Despising the shame of standing for truthActing like men means being willing to take up the cross and despise the shame of being rejected by a secular world when we refuse to compromise.

Going outside the camp bearing His reproachJust as Jesus suffered and was crucified outside the city, Hebrews 13:13 calls believers to go outside of backslidden, compromising Christendom, bearing His reproach.Hebrews 13:12–13

Looking past earthly applause for the true joyTrue Christians do not seek popularity, money, or the praise of men through preaching and healing; instead, like Jesus, they refuse to seek honor from human beings.

Renting the veil of the fleshHebrews 10:19-20 explains that the veil of the Tabernacle represented Jesus' flesh and self-will, which He denied every single day to open the way into the most holy place.Hebrews 10:19–20

Giving up self-will to redeem humanityFrom the beginning of His life through the Garden of Gethsemane and onto the cross, Jesus repeatedly yielded His own will to the Father's will to take the punishment for human sin.

Fullness of joy in the presence of the FatherPsalm 16:11 declares that fullness of joy is found only in the Father's presence, which Jesus accessed daily by saying no to His self-will, setting the ultimate example of Christian manhood.
