sin in talking together but all the things that happened they need to be 51:43 discussed they need to be talked together but how we talk about it and how we discuss it with our spouse or with somebody else somebody else we are working with that's important and and while they were talking and discussing 51:58 Jesus himself was 15 approached and began traveling with him but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him see see see that's what happens where there's a problem in the home where there's something between husband 52:16 and wife some problem you go to deal with your children some problem in the office and you can be so occupied your mind can get so occupied and your heart can get so heavy that you're distracted and it says here their eyes 52:36 were prevented from recognizing him not that Jesus prevented their eyes from recognizing him what they were discussing about and he said to them what are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking 52:52 I've often thought of that phrase what are these words that you're exchanging with one another as you're walking what are the words you exchange with one another you know you're sharing a problem you have to talk about something 53:10 what are these words that you're exchanging with one another and they stood still looking sad that's how blinded and distracted the words the things that had happened and they go on to say verse 18 one of them named Cleopas 53:30 answered and said to him are you the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days and he said to them he had in a sense of humor what things what things that's the question 53:49 the Lord would ask us when the words we speak which are not of faith and we are so cast down our hearts are so heavy and we come to the meetings also with a heavy heart and Jesus says 54:09 what things and they said to him the things about Jesus and Nazarene things are you occupied so much with the things that are happening in your life whatever it is you want to get married you can get so occupied and your 54:28 heart becomes so heavy you need a job or you need to change jobs or some concern for your children and the things occupy your mind and your heart is heavy and Jesus says what things what is this that you're looking so sad 54:48 your heart is cast down and verse 19 he said to them what things and they said to him the things about Jesus and Nazarene was a prophet mighty in deed and word in sight of God and all the people and how the chief priests 55:07 and rulers delivered him to the sentence of death and crucified him and we were hoping it was he we were hoping that it was he was going to redeem Israel you see the words we were hoping we were disappointed it it was 55:28 he who was going to redeem Israel indeed besides all this it is the third day since these things happened but also some women among us amazed us when they were at the tomb early in the morning did not find his body they came 55:42 saying they had also seen a vision of angels and so on and some of those at the tomb these are the words they were exchanging with one another be careful of the words my brothers and sisters you exchange with each other 55:58 in the home particularly whatever is the problem that you are facing let it be words of faith let it be words of hope not you know we were hoping but he's disappointed me that's so you're disappointed because 56:18 your hope was not fulfilled your prayer was not fulfilled you did not get an answer to I've been through that situation I'm not preaching a sermon to you I've been through so much in these last few few years and particularly 56:36 when the Lord decided to call my wife Vicky to glory we went through a tremendous trial and we can think I'm we are hoping but he has disappointed me and Jesus doesn't give up on us and he 56:56 said to them oh foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken and they they had heard what the prophets had spoken Saturday after Saturday Sabbath after Sabbath Sabbath after Sabbath and they 57:15 heard from the scriptures the Old Testament that was read even though they didn't have a printed Bible he said oh foolish man and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken we have the printed word today 57:31 we have God's word printed in so many languages translations so many versions we have no excuse he said was it not necessary for Christ to suffer these things and to enter into glory and the Lord says was it what you are going 57:50 through is necessary Peter speaks about it the trials that come into our life which is necessary it's only for a short while but the devil will not like to see it that way then beginning with Moses I like this in all the 58:06 prophets he explained to them the things concerning himself in all the scriptures and as they approached the village where they were going he acted as if he was wanting to go further but they urged him saying stay with us 58:23 for it is getting toward evening and the day is now nearly over and here's a word that is stuck in my heart for many years where he went in and stay with him make sure dear brothers and sisters that Jesus comes into that situation 58:41 make sure that you invite him in and don't think no I don't think you know I can handle this myself you can handle it yourself it'll be disastrous so they urged him they begged him come come in and stay with us and he 59:01 went in and stay with them and then you know the result when he reclined at table verse 30 when they took the bread blessed it and breaking it he began