0:17 Corinthians chapter 6 and verse 17 The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with him. This is similar to 0:41 the marriage relationship. That is the verse quoted in verse 16. The two will become one flesh. And this is what was written about Adam and Eve. Two will become one flesh. 1:06 And in the same way we and Jesus are to become one spirit. Now the same thing is repeated in Ephesians 5. This is also verse referring to Adam and 1:28 Eve's time. Ephesians 5:31 For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. And the two shall become one flesh. Two human beings become one flesh. 1:59 in uh in marriage. And then he says here, "I'm not just referring to marriage." Verse 32, "This mystery is great." And I'm not referring to marriage here. 2:19 I'm talking about Christ and the church. How is the Christ and the church one flesh? Not like husband and wife. 2:38 We are married to the Lord in our spirit. But Jesus came in a flesh like ours. And that is why he is one flesh with us. In Hebrews chapter 2 also it says the 2:59 same thing. Verse 14 Since the children share in flesh and blood he also took part in the same so that through death he might render powerless the one who had the power of 3:18 death, that is the devil. Why did he take flesh and blood? 3:41 Because we had flesh and blood. And if he did not take flesh and blood, he could not die. And without death he could not deliver us. So Jesus came in the flesh. And not only he died 4:03 but we read in Hebrews 4 and verse 15 that he is a high priest who can sympathize with our weakness because he was tempted in everything as we are but without sinning. See I told you this morning that 4:33 we cannot become like Jesus just by our effort. That is life under the law. You see how this fan is running? 4:54 In the olden days, 200 years ago when there was no electricity and in the palace of the kings when they felt hot they had something which they called a 5:12 punkah. And somebody from behind the screen will keep on pulling pulling pulling pulling and make the punkah go round and round and round and round. So the king can get some breeze. But how long can he do this? That 5:33 servant over there after 1 hour he'll get tired. Somebody else has to come. But now I think electricity comes and it keeps on running. That is the difference between life 5:53 under the law and life under grace. If you are getting tired of living the Christian life if you are getting tired of becoming holy 6:12 and you say once in a while I must commit some sin for some pleasure we can't be holy all the time. We must have a little sin for pleasure once in a while. Then you have not understood grace. And 6:35 then you're that that that servant turning the punkah. He's doing it for 1 hour. And then he says, "I'm tired." Now I must rest. 6:54 Whenever you feel like that this I'm tired of following Jesus. I'm tired of always controlling my eyes and controlling my tongue. Always reading the Bible, going to church. Now I want to relax a little. 7:18 I want to enjoy with my worldly friends a little bit. That is the result of life under the law. You have not understood the power of THE HOLY SPIRIT. SEE THIS FAN runs by the power of 7:37 electricity. It is not human effort. I mean that is a picture of life under grace. Like electricity comes in the power of the Holy Spirit comes inside. And we can keep on going WITHOUT GETTING 7:59 TIRED. THAT FAN CAN GO 24 HOURS WITHOUT any problem? No problem. It can run for days. That is life in the Holy Spirit. That is how Jesus lived. 8:22 He lived for 33 and 1/2 years. What did we read? He never sinned. Even though he was tempted like us every day. We read how the devil tempted him. Just think. 8:44 Do you think the devil tempted Jesus more than you or less than you? Definitely more. I have seen that nowadays that the devil tempts leaders more than he tempts the 9:02 people. Because the devil knows if he can get one Christian big Christian leader to fall into adultery he has destroyed so many churches through that one man. There are so many big big pastors in 9:30 America. Suddenly you hear they fall into adultery. Even happens in India also but it is not publicized in the newspaper so much as in America. But the devil knows. 9:51 If I can knock down a leader, I can ruin many many churches. So I can imagine that the devil tempted Jesus 10,000 times more than he tempts you and me. But he would overcome. 