0:00 When Jesus was going up to heaven, he told his disciples that you are to be my witnesses to the ends of the earth. 0:23 Acts chapter 1 verse 8, he told them to wait in Jerusalem for the power of the Holy Spirit and he said when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power and you shall be my witnesses 0:50 every country on the earth. That is the clearest statement of Jesus Christ our Lord on what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. 1:12 There are two things we can see there. One, it is absolutely essential to be filled with the Holy Spirit. And when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the proof is not that you will have a gift 1:36 of healing or tongues or preaching or anything. You will have power to be a witness for Jesus Christ. 1:56 That is so clear that you got to be blind not to see it. When Jesus came to earth, even though there were many things written very clearly in the Old Testament Bible, the Pharisees had added many traditions to that. 2:26 And Jesus was always fighting against that. He said, you reject the word of God and you keep your tradition. Today also, so many churches have that tradition. 2:46 Even on this matter of being filled with the Holy Spirit. If you listen to the traditions of churches, you will go wrong. Stick to the word of God. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit. And when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will get power to be a witness for Jesus 3:09 Christ. So we need to understand what it means to be a witness for Jesus Christ. For that, let me show you another verse. John chapter 20. 3:31 John 20. On the day of resurrection, when Jesus appeared before his disciples. He told them. John 20 verse 21. As the Father sent me, so I am sending you. 3:58 So if we want to understand how Jesus is sending us. We must understand how the Father sent Jesus, with what purpose. Jesus did not come on earth only to die for our sins. 4:23 That happened only in six hours of his earthly life. That's all. It's very important, but it was only six hours. What about the 33 and a half years? What was he doing during all those years? 4:48 See, John chapter 1, you will see the answer. John 1.18. It says, no one has seen God at any time. And Jesus came to show, to explain. 5:09 It says here, the Father. He has explained the Father. So no one knew what God was like. When Jesus came. Yes, the Father. And lived and spoke and healed and did so many things. 5:31 To show a world that had not seen God, what God was like. Even the Jewish people who had the Bible had not seen God. They heard all the Pharisees preaching and got the idea, God is like a policeman or a judge making so many rules. 6:03 And Jesus came and showed that God is a Father. He's not a policeman trying to catch you. But even today, there are many Christians who think of God. He's a policeman waiting to catch me if I do something wrong. 6:25 And he is the best father, Jesus said. In the world, there are many evil fathers. But if you think of the best father in the world. Think of the best father you can know on this earth. 6:45 Jesus said, that father is evil compared to how good God is. So, God is such a loving father. And Jesus revealed that by his life. 7:10 So, why did the father send Jesus? Something like this. It's like God saying to Jesus, go to earth. Those people don't know what I'm like. They think I'm a judge and a policeman, very hard man. 7:33 Go down and show them what I'm really like. By your words and actions. That's how the father sent Jesus. And so, it says here in John 1.14. 7:56 We saw in him the glory of the father, full of grace and truth. We saw his grace, and we saw his truth. We saw him putting his arms around the lepers. And we saw him whipping out the money changers. 8:20 That is grace and truth. Showing that the father is kind and he is strict. So, there are two sides to God. And that is mentioned in Romans 11.22. Here it says, Romans 11.22. 8:45 Behold the kindness and the severity of God. Behold means, look carefully at that. Look carefully and see how kind God is. And don't just think of that. Then see how strict he is. 9:10 So, a good father will be very kind and very strict. A good mother will be very kind and very strict. If you are only strict with your children, you are not a good father or mother. 9:38 If you are only kind, always kind to your children, you are not a good father or mother. That is like one side of the body. One side is only half a body. What about the other side? 9:58 You need the kindness and the severity of God. Grace and truth. That is the balance. And Jesus did it perfectly. And at the end of his life. John chapter 14. 10:21 One of his disciples, Philip, came to him. Verse 8. And said, Lord, now you are going away. Just show us the father before you go away. Just show us the father once and that is enough for us. What was Jesus' answer? 10:43 Have I been so long with you, Philip? And you are still saying, show us the father? He who has seen me has seen the father. Did you see me washing the feet just now? 11:05 That is the father. Did you see me whipping the money changers a few years ago? That is the father. Did you see me telling the woman caught in adultery, I don't condemn you, don't sin again. That is the father. 