All of them try to lead us away from God. And Jesus faced all three. 2:54 And he overcame all three. And it is having overcome all three that he says to us, Follow me. He doesn't say that emptily. We literally have to follow him. In all these areas, 3:18 Many of us know that the Bible says we must follow Jesus. But in what area are we to follow him? If I were to ask you, What area are you following Jesus? 3:41 We can't be carpenters like him, all of us. We can't all be bachelors like him. But here is the areas where we can follow him. The way he overcame sin. The way he overcame the world. 4:01 And the way he overcame the devil. And Jesus overcame all these only through the power of the Holy Spirit. Without the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus could not have overcome. 4:25 He could have overcome if he had used his power as God. But when he was on earth. Even though he was God. He did not use that power. 4:46 If he had used that power. Then he cannot say to us, Follow me. But then I have to say to him, You are God. I am not. How can I follow you? And that is why when he came to earth. 5:06 He refused to use his power as God. In living here. It is very important to understand that. Because if you don't understand that. You won't have faith that you can follow Jesus. That was my experience. 5:31 After I was born again for 16 years. I was defeated by sin. After being born again. For 16 years. I was defeated by sin. Defeated by the world. And really scared of the devil. 5:55 I was always afraid what the devil would do to me. Until a day came in my life. When I saw that Jesus came in the flesh. That turned my life around. That turned my life around. 6:15 I can say that my life has been turned around by two or three things. One. The study. Intense study of the word of God. And second. That I was filled with the Holy Spirit. 6:36 And third. That I saw Jesus came in the flesh. And if you see. If you also. Go into these three areas. The same thing can happen to you. You can be an overcomer. 6:58 What we have written on that. Thing in the back. That board in the back. Is you can be an overcomer. Over sin. Over the world. And the devil. Now when we look at the way. The devil. Comes. To attack. Christians. 7:21 Basically two ways. He. Comes like a snake. Or like a lion. You know in Genesis chapter 3. He came as a snake. And there. The picture is of deception. 7:46 Whereas the lion. He comes. In persecution. So. In both these ways. He has attacked Christians. Through the years. Persecuting Christians. Deceiving Christians. 8:09 But. He has not succeeded. When he persecutes Christians. In 2000 years. Whenever he comes. To persecute Christians. The faith of those Christians. Is so bold. That many others get converted. 8:31 Some Christians fall away. In time of persecution. But those are Christians. Who are not wholehearted. For God. So it's a good thing. They fall away. Everywhere we find. 8:52 Persecution. Purifies the church. Смотрите, for example, today in China, we have a much purer church than in India. So, in all history, persecution has always purified the church. It has made the church smaller by getting rid of all those people who are not really wholehearted disciples. And, you know, persecution has already started coming to many parts of India. 10:03 It hasn't come so much in Tamil Nadu. But it may come. Things can change very quickly. Because of one word that Jesus said, You will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10:24 That is going to happen before the second coming of Christ. The Bible teaches that before Jesus returns, there is going to be a tremendous time of persecution for Christians. Now, I know that a lot of Christians teach that 10:44 Jesus will come and take us up before that time of persecution. But Matthew chapter 24 is very clear. And Revelation is also very clear. Now, I've explained this much more clearly in a book there called The Final Triumph. 11:10 You can get a copy of that and read it. We have to be prepared for the time of persecution that is going to come. And the little trials that we face today are a preparation for the big ones that will come in the future. 11:32 And if you fail in the little trials of today, how will you stand in the day of persecution? God wants us to be overcomers. And in the day when the Antichrist is ruling, who is called a man of sin, 11:54 and the greatest servant of Satan that this world has seen, in that day when the Antichrist is ruling in the world, God is going to have a strong army of wholehearted Christians who will stand up to Him. 12:17 Who will not bow down to Him. Who will not deny the Lord Jesus Christ. Spirit-filled believers. They are bold to face that battle. They are not going to run away to heaven. 