And for giving us shepherds after Your own heart. Lord, we didn't deserve any of this, but in Your mercy, You gave all this to us. And I want to turn to Isaiah and chapter 32 to begin with. Here it speaks about a time in Isaiah 32, 15, where the spirit is poured out upon us from high 21:48 and the wilderness becomes a fertile field. Isaiah 32, 15. And the fertile field becomes like a forest. And then justice or righteousness will dwell in the wilderness and righteousness will then be in the field. And the work of righteousness will be peace 22:07 and the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. And my people will live in a peaceful habitation in secure dwellings and undisturbed resting places. There's a wonderful passage in Isaiah 32, verse 15 to 18, 22:22 which shows what will happen when the Holy Spirit is poured out. Why do I take that? Because CFC was born just like the early church through the baptism in the Holy Spirit. It was not born through any particular doctrine. 22:41 No. Doctrines are good, important, but you can be dead. The Pharisees had right doctrines. Jesus said that whatever they said was right, but there was no life in it. There was no power. There was no Holy Spirit. And so we mustn't think, 23:00 because we teach the new covenant in the church, we mustn't think that that is the basis of our church. It was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We were in another church where we were desperately in need, particularly Ian Robson and myself. 23:23 And we used to pray together, seeking God in our need, desperate, struggling, defeated by sin, born again, wanting to serve the Lord in full-time Christian work, but defeated. And we sought the Lord for months. And it didn't look as if anything was going to happen. 23:47 And then one day God met with him and with me separately, almost one day apart. And that was the beginning of something new. And then as we sought the Lord and began to proclaim this wonderful truth in that other church 24:04 about the baptism in the Holy Spirit, power from on high, that church did not want to hear it. And a brother came there and prophesied once, a brother from another country. That if that church did not listen to this message, 24:25 God would remove us from there and start a work in Bangalore, start a fire at which people from many, many places would come and warm themselves. And that was like a prophecy. We never took it very seriously then, 24:46 but as we look back now over 46 years, we can see how people from all over the world have come to warm themselves with the fire God lit in Bangalore 46 years ago. We must never forget that and must always be grateful for what God has done. 25:03 I'll never forget it. And I know Ian will never forget it either. Because that is a beginning, not only of church, it is a beginning of a new phase in our own life. Certainly in my own life, there's a turning point for me 25:15 in my life. I mean, if you were to ask the early apostles and disciples, what is the turning point in your life? It wasn't, it was, yes, of course, it was meeting with Jesus. Jesus breathed on them and they were born again. 25:32 But then something happened on the day of Pentecost. So then they were scared and sitting inside closed rooms and suddenly and the Holy Spirit fell upon them. It was not a gradual growth over a period of 10 or 20 years. 25:46 Suddenly, they were different. They got boldness and power to serve the Lord. And that's what happened to us. They didn't become perfect that day and we didn't become perfect either. But it was the beginning. It was like 26:02 switching on power. And then, you know, when power is there, so many engines can run and the light comes on in the house and so many things like that. And in terms of the language here in Isaiah 32, it speaks of a barren field. 26:19 And we were, Ian and I, were struggling with a barren field in our labors in that other church. And it says the spirit, when the spirit is poured out upon us from high, Isaiah 32, 15, the wilderness becomes a fertile field. 26:34 The fertile field becomes so full of trees like a forest and then justice will be, will dwell in the wilderness and righteousness, righteousness, righteousness. The next three sentences. Righteousness in the field and righteousness, 26:48 the work of righteousness will be peace, quietness and confidence forever. So that proclaiming of righteousness, which is the new covenant, began with us after the baptism in the Holy Spirit. So many of you may have understood 27:04 the truth of the new covenant in your mind and if you have a clever mind you can explain it, you know the verses and you can even probably teach it to others. But it will be, it will bring a result only if you are baptized in the Holy Spirit 27:22 and remain filled with the Spirit. Because to people who are baptized in the Spirit that Paul wrote in Ephesians 5.18 be continuously filled with the Spirit. And if there is one exhortation I would give to all of you as we begin 27:38 another year at the end of 46 years of God's presence with us, it is not understand the doctrine better. It's good to understand the doctrine better. But I feel that many of us could explain the doctrine better than those early apostles. 27:56 We have a Bible referred to and quote this verse and that verse the early apostles didn't have a Bible. They quoted a verse which was from memory and the people who listened to them never had Bibles. But what was it that made that 28:09 early church so powerful? It was not doctrine. It was a baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire. John the Baptist said Jesus will save you from your sins Matthew 1.21 and Jesus will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire Matthew 3.11 28:28 Those are the first two promises in the New Testament. And our church was built on the first two promises in the New Testament. Jesus can save you from sin and Jesus can baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire. He will. 28:45 And those who responded to both those invitations and allowed Jesus to do it in them become a part of a living church against which the gates of hell can never prevail. And I pray it will continue like that my dear brothers 29:00 and sisters. I hope those two first two promises in the New Testament will always be before your eyes. That you'll never be satisfied in your life without experiencing the reality of those two promises. That Jesus will save you 29:16 from your sins. Not only forgive you, thank God for that, there's forgiveness in the Old Covenant too. Psalm 103 says, Bless the Lord, O my soul, who forgives all your sins. And Psalm 32, where your sin is covered, blessed is that man. 29:31 And in our case, the sin is not covered, it is cleansed, blotted out. And the Lord says, I will not remember it anymore. But beyond that, beyond forgiveness and beyond justification, beyond our sins being cleansed is, are being saved, 29:48 lifted up from the pit of a defeated life. And being baptized means immersed, under, drenched under the waterfall of the Holy Spirit. I want to live under that waterfall all the days of my life. I don't, don't even want 30:08 a little finger in my hand to be outside that waterfall. every part of my being. I want to be completely under that waterfall every single moment. I don't want one single dirty thought ever to come into my mind. I don't want 30:22 to speak one rude, unkind word. I don't want to ever murmur or grumble or complain or ever get angry or ever lust after a woman. These are goals that we must have and we must proceed towards it quickly. This is the purpose 30:41 with which the Lord touches the Holy Spirit. If you read the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5, 6, and 7, that is the fertile field spoken of here, a life of victory and God's blessing upon us and overcoming the sins that defeat us. 30:59 He will save us from all those sins. So, when we began, we were, initially, only two of us, Ian and ourselves, but the wonderful thing is God united us. That's the other thing we found. The baptism 31:19 in the Holy Spirit not only gave us personal victory, but helped us to become one. That was not only the truth