11:27 Did you see me telling the Pharisees, you generation of vipers, you will definitely go to hell. That is the father. Kindness and severity. It was a perfect picture of the father. 11:48 So that at the end of his life, he could say. If you have watched, and Philip had watched his life only for three and a half years, not 33 years. That is enough. If you have seen my life for three and a half years, you know what God is like. 12:11 Now, keep that in mind. Now the Lord says, you go as the father sent me. So what should we be able to say towards the end of our life? Think about it. If you have seen me, you have seen a little bit of what Jesus is like. 12:43 Not perfect yet. But going in that direction. So what does it mean to be a witness for Jesus Christ? The Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be my witnesses. That means I have to show this world what Jesus is like by my life and by my speech. 13:10 Have you seen that as your calling? But you say, there is nobody on earth like Jesus. Nobody can be like him till he comes. Even Paul said, I am not yet attained. 13:32 That's right. But Paul said, I am pressing on. So the question is this. Are we moving in that direction like climbing a mountain? Have you seen our calling? You know, when you get into a train, you know where you are going. 13:56 You go to a bus stand, you get into a bus, you know where the bus is going. You say, I don't want to go to this place, I will get into a bus which is taking me there. 14:16 Even if you are riding a bicycle, you know where you are going. Now as a Christian, do you know where you should be going? That's what I want to tell you. To show this world exactly what Jesus is like. 14:40 That is my goal. I haven't reached there yet. But my goal is that people who look at my life and my speech should see Jesus. So don't say, I haven't reached there yet. 15:04 If you are in the right bus, it may take you 10 hours to reach your home. But, every hour you are getting closer to your home. Then you are in the right bus. Or you are in the wrong bus if you are going some other way. 15:25 So my question is not whether you have become like Jesus. I am asking you, are you getting closer and closer to that goal? Every year, that means, 15:45 can your husband say about you, you know in the last one year, you have become more like Jesus. Can your wife say about you, in the last one year, you are speaking more like Jesus. 16:11 Can they say that? Can you say that about each other? Very often it is not like that. First year of marriage, they were speaking to each other like the devil. Ten years later also, they are speaking like the devil to each other. 16:33 Then you are not even going in the right direction. What does it mean to be a witness for Jesus Christ? He said in Acts 1.8, first in Jerusalem, then Judea, then Samaria, 16:53 then the uttermost parts of the earth. That is like bigger, bigger circles. So first of all, Jerusalem, that is my home, where I am living. So I have to be a witness for Christ, first in my home, and in my office. 17:15 Then, to more and more places. So, our calling, is to be like Jesus Christ. And that is what we need to ask ourselves. And, if we don't see that, we will just keep on living the Christian life, 17:35 thinking Christian life is just going to meetings, and singing songs. Just like you want your children to go, every year to a higher class. God wants us to become more and more like Christ every year. 17:58 Many of you were here last year for this convocation. Now compare your life with last year. Have you become a little more like Jesus Christ? Every year, that is what we need to ask ourselves. 18:20 Otherwise, we have to say, we are failing. It is like a child failing in the same class every year. This is the truth, that many Christians have not understood. 18:41 So, then we ask ourselves, what did Jesus do in his life, throughout his life? In one sentence, can we say what Jesus did throughout his life? One sentence. I will show you, in John chapter 6. 19:03 John chapter 6, verse 38, in Jesus' own words, he tells us, why he came down from heaven to earth. Why the father sent him to earth. 19:24 I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. He came here to do the will of his father. And he never did his own will. 19:49 Let's get that clearly. How did Jesus live? Every day, he said no to his own will, and he did the will of his father. Right from the time he was a child. For example, 20:10 God told him, you have to go, and live in the home of Joseph and Mary. And be an example to all the other children in Israel, how children should behave towards their parents. 20:31 And so we read in Luke chapter 2, and verse 51, Jesus went down to Nazareth with Joseph and Mary, and he was subject to them continually. 20:54 Continue to be in subjection. Now, that is very difficult. He was 12 years old. You ask your 12-year-old son, or your 12-year-old daughter, is it easy to obey daddy and mommy every day? 21:18 You ask them. When you go home, you ask your child, do you find it easy to obey me every day? If they are honest, they'll say, mommy, it's very difficult to obey me. Sometimes yes, but not all the time. 21:40 Sometimes I want to do something, and you tell me to do something else. I want to go and play, and you tell me to come inside home. All children find it very difficult to obey their parents. Parents tell a daughter, now dress little modestly, 22:00 they want to dress little stylishly. And Jesus found it more difficult. Why? Because he was perfect. Your children are not perfect. 