Stepping into a ministry God never gave himSamuel told Saul to wait for the offering, but Saul grew impatient after seven days and offered the sacrifice himself, committing the mistake of entering a priestly ministry.

A Christianity of the head versus the heartSaul stood out for his physical height and the head representing cleverness, whereas God sought David as a man after His own heart representing devotion.

Saul was not a worshiperUnlike Abraham who built altars everywhere, Saul was a clever man but not a worshiper of God, missing the vital connection between worship and service.

The second mistake with the AmalekitesGod told Saul to destroy the Amalekites completely, but Saul spared the best sheep because he feared the people and then blamed the people when confronted.

Seeking human honor over God's approvalSaul admitted his sin privately to Samuel but begged him not to let him down publicly, showing he cared more about human appearance than repentance.

The tragic degeneration and suicide of SaulAfter losing the anointing, Saul became jealous, chased David, contacted witches, and finally committed suicide, ending a promising life in tragedy.