10:15 And he never got tired of this battle against sin. He never said, "Oh, this is a struggle always fighting against sin." Let me relax for few seconds. 10:36 If he had relaxed even 5 seconds, he would have sinned. See the example of Jesus given us in Hebrews chapter 12. There are two examples given to us. 10:55 First of all, in verse one, it says this is a race. This is a race we have to run where Jesus is our forerunner who has gone in front of us. In what way did he go in front of you 11:16 and me? He was tempted in every point like you and me. Whenever you face a temptation remember Jesus was tempted in the same area. He was one flesh with us. 11:40 NOT IN THE same physical way like husband and wife. But in the fact that he came in our flesh. He can understand our struggle because he was tempted like us. And we are his bride. 12:02 And he says, "Let us fight THIS TOGETHER NOW." SO HERE WE READ This is a race. And in this race, we must look at our bridegroom. You know, a real 12:21 bride who loves her bridegroom so much always look at her bridegroom. Young couple who really love each other, they really like to look into each other's faces. So it says we fix our eyes on Jesus, 12:45 verse two. As he endured the cross, we endure THE CROSS. WHICH CROSS IS THAT? IT'S NOT TALKING about the cross on which he hung on the last day of his 13:03 life. That was only for 6 hours. And maybe he carried it on his shoulder for 1 hour. Total 7 hours. But there was another cross that he was 13:19 carrying inside for more than 33 years. You know, Jesus said If anyone wants to come after me, he must take up his cross every day and follow me. Luke 9:23 13:46 Every day, we have to take up the cross to follow Jesus. That means that he also took up a cross every day. That is the meaning of following him. If he did not take up the cross, how can he tell me to take up the cross every 14:06 day and follow him? When he says if anyone wants to follow me he has to do what I did. What is that? Carry your cross every day. Not a physical cross. Inward cross. 14:28 He endured it. People made fun of him. It says he despised the shame. And now now today he's sitting at the right hand of the throne of God. So this is a race. 14:47 You know, in every Olympic games or any race, there's a starting line and a finishing line. Even in the school children's races in school, there's a starting line and finishing line. The starting line is when we are born 15:11 again. When we receive Jesus into our life and he becomes our bridegroom and we are united with him in one spirit then we start the race. 15:31 And the finishing line is here. The throne of God. That is where WE HAVE TO REACH. HOW DID HE REACH THAT? HE TOOK THE CROSS every day. See, in in the Olympic games, there is 15:49 one big race called marathon race, which is 40 km. Most of the races are held inside the Olympic stadium. But 40 km, you cannot run in the 16:08 stadium. So they run all over the city and finally come to the stadium. And there is a route that is marked to run this 40 km. Exactly measured down to the last meter, 16:32 this 40 km. And there's a particular route. This road to that road, like that. It is all marked. Here you have to turn right, where you have to turn left. Here you have to turn right, where you have to turn left. All 16:51 marked. So Jesus also has gone in a certain route for this 33 years. And that route has got a name. It is called the way of the cross. 17:11 Why is it called the way of the cross? Because that is the way in which Jesus carried the cross in his heart every day for 33 and 1/2 years. If you want to be one flesh with him and 17:28 be his bride you must go the same way. AFTER A WEDDING, DO YOU FIND bridegroom going one way and bride going another way? No. THEY ARE TOGETHER FOR LIFE. AND IF THEY ARE A HAPPY HUSBAND and 17:48 wife, 40 years later, they are still together. So if you want to be with Jesus all the time in your earthly life this is the way you can find him. If you walk on the way of the cross, 18:09 Jesus will always be there with you. There is a lovely verse in Matthew 28:20 saying, "Lo, I am with you always unto the end of the age." In many houses, you see that on the 18:30 wall. Lo, I am with you always. But where is he with us always? Not if we run wherever we like. Only on this way OF THE CROSS. THAT IS WHERE THE RACE IS. 18:52 That is where he is our forerunner. Where he took the cross. And along this way of the cross there are two big temptations we face. Along this way 19:10 one is from our own flesh. Temptation from flesh and the devil this sharia and the apartheid and the many temptations to sin. That is one tempt one problem along this way. 19:30 The second is there are so many people who WILL OPPOSE US. MAYBE your relatives. Why are you going to that church? You be here. This is the church your grandfather was in. Or why are you changing your religion? 