of being saved from sin, but becoming one body. And it had to be true 31:39 in our experience. And I found Annie, my wife, was 100% with me in this. And so, in our family life, she had been baptized in the Holy Spirit too. And so, unity in the family life, bringing up our children. We had only three sons then, 32:01 we have four sons now, but bringing up our children in godly ways is very, very important for her and to me. Living simply, not wasting our money, but being frugal in our expenditure. It's all part of the result of being filled 32:17 with the Holy Spirit. And being united in the body with those who wanted to go this way. And that's something we've experienced. I mean, my relationship with my wife has been glorious all these 46 years. And the way our children 32:38 grew up is wonderfully blessed. And in the church, my unity with Ian has been amazing these last 46 years. We have, we are so different like Paul and Barnabas, completely different. You know that 32:58 Ian is a tremendous encourager. He's the finest counselor in CFC. He has spent hours and hours and hours blessing so many people. And our ministry is different, our emphasis is different, but we were one. We were like two halves 33:16 of the body, a human body in our ministry. And God kept us united despite areas where we may have disagreed. If we disagreed, we waited until we agreed before we moved forward. I'm telling you how we worked all these 46 33:32 years. And that's the way it must be with all of you and for until Jesus comes again. It's not like in some churches where there's a strong dictatorial pastor who just lays down the rule and everybody just bows down and does 33:47 that. That's not the body. That's a dictatorship. But we could express our differences in the elders' meetings. We had freedom to say, well, brother, I disagree with you. I mean, people would say openly that they disagreed 33:59 with me. Good. Then that means that they were free to express themselves. And then we'd say, okay, well, I'm not perfect. None of us are perfect, but God has put us together so that together we can understand the mind of God 34:14 and move forward when we are united. So we would move forward in an area when we agreed on something. Until then we'd wait, but we'd never break the unity. And I can tell you this in 46 years that I fellowshiped with brother 34:27 Ian, there's not a single day, and that's not an exaggeration, there's not a single day in which I could not look him straight in the eye and fellowship with him. And being like him with me, him with me too. So this is very, very 34:42 important. I personally was defeated, but the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the fellowship of the church brought me into a wonderful life. One of my biggest sins was discouragement. I'd be frequently discouraged, frustrated, 35:00 and that's gone from my life. I can honestly say it's gone. Dear brothers, look for some area in your life where you're defeated and let's not just gloat over we've finished 46 years. Before we reach the next anniversary 35:17 next year, think of some area in your life. Make this a project where you want to overcome. Say, Lord, I want to be an overcomer. I want to experience Jesus saving me from my sin, not just forgiving me. And Lord, make me more 35:34 united with my wife. Help me to bring up my children in a more godly way than it has been all these years. Help me to become one with others in the body who are wholehearted, who may be different from me, but are wholehearted 35:49 and seem to follow you. And the other thing we found as the Lord built us together was that there was no distinction between rich and poor, educated or uneducated. All were the same. You couldn't come into CFC and find out 36:06 who was a laborer and who was a PhD. No. There was no such thing. We were one in the spirit and we were united. And I pray it will continue like that. And we have sought through the years to have a body ministry. 36:28 When we started out, the verse that the Lord gave us, let me remind you, is from Malachi chapter 1 and verse 11. We can never forget this because it's not something we sort of hunted for, 36:48 God gave it to us. And this, you know, Malachi is the last prophet, the old covenant was coming to an end. And we didn't know that, but the old covenant was coming to an end in our life too at that time. We didn't know about 37:04 the doctrine of the old covenant and the new covenant. And that came much later. So reality of the power of the Holy Spirit came first. You know, it's like a baby gets light first before it learns how to speak and how to 37:17 exercise its parts of its body. So here Malachi came, was sent as a prophet at a time when Israel was in a terribly backslidden state. In fact, they were so bad that they were offering to God those lame and the sick 37:37 animals from their flock. they were not giving the best to God. It's an insult to give a lame and a sick offering to God. God wants the rest. And the Lord said there, I wish there were some priests among you, 37:58 Malachi 1.10, who would shut the gates when somebody brings this lame and sick lamb or goat as an offering. But there were not people like that who were bold enough to shut the gates and say, no, God won't accept it. See, 38:15 when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit and we want to build a church, there has to be a strictness. You see that also in the early church that they were so strict that when Ananias and Sapphira came and were just hypocrites, 38:30 pretending. What is their sin? They didn't kill anybody. They were not molesting others or hurting others. They were not shouting out in anger or making a nuisance of themselves. They just were hypocrites and they died. 38:49 And Peter was the one and you know, he said, why has the devil made you tell a lie, Ananias? There was judgment there in the early church. So when you think of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it's a spirit that fills our 39:05 hearts with love, but it's first of all love for God, then love for another. The first commandment is not love your neighbor as yourself. So it's not a wishy-washy type of love. And God filled our hearts with where we just were 39:17 nice and good to each other and would never speak the truth to correct one another. We were ready to correct one another and remove especially all hypocrisy. And in this situation the Lord was virtually saying that he was 39:33 fed up with Israel and he was going to finish with Israel as a nation and Malachi was the last prophet. But the Lord said in a prophecy in Malachi 111, but from the rising of the sun to its setting, which means from east 39:48 to west, in other words, it will no longer be just Israel, one little nation. in every nation on the face of the earth, my name will be great, the Lord says. Among the nations, in every place, there will be a testimony to my 40:06 name, an incense that is going to be a name of offering that is pure, that's the emphasis that came to us. A pure offering in every place, and the Lord's name will be great among the nations. It won't be great preachers, 40:23 it will be a body in the name of Jesus will be exalted. But that pure offering is the phrase that came to us right at the beginning, and that's what we have stressed throughout these 46 years, and we have not stopped preaching. 40:38 We preach on that purity today just as much as we did at the beginning. So right at the beginning, the first thing that we studied was Luke chapter 14 where the conditions of discipleship 40:59 are mentioned. Because we saw the problem in Christendom is they were making believers who were not disciples. They were obeying the command in Mark 16 which says go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 41:13 He who believes and is baptized will be saved. Good. There were people doing that. That's evangelism. but they were not going on following on from there into Matthew 28 where it says in the last verses make disciples of 41:28 all nations then baptize them and teach them to observe to obey every single thing I taught you. Matthew 28 20. 