12:38 God is going to keep them here to be bold witnesses for Him. And many of them will lay down their lives. And then at the end of that, Jesus will come. And then we will be raised up from the dead and we will meet Him in the air. 13:01 And we will welcome Him down to this earth. To reign for a thousand years. That is the hope we have. So in these days, we need to prepare ourselves to be able to overcome Satan when he comes like that. We must never be afraid that Satan can harm us in any way. 13:31 So how shall we prepare ourselves to overcome Satan? As I said, he comes like a lion with persecution. But he also comes as a serpent with deception. And we have to overcome both. That means in the time of persecution, 13:52 we must have the boldness given by the Holy Spirit to confess Jesus boldly. I'm really sorry that so many preachers are giving Christians a false hope that you will not face any tribulation. 14:13 Jesus will take you away. And that's what the preachers taught many Christians in China before 1950. 14:33 And what happened? The communists came. And persecution came against the Christians. Not for seven years. Fifty years. And they were not ready for it. Why were they not ready for it? And many of them denied the faith. 14:56 Why did they deny the faith? Because for so many years, preachers told them, Oh, you won't face persecution. Jesus will come and take you up. What did Jesus say? In John 16 and verse 33. He made it so clear. 15:17 I have told you these things so that you can have peace. But in the world, you will have tribulation. He said that. In me, you will have peace. But in the world, you will have tribulation. 15:40 Have you heard any preacher tell you that? That through much tribulation, we must enter into God's kingdom? Let's see Acts of the Apostles chapter 14. Acts of the Apostles chapter 14. And verse 22. 16:03 What does it say there? It says they help the believers to grow in love for God and each other. And they encouraged them to continue in the faith. In spite of all the persecution. 16:24 And they reminded them that the only way to enter the kingdom of God is through much tribulation. That's what the early Apostles preached. But today's preachers have diluted that message. So I want to tell you the truth. 16:49 I don't want you to get a surprise when that tribulation comes. I want you to prepare you for that now. By saying just like Samson tore the lion to pieces, you can stand against the devil and overcome him. 17:09 You can overcome. Why? Because Jesus overcame. And that is, you know, if you read of the history of the Apostles, those are the greatest servants of God in the first century. 17:31 Eleven Apostles who walked with Jesus for three and a half years. And we know definitely that ten of them were killed. As far as we know, one of them, Thomas, was killed here in Tamil Nadu. In Chennai. 17:52 He did not escape tribulation. He came here to Tamil Nadu to preach the gospel. 2,000 years ago. And he was killed. And all the Apostles were killed. Except perhaps John, who was also persecuted for a long time. 18:14 So those were God's greatest servants. Today, a lot of people are being, are being taught that if you are faithful, God will let you escape tribulation. No, those were the most faithful Apostles and they were all killed. 18:33 And in the second century and third century, so many Christians were burnt and thrown to the lions. God could have stopped it. When Daniel went into the lions' den, the lions could not touch Daniel. 18:57 But in Rome in the third century, when Christians were thrown to the lions, the lions ate them up. But the Christians were not defeated. They would sing songs to God, while they were being eaten up by the lions. 19:22 And seeing their boldness, some of these Romans people sitting in the auditorium, in the amphitheater, would say, I am also a Christian. You know, seeing the faith of these people, they said, that must be the true God. Look at the way they are willing to die for this. 19:48 So somebody would get faith, in that big crowd of thousands of people, who were watching these Christians being eaten. And they would stand up and say, I also believe in Jesus Christ. And they would catch him, and throw him also to the lions. 20:09 Those were the Christians of the early days. Today we have Christians, who are only interested in making money. And watching internet pornography. And saying, Jesus will come and take us up. 20:30 He won't take you up, I will tell you that. Not if you are living in sin. Today is the day to be prepared for tribulation. And those who are faithful, he will definitely come in the heavens, and take them up. 20:50 If they are alive, he will take them up alive. And if you are dead, he will raise you up, and take you up. So we must know now, how to face the devil, if he comes in as a lion. The other thing is, 21:11 he comes like a serpent, 2nd Corinthians chapter 11. It says here that, I am afraid, he tells the Corinthians, like the serpent, deceived Eve, in the garden, so you also may be deceived by Satan. 21:32 Chapter 11, verse 3. What is the fear? What is the fear? The serpent will deceive you, and take you away from love for Jesus. 