giving it to them then their eyes were opened then their eyes were opened 59:21 and he vanished from their side then they received blessed eyes blessed are your eyes which see the things that you see and hear the things that you hear how blessed my brothers and sisters you don't need to give in to your 59:41 gloom and discouragement whatever it is you're facing in your personal life in your home life in your family whatever it is make sure that you beg him to come into that situation and he will he went in and 1:00:01 stayed with them he didn't just come and solve their problem and go again he stayed with them and even though when their eyes were opened and he vanished from their sight the risen Lord was still with them his presence 1:00:23 was still with them and was going to be in a greater way with them 40 days later when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon all the disciples and they said to one another listen to this verse 32 were not our hearts burning 1:00:39 within us while he was speaking to us on the road while he was explaining the scriptures to us were not our hearts burning with us I hope when you hear the word of the Lord your heart burns within you as we read these scriptures 1:00:56 today I hope your heart burns with you within you it is Jesus who speaks to you why is your heart heavy why are you sad why are you so occupied with things with things don't you believe I can handle it and if you can only 1:01:17 invite him and let him stay with you and then he opens your eyes he opens your eyes to see the things which many prophets and kings desired to see but could not see and I want you turn your 1:01:37 attention there where he says you know he speaks in verse 25 oh foolish men oh fools that's one of the rare times I see Jesus calling his disciples fools I'm a fool and you're a fool if I'm slow of heart I may not 1:01:58 be outrightly unbelieving but slow of heart to believe you know sluggish to believe is it really true that he's going to be with me in trials in the struggles I have is it really true that he will lead me into victory is it really 1:02:14 true that he's not a disappointment slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken and that's when more and more we should turn out our minds and our attention and our hearts to God's word the word 1:02:36 of the Lord that we hear not just on Sundays and weekdays but God speaks to us every day so that's something that I want you to see unbelief is the biggest enemy unbelief in the guise of being 1:02:56 slow of heart you can't recognize it slow of heart to believe and that's why you're so sluggish that's why your life is our lives become dry that's why we drag ourselves along we are stragglers you know it says 1:03:17 in I can't remember the verse that the Amalekites attacked the stragglers in Israel when they were coming through the wilderness the stragglers got attacked those who were lagging behind we are all in a 1:03:38 battle and if I'm a straggler and I lag behind I'm a target of the enemy if I am slow of heart to believe all that God has promised me I'm a target of the enemy watch for that my brothers and sisters unbelief in this 1:03:59 guise of being slow of heart to believe that all that the word of God all the promises of God robs us of this blessedness robs us of having blessed eyes we need to guard our hearts against this scheme of the devil and he 1:04:16 succeeds very successfully with God's people he attacks us because we are a straggler we lag behind we are slow of heart to believe all that God has promised us and that's why Paul prayed for the church in 1:04:38 Ephesus I pray I want you to just look at that word you know it you've heard it so many times Ephesians 1 verse 17 Ephesians 1 he says I pray I pray the burden he had for this church 1:04:58 the eyes of your heart the eyes of your heart that is what not the eyes of our head that we all we have eyes we read God's word but the eyes of our heart I believe there is a great need among us that this is 1:05:19 fulfilled Ephesians 1 17 he says he says verse 16 I do not cease giving thanks to God for you making mention of you my praise the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of glory may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation 1:05:40 in the knowledge of him a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened the eyes of your heart may be enlightened may be open you can 1:06:00 have blessed eyes to see the things that many prophets and kings desired to see but could not see them so that you will know what is the hope of his calling we don't have to be like those two disciples we are hoping we are 1:06:16 hoping and when I ask some people some brothers and sisters have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit I am praying I am hoping I am trying I am praying no he says you may know what is the hope of his calling what are the riches 1:06:33 of the glory of his inheritance in the saints and the living bible translated that God has been made rich because we who are Christ have been given to him God has been made rich that is God's inheritance Paul says I pray 1:06:51 that your eyes would be open to see that God's inheritance in the saints that the eyes of your heart will be open to see that God has been made rich because we who are Christ have been given to him I have that plaque up 1:07:09 in my home to remind me around the dining table that God has been made rich because we who are Christ have been given to him and what is the surpassing greatness of his