18 to 20. So we felt there was something missing in Christendom. The message of discipleship is 41:48 like bringing babies to birth and then ignoring them. Imagine if a couple brought a baby to birth and left her on the roadside and then brought another baby to birth and left her on the roadside. That's how Christendom was. 42:03 Yes, babies were being born but they were not being brought up to maturity and many of them were what will happen to a baby that's just left on the roadside? It will die and that's what's happened in a lot of Christendom. 42:14 Lots and lots of people who are born again become backsliders. I would say one day when the history of all born again people becomes evident you will discover that the vast majority of them backslid. Probably 50-60% backslid. 42:31 So what's you use counting numbers? We have to make disciples and that's what we saw. We also saw that in Luke 15 where we read about a man having a hundred sheep and having lost one of them. Luke 15 verse 4. He leaves the 99 42:50 and goes after the one that is lost until he finds it. That's evangelist. Good. And then he brings them back. Brings that lost sheep into a fold. That's one thing. He doesn't just spend time with that sheep alone. He brings 43:07 that sheep back into the fold. And then the Lord says in verse 7, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who need no repentance. I want you to see something here. Here is 43:27 99 sheep in the fold and one sheep lost. That's the picture. But what is the meaning of that in spiritual terms? the one sheep that is lost is the one who has not repented. One sinner who repents. I'm reading from verse 7. 43:46 That's the lost sheep. And what about the 99 sheep in the fold? You see how they are described? The church, 99 righteous persons who need no repentance. That's the church. So show me a church where there are people who need 44:03 no repentance. Not that they're perfect. But they are repenting every day. That's the type of church we wanted to build. 99 people who are seeking to be free from sin. Repentance means to turn from sin. 44:25 And to have 99 righteous persons who need no repentance means 99 people who are really seeking to be free from all sin in their life. This is God's will. And this is the type of church God wants. 99 people who are defeated and 44:42 gossiping and backbiting and lusting and grumbling and complaining and loving money and doing all types of everything which we are warned against in the New Testament. That's how most churches are. So in such a case, that one 44:59 law sheet is better not to bring that law sheet into a fold where you have 99 people who are fighting with each other and who are grumbling and complaining and they've got so much sin in their life. Where husband and wife are 45:09 fighting with each other every day. What's the use bringing the law sheet into such a fold? It's far safer out there all by itself in the wilderness than in the midst of such a group of people. And that's how we saw so many 45:21 churches. We're not here to judge others. But we found it was like that in our life and in the churches we went to. And we saw the Lord wanted to do it differently. He wanted a church where people did not need repentance because 45:36 they were repenting every day. Not that they were perfect. It's not 99 people who were perfect. But who did not need repentance up to the current level of their understanding of sin in their life. You see, every one of us, there's a 45:50 current level right now. Just like you go to a school and you find someone in the kindergarten, someone in the first standard, someone in second standard, third standard, 10 standard, or 12 standard. There are different levels 46:01 at which people are. They're on school and so in a church also. There are people at different levels spiritually. It's true of every church drove out here. There are those who are newly converted like babes. There are those who 46:13 grown a little more, some more, and some more. There are people who are failing in one class, sitting in the same class for the next year, and some sitting in the same class for two years. We don't turn them out of the school. 46:23 We hope they will take their studies more seriously, but we're constantly teaching them here's something you need to learn, and they don't need any repentance. This is what we're teaching. You should live a life where you 46:38 don't need any repentance because you are repenting of every known sin. So that was our goal, where we seek to build people who are free from known sin, though unconsciously there could be so many areas in their life, in 46:55 every one of our lives, where there's sin that we are not aware of. So we decided to make disciples, we needed to know what the conditions of discipleship were, and that was described very clearly in Luke chapter 14 and 47:14 verse 25 onwards, three conditions of discipleship, and we preach that, we've spent a long time meditating on this. The first condition of discipleship was that we have to, Jesus used the word hate, father, mother, wife, 47:30 children, brothers, sisters, you cannot be disciples. In other words, a detachment from attachment, from a human attachment, our family members, even to brothers and sisters in the church. In other words, my love for Jesus must be 47:50 so great, so great that compared to that, my love for my fellow believers, I have to love my fellow believers, it's almost like hatred. It's something like, I do love my fellow believers like the light of the stars, there 48:04 is light in the stars, but when the sun rises, even though there's light in the stars, you can't see it, it's so bright. So that's the example here. I love my father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, but in the 48:18 light of the love of Jesus, it's almost as though my love for them disappears, it's so vast, it's like the sun blocks out, even though there's light in the stars, the sun blocks out the light of the stars. So that's the 48:30 first thing, that we must be detached from a human attachment to one another, our love for others must come through Christ, and we must love the Lord supremely, more than anyone on earth, more than even our brothers and 48:48 sisters in the church. And that is what God taught us first, and taught us to proclaim first. And then secondly, the second condition of discipleship, verse 27, take up your own cross and follow after me. That's a 49:08 subject which is almost not taught in any church. I remember once I attended a meeting many, many years ago of a lot of pastors meeting together, and then they broke up into little groups to discuss what does it mean to take 49:22 up the cross. And after about half an hour, they came back, and the person who was monitoring the whole thing got all the answers from all the groups, them, the substance of the answers was, we really don't know what it 49:34 means to take up the cross. Well, then you can't be a disciple. I would say you go to the average Christian today, born-again Christian, and ask him what does it mean to take up the cross, he doesn't know. Well, then he 49:46 can't be a disciple. What does it mean to take up not Jesus' cross, he carried his cross, but our cross, and Jesus said in Luke 9, 23, you have to carry that cross daily. It's not just once. Every single day, it's not something I can 50:02 do once. We are born again once, but you've got to take up the cross every day. And that's the other thing we discovered, that there's a strong self-will inside us. is because of all problems in homes, in offices, in factories, 50:18 everywhere, man's self-will, in churches, in prison, between Christian workers. And if that strong self-will is not crucified, if it's not put to death, there can never be a following of Jesus. If you're a disciple, it means 50:34 you're a follower of Jesus. You can never be a follower of Jesus if that strong self-will is not put to death. And so, that's the second thing we emphasize. We have to die. In every situation, I have to choose the way of death. 