It speaks about the people who walked with Jesus, 2:39 and the dreams they had, and how He might fulfill freedom for them who lived there in a time of captivity. Even His mother Mary, the hopes she had, and how it seemed like all hope was lost when He was crucified and buried in the grave. 2:56 But that wasn't the end of the story. On the third day He rose, and He is risen forever. And if you're waiting for a miracle, if you're waiting, if it seems like the life of Christ is still locked up in a tomb somewhere, 3:09 ask God to open your eyes to the morning that has come. Death is defeated. Christ is overcome. O grave, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? Thank you, Lord, for setting us free. He's a living God that we pray to. In that same passage in Habakkuk, he says, We're not praying to idols, idols that some man has created or some stone or piece of wood. But it's a living God who has ears, a living God who has a voice that speaks. And if you have a hard time hearing him, if you haven't heard him this week, ask him afresh this morning. 8:07 Don't give up asking. He wants to speak to you. He wants you to know that he hears your cry. He hears your prayer. If you're humble, if you're afflicted, then he hears your prayer. He's near the broken hearted. He's near you. It's not an empty prayer you've been praying. It's not a hopeless prayer. We have a hope in heaven. 8:26 We have a hope that's sure, an anchor in the midst of the storm. So let's pray as we ought to pray. You know, the Bible tells us in Romans 8 also that we don't know to pray how we ought to pray. And that's why the Holy Spirit himself cries out within us and teaches us how to pray. 8:42 Cries out with groanings too deep for words. Maybe we can sing this next song. Precious Jesus, teach me how I ought to pray. Teach me to pray as you prayed. We read in the Gospels how the disciples watched him praying. If it is your will. We're not guaranteed physical healing. We know that, Lord. But our bodies are for you. 16:56 And so we believe you are for our bodies. So if it is your will, will you heal completely? We know our bodies are decaying anyway, Lord. But as long as we live, I pray that we might do it in health and strength. That we might further your kingdom unhindered. 17:08 Thank you, Lord. We believe you heard our prayer. Just like you touched with tenderness and compassion.