power verse 19 toward us who believe these are in accordance 1:07:28 with the working of the strength of his might which he brought about in Christ when he raised him from the dead seated him at the right hand in the heavenly places far above all rule and authority and power and dominion 1:07:41 and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come and he put all things in subjection under his feet which means under our feet also and gave him his head over all things to the church that's 1:07:56 why I say under our feet also which is his body the fullness of him who fills all in it will do something to you pray that the eyes of your heart are enlightened that you will have blessed eyes finally 1:08:16 I want you to look at this other verse which I said I mentioned two verses they bless my heart now always remember them and that's in 1 Corinthians in chapter 2 1 Corinthians chapter 2 I 1:08:38 think it's verse 9 says things which eye has not seen no ear has heard all that God has prepared for those who love him 1:08:58 2 Corinthians I think I know help me there 1 Corinthians isn't it always get mixed up there 1 Corinthians 2 yeah 1:09:20 that's right 1 Corinthians 2 9 Paul speaks about God's wisdom verse 7 wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood for if they would have understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory but just 1:09:37 as is written things things which I has not seen no year has and year has not heard which have not entered the heart of man all that God has prepared for those who love him things we spoke about things the two disciples 1:09:57 were occupied with the things that happened around them and here the Holy Spirit reminds us of the things which I has not seen which many prophets and kings desired to see but did not see and hear has not heard and they 1:10:13 did not hear the things that we hear and not enter the heart of man all that God has prepared for those who love him and that's a quotation from Isaiah 64 verse 4 and 5 always when you see something in caps don't just go 1:10:32 past it go back go back to the old testament you have it there you have a center reference bible then you find it there you look there it's a there and you go to a there that's how you can study the scriptures verse 9 you 1:10:52 look look at verse 9 in the margin and then you come to this Isaiah 64 4 go there I do that all the time because I want to know what is it and even when Jesus spoke and he quoted from the Old Testament go there and read 1:11:11 it in his context and so Isaiah says here for from days of old listen to this for from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear nor has the eye seen a God beside you who acts in behalf of the one who waits for 1:11:28 him you meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness who remembers you in your ways Isaiah 64 4 and 5 and that's that's what he quotes there that's what the Holy Spirit turns our attention to but it says then verse 10 that 1:11:50 to us like Jesus said to the disciples privately to us he said to them in another place to you it has been granted to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven doesn't that does that grip you does that do something 1:12:07 to your faith that we are special to us to you he said to them privately and he says to us here verse 10 God revealed them through the spirit for the spirit searches all things even the depths of God and who among men knows 1:12:24 the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him even even even even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the spirit of God now we have received not the spirit of the world but the spirit who is from 1:12:38 God so that we may know the things freely given to us by God which things we also speak not in words taught by human wisdom but in those taught by the spirit combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words and natural 1:12:56 man doesn't understand this so without the Holy Spirit my brothers and sisters you cannot have blessed eyes that's what I want to end with without the Holy Spirit because it says to us God revealed them what 1:13:17 what has God revealed things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and all that God has prepared for those who love him that's how it is so without the Holy Spirit you're living a very very beggarly life I want to say 1:13:36 that to all of you who have not taken the baptism to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit seriously and seek God for an assurance then your eyes will be open like those two disciples 1:13:54 your hearts will burn the Bible will not be a boring book and words will come to you at many times you will get a word of the Lord that will burn and make your heart burn give you faith you will not be occupied with the 1:14:11 things around you whatever somebody does does not do whatever problem somebody causes you whatever it is you are facing if you have eyes that have been opened and let the Holy Spirit come into your situation let Jesus come into 1:14:31 that situation Lord stay with me I hope he is in your home staying with you I hope he doesn't have to leave because of your unbelief unbelief gives him no place in the home so throw out unbelief together with the 1:14:52 one who causes unbelief and that is the devil that is our archenemy number one unbelief which comes in so many guises when you point the finger remove the yoke the Holy Spirit from your midst and then your life will be like a 1:15:10 watered garden take God's word