50:49 When I'm tempted, let me react like a dead man. When somebody irritates me, let me be like a dead man. If somebody gets upset with me, how does a dead man react? This is what we kept teaching in the early days. The third 51:03 condition of discipleship was our attitude to our possession. Luke 14, 33, you cannot be my disciple if you don't give up all your possessions. And we thought that possessions were what we possessed, held on to, tightly. 51:19 And the Lord said, you can have things, don't possess them. What that means is keep your palm open. That there, the possession is still there. It's yours. The house is in your name. The car is in your name. But you're not 51:34 holding it tight as though it belongs to you. It belongs to the Lord. Keep your possessions in an open palm and you won't possess them. Now, we've thought that from the beginning. How many people obey it, I don't know. But those 51:48 who do become disciples. And it's only disciples who can become one body. The rest are spectators. So we've had spectators in our church right from the beginning. But praise the Lord in the midst of the church, there is a core, 52:04 there is a body. You see, Jesus had a number of circles around him. One was a big circle of all the multitudes who heard him. And in the midst of that was another circle of 12 people who were his disciples. And in the midst 52:21 of that were a smaller group of 11 who were utterly faithful. One was a crook, Judas Iscariot. Then inside of that 11 was the still smaller circle of three, Peter, James and John, who were like an inner circle. So there 52:35 were different degrees, different concentric circles around Jesus. And Jesus was increasingly committed to the ones who were closest to him. So in the church also, we found not our relationship with everybody in the church 52:49 was not the same. It depended on their commitment to Christ and how serious they were about discipleship in their life. And that's true even today after what is in CFC. There are these different circles. Jesus is in the midst. 53:05 But his relationship with everyone is not the same. There are those who are like a multitude who come and listen regularly, who are faithful. And then there's an inner circle of 12 disciples and sometimes a smaller circle 53:18 of 11 with somebody who's approached who comes here with the wrong intention. And then there's a smaller circle of three. Wholehearted. I'm not talking about the numbers. I'm talking about different sizes of circles in a 53:29 church. So I used to be disturbed in the early days that everybody was not a whole hearted disciples. Then I learned how Jesus also had these different circles and so I recognized that naturally my fellowship will be much 53:45 more with those who are closest to the Lord. See, I think of the spokes in a bicycle wheel. Think of a bicycle wheel with all the spokes coming in from the outer end. In the beginning, we're all like spokes right at the outer 54:01 end and the center is Jesus. We come closer and closer and closer to Jesus. But you see, as we come closer and closer and closer to Jesus, this one spoke in the wheel, it becomes closer to another spoke in the wheel as well, which 54:15 is also coming closer to Jesus. So when these spokes come closer, they come closer to each other as well. But if there's a spoke there that does not come close to Jesus, it won't be close to the other spokes. So our closeness to 54:29 others is not determined by language, personality, which community you belong to, which state you belong to. No. It's determined by how close are you coming to the center, to Christ. I pray it'll be like that in the days 54:42 to come. I urge you, my brothers and sisters, come close to Jesus. Let this be a year in which you seek with all your heart to be a disciple, to love Jesus more than anyone on earth, your relatives, your family members, 54:55 even the brothers and sisters in the church. And where you decide from now on you're going to ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to put yourself to death, to put the flesh to death. Those who are Christ have crucified 55:09 the flesh with its affections and lusts, it says in Galatians 5 24, and who seek to be detached from possessions. Very, very important. The second thing we took a lot of time teaching in those days was Matthew 5, 6, and 55:26 7. We spent weeks and weeks and weeks on Matthew 5, 6, and 7, beginning with being poor in spirit, recognizing our own need, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, mourning for our sins, being merciful to other people, 55:45 seeking purity of heart, seeking to be at peace with others, never fighting, because the Bible says we don't struggle with flesh and blood. We found we had authority over Satan, but another thing we discovered after the 56:00 baptism of the Holy Spirit, that demons were afraid, we could cast out demons in the name of Jesus. So many things happened, authority over Satan. But the Lord made it clear to us that if you fight with flesh and blood, you 56:15 won't have authority over Satan. Ephesians 6, verse 10 to 18 says, we do not fight with flesh and blood, Ephesians 6, 12, but with evil forces. You have a choice. You either fight with Satan or you fight with human beings. 56:29 Fight with your wife or fight with Satan. Fight with your husband or fight with Satan. Fight with other believers or fight with Satan. What about if other people come and fight with you? You refuse to fight. You can go and try 56:39 to fight with the dead man. He won't respond. You can't stop other people from coming to fight with as much as it lies in you, live peaceably with all men. That's the command in Romans 12 and Hebrews 12. As far as we're 56:56 concerned, we pursue peace. And the other person is not interested in peace. What can I do? I'm going to pursue peace. So sometimes pursuing peace with all men meant that we avoid meeting certain people, avoid going to certain 57:11 houses. Because they are such quarrelsome people that as soon as you meet them or go to their house, there's an argument begins. And I hate arguments. Even about doctrine. I will never argue with a person about doctrine. 57:26 I don't find Jesus arguing with anybody about doctrine. He proclaimed the truth and they didn't accept it, fine. I mean, if somebody is ignorant and wants an explanation, I'm willing to spend one or two hours with them. 57:39 I've done that also. But if somebody wants to argue and prove that I'm wrong, I'm not going to argue with him, she said, no, I will not struggle with flesh and blood. That's how I have preserved my authority over Satan. 57:53 I want to say to you, dear brothers, this is another area. Make this a coming year, an area where you have more authority over Satan and decide you're never going to fight with flesh and blood in this coming year. There's no 58:07 one in your family. Maybe you've fought in the past, but it won't be there anymore. Don't fight. Die and let the Lord do the fighting thing. Now, don't misunderstand me. Parents have to discipline their children. That's something 58:23 taught in scripture that we were very strict with. We taught very clearly that if you can't bring up your children properly, you really have no ministry in the church. No. But what are you going to teach others if you can't teach your 58:38 own children to follow the Lord? Begin with your children. Begin with your family. That's another thing we emphasize very much. So I just mentioned these are some of the things that we have emphasized right from the beginning so 58:52 that those who are here and were not there in the beginning can understand. A lot of people left us. Hardly anybody left with us who was there right from day one. And many are still sticking around with us today. We're not 59:09 really wholehearted and radical. And ultimately the ones who accomplish God's purpose are those who are radical. You remember Gideon had a huge army, about 30,000 men or something, and God reduced it to 300 before he went to fight 59:27 the battle. He said, no, first he reduced it to a smaller amount of 10,000 or something. And the Lord said, this is too much. They're not wholehearted. Then he reduced it to a small number and defeated the huge enemy with that 59:41 small number. That's how it is, even today. Gideon said it was the sword of the Lord that won the victory and it's the same today. It's