19:49 Our relatives become our first enemies. And then so many other people Maybe some brother or sister in the church is jealous of you. I'm sorry to say there's a lot of 20:08 jealousy in the church. After that you can also see only Where there's competition who's going to be the minister and who will be the cabinet minister In business there is jealousy. 20:30 His business better than mine. He's making more money than mine. They do so many things to crush the other business. From the time of Cain who was jealous of Abel and killed him, there has always 20:48 been jealousy in the world. It started in Genesis 4. And to find it in the world is not surprising. But there's a lot of jealousy IN THE CHURCH. I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF IT. 21:11 SUPPOSING YOU build a nice house. And some other believers in the church are jealous of you. Or you get a good job. And they are jealous of you. Or 21:28 you your children get a good job. Their children did not get. They are jealous of you. Or your children get good husband and wife. And they are jealous of you. Or you bought a car. 21:47 And those people who only got a scooter, they are jealous of you. Or you bought a scooter. The people who got a bicycle, they are jealous of you. Or you bought a bicycle. The fellow who can only walk, he is jealous of you. 22:07 So even if you buy a bicycle, somebody will be jealous of you. Because always somebody is thinking why he has got more than me. Or if God gives you a gift to preach. And then other people will feel jealous 22:27 of you. How he has got that gift and I don't have that gift? And than me. Then the older people will feel jealous just like Cain was jealous of Abel. Saul King Saul was jealous of David. 22:52 And the Pharisees 65-year-old Pharisees were jealous of the 30-year-old Jesus. And we will face it IN THE CHURCH. I FACED IT FROM THE TIME I was 23 years old. I found many people were jealous that 23:15 God is giving me a ministry to preach. Because God gave me a gift when I was around 22 23. It is not my ability. God gave me a gift. How can I take I can't take any credit for it. Jesus put his nail-pierced hands on my 23:40 head one day and anointed me with the Holy Spirit. I got a GIFT TO SPEAK. ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with me. SO I GOT I was able to help people with 23:58 the word of God. I found so many full-time workers and preachers who were older than me were jealous of me. Try to push me down and push me out and all types of things. In many many churches. 24:22 And those days I was young. And the Lord used to tell me keep your mouth shut. If somebody pushes you down, just keep quiet. God has got a time to bring us up. 24:44 You know how Joseph's 10 brothers were all jealous of him. They pushed him down so much. They tried to kill him also. But did they succeed? God brought Joseph up. 25:06 If God has got a plan for your life, nobody can push you down. I look at it like this. Can you push a piece of wood into the water? Into into the river? No matter how much you push that wood 25:26 into the river, when you leave it, it will come up. You can't push wood into the water. So they could not PUSH JOSEPH DOWN. HE HAD TO JUST KEEP QUIET. 