seriously and I tell you you cannot take it seriously if you don't ask Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire take that memory verse that we memorize today seriously repent 1:15:31 and be baptized some of you have been baptized and for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit this promise is for you and for your children and for all those who are far off so you 1:15:47 can never know God's wisdom like it says to us God revealed them through the Spirit what I has not seen what you have not heard what has not entered in the heart of man it's the Holy Spirit who reveals that to us so may 1:16:02 God really bless these words to your heart I hope your heart burns not because of my words because of God's word what I have spoken to you is God's word I tell you your life will be different you will not be gloomy and sad 1:16:17 we may go through such things we may be tempted to be discouraged and give up but Jesus is there and I hope you recognize him don't let unbelief blind your eyes invite him Lord stay with us and pray and ask Jesus to give 1:16:38 you a fresh baptism a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit if you never done that before shall we just pray Father we come to you we are so weak sometimes in our faith so slow of heart to believe all that you 1:16:59 have written and promised us please forgive us for our unbelief open our eyes to see the things we cannot see and help us not to be occupied with the things that we see that get us down may we have blessed eyes 1:17:19 like you said Jesus blessed eyes that many prophets and kings desired to see the things that we see but could not see them I pray that you would open many of our eyes this morning in Jesus name Amen we sing a song and then 1:17:36 we hear Brother Suresh God's God's God's 1:18:16 Let's sing this song. 1:18:43 The light of your love is shining. We want to recognize the light of God's love. And we want to turn and say, Lord, we want to see more. Open our eyes to see more and more of your love. 1:19:13 Lord, the light of your love is shining. In the midst of the darkness shining. Jesus, light of the world, shine upon us. Set us free by the truth you now bring us. 1:19:36 Shine on me, shine on me. Shine, Jesus, shine. Fill this land with the Father's glory. 1:19:56 Place, spirit, place, set our hearts on fire. Oh, river flow, flood this nation with grace and mercy. 1:20:16 Send forth your word, Lord, and let them deny. Lord, I come to your awesome presence. From the shadows into your radiance. 1:20:40 By the blood I may enter your brightness. Search me, try me, consume all my darkness. Shine on me. Shine on me. Shine, Jesus, shine. 1:21:05 Fill this land with the Father's glory. Place, spirit, place, set our hearts on fire. Your river flow, flood this nation with grace and mercy. 1:21:31 Send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light. As we gaze on your kingly brightness, so our faces display your likeness. 1:21:54 Ever changing, come glory to glory. Where and here may our lives tell your story. Shine on me. Shine on me. 1:22:15 Shine, Jesus, shine. Fill this land with the Father's glory. Place, spirit, place, set our hearts on fire. 1:22:35 Flow, river flow, flood this nation with grace and mercy. Send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. 1:22:57 Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. 1:23:03 Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. 1:23:07 Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Fill this land with the Lord, and let there be light. Yeah, I don't know if you heard, Brother Ian, he was saying, I believe we have a version 1:23:26 of this song, or we can just sing it that way. Before we think about the nations, we want to say, Lord, you fill my life. Fill my life. So let's go back to the chorus. Fill my life with the Father's glory. 1:23:51 Shall we sing it that way? Can you just go over the words beyond that? Fill this land with the Father's glory. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set our hearts on fire. Is that right? Yeah, okay, go ahead. Yeah. 1:24:10 Flood my life with grace and mercy. Amen. Thank you, Brother Ian. See, we must make this personal. So fill my life, flood my life. Let's sing that again. 1:24:32 Shine, Jesus. Shine, Jesus. Shine, fill my life with the Father's glory. With the Father's glory, with the Spirit's grace, set my hearts on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. 1:25:09 Once again, shine, Jesus. Shine. Shine, Jesus. Shine. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. 1:25:32 Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. 1:25:42 Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. 1:25:46 Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. Fill my life with the Father's glory, and then set my heart on fire. 1:26:18 Praise God, and thank you, brother Ian. Brothers and sisters, this is the central question. How do we respond to the light of God's love? How do we respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit? 1:26:41 If we go to, you know, the gospel, the verse that we all know, famous verse, John chapter 3, verse 16. It says, for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 1:27:11 As long as I read this verse like this, brothers and sisters, it will not save me. We write certificates sometimes, to whosoever it may apply, such and such. No, I need to put my name there. Need to say, Lord, you loved me so much. 1:27:37 And for those of us who know the Lord, we know there's a time in my life, when the light came on, I said, oh, I am that sinner, I am the man. And you died for me. Like the blind man said, you know, we know the story in John chapter 9. 