with a small number that God accomplishes his purpose. When Jesus wanted to evangelize the 59:56 whole world and start a ministry that would last but 2,000 years, you know how many people he chose? Twelve. One dropped out and God found another. I believe the twelve one God chose is Paul who came in later. And with those twelve, 1:00:14 he started the work that's gone on for 2,000 years and produced wonderful disciples in all these centuries. It was not with a big crowd or with a big advertising campaign, no. God's work has always been done throughout the 1:00:27 world with a small group of people. And we knew that God wanted us also to spread the news across the world. And so initially we used to pray, Lord, is there anybody in this area of Bangalore who are seeking for a godly 1:00:43 life, bring them in touch with us. Then the Lord brought some in touch with us. Then we prayed that God would add more, bring more in touch with us. In India perhaps, and then gradually to the whole world. And now, we didn't 1:00:56 know how we would ever reach the world. We don't have the resources, we don't have the people. But then God gave us YouTube and the internet, through which we have reached people from the remote in every continent we have 1:01:10 reached. Our messages go to 180 countries. A word for the week and the messages on YouTube all over the world. We never did that. We didn't have the financial resources, but God 1:01:30 decided this is a message that needs to go everywhere. Dear brothers, I'm just trying to give you a history of all this so that you can rejoice in what God has done. But we don't sit back, we forget the things that are behind. 1:01:45 So as we come to this beginning of a new year for our church, we're not going to sit and gloat over what's happened in the past. No. Forgetting the things that are behind. You must know what the Lord has done. Definitely. 1:01:59 And I say this for the benefit of those who don't know. But we are not going to sit and thank God for all that's happened. We're going to press towards the future to do greater things for the Lord. The other thing, there 1:02:16 must be another generation that has to come up. Ian and I are in our 80s. And God needs, the early apostles died in their 60s. God's given us longer life from that. We praise the Lord. But God needs another generation. Even if we 1:02:36 live for many, many more years, God still needs another generation to do the work. He needs wholehearted brothers in the 60s and 40s and 20s. And I pray that there will be folks like that at every age level who are wholehearted 1:02:52 and radical and who really want to be disciples. You may not be able to preach powerfully like some others can, but who are disciples and seek to make others disciples by personal conversation. You don't have to be a preacher 1:03:06 to make your son or daughter a disciple. You don't have to be a preacher to share with your brother or sister something that will encourage them and challenge them. Make this a year when you will say, Lord, I want to make 1:03:21 disciples in my home. I want to make disciples wherever I meet. I want to be an encouragement to others, even if I can't make disciples. Let me do one thing. Here's a challenge I want to give to you for the new year. In 1:03:35 Hebrews and chapter 3. If you have 365 days between now and the next anniversary date, let's obey Hebrews chapter 3 verse 13. as far as possible every day. Hebrews 3. 13 says encourage one another every single day. 1:03:55 As long as it is called today so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Maybe you've got victory and you're not getting hardened. Maybe there's somebody living next to you or who you know in the church who's 1:04:08 in danger of getting hardened. Don't say I'm not my brother's keeper. That's what Cain said. I'm not my brother's keeper. That's the way of Cain. If you're a child of God, you'd say I am my brother's keeper. And so I don't 1:04:26 want him to be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. So how can I do that? I don't have to preach a great message to him. I want to encourage him. Whenever I get an opportunity, encourage others every single day as long as 1:04:39 it is called today. So keep that verse in mind and say, Lord, I want to fulfill that in this coming year. Encourage one another day after day so that anyone who comes in touch with him will get encouragement. Leave it to the 1:04:57 prophets to rebuke and correct and do things like that. You say, Lord, I'm not a prophet. I want to engage in the ministry which every believer needs to encourage to encourage, encourage, encourage. Take that ministry seriously 1:05:14 because around us are a lot of people, even in our own church here, who can be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Sin is deceitful. And coming back to what I mentioned in the beginning, if you are not sure that you 1:05:32 are filled with the Holy Spirit and receive power from on high, determined today to seek God until God himself gives you an assurance that you are filled with the Holy Spirit. I'm talking about individual Christians, not as a 1:05:48 group. You don't have to go to any prayer meeting. You remember what John the Baptist said, he pointed to Jesus, he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit. Sometimes people come to me, say, please lay your hands on me, pray for 1:05:59 that I'll be filled with the Holy Spirit. I said, no, I can baptize you in water like John the Baptist said, but he's the one who baptized in the Holy Spirit, Jesus, go to him. I went to him and I found that he's the one who 1:06:11 baptized me in the Holy Spirit and the same one who baptized me in the Holy Spirit can baptize you. Go to him. Dear brothers and sisters, any one of you is not assured that God Jesus Christ has baptized you in the Holy Spirit, 1:06:28 immersed you in the Holy Spirit, filled you with the Holy Spirit, whichever word you use, go to him and say, Lord, I will not rest until you fill me with the Holy Spirit and until you give me an assurance. I will never take 1:06:40 an assurance from man. I'll get it only from you, Lord. I decided that. I took five, six years to be sure of my salvation and I took many more years to be sure of being filled with the Holy Spirit. But I thank God that in 1:06:51 both cases that my sins are forgiven, I got that assurance from the Lord, that I was filled with the Holy Spirit, I got assurance from the Lord in my spirit. I would not take it from man. What's the testimony of man? He doesn't 1:07:03 know my heart. So, dear brothers, don't be satisfied that somebody else thinks you are born again. You may not be. Or somebody else thinks you are filled with the Spirit. That's worth nothing. You go to the Lord and say, 1:07:15 Lord, you're the one who fills with the Holy Spirit. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and give me that assurance. I seek you with all my heart. If you thirst, He will fill you. I want to close with an assurance of what 1:07:38 God can do for you. Perhaps just a couple of verses. One in Luke chapter 11 and verse 13. If you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more, how much more, how much more, how much more will your 1:07:58 heavenly Father give the fullness of the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? Think of how you would not deny your hungry child food and you think you are thirsty for the Lord's power, the power of the Holy Spirit He will deny you. 1:08:13 Impossible. He will give to you. And the other words I want to leave with you is James chapter 1. We face so many situations in life where we don't know the answer. Never mind. James 1 says, if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask 1:08:27 God. James 1 5, can he give to everyone to everyone freely without reproach? It will be given to anyone. But let him ask in faith. Do you lack wisdom for some situation? Come here, keep these two verses in mind. 1:08:47 Luke 11 13 and James 1 5 and 6 for your own life and in your relationship with others I told you, Hebrews 3 13. Can you remember these verses? Hebrews 3 13, encourage one another. Luke 11 13, how much more your heavenly 1:09:06 father will give you the Holy Spirit. And James 1, 5 and 6, you lack wisdom in any situation, seek God. And I believe this coming year will be even better than any year gone by. Let's pray. our heavenly father. Please help 1:09:25 us to be the church that you want us to be. I am swinging, I am swinging, swinging on the snowy wing. We are the body of Christ, we are the body of Christ, together bringing His love to the world. 