25:44 The Lord told me also to keep quiet. So when people are jealous of you, don't fight with them. Just keep your mouth quiet. Mouth and all those things. One day God himself will lift you up. So we have opposition from temptation 26:05 and the devil. And then we have opposition from people. AND THE MOST OPPOSITION is from other believers who are jealous of us. That is the race that Jesus ran. These two things are mentioned in verse 26:27 3 and 4. Hebrews 12. Verse 3. It says, "Consider Jesus who endured such hostility by sinners against himself so that when you face all that, you don't get weary and get 26:45 discouraged." He says, "When you face all this opposition from other believers who are FIGHTING AGAINST YOU, TROUBLING YOU, 27:09 TROUBLING YOU, and telling lies about you, and jealous of you, believers, pushing you down, think of Jesus. How he also faced that. Oh, what all stories they said about 27:28 him. They said he's got a demon. They said he is a low caste. Do you know that they called Jesus low caste? Just like today also some people look at other believers and say, "You are not my caste." I'll show you that if you have not seen 27:52 it. We must read these things in the Bible. Bible is John chapter 8. John chapter 8. John chapter 8. We read here when uh Jesus was speaking to the Jewish 28:12 people. See John chapter 8. John Jesus told them verse 23, "You are of this world. I am from above." But you know what they told him? "You have a demon." 28:34 You see, he had told them here in verse 44, "You are of your father the devil." The Jews said in verse 48, "You are a Samaritan and you have a demon." See, the Jews were upper caste and 28:55 Samaritans were low caste. So this was the way of despising people saying, "Ah, you are low caste." "You are from Dalits." 29:16 "You are Samaritan." They said THAT TO JESUS. "YOU HAVE A DEMON. YOU ARE LOW CASTE." HAS SOMEBODY SAID THAT TO YOU? Think of Jesus. They said that to him also. 29:33 They were blind Pharisees. And there are blind Christians today who speak the same language as those Pharisees who are going to hell. They are calling you by the same bad 29:51 name they called Jesus. You have a demon. You are low caste. And it says in Hebrews 12 verse three. Think of him 30:06 who endures so much ENMITY FROM SINNERS. SO, YOU WON'T GET DISCOURAGED. In this race this long 40 km race also ran this race. 30:26 Everything you face, he faced. Jealousy from other people. We read that when the Pharisees brought him to Pilate Pilate is a man who's never read the Bible. He worships idols. 30:45 spiritually blind But when he looked at the Pharisees and he looked at Jesus the Bible says Pilate knew in his heart it is only because of jealousy they are bringing this man here. Even a blind UNBELIEVER COULD SEE THAT. 31:16 NOW, THE OTHER thing I want you to see is the Romans and the Greeks were not jealous of Jesus. Roman military men would respect Jesus and say I'm not worthy that you should come to my house. Stand here and pray for my 31:34 servant. At the cross when all the Pharisees were mocking him saying you're a demon one Roman soldier said, "No, this is the 31:51 SON OF GOD." THE ROMANS RESPECTED HIM. The Greeks, we read in John chapter 12, they came to Philip and said, "We want to meet Jesus." Those were the two big countries in the 32:09 world those days. Rome and Greece. THOSE PEOPLE RESPECTED JESUS. BUT THE PEOPLE WHO READ THE BIBLE THE PHARISEES THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SAID, "YOU ARE A LOW caste demon." and all So, today 32:31 you'll find your main opposition is not from non-Christians. It will be from believers who read the Bible. Because they are jealous of you. And when you find that jealousy 32:49 think of your bridegroom. He also faced it. I am the bride. What my bridegroom faces, I also have to face. Then I don't get discouraged. 33:08 You know, if the bridegroom and the bride are walking out of the wedding when they go out some people are angry and jealous throw mud on the bridegroom and spoil 33:28 and then they throw it on the bride also. What does she say? Oh, my bridegroom is also facing it and I'm happy. Why do you want to become honored when Jesus is despised? I don't want to be honored if my 33:48 bridegroom is being despised. If they throw mud on the bridegroom, why should they throw flowers on me? I don't want any flowers. I want the same mud that they threw on 34:06 my bridegroom. If they called him demon devil devil and ALL PRINCE OF DEVILS I SAY, "LORD, LET THEM CALL ME ALSO DEVIL." They called him false teacher. 