1:27:57 The Pharisees were telling him all sorts of things, and he said, listen, I was blind. Now I can see. You can say whatever you like. But I was blind. Now I can see. I know that. It's the light of your love. And I believe that. 1:28:18 And then we see, but there's a difference, that there are some. In verse 19, it says, there is a judgment. For the light has come into the world, and men love the darkness rather than the light. For their deeds were evil. 1:28:36 For whoever does evil, hates the light, does not come to the light, for fear that his deeds will be exposed. So we know, brothers and sisters, both of these things are required. There's light and there's sight. If there's no light, we're in darkness. 1:28:53 If there's light and there's no sight, we're still in darkness. And what happens to these men? God has put in every man the ability to respond to his light, to his truth. But they hate the light. And they withdraw from the light. 1:29:14 And they go into the darkness. And that is the judgment. And brothers and sisters, this is not about the one time that we came to the Lord. Because at any point in our lives, we can either be saying, Lord, I want more of your light. 1:29:31 I want more of your love. I want to turn to you. I want my eyes to be open to see you. Because I will be transformed into your image. And I'm longing for your return. Or I can start turning away towards the darkness. And get distracted. 1:29:51 And get occupied with things. Yeah, I was just thinking of, as Brother Ian was sharing, that we have such a dim idea, dim picture of the glory of Christ. 1:30:16 The glory of Christ. Yeah, Paul says that in 2 Corinthians. He says, the God of this world has blinded the eyes of the unbelieving. And that's the question I must ask myself. Am I in that unbelieving? And the God of this world has blinded my eyes to the glory of Christ. 1:30:39 2 Corinthians 4, verse 4. If our gospel is veiled. He just spoke about the gospel. If our gospel is veiled. It is veiled to those who are perishing. Why are they perishing? Why have we not entered into this abundant life? 1:30:56 Overflowing life. That Jesus said that he wants to give us. I have come to give you life. And life abundant. If any man thirsts. Let him come to me and ask. And rivers of living water. Rivers of living water will flow out from him. 1:31:15 The God of this world has blinded the eyes of the unbelieving. That they might not see the light of the gospel. Of the glory of Christ. Who is the image of God. Yeah. Those eyes have not seen. Years have not heard. The heart has not imagined. 1:31:31 I was just looking at what Paul wrote. This is the apostle Paul. Who wrote all of these epistles. Who said, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be opened. To see Jesus. That the revelation. He says in 1 Corinthians 13. 1:31:49 We know that passage. It's all about love. And he talks about love. He's had a revelation of what true love means. The true love of God. God has shown him that. And at the end of all that. In verse 12. He says. 1:32:10 But now we see in a mirror dimly. He includes himself there. He doesn't say. You see. You know. He doesn't say. You see dimly. I can see clearly. No. He says. We see in a mirror dimly. There's a glory of Christ. That remains to be seen. 1:32:30 And he says. Then we will see him face to face. And I will know him. Just as I have been fully known. And the. Paul. Because of the faith. That God has written in his heart. Is longing for that day. He's eagerly waiting for that day. 1:32:47 Lord. I want to see you. And that was his whole journey. And this is going to be the culmination. He's saying. Lord. I still see dimly. We're not talking about physical sight over here. It's the eyes of his heart. That we're open to see. 1:33:01 In our spirits. We will see face to face. How much God loved us. Yeah. I was thinking about this songwriter. Fanny Crosby. She was blind. From. You know. A very young age. And. 1:33:22 I've spoken about her before. She said. I'm so glad. Because the first face that I will see. Is the face of Jesus. And I was trying to pull up. A particular hymn. That. That she. That she wrote. Don't know if it will open up. 1:33:39 Yeah. Maybe. Maybe it's. No. But she says. We will see him. Face to face. And tell the story. Saved by grace. One day. The silver cord will break. Not that she's longing for death. But. She's saying. My faith will be transformed to sight. 1:33:57 And I will see him face to face. And through her life. She continued to be. A fruitful source of hymns. And praise. And blessing. Because she was longing. That longing never went away from her. To come towards the light. 1:34:13 To see more of Jesus. Yeah. Peter describes it like this. We can. We can turn to. First Peter. 1:34:33 First Peter chapter 1. Verse 8. So he says two things here. One is he says. You have not seen him. Yeah. We have not seen him. With our physical eyes. We have not seen him. But with the eyes of our heart. 1:34:54 We have seen him. And just to say. Lord. I must see. More of you. More of your glory. Bible speaks of the revelation. On the final day. There will be those. Who stand before the Lord. And they say. To the rocks and mountains. 