22:22 Jesus was perfect. And Joseph and Mary were imperfect. And they were telling him what to do. Must have been very difficult for him. I'll use an example to show you how difficult it is. 22:42 Supposing you are a very experienced worker, working in a factory. You worked there for 20 years, and you know exactly how this machine works. And one day, one new officer comes, who's only about 25, 30 years old. 23:06 And you have to work under him. He has a lot of head knowledge, he's got a degree, but he's got no experience. And he comes and tells you how to work. And everything he says is wrong. Because he's got a lot of knowledge, 23:24 but no experience. Can you imagine how you would find it, to work under such a man, who doesn't know what he's saying? And if he says, I'm your boss, you've got to listen to me. It'll be so difficult for you. 23:44 Because you know your job perfectly, and he does not know it. That is exactly how Jesus felt, living in that house. He was perfect. Joseph and Mary were imperfect. 24:05 And God told Jesus, submit to them. What is the result? The self-will of Jesus was broken. He knows this is the way to do it. 24:26 Joseph and Mary say, do it like this. Okay, mommy, I'll do it like this. And, just like you'd find it difficult, to submit to a useless boss, how it breaks you. Jesus was broken, broken, broken, broken, right up to the age of 30. 24:51 He never did, never did his own will. He always did the will of his father. Why did he submit to Joseph and Mary? Not because they were perfect, but because God told him to do it. I find that same thing, 25:12 in a church sometimes. Some brother thinks, but he knows a little bit of the facts, and he thinks, this elder is doing something wrong, he's stupid. And he rebels against the elder. That's not the spirit of Christ. 25:35 Even if your elder is imperfect, if you're in that church, you must submit to him. Don't you submit to an imperfect boss in your office? You don't rebel against him there. How do you rebel against an elder in a church? 25:58 Because we think in the church, we can do what we like. But in the office, if you do what you like, you'll be thrown out of your job. Submission is what Jesus taught in the first part of his life. And he had to give up his own will. 26:21 Every day, many times a day, he says, he says, as the father sent me, so send you into the world. You follow me, take up your cross every day and follow me. You know what it means to take up your cross? 26:42 Give up your own will and do God's will. Not your own will. Why is that? You see that verse on this poster? He who does the will of God only will remain forever. 27:07 1 John 2. The world is passing away. All its lusts. The lust of the flesh. The lust of the eyes. The pride of life. It's all going to go. What is going to remain? 27:29 He who does the will of God will remain forever. That's why we need to look at Jesus' example. Because he is the one person who walked on this earth who did the will of God perfectly. And he could not do that 27:50 without first denying his own will. Many people don't understand what it means to take up the cross. I found that in all denominations of Christianity. Hardly anybody preaches a message on taking up the cross. 28:13 Because they don't know what it means. You know if you were living in Israel 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem it was a very common sight. Sometimes you look outside you'll see some people carrying the cross and some Roman soldiers 28:29 taking up the cross. And you know where he's going. He's a criminal who's going to be killed. Every week every week you'd be seeing somebody being taken like that. 28:51 It is a very common sight. So when Jesus told his disciples take up the cross they understood it because they had seen it in Israel all the time. Today we read that and we don't and we don't understand it. Because we see 29:08 crosses on top of churches and hanging around people's necks. And those look quite beautiful. Some people carry cross means put a cross around my neck and go around. That is not the meaning. But in Jerusalem nobody was 29:30 hanging a cross around the neck. Because the cross was a symbol of death. So if you want a similar symbol today you have to talk of a hangman's noose which they tie around a people's neck when they hang them. 29:56 It's a rope which they put around somebody's neck when they hang him. That is the cross in those days. Nobody will put a hangman's noose around their neck. No that's such an ugly thing. We have made 30:16 the cross into such a beautiful thing. It is a deception. Can you see a church with a hangman's noose on top? That is the meaning of the cross. But we made the cross 30:37 so beautiful that we worship it. The cross was a place where people were killed. It's like a sword and it means put the sword on your will and put it to death. 