1:14:07 We work together, we work together, we work together, we do it with co-operation. 1:14:28 Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen. 1:14:58 I praise the Lord and thank Him for this opportunity that I can share my thoughts with all of you, my brothers and sisters, on this 46th anniversary of CFC. 1:15:19 We praise the Lord for all the way He has led us in all these years and we bless and glorify His name. I want to share with you a word first from Zechariah in chapter 4 and reading verses 6 and 7. 1:15:41 I want to read that to you from the Living Bible. Then he said, "This is God's message to Zerubbabel, not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit," says the Lord Almighty. "You will succeed because of my spirit, though you are few and weak. 1:16:02 Therefore no mountain, however high, can stand before Zerubbabel." That is Jesus, refers to Jesus. He says, "For it will flatten out before Him." And Zerubbabel, put Jesus' name there, "will finish building this temple," that is His church, 1:16:22 "with mighty shouts of thanksgiving for God's mercy, declaring that all was done by grace alone." In a version that we have before us, He says, "The top stone would be laid with shouts of grace, grace to it." 1:16:49 And that is what we can testify to, Brother Zach and myself and all of those who were there in the beginning. I think there is only maybe just one family or one brother with us. But all was done by grace alone. 1:17:11 It was grace upon grace and the building, Jesus will finish building His church with shouts of grace, grace to it. That's how it is and that's the grace that must be upon us as a church. That's the grace that God gives us and puts upon our lives, that we may build His body in these last days together with Him. 1:17:37 And there's a verse then, verse 10, I want to draw your attention to. It says in one version, it says, "Who would dare despise the day of small things or the day of small beginnings?" In this version, it says, Zechariah 4:10, "The people should not think that small beginnings are unimportant. 1:18:04 They will be happy when they see Zerubbabel with tools and rethinking of Jesus, building the temple." These are the seven eyes of the Lord. That refers to the Spirit of the Lord, which looked back and forth across the earth. 1:18:24 So, I want to share this as my testimony, as a reminder for myself particularly, as well as for the church. And that we will do well to take heed too. I want to share three very important truths that I have learned and continue to learn as I've been in CFC for these 46 years. 1:18:52 Right from the very beginning. By the way, it's interesting to note, there's only one reference, and I'm looking up 46 years and see what happened 46 years. There's only one reference, and that's in the New Testament in John chapter 2, verses 19 to 22. 1:19:11 So, Jesus answered them, that is the Pharisees. And when they were asking him for a sign, this is destroy this temple and in three days, I will raise it up. The Jews then said, "It took 46 years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?" 1:19:31 But he was speaking of the temple of his body. So, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus has spoken. And so, it's very significant. 1:19:44 And so, it's very significant. That's the only reference there, which refers to the body of Christ. And there, he was speaking about his physical body. Destroy this temple and in three days, I will raise it up. And that's what has happened. 1:20:01 God has raised up the church through the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit. He raised Jesus from the dead, and when he poured upon his disciples the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, there was something that was raised up which can never be destroyed. 1:20:24 And that continues to go on until Jesus finishes his work. And as we read, the top stone will be laid with shouts of grace, grace to it. So, I see that we were called, separated, and anointed. And right in the beginning, 46 years ago, to build his body, the body of Christ on earth. 1:20:50 The spiritual body of Christ that you and I can have a part of. And we don't take any credit for the 46 years. We don't boast about 46 years. What we need to boast about is that the body of Christ is being made ready, and we have a part. 1:21:06 We've been given a privilege, you know, to have a part in it. And so, we praise the Lord for this grace. And so, in Zechariah 4:10, it says, "Do not despise the day of small things or small beginnings. Like little drops of water make a mighty ocean. 1:21:23 Like a little spark can set a forest on fire." So, God begins, and he needs us. He needs you and me in building this body and being ready for completion when he will come to return to take us to himself. 1:21:44 So, looking back 46 years ago, I must say, I got tired of the life, my life that was only outward. And then, Brother Zach has justified also to the same thing. And I must say, it's like what the Holy Spirit says in Isaiah 29:13. 1:22:06 That God's complaint against his people was that they had a reverence and an devotion to him that was consisting of tradition learned by routine. My inner life had hit rock bottom. I had a testimony as the assistant pastor of the church, Brother Zach was a pastor. 1:22:32 But we knew just where we were inwardly, spiritually. So, the first thing I learned, and I know some of you have heard it before, but for the generation growing up among us, you need to hear this. Because this is so important. 1:22:51 It was August 17, 1975 when the church was born in Brother Zach and Sister Annie's home. But very few of us probably know the beginnings of that, that it happened before 1975. 1:23:12 At the end of 1974, when we were faced with problems with the young people who were ministering to in the Baptist Church, and with all the powerful messages that were being preached, nothing happened. Nobody took their life seriously. 1:23:29 On the last night of that camp, when Brother Zach and another English brother also together with us, and myself, we knelt together for prayer and we cried out to the Lord. We poured our hearts out to the Lord for our young people, asking God, at least in the last day, that God would visit us. 1:23:51 And I can remember very vividly as we knelt there with our hands up in desperation, crying out to the Lord. And the Lord said very clearly to me, "The problem is not so much with the young people of your church. 1:24:12 The problem is not so much with us. The problem is with you." I believe that Brother Zach felt the same thing. So what I learned, what I began to learn from there, to take the blame not only for my own failures, but for the failures of others. 1:24:28 In the beginning, Adam failed. He failed when they disobeyed God. But if he had only taken the blame for their failure, instead of putting the blame on Eve, if he had only said, "It's me, Lord. 1:24:48 I'm the one. I'm to blame. I'm responsible for my wife's disobedience. I'm responsible for us doubting your love and listening to the lie of the devil that came through the serpent." If he had only done that, I believe things would have been different. 1:25:05 Jesus would still need to come to redeem us because sin had ended the human race. But if Adam took the blame, instead of blaming his wife, and say, "It's me, Lord." I believe the results would have been different. Of course, sin had already come and they disobeyed God. 1:25:27 But then maybe women would not have to bear children in pain. Maybe Adam would not have to slog so much by the sweat of his brow. But definitely, the results would have been different as it was for us. That was the beginning of CFC. 1:25:44 When we took the blame upon ourselves. When we said, "Lord, it's I, it's me in need." Not so much the young people as the Lord said to us. This was a small beginning. And I want you to remember that, my brothers and sisters. 