1:35:15 Fall on us. Hide us. We don't want to see. And then there will be those. Like Paul. And Fanny Crosby. Who say. Lord. I want to see. I can't bear to see. It's too. Too much for me. How much you've loved me. But I want to see. 1:35:32 I'm longing for that. And the Lord has put this faith in our hearts. Though you have not seen him. You love him. And though you do not see him now. But believe in him. Because we believe in him. And we greatly rejoice with joy. 1:35:48 Inexpressible and full of glory. I don't know. Brothers and sisters. If you know what I'm talking about. But I believe you have tasted of the kindness of the Lord. And you've tasted of those moments in your life. When you have those times of refreshing. 1:36:02 When the veil is lifted. And you see something of the love of God. And the joy of the Lord is your strength. And no temptation can touch you. And the Lord is saying. I've not changed. This is who I am. 1:36:24 The Lord. Jesus is the one who baptizes us. In the Holy Spirit and fire. And he's asking us to come to him today. Saying Lord. I really want this prayer. Flow river flow. Let your fire burn. Open my eyes that I might see you. 1:36:42 See more of you. Nothing else will matter. Nothing else will be of importance. There's another song I was thinking of. Once again. I don't know it by heart. Yeah. This one seems to be opening. So praise God. This is a song that Brother Zach has talked about. 1:37:05 Show me thy face. One transient gleam. Transient means it just passes by. Of loveliness divine. And I shall never think or dream of other love but thine. We know Paul saw something. We know Paul saw something. Of the glory of Jesus. 1:37:27 And his life was transformed. We know Sadhu Sundar Singh saw something of the glory of Jesus. And his life was transformed. But Jesus said. Blessed are you. Who have not seen. That's what he told Thomas. You have not seen. 1:37:41 But yet believed. Those are the ones who are blessed. So it's not some vision. Lord I must see some vision. I must see a dream. No. Lord open the eyes of my heart. To see your glory. And nothing else will touch me. That's it. 1:38:06 Show me thy face. The heaviest cross will seem light to bear. There will be gain in every loss. And peace with every care. With such light feet. The years will fleet. Life seem as brief as blessed. Till I have laid my burden down. 1:38:24 And entered into rest. Yeah. One Peter. Says. That. The prophets of old. Who searched the scriptures. In one Peter chapter 10. Says. This salvation. The prophets who prophesied of the grace to come. 1:38:46 Were longing and searching. And. It was revealed to them. That they were not serving themselves. But you. Who were they serving? See once again. I want to put my name there. I want to put my name there. They were not serving themselves. 1:39:03 But. Me. Suresh. They were serving me. In the things which have been announced to you. Through the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. And these are things into which angels long to look. What are these things? These things are the glory of Christ. 1:39:22 The glory of Jesus who came in our flesh. And walked before us. And set an example. And this is a path that the angels long to look into. But they don't have a flesh like ours. They don't have the privilege of following in his footsteps. 1:39:38 And we have that privilege. And it says therefore prepare your minds for action. Keep sober in spirit. Fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you. At the revelation of Jesus Christ. This is not at the end of my life. 1:39:52 When I go to heaven. No. Every step on the way. I will see something of Jesus. That's what stirs me up. That's what gives me strength. It's the eyes of my heart that have been opened by faith. And I fix my hope completely on him. 1:40:12 And I'm ready for action. I know that I will see Jesus. And that will be enough. In every trial. In every circumstance. The veil will be lifted. Because this longing is there in my heart. That's the hope that we have. Let's bow our heads. 1:40:30 Brothers and sisters. And pray. Loving Father. Thank you Lord for all that we heard. Thank you Lord for the light of your love. That's shown in our hearts. The light of the good news. And the good news is not just Lord. 1:40:44 That you have forgiven us. But that you will change us. By the power of your Holy Spirit. You will transform us into your image. Open our eyes to see Lord. The extent of your great love for us Lord. Open our eyes. Here we are Lord. 1:41:01 We want to commit ourselves. We want to thank you. For all that you spoke to us today. We pray in your mighty name Jesus Savior. Amen. We will have the announcements. 1:41:21 Presenting the book of this month. A spiritual leader. By Brother Zach Boone. The leaders of God's people have a great responsibility to demonstrate to the next generation what Christlikeness really means. 1:41:52 People who look at the way the leaders live, preach and serve should be able to see in them what it means to be a true servant of the Lord in the style of the apostles and prophets of old and not in the style of 20th century film star like evangelists. 1:42:13 A leader leaves behind him an image wherever he goes. An image that is going to remain in people's minds long after they have forgotten the messages that he preached to them. A spiritual leader will be such an example to others that he will be able to say to them, follow me as I follow Christ. 1:42:38 If you want to be such a leader, if you want to be such a leader, read this book. You can read this book free online at cfcindia.com slash books slash a spiritual leader. 1:43:02 Thank you. Thank you. 1:43:32 Thank you.