31:02 Jesus lived like that always. Like I was telling you the other day when they called him prince of devils Beelzebul. See the natural reaction when somebody calls you a devil is to say who do you 31:22 think you are. But Jesus never said like that. When we are children of Adam we talk like that. But we have to become better and better and better. I had to learn that when I was riding the 31:42 scooter. when you ride a scooter all types of people are disobeying the rules in front of you. And if they touch or something they will start shouting and yelling at each other. 32:03 That used to happen to me sometimes somebody would cross like that. I never shouted or yelled at anybody. but in the early days I would say something a little rude. I'd say who gave you a driving license? 32:25 That's not very kind. I'd go away and Jesus would say you must not speak like that. Say Lord I'm sorry. Next time I won't speak like that. So next time I hit 32:45 somebody I keep my mouth shut just give him a stern look a stern look and then go away. The Lord said even that is not good enough. You've got to improve more. 33:06 Next time I hit him somebody smile at him and say I'm sorry. so I didn't start perfect. I was little by little improving. Don't get discouraged if you're 33:26 not yet perfect. Each time try to do it a little better. If your child is getting 10% in mathematics tell him okay I'm not worried if you don't get 100 next week. 33:46 try and get 20 next week 30 next week 40 he can't go to 100 in one week. Becoming like Jesus is like that. 34:08 Even if you're speaking to your wife it must be better every year. and to your husband gentler softer what do you have to do? You have to die to your own will. 34:28 Your will says speak back. Then you remember Jesus saying as the father sent me so send I you. I have sent you into that home to be like me. 34:50 Die to your will. Die to your will. The secret of the Christian life is this to die to your own will. That is the really humble man. Jesus humbled himself and died. If you're not willing to die 35:10 you're a proud person. So we must see this as our calling. People in the church must see every year you're becoming a little more like Jesus Christ. Can you imagine what a church will be where 35:30 everybody is becoming a little more like Jesus Christ every year. They haven't got 100% yet. But they've gone from 10% to 20%. Next year they're going to 30%. Good. 35:51 Moving a little further and further and further. Examine your life and see if you're fulfilling that calling. Even on the last day of Jesus life in Gethsemane Jesus Christ he was 36:14 struggling and he was saying father take away this cup from me but not my will but thine. That's what he said for 33 and a half years. Last day also 36:34 he says the same not my will but thine. And you know that is what he taught us to pray also. You know that prayer our father who art in heaven thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. 36:58 In heaven no angel does his own will. They all do the father's will. He taught us to pray every day thy will be done in my life on earth as it is in heaven. Now I want to 37:18 tell you something else. The happiest life you can ever live in the life where you only do the will of God. I can tell you this that all the reason for your 37:38 unhappiness and misery is because some areas you are doing your own will. All the complaining and grumbling in your life is because you are doing your own will. 38:02 If you decide from today onwards I want to do God's will in every area of my life you will never be anxious again about anything on this earth. Anxiety comes because we are doing our own will. 38:26 Jesus was never anxious because he never wanted to do his own will. Remember those words as the father sent me so send I you. So if we make this our way of life then 38:46 we can be witnesses for Jesus. To be witness for Jesus doesn't mean just giving out tracts. Jesus didn't come to earth and give out tracts and saying this is what God is like read it. No. He said look 39:07 at my life this is what God is like so we are not to just give our tract saying hey this is what Jesus is like read it. We have to say I am the tract read me. Read my life. That is 39:27 what Jesus is like. So many people have misunderstood what it means to be a witness for Jesus. See to give out tracts you don't need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Even nominal Christians can give out tracts. Even to 39:46 preach about Jesus you don't need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said you'll be filled with the Holy Spirit then you'll be part to be my witnesses. that means if I am to show Jesus by my life I need the power of 40:05 the Holy Spirit. So I hope you have understood today one thing what it means to be a witness for Jesus Christ. It is not just testifying in a meeting. It is not preaching. 40:27 It is not giving out tracts. It is showing by my life a witness that I don't do my own will. Every area I want to do God's will. If you're a young man or 40:47 woman when you're considering marriage what should you pray? worldly people the man wants a pretty woman and the girl wants a rich man. 41:09 Everywhere in the world everywhere in the world you ask a boy I want a pretty girl you ask a girl she says I want a rich man. if you're a believer and you say the same thing you're not seeking God's will. 41:30 You need to say Lord I want a godly girl or a godly man who will help me go in the right direction. I mean whether she's good looking or not is not the main thing. 