34:25 I AM THE BRIDE. LET them throw the same mud on me also. Let them call me false teacher. And we must also say Lord if they crucified you and killed you it is okay if people kill me for preaching 34:43 the gospel. Why should we be ashamed? Why should WE BE AFRAID? HE IS OUR BRIDEGROOM has already FACED ALL THAT. SEE WHAT JESUS said in Matthew chapter 35:02 10. This is an amazing verse. Matthew chapter 10 verse 4 24 A disciple is not above his teacher nor a slave above his master. Do you agree with that or not? 35:27 Yes or no? Disciple is not above his teacher. Yes? The servant is not greater than the master. Yes? Okay? 35:45 Then verse 25 verse If the last part, if they call the master Beelzebub, then definitely they will call the members of the household also. If the head of the house is called 36:07 prince of devils if you are a member of the family why you want to honor? How do you know according to this verse? According to this verse, how do you know you're a member of Jesus' family? Please read that. 36:29 If they call the head of the family Beelzebub, how much more the members of his family? Even a 10-year-old can answer that question. How do you know you're a member of 36:49 Jesus' family according to this verse? They will call you the same names they called Jesus and even worse names. They call him devil, they'll call you devil. They call him low caste, they'll call 37:08 you also low caste. They call him prince of devils, they call you prince of They call him false teacher, they call you false teacher. So, that is what it says in Hebrews 12:3. When 37:25 you face in this race all this opposition from people maybe from your family members maybe your father your mother throw you out of the house. Well, Jesus also faced that type of 37:46 thing. You know they would not kill him inside Jerusalem. They outside the holy city. They threw him out. See Hebrews 13. verse 11 38:07 In the Old Testament, there was a law that verse 11, Hebrews 13 verse 11 that the blood of the animals can be taken into the most holy place as an offering. 38:26 But the body of the animal must be taken outside the CAMP AND BURNED. THEY got rid of the body. Therefore Jesus also 38:45 12 verse in law He was killed outside THE HOLY CITY. THEY TREATED HIS BODY LIKE A good-for-nothing animal's body. Yeah, the governor will put him out. 39:04 So, what should we verse 13 Let us also go outside all these so-called holy people and be thrown out by others. Bear his reproach, verse 13. 39:27 Because our city, verse 14, is not here. Our city is somewhere else. So, if you are thrown out of the house remember they threw Jesus also out of Jerusalem. He faced so much opposition from 39:45 other people. So, it says here in Hebrews 12:3, when you face opposition from human beings, ALL THOSE HUMAN beings are being INSTIGATED BY SATAN. THEN THINK OF JESUS. 40:08 WHAT ALL HE FACED. There are some things which are not written in the Bible. Let me show you something. You know, whenever the people were happy with Jesus, they would call him son of Joseph. 40:31 When they were angry with him, they would call him son of Mary. What is the difference? They were angry saying, "You're Mary's son. We don't know who your father is." That was a way of making fun of him. 40:51 I'll show you that in scripture. We must read the Bible carefully. See, Luke chapter 4. When Jesus came to Nazareth, verse 16, and he preached there. 41:15 And when he closed the book, verse 20, the eyes of everybody were looked upon him because they never heard such wonderful words anywhere. And verse 22, 41:33 all the people were speaking nicely about him. And they were wondering at the gracious words which came FROM HIS MOUTH. AND THEN WHAT DID THEY SAY? 41:50 AH, this is Joseph's son. They were happy with him. Now, I'll show you another place. Mark chapter 6. Here, they were angry with him. Mark chapter 6, verse three, last part. 42:12 They took offense at him. I didn't even know what happened to me. They were ANGRY WITH HIM. THEN WHAT DID THEY CALL HIM? VERSE THREE, "This is the carpenter, the son of Mary." Why did they change from Joseph's son to 42:31 Mary's son? Why Joseph's son and then Mary's son and then Mary's son? That was to tell him. It was like a dig saying, "We don't know who your father is." It was like a sharp word to hurt him. 42:53 He faced it. Have you faced things like that? Has anybody talked to you and said, "Ah, we know who your mother is, but we don't know who your father is." HAVE YOU EVER FACED THAT? There are people in the world who are 43:14 like that. There are some well-known servants of God who were born to women who were not married. Nobody knows their father. 