21:52 He will make you love the world, love money, or something else. That is, a better way in which, the devil has destroyed Christians. He does not succeed, with persecution. But he does succeed, with deception. 22:14 One of the great deceptions, of Satan is this. Once you have said, Lord Jesus, come into your heart, you will definitely go to heaven. Where did you get that idea? It is all false preachers. 22:35 Let me show you, in your Bible, what it says. Hebrews chapter 3. Hebrews chapter 3. Verse 12. Who is he writing to, first of all? Chapter 3, verse 1. 22:58 He is talking to holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling. Those are definitely believers. Those who accept verse 2, Jesus as their high priest. Some people say, that the book of Hebrews, 23:18 is written for Jewish people. This is written for holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling. The Jewish people, had an earthly calling. The Jewish people, did not accept verse 2, Jesus as their high priest. 23:41 He is talking to born-again believers. And what is he telling, born-again believers? The same thing he is telling you and me. Read verse 12. Take care, dear brothers, lest there be in you, in you, an evil, 24:01 unbelieving heart, to fall away from the living God. Can a believer, believer, fall away from the living God? The Holy Spirit says, yes. 24:22 Whatever your preachers, may have told you, do you know how many preachers, deceived, the Jewish people in Jesus' time? Jesus was like a lone preacher, telling the truth. 24:43 Most of the preachers, were deceiving everybody. Because they didn't show them, the scriptures. that is the way in which, the devil deceives people. Why does he deceive you? Because he wants you, to live with him in hell forever. 25:07 That's why he wants to deceive you. Why do we speak the truth to you? Do you think I am going to be popular, by telling you these things? I am more interested in your soul, than those who deceive you. 25:28 Dear brothers, I want to just repeat scripture to you. Hebrews 3.12 Dear brethren, Take care, lest, you, you have an evil, unbelieving heart, 25:48 that can make you fall away, from the living God. So, we, can become partakers of Christ, verse 14, if we hold fast, that which we, held from the beginning, until the end. 26:10 How do we become partakers of Christ? Not because, once upon a time, 20 years ago, you said, Lord Jesus, come into my heart. But if you hold fast, that firm, until the end, 26:33 then, you become a partaker of Christ. neglect these verses. But somebody may say, didn't Jesus say that, nobody can pluck you out of my hand? 26:53 Yes, he did. But to whom did he say it? If the postman has got a money order, you go to first check, whether it is in your name. Otherwise, you can't get it. If you get a check, and it is not in your name, it may be, 10 lakhs, 27:13 but sorry, it's not for you. So, before you get excited, see if it is for you. So, to whom does Jesus say, no one can pluck you out of my hand? No one can pluck you out of my father's hand. 27:38 John chapter 10. You got to read very carefully here. Most people, when they quote John chapter 10, they start at verse 28 in English, 28 and 29. 28:00 No one can pluck you out of my hand. My father is greater than I. No one can pluck you out of his hand. But actually, it begins in verse 27. Now see, whose name this money order is. 28:20 Whose name is this check? This is a fantastic check. More than 10 lakhs. No one can pluck you out of my hand. My father is greater than I. No one can pluck you out of his hand. Oh oh, this is a wonderful check. More than 10 lakhs. 28:42 But in whose name is it? Please see if your name is there. The name is written in verse 27. My sheep hear my voice. First thing. Do you hear his voice? 29:03 And they follow me. And to such people I give eternal life. That I believe. That I believe. That if you hear his voice and you follow him, no one can pluck you out of Jesus' hand. 29:24 But if you are not listening to his voice today and you are not following him, definitely the devil will take you out of his hand. Not that Jesus can't keep you. But if you are not following him, you are jumping out of his hand yourself. 29:46 These are just two examples I gave you of how the devil comes like a snake and deceives people. There are many other ways in which the devil deceives people. Another very common thing nowadays. If you don't pay your tithe, 30:06 God will curse you. It's one of the favorite verses of many preachers in Malachi chapter 3 verse 10. It says here, bring the tithes into the storehouse. 30:27 And then I will pour you out a blessing. In the previous verse 9, it says, you are cursed with a curse because you haven't done, because you have robbed me. You have robbed me by not paying your tithe. 30:48 And some pastor says that and everybody gets scared to pay their tithe. But what they don't tell you is that book is in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, there are many other things also written. 