41:51 Whether she's postgraduate or not is not the main thing. Is she a godly person? Is she a godly person? I want to ask you parents who when you arrange parents for your children what 42:12 do you look for? If you look for exactly the same thing that any worldly person looks for then I would say you're a worldly person you're not even converted. I have four sons and 42:33 I was not at all interested whether they marry pretty women or rich women I wanted them to marry godly women so that they can bring up their children in godly ways. 42:54 You have to be very careful. See there's a verse in Proverbs which I always warn young people it speaks about a type of girl that you must look for and what you should not 43:15 look for. says in Proverbs 11 and 22 about a beautiful woman yeah the Bible is speaking about a beautiful woman but who lacks 43:35 wisdom that means not spiritual very beautiful but not spiritual it says that's like a pig with a golden ring on its nose the 43:56 golden ring is the beautiful face the nature is the pig so when you go to get married you say oh I like this golden ring it is so nice that 44:18 is the beautiful face and you say I want this pig what a foolish person just to get the golden ring he marries a pig that's 44:39 not my illustration that's the holy spirit's illustration a beautiful woman who is not spiritual is like a pig with a golden ring all of you people remember that 44:59 and you girls also when you marry somebody very rich man who is not spiritual he is also a pig with a golden ring look for character so even 45:19 in that area you must say Lord not my will but your will you'll have a very happy marriage see I've been married now for nearly 47 years and I can really say that we have a foretaste 45:40 of heaven in our home we're not perfect that'll happen when christ comes again but we're already getting the perfume of heaven in our home don't 46:02 you want that in your home that when your children grow up they can get the perfume of heaven between father and mother decide from the beginning I want to do God's will in my life when 46:22 you read the bible and you see the standards of God in every situation say Lord I want to do your will how does it how the devil can deceive us sometimes I have used this example many times suppose 46:43 you are working in an office and you did something wrong you spoiled some machine but nobody saw you doing it and the manager comes and says who was working in this machine and spoiled it and 47:07 you keep quiet because the devil tells you tell him a lie telling you didn't go near that because the lie is almighty it can save 47:29 you from being dismissed from the office god says holy spirit tell him the truth say sir i'm sorry i spoiled it but you say lord i'll lose my job god 47:52 says god is almighty not and at that point in your office you have to decide is a lie almighty or is god almighty now if i were to ask you the question here in this church you'll all say yeah god is 48:12 almighty but that day in your office when this week when you do something wrong and you're you're afraid you may lose your job you're tempted to tell a lie there will you decide who is almighty tell 48:34 the devil you're a liar a lie is not almighty god is almighty and if i speak the truth and i lose my job remember the verse those who honor me i will honor god 48:55 will honor you please remember that anytime in your home or office or anywhere you're tempted to tell a lie say lord my will is to tell a lie but i will not do my will your will is to speak the truth what 49:17 did we read in that verse he who does the will of god will remain forever i want to live forever i want to do your will and like that in every area forgive your enemies i never get tired 49:37 of saying that and i'll tell you why i say that because that is the reason why some people are sick they haven't forgiven somebody they take so many injections and pills and still they are sick but 49:59 the problem is they haven't forgiven somebody and that is why some problems are not solved in their life that is why some prayers are not answered let me show you that from scripture please turn with me to mark gospel chapter 50:18 11 and verse 23 this is a verse which we've all read but sometimes we don't understand it he said in verse 22 have faith in God and then see what he said if 50:40 you say to this mountain be taken up and cast into the sea and you don't doubt it will happen that prayer will be granted what 51:01 is this meaning of this mountain the mountain is some obstacle that satan has put in your path to prevent you from doing the will of God you know the devil puts obstacles in our 51:21 way to hinder us from doing God's will God's and God's God's God's way to go to the way to the sea. God's mountain is placed by God. God's mountain is placed by God. God is placed by God. God is placed by God. God is placed by God. 51:36 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, the