1:26:02 Because if this church is to go on, and if we are to continue to be a testimony for the Lord in your generation. As we have sought to be in our generation. We need to make this small beginning. Take the blame. Take the blame not only for my own failure, but the failure of others. 1:26:23 Take the blame for my family, for my wife, for your husband, for our children. If they fail, Lord, I'm to blame. I've said that to the Lord as much as recently. I'm to blame, Lord. I want to say that to all of us who are parents. 1:26:44 If your children, my children go straight even after marriage. I must take the blame. And say, Lord, I failed somewhere. Have mercy. It's all we can cry out to God for. So, anyway, that went on. It was a few months after that, that one began to work in our hearts and brother Zach's mind. 1:27:11 We would meet for prayer sometimes. But both of us really sought the Lord individually, independently. And there came a time when the second small beginning happened a few months later. As we sought the Lord for ourselves and for the people we shepherded in the Baptist Church, God began to move in our lives. 1:27:39 And meanwhile, the Lord brought two of his servants, one at one time, Anglican minister, another Presbyterian minister, who ministered to our need. And as a result, helped many people to come into the baptism of the Holy Spirit. 1:27:58 But for us, it happened in one week when we had an extra meeting. And I believe that was for me because I was really asking the Lord. I said, I'm willing to publicly confess my need if need be. 1:28:20 I'm willing to go forward. And in that prayer meeting in the Baptist Church, the last day that this brother was going to be there with us, I remember as I knelt there, God spoke. This is the second time that God spoke to my heart. 1:28:41 This time he told me that the problem was not with young people, but with me. This time the Lord said to me, is your need greater than your desire for ministry here? And I was weeping. I said, Lord, my need is greater than my desire for ministry here or anywhere else. 1:29:14 I was willing to quit full-time work and go and look for a secure job after having left my job on the railways after working for nine years, come out to serve the Lord. I was willing to do that again. I said, Lord, my need is greater. 1:29:33 And when an invitation was given to come and pray, I was really scared. All the board members were sitting there. Brother Zach was there. I did not know what happened to him the previous Sunday. He had not shared with me yet that he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. 1:29:49 But I went up and I acknowledged my need. And then when the brother asked me what I wanted prayer for, I said, I want an assurance of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And he said something to me, which was a word of wisdom from the Lord. 1:30:10 And I was convicted or unbelieved because seven years earlier, the Lord did baptize me in the Holy Spirit on the roof of a Brethren Assembly where I was living when I gave up my job on the railways and living in the church, sleeping on a mat and a pillow in the office. 1:30:28 And just with a suitcase of a few clothes, having sold everything else that I possessed. Because I wanted and the Lord had done such a work in my life. I wanted to share it with others. And there one night after my water baptism, the Lord baptized me in the Holy Spirit and fire. 1:30:51 So that happened when I was convicted of one sin that I never saw as the greatest sin that we can ever be guilty or worse than any other sin. That's the sin of unbelief. 1:31:12 And I prayed, I said, Lord, forgive me for unbelief. Forgive me that I didn't believe what you did for me seven years ago. And because of fear and seeking the approval of men, I closed up in unbelief. But at the moment I confessed and asked the Lord's forgiveness for unbelief, the floodgates in my heart opened up. 1:31:40 The river began to flow. It stopped up seven years earlier. And I was filled with the Holy Spirit. I began to speak in tongues, you know, not loudly, but I began to praise the Lord like I did in the beginning. And that was, I see that the second thing that we need to be willing to make ourselves of no reputation, willing to lose our testimony as a spiritual brother, as a godly brother, whatever it is. 1:32:17 I'm willing to lose my reputation. I'm willing to forgo my testimony and acknowledge my need and confess it to the Lord. And that's what the Lord did for me. The rivers began to flow. It has never stopped ever since. Jesus made himself of no reputation, my brothers and sisters. 1:32:40 Let's remember that. Not just when he left heaven. You can trace it all through his earthly life. And when he went back to heaven. It's a good study to do, to see how in the different situations he made himself of no reputation. 1:32:56 It is confrontation with the devil in the wilderness. If you are the son of God, the devil taunted him. The devil, Jesus retorted, Jesus confronted him. He confronted him. It is written in the word of God. He didn't try to manifest himself as the son of God. 1:33:18 So you can see that all through. When they wanted to make him a king. Because he had fed them. He ran away. He, when it hid himself. When he took a basin of water. And girded himself with a towel to wash the disciples feet. 1:33:36 He did what he did right from the very beginning. He emptied himself. He made himself of no reputation. And if you and I are going to have a part in what God is doing. That is the way we have to follow. We have to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. 1:33:52 To make ourselves of no reputation. Not protect our testimony in CFC. We want the others to stay highly of us. We want to be commended. We want to be known as a spiritual brother. We want to be known as a spiritual sister. 1:34:06 So on. All this rubbish. That is why the church suffers. That's why our families suffer. I thank the Lord for showing me that right from the very beginning. To follow in his footsteps. To make myself of no reputation. Anyway, all that led. 1:34:28 All that God did in that meeting. And subsequently. When Brother Zach was asked. To leave the Baptist church. And. They wanted me to continue. But I said. If it's concerning the word of God. And what is my conviction. What I believe. 1:34:45 I stand for the word of God. If he leaves. I leave too. So that is. The story in a nutshell. That's. When. August 17, 1975. When we. Left. The Baptist church. And we said. We're going to meet for prayer. We're not planning to start another church. 1:35:03 We didn't know what we were going to do. There were. Five or six families. Who wanted to join us. We said. No. You can go back. You don't have to leave. They said. No. They didn't want to go back. Whatever they have. Learned and experienced. 1:35:17 Would have been thrown down. So they joined us. We said. We'll meet and seek the Lord. So we gathered for prayer. In Brother Zach. And Andy's home. That evening. It was a time. Open heaven. The Lord. Really visited us. Hold out his spirit. 1:35:31 Upon us. And then. Gave us a word. To encourage us. That's the third thing. I wanted to see. That one man. With God. Is a majority. Like we. Often. Have heard. From Brother Zach. One man. With God. 1:35:51 Is a majority. He doesn't. The Lord. Does not lead. Large numbers. If I'm willing. To take the blame. For my failure. And the failure. Of others. If I'm willing. To make myself. Over no reputation. Empty myself. And follow. 1:36:06 In the footsteps. Of Jesus. That's enough. For God. He doesn't need. Large numbers. Quite the opposite. Of the way. The world. Thinks. And works. I want you to look. At a word. In Isaiah 51. In verse 3. Listen to this. Listen to me. 1:36:25 You who pursue righteousness. Who seek the Lord. Look to the rock. From which you were hewn. And to the quarry. From which you were dug. Stop here to. I'm reminded. Of what Babu told. His brothers. What they testified to. 1:36:40 Never forget. From where you came from. Never forget. Your humble beginnings. And I say that. To all of us. It's gone well. With. Most of us. In many ways. Financially. And. With our families. And our children. Mostly. Never forget. 