43:33 And they grew up with a reproach. But they could look at Jesus and say, "Lord, you also faced that reproach." Anything that you face from other human beings, Jesus has already faced. Not when he was 30 years old only. 44:00 Even when he was 8 years old, and he's going to school with the other boys walking down the road, I can imagine some of the old people sitting by the side of the road talking to each other. 44:20 You see that boy there, the one that Jesus in the middle? That is Mary's son. We don't know who the father is. And he would have heard it. 8 years old. You know what I'm saying? Supposing your 8-year-old boy faced that 44:38 every day when he goes to school. And all the children in the school tease him. Jesus, who's your father? We don't know. Nobody knows. He suffered from childhood. 45:00 Why? For your sake, for my sake. Remember that. Sometimes we think, "Oh, Lord, what a lot I'm suffering for you." You have suffered nothing compared to 45:18 what he suffered for 33 years. I told you from the time he was a child, and when he's grown up also, when they are angry, they'll call him son of Mary. All this opposition of sinners. 45:42 Think of that when other SINNERS OPPOSE YOU. THE SECOND thing is the opposition of the devil and temptation. That is mentioned in verse four. 46:03 Hebrews 12:4. He says, "You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin." He's taking talking about the example of 46:21 Jesus. And you are also striving against sin. After some time, you yield and you commit that sin. Don't you have that experience? 46:40 Somebody tempts you to be angry. He gets angry with you. And you control yourself. Then he gets more and more angry with you. And you keep quiet. 46:58 Say, "Lord, I want to follow you." But after some time, you say, "This is getting too much." And you get angry with him. You struggled against sin, but not till the end. But Jesus, 47:20 till the end, till the shedding of blood on the cross, he strove against sin. Or maybe you're tempted when you're sitting at the computer or something to lust after something. You say, "No, no, no, I'm not going 47:42 there." I'm not going to look at that. Then after 5 minutes, "Okay, I'll just go there for 5 seconds." You struggled for up to some time, and then you yield it. You did not strive to the point of 48:03 shedding blood. That means you did not strive to the POINT OF DEATH. LIKE JESUS. SEE, IF YOU TAKE a pin, sharp pin, and you poke the finger, like that. 48:26 Yeah, you can poke some more, some more, some more. I can resist it. But when you pierce some more, it's going TO SHED BLOOD. THEN I TAKE IT AWAY. JESUS DID NOT do that. 48:46 When the temptation came, more, more, more, more, MORE, MORE. PIERCED IT. HE WOULD NOT SIN. THAT'S THE MEANING OF this verse. You have not yet striven against sin to 49:05 the point of shedding blood. You resisted up to a certain point. You don't pull away in the beginning. No, you resisted. Resisted. But when it IS COMING TO PIERCE YOUR 49:25 SKIN, THEN YOU SAY, "OKAY, LET me sin." Haven't you had that experience? Whether it is lusting sexually or anger or bitterness 49:44 or you resist in the office telling lies to get some money Many days many days you say I will not sign that false certificate to get money. black money 50:05 Other people are doing it but I will not do it. Month after month they are making money and you are not making money. Then finally you pull back. You say okay. Everybody is doing it. 50:24 So let me do it. There are so many examples like this. It may be something else in your life. Where you resisted resisted and finally you yield. Maybe your parents are telling you to 50:41 do some puja to some idol or do something which is contrary to the word of God. You resisted resisted resisted. And they either they threaten you or they start crying or something. And then you say okay I'll just do it 51:03 once. When it came to shedding blood you pulled back. AND THAT'S WHAT HE'S SAYING HERE. You have not resisted to the point of dying. That the meaning is this. 51:22 Jesus' attitude was I would rather die than sin. That is the meaning of shedding blood. I would rather die than sin. If my right eye offends me I'll pull it 51:41 out. And if I after pulling out my right eye I start lusting with my left eye then I pull out that also. Then I can't lust. Then I cannot lust with my eyes. 52:00 Or if I'm sinning with my right hand and I sin with the left hand The meaning is not literally cutting the hand. Not literally pulling out the eye. 52:18 The meaning is that when you are tempted with your eyes be like a blind man. That's the meaning. Pull out the eye means that. When you are tempted to lust with your eyes and you turn away. 52:39 And 5 minutes later you are tempted again. And you turn away. After 5 minutes you are tempted again. Turn away. After 5 minutes you are tempted again. Then you say it's all right. Let me just look at it for 1 minute. Because you don't want to shed blood. 