31:10 You have to go to Jerusalem three times every year. If you don't do it, you'll be punished. Do you do that? How many of you have been to Jerusalem three times a year? That is also in the Old Testament. And you must sacrifice a lamb 31:28 on that Good Friday day which they call Passover. You must sacrifice a lamb. That is also in the Old Testament. You must not even light a fire on the Saturday. You must not work on a Saturday. You must not do any work on a Saturday. 31:47 That is also in the Old Testament. These are part of the Old Testament laws. The Bible says Christ is the end of the law to everyone who believes. Not only you don't have to put the Passover lamb away. 32:10 You don't have to worry about Saturday the law about the Sabbath. You don't have to earn put burnt offerings and peace offerings now. And you don't have to pay your tithe anymore. It's all part of the Old Covenant. 32:34 And that is why you never find in the New Testament after the day of Pentecost any single verse about paying your tithe. I want to set you free. This is the one teaching 32:55 that makes all Pentecostal pastors angry with me. Because I preach the truth and set the people free. I break the chains and say go free. The chains that so many people have put on you for so many years. 33:19 And you say you mean we don't have to give any money to God? That's right. Then how will God's work continue? I'll tell you. See 2 Corinthians chapter 9. 33:41 2 Corinthians chapter 9 and verse 7. Everyone must make up his own mind as to what he should give. No pressure on anybody because God 34:01 loves a cheerful giver. I'll tell you how God's work continues because God has got a few cheerful givers. I was preaching in a Pentecostal assembly some years ago 34:21 and the pastor told me Oh brother Zach I agree with almost everything you say but why do you tell people not to pay their tithe? As it is they give so little if you 34:43 after listening to you they'll give nothing. I said that's not true in my church. In Bangalore for 35 years I have preached you don't have to pay your tithe. 35:03 we have never passed a bag around in Bangalore for 35 years even one Sunday we don't keep a box there and make everybody come in line and put money and put money there either but we have had so many 35:24 we have had about a hundred conferences spending lakhs of rupees not because we have so many millionaires in Bangalore but we have some cheerful who are so grateful to God that God has set them free 35:44 from sin that is how these meetings are also being paid for there are few cheerful givers who put some money in the box and it takes care of everything God loves 36:04 cheerful givers it says here so the new testament does not preach tithing but says cheerfully give that is a bondage that the devil has put on people with his deception so 36:25 the devil deceives and he persecutes and we must be free from that the devil frightens people I told you with verse like this God will curse you if you don't pay your tithe fear is one 36:46 of the great weapons of Satan but the Bible says God has not given us the spirit of fear 2 Timothy 1 7 God has given us a spirit of peace freedom from anxiety 37:06 freedom from fear because Satan has been defeated I want to show you Hebrews in chapter 2 there it says Jesus died to deliver us from fear I feel that many of you 37:26 have many fears in your heart fear about the future what will happen if I lose my job what will happen if my husband dies what will happen if my child gets sick seriously what will happen if my husband gets cancer 37:47 so many fears what will happen if the landlord throws us out of the house what will happen if I lose my job fear fear fear fear fear it's all from the devil God 38:07 has not given us the spirit of fear why did Jesus die not only to deliver us from sin but to deliver us from this fear that the devil puts upon us Hebrews chapter 2 verse 14 and 15 it 38:28 says here that because we are made of flesh and blood Jesus took flesh and blood because he could die if he came as a spirit here how could he die so 38:48 he became like us so that he could die and why did he die he so that through death he might break the power of satan who had the power of death now 39:08 read that carefully we must read the bible slowly many christians read the bible too fast and that's why they don't get anything from it it's no use reading through the bible fifty times in your life it is better 39:29 that the whole bible goes through you at least once in your life i'm more interested in the whole bible going through me once than me going through the bible fifty times that's 39:49 one of the prayers i pray i don't pray lord help me to read the bible fifty times this is my prayer lord in my lifetime i must claim every promise that is in this bible at least once i 40:12 don't want to miss out even one i don't read the bible to preach sermons there are seven thousand promises here i want to claim them all and secondly lord i want to obey every commandment that is 40:32 for me in this new covenant age