1:36:58 Where we began. Look to the rock. From which you were dug. The quarry. From which you were. Brought forth. And. It says. Verses 2 and 3. Isaiah 51. I'm reading. Look to Abraham. Your father. And to Sarah. Who gave birth to you. 1:37:18 In pain. When he was one. I called him. Then I blessed him. And multiplied him. Indeed. The Lord. Will comfort. He will comfort. All her waste places. And her wilderness. He will make. Like Eden. And her desert. Like the garden of the Lord. 1:37:36 Joy. And gladness. Will be found in her. Thanksgiving. And the sound of her melody. Then it says in verse 6. Listen to me. You who know righteousness. A people in whose heart. Not in whose head. Is my word. My law. And again. 1:37:54 In Deuteronomy chapter 7. Verses 7 and 8. It says. Here's a word. That we can. We always remember. For all the years. And all that God has done. In our lives. And put us in the church. Deuteronomy 7. Verses 7 and 8. The Lord did not set his love on you. 1:38:10 Nor choose you. Because you were more in number. Than any of the peoples. For you were the fewest. Of all peoples. But. Because the Lord loved you. And kept the oath. Which he swore to your fathers. The Lord brought you out. 1:38:25 By a mighty hand. And redeemed you. From the house of slavery. From the hand of Pharaoh. King of Egypt. And again. Psalm 105. We remind it again. It says. The Lord says. I'll give you the land of Canaan. As an inheritance. 1:38:41 It says. When there were only a few men in number. Very few and strangers in it. But this is what we need to remember. And. All through our lives. Our lives. That is because the Lord loved us. And he doesn't need numbers. 1:38:58 He can finish his work. If one man. If few men. And women. Sisters. Are also. Offer themselves available. So. The word the Lord gave us that day. Was a word in Revelation 3. Revelation 3. Verse 7 to 13. 1:39:18 I don't have time to read it. But I want you to look at it. A few things there. And. Jesus says to this church. Philadelphia. I know your deeds. Revelation 3. Verse 8. Behold. I put before you. An open door. Which no one can shut. 1:39:35 That was the prophetic word. That came to us. 46 years ago. I put before you. An open door. Which no one can shut. And now listen to this. Because. Not you have. Great power. Great power. Because you have. Little power. 1:39:55 Because you have. Little power. Because you have. Kept my word. And have not. Denied my name. To stand for me. Because you have. Kept the word. Of my perseverance. I also will. Keep you. Will keep you. From that. Art of testing. 1:40:12 That has come upon. The whole world. I want you to know that. My brothers and sisters. It's good. That we remember this. Always. We don't need. Great power. God doesn't need. Numbers. One man is enough. A few men. A few families. 1:40:28 Is enough. Who wholeheartedly. Give themselves. To the Lord. And God. Puts before us. Like he said. 46 years ago. And that door. Is still open. I put before you. An open door. Which no one can shut. Take that. As a word. 1:40:45 For ourselves. For our family. For our children. Because. You have a little power. Little power. And kept my word. You're not denied my name. You take a stand for me. In your office. Among your neighbors. You're willing to be different. 1:41:02 You kept. The word of my endurance. I'm coming quickly. He says. I'm coming quickly. He says. I'm coming quickly. More quickly. More quickly. Than you and I. Really recognize. Hold tight. What you have. Hold tight. What you have. 1:41:20 Hold tight. What you have. Let no one take your crown. Let no one take your crown. That's the word on my heart. I want to share with us. As we complete 46 years. We are called to build the body of Christ. Not. An institution. 1:41:39 An organization. Or a building. God may give us the buildings. But all this. All these buildings will be torn down. Remember that. Not one stone would be left upon another. Only that. Which is not a man. Will stand. That which is not created. 1:41:58 That is. Which is born of the Holy Spirit. Like CFC was born 46 years ago. Maybe you're the only one in your family. In your community. In the place where you live. Where there's no witness or testimony for the Lord Jesus. 1:42:13 Take the blame. Take the blame. Take the blame. Take the blame. Lord. I've failed. I've been a coward. Offer ourselves to the Lord. Even if you're the only one in your family. Humble yourself to say. 1:42:35 Lord. I take the blame for. My failure. To be a witness for you. And for the failure of others. Offer yourself to the Lord. To the Lord. My dear brother and sister. My dear young person. Offer yourself to the Lord. There's no. 1:42:51 No limit to what God. Will do for you. He'll put before you an open door. In everything. Where no one can shut. Whatever it is. When it comes to a job. When it comes to marriage. When it comes to. Different other things. 1:43:07 When it comes to our children. When it comes to our children. I put before you an open door. Which no one can shut. Because we have a little power. And we can. That power can become. Greater. In our lives. As we yield ourselves to him. 1:43:21 As we offer ourselves to him. And. God can complete his work. In us. And through us. So. As we come. To another new year. As a church. Perhaps. We see a lot of coolness. And indifference. In the church. Because numbers have increased. 1:43:41 Like they have in CFC. Bangalore. Perhaps. We see people around us. Become worldly. And. Not really interested. In a godly life. They want to listen to good music. And songs. And. And. Preaching that will tickle their gifts. 1:43:56 Perhaps. There's. Those who hold to CFC tradition. A tradition that you've learned. You've learned the language of CFC. It's not going to help. My brothers and sisters. God will have to say to you. As he said to the people. 1:44:11 And I as I say. These people draw near to me. With their lips. But their hearts are far from you. They have a tradition. They've learned by routine. The hearts are far from you. May God help us. Hold out his spirit upon us. 1:44:29 Give us a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit. Give us a second touch. Call it whatever you want. I know. I need not just a second touch. I need a third touch. A fourth touch. I need to. Be touched by the Lord. So that. There's no stillness. 1:44:48 That there will be a freshness in my life. There will be an anointing continually upon me. And that we can. Continue to. Build the body of Christ. So let's think of these things. The three important truths that I've learned and continue to learn. 1:45:07 Let's take the blame. For our failures and the failures of others. Whoever it may be. Our family. Our children. And maybe people we minister to in the church. Young people. Teens. We take the blame. Lord, it's me. I'm in need. 1:45:26 And I'm willing to make myself of no reputation. I'm willing to lose my testimony. Not guard my testimony. Or what will the brothers think of me? What will the elders think about me? Forget it, my brother and sister. Let's learn to live before the Lord. 1:45:44 And let's hold fast what we have. Let's hold fast to his word. Not deny his name. I'm coming quickly. Jesus says the last words in Revelation. The last words in scripture. I am coming quickly. 1:46:06 May our response be. Today. As we enter another year as a church. Even so. Come. Lord Jesus. Even so. Come. Lord Jesus. Let's pray. 1:46:30 Let's think a little while of what God has. said to us this morning. What we heard earlier. And to what. I've shared. With you. What God has spoken to my own heart. May we humble ourselves and say, Lord. Lord, I'm in need. 1:46:51 I'm in need. It's not my wife. It's not my husband. It's not my husband. It's not my children. It's me, Lord. It's me. Standing in need. Will you meet with me? Will you. Give me a second touch. Open my eyes afresh. 1:47:11 To do your will. To fulfill your purpose. In my generation.