53:02 You don't want to die. You want to have little enjoyment. Then you come to Jesus and say Lord I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Cleanse me. It's like that little boy who told mother told him today is examination 53:20 day. Don't cheat in the examination. But he says mommy if I cheat I'll get more marks. But you will go to hell. 53:41 SO HE GOES TO THE EXAMINATION. And he cheats. He cheats. And he gets good marks. He comes home and tells his mother see I cheated. I got 100%. But then afterwards I asked Jesus to 54:00 forgive me and I'm going to heaven also. What a clever boy. What a clever boy. You know once a Sunday school teacher was teaching the story of the rich man 54:17 and Lazarus. How the rich man went to hell and Lazarus for the poor beggar went to heaven. Then the teacher said 54:35 Now little children do you want to be like the rich man or you want to be like Lazarus? One little boy got up and said I want to be like the rich man on this earth and like Lazarus after I die. You know little boys are very clever. 55:01 They got their brains from you. We are cleverer than them. Do you yield to sin after a certain point? That is where Jesus did not yield. And we are walking arm in arm with him 55:25 like the bride. Lord if they call you the devil let them call me the devil. If they say you are low caste let them call me also low caste. If they call me you false teacher let 55:45 them call me. And if they tempt if temptation comes so strongly that you resist resist resist and even willing to die my arm is in yours. 56:01 AND I ALSO will resist like you. That is how we run this race. Then you will not get discouraged. Why do you get discouraged? Because you don't look at Jesus. I know many times as a young man 56:25 Whenever whenever I was tempted strongly whenever I was tempted strongly any area to lust or anger or get money wrong way or anything I would say like this. 56:45 Lord Jesus when you were in Nazareth as a young man like me you also faced the same temptation. What did you do there? How you resisted? I want to see a vision of that. 57:03 HOW YOU RESISTED IN NAZARETH AS A young man? When you were 25 YEARS OLD TEMPTED HOW YOU RESISTED? I WANT TO FOLLOW YOU. I want to please you. 57:21 That is the cross we have to take. This is the meaning of taking up the cross. God wants you to do this. And you want to do this. This is God's will. This is your will. 57:39 There's a cross. And there you have to die. So that you do God's will alone. And every time if you do that I will not do my will. Not your will. I will do God's will. 57:58 Jesus did it for 33 years. Let us run the race looking unto Jesus. Because we are his bride. We are one spirit with him. He came down and became one flesh with us. And he says in Revelation 3:21 58:22 If you overcome like I overcame here's the promise. You will sit with me on my throne. I want to sit with Jesus on his throne. I hope you I hope you also want to sit. 58:41 He says then overcome like I overcame. DON'T WORRY IF PEOPLE CALL YOU DEVIL or low caste. Resist sin. EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DIE. AND YOU WILL SIT WITH ME ON MY THRONE. 58:59 May God help us. Let's pray. There are many things God has spoken to you today I know. Are you going to say yes to Jesus in all 59:23 those areas? Say Lord fill me with your Holy Spirit. So that I can run this race. Walking with you as my bridegroom. Running the race with you. 59:47 Help me to be faithful. Thank you. Thank you, heavenly Father. In Jesus' name. Amen. So we looked at 1:00:05 Psalm 1 and Psalm 23 the last 2 days. Now we will look at Psalm 91. 