before i leave this earth that is what i am more interested in than reading the bible fifty times so read the bible slowly who 40:54 had the power of death according to verse fourteen read it was satan had the power of death he got it in eden when adam submitted to him and the 41:17 devil could kill whom he liked unless unless god protected him you know when god allowed satan to give sickness to job god told him in job chapter 2 you 41:37 can give him sickness but you cannot kill him satan tried we could have killed him god said no satan had the power of death but when jesus died according 41:58 to this verse and rose again he took that power of death from satan and do you know what he says in revelation chapter 1 i have the keys of death now who had the key before 42:18 the resurrection jesus the devil here it is maybe you're learning some new things today see revelation in chapter 1 when the lord spoke to john 42:39 he says there in revelation chapter 1 verse 8 i am the beginning and the end i'm alpha and omega and further down he says i have the keys 42:59 of hell and death verse 18 who has the keys of death jesus who had it before jesus came to the earth satan even 43:20 when jesus was on the earth satan had that key but when jesus died and conquered death he took the key from satan if you read hebrews 2 14 and revelation 118 you see that very clearly why 43:44 did he take it away now come back to hebrews 2 15 so that all his children may never again be afraid of death who were till that time slaves to that 44:04 fear you know there are many fears we have fear of sickness I told you fear of losing a job losing the house small fears big fears and then the biggest fear of all fear 44:26 of death Jesus came to deliver us from that biggest fear and when he delivers you from that fear all the other fears disappear have 44:47 you read this verse in 1 Samuel 17 when David killed Goliath all the other Philistines ran away when the fear of death you have overcome that is the Goliath that is killed all the other fears disappear 45:07 why do you have a fear then today fear of sickness fear of loss of money fear of cancer so many fears because you don't believe that satan was defeated on the cross you don't 45:27 believe that Jesus has taken the key from him you can overcome fear now you can overcome Satan you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free from fear many of us don't realize what 45:47 wonderful deliverance Jesus brought on the cross for us in Colossians chapter 2 we read in verse 14 and 15 Colossians 2 verse 14 and 15 you must know these verses you 46:07 must underline these verses so that you never forget them there are two things Jesus did on the cross verse 14 he blotted out all the charge that was there against our sins because we broke the commandments he took 46:29 it away secondly something else he took away he took away satan's armor and power from him verse 15 do you know the second thing that Jesus did he 46:50 took away satan's armor from him he didn't kill satan on the cross you know that satan is alive today but he took away his power and now when my life is surrendered to Jesus we 47:12 we can overcome satan I did not know that for 16 years of my Christian life but when God filled me with the Holy Spirit one of the things I discovered was satan has no power over me now he 47:36 is afraid of me now because you know 1 John 4 greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world is Jesus living in your heart many of you say yes who 47:56 is bigger who is greater who is more powerful Jesus Christ or Satan you answer that to yourself now you are going to get faith in this meeting that's going to change your life 1 John 4 4 greater 48:17 is he who is in you than he who is in the world do you believe that the one who is in you is Jesus Christ and the one who is in the world is the devil now why is it that so many believers 48:38 are afraid of the devil because they think Jesus in their heart is so small and so weak and the devil is so powerful you know when this great Goliath came against David David said 48:58 to him you come to me with sword and spear and all that I come to you in the name of the Lord the name of the Lord was more powerful than all these spears and sword and everything he didn't say to 49:18 Goliath I come to you with a stone no stone is not powerful than spear and sword you read in 1 Samuel 17 you come to me with all this I come to you in the name of the Lord if 49:38 you have confessed all your sins to Jesus and cleansed your heart in the blood that he shed on the cross and to the best you know you have yielded your life to Christ you ask him to fill you with his Holy Spirit you can 49:58 use the name of Jesus even a young boy or girl here can use it it is not a question of how old you are the name of Jesus there is mighty power but you cannot 50:18 use it if there is sin in your life there were seven sons of a Jewish high priest called Sceva who tried to use that name once in Acts the Apostles and they said in the name of Jesus they tried to cast out a demon and that 50:39 demon jumped on them and tore their clothes but if your heart is clean and you surrender to Jesus there is mighty power in the name of Jesus Christ I have found many many times that many demons that I have cast out of people 50:58 let me tell you something till today I have never seen a single demon that did not go when it was commanded to go in the name of Jesus Christ and I never 51:18 had to say it twice you have seen many preachers say get out get out get out I say it only once secondly you have heard many people shouting shouting shouting I 51:41 never shout I just say in Jesus name get out because the devil has got very good here you don't have to shout once I remember a demon possessed person about 40 feet away and I 52:02 whispered in the name of Jesus and he heard it don't be confused by what you have seen in many places how they cast out demons I remember one place where I was called to cast out a demon from some poor lady there 52:25 was a pentecostal man pulling her hair and shouting at her so I said I don't know who's got the demon here this woman or this man who's trying to cast it I said you please get him out of here then we can deal with this poor 52:44 lady then I didn't know whether she had a demon so first I said ask Jesus to come into your heart a voice came out of her mouth tell 53:04 her don't tell me oh this is another person living inside so I said in Jesus name get out of her he left like that then I asked her to accept Jesus and she accepted Christ is 53:26 it because of something in me no I just believe that Jesus defeated satan on the cross why can't you do that you don't believe it you're scared of the devil because your Jesus is so small and 53:47 the devil is so big you can cast out that demon if you believe in Jesus there's one more reason the Lord told me many years ago if you want to overcome fight with satan 54:07 and overcome him you must completely stop fighting with human beings man to man to the poor out of the window Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12 read this very carefully let this verse go through you what 54:29 is the first thing there are two things here we do not fight with somebody but we fight with somebody read it carefully we do not fight with flesh and blood or in other words we don't fight with human beings but 54:50 we fight with demons and evil spirits and the Lord said to me from this verse if you want to have power to fight against Satan and the demons you decide from today you will never fight with human beings and 55:14 I decided I will never fight with my wife I will never fight with my neighbor I will never fight with other believers I will never fight with my relatives who steal my property I will never take anybody to court I will not 55:33 fight with any human being I will not fight for a seat in the train or the bus I will not fight in the office I will only fight with the devil from now on you take that decision now 55:53 I will not fight with my husband from today or my wife or my neighbor or my boss or my landlord or mother in law or daughter in law or those who cheat me I will not 56:14 fight with human beings Lord fill me with the Holy Spirit I tell you from today you will have such power that the devil will be afraid of you I believe with all my heart today that the devil is afraid of me 56:34 that is why he tries to frighten me by so much criticism and so many things people say against me I say I'm not disturbed because Jesus is with me the Holy Spirit strengthens me 56:54 my father in heaven takes care of me because I decided I will never fight with any human being even when Christians come to argue with me about some doctrine if they are coming to get an explanation I'm glad to spend hours 57:14 with them explaining some of them come with a fighting spirit to my house I say no I'm not going to argue with you you can believe whatever you like you 57:35 can believe I'm deceived I've gone astray you believe whatever you like I will not argue and fight with you even over doctrine I will explain to you but if you only want to argue and fight I'm not going to fight because 57:56 I want to spend my energy fighting the devil I believe many of you believers do not have power over Satan because you're fighting with each other at home why is the devil making so many Christian believers fight with each 58:15 other at home because he knows Ephesians 6 12 he knows you'll never be able to overcome Satan I want to tell you in Jesus name today you can overcome Satan you 58:36 just do what I told you here in what the Bible says here because Jesus defeated Satan on the cross I remember once when one woman was brought to me for prayer I told her tell the devil you were defeated on the cross you were 58:54 defeated on the cross another voice came out of her mouth changed her face said I was not defeated on the cross now I was talking to the demon I 59:15 said you liar you were defeated on the