91 Uh this is a wonderful Psalm about God's 1:00:25 protection. It says here in the first verse the one who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. That means I have the Lord over me like 1:00:54 a protection from the sun. You know, just like when it is very hot outside, we like to come inside a roof. When it is raining outside, we like to 1:01:15 come under a roof. So there's a lot of sin in the world and if we are under the Lord, we are protected. So all the things written in the Psalm 1:01:36 are for those who allow the Lord to those who come into the shadow of the Lord. See, when it is raining outside 1:01:56 if you come inside a roof like this you cannot get wet. But if half your body is outside the building, then that half will get wet. But if you're inside the building 1:02:14 completely, you cannot get wet. So there are many people who say the devil is troubling me here, the devil is troubling me there. How can he do that? 1:02:35 That means part of your body is outside the building. That is why he can touch you. If you're in the shadow of the Almighty and the shelter of the Most High then no evil can touch you. 1:03:00 See what it says here. He will deliver you, verse 3, from the snare of the trapper that is from the devil and from the deadly pestilence that is from sin 1:03:19 He shall cover you with his wings and you will not be afraid, verse 5, at night or in the day. Or any sin that is coming in the 1:03:36 darkness or at noontime, day or night, it will not touch you. See this wonderful promise. Verse 10 Verse 10, no evil can befall 1:03:54 you. No evil. No devil cannot do evil to you. Your boss in the office, your landlord, nobody can do evil to you. Plagues in the town will not come near 1:04:16 your house. Verse 7 7 7 A thousand will fall at one side and 10,000 in your right, but it will not come near you. It is not God's will that we should 1:04:42 fall. Jesus can keep us from falling. Thousand on one side will fall, 10,000 on the other side will fall. It will not come near you. 1:05:03 Nowadays, if you see these television preachers all over India, there's television preachers. And you see this. They lay hands on somebody, they fall down. Next fellow comes, he falls down. 1:05:29 Here is a promise for you. Here is a promise for you. Verse 7 A thousand may fall on the left and 10,000 on the right, but you will not fall. No preacher can make me fall. 1:05:52 Even if 11,000 people are falling all around me I will stand. Because Jesus will keep me from falling. Because I am in the shelter of the Most 1:06:09 High. Verse 8, you will only see with your eyes all these people falling down. Because the Lord is your refuge. And wherever you go 1:06:28 says in verse 11, his angels will take care of you. Not only the devil cannot harm you verse 13, you will put your foot and 1:06:45 crush the devil under your feet. All those four animals mentioned there are picture of the devil, lion, cobra, young lion, serpent. You will put them under your feet. 1:07:13 You will not be afraid of the devil, the devil will be afraid of you. Why? Because the Lord says you have loved him, verse 14. I will deliver him. 1:07:31 The Lord says I will put him on high. Because he has known the name of Jesus. He will call on me, I will answer him. Verse 15, I'll be with him in trouble. I will rescue him, I will honor him. 1:07:53 And today we can say verse 16, with eternal life I will satisfy. And you will experience God's salvation. It is all dependent on verse 1. Very simple. 1:08:16 Come under the shelter of the Most High. Not half outside and half inside. Lord, my whole life all my energy 1:08:34 all my family all my property all my money all my plans all my ambitions everything I come under your authority. Then Psalm 91 will be true in your life. 1:08:58 According to your faith, be it unto you. Let's pray. We thank you, Father, for the wonderful promises in the word of God. What blessed people we are. 1:09:24 That no evil can touch us. The God of peace will crush Satan under our feet soon. You will make us victorious in every 1:09:44 situation. Make that true for everyone here. Give us a good night's rest. Give us dreams about the kingdom of God. And refresh us. 1:10:09 Prepare us for tomorrow. In the name of the Lord Jesus we pray. Amen. Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, our Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit 1:10:29 be with us now and forevermore. Amen.