very fact that Jesus told us to tell the mountain to go away means it is a mountain put by the devil. So here is a mountain put by the devil. That means God wants you to do something and the devil has put a big obstacle in the way. 52:00 You're trying to go, you can't go through. Lord says have faith in God. Tell this mountain in Jesus name, get out of the way. Pray against it. Get out and be drowned in the sea. 52:22 I was telling the young people a little while ago that when God called me to leave the Navy in 1964 I put in my resignation to leave there was a huge mountain in front of me 52:42 this big mighty government of India naval headquarters said you cannot go who is more powerful than the government of India in India only Jesus Christ so 53:05 I stood against this mountain and I prayed and I said you got to get out of the way it took time two years but finally it got out of the way if I had not done that I wouldn't be here today 53:25 I wouldn't be preaching God's word I would have just remained in the Navy and become some big officer and retired so sometimes you can miss God's will if you don't have faith to get those things out of the way imagine if I sat in front of the mountain 53:48 and say oh Lord I'm sorry I can't go I would have missed the will of God for my life and one day I stand before Jesus and the Lord says I wanted you to be my servant not be a naval officer why did you waste your life there 54:11 and I say Lord there was this big mountain you should have told me to get out of the way oh Lord what a fool I was don't have that regret when you stand before Jesus don't let the devil hinder you 54:35 from doing God's will for example God wants you to have a very happy godly home who is the person causing the problem there some in-laws in-laws or neighbors 54:55 or whoever it is it's like a big mountain hindering you from having a godly home don't fight with people pray to God say Lord remove this mountain out of the way I want a godly home there are many situations like this 55:17 say Lord I want to stand against you and then Jesus said so when you pray verse 24 and ask believe that it will happen but that's not enough 55:37 some people say when you pray if you have faith it is enough no it is not enough you must have faith and then verse 25 if you haven't forgiven anybody forgive that person also otherwise your prayer will not be answered 56:00 that mountain will remain and I will tell you what I believe in the lives of many believers there are mountains which are still there for two reasons one they haven't forgiven somebody or they don't have faith 56:21 maybe they have faith but they haven't forgiven somebody and the mountain remains there what are the two things Jesus said here you must have faith and you must forgive everybody I want to live a life like that I am 75 years old now 56:44 and I have served the Lord for 50 years and many mountains have got out of my way the devil has put so many mountains in my way and one by one they go and I say Lord I want to make sure 57:04 not a single mountain stays in front of me so I want to encourage you to live like that all you have to say is Lord I never want my will I only want to do the will of God forever and I will tell you another thing if you live like that 57:26 the devil will be afraid of you let me show you another wonderful verse that has blessed me in 1 John 1 John chapter 4 1 John chapter 4 in verse 17 57:47 in verse 17 the last part as Jesus is so are we in this world read that again as Jesus is 58:07 so are we in this world now apply it to yourself and say like this as Jesus is so am I in this world I say that to myself as Jesus is 58:27 so am I in this world how Jesus lived in this world I am living in the same I want to live in the same world doing God's will doing God's will and the devil will flee from in front of me every mountain 58:49 will get out of the way now this is not only for very mature believers even if you are born again yesterday and you are a baby in Christ say Christ lives in me as Jesus is so am I 59:10 in this world also do you know that's our calling the devil doesn't want you to know that he always makes you feel oh you are so weak you are so miserable you have sinned so much you decide from now on 59:30 that you are going to be different this year Lord the devil is not going to make a fool of me anymore every day of this year the devil is going to run away from me I am not I am not going to do my own will I am always going to 59:50 humble myself and I will have power over Satan see this verse in Romans 8 and verse 37 this should be our testimony Romans 8 Romans 8 37 in everything 1:00:12 we are more than conquerors through him who loved us there are there are some wonderful confessions in Romans 8 and it is good for us to confess all of them let me show 1:00:34 you that quickly first of all verse 28 I love God this is what you have to say to God this is what you must tell God God I love you I want to fulfill your purpose therefore according to Romans 8 28 1:00:54 everything that happens in my life will work for my good that is the number one confession then verse 29 you predestined me to be conformed to the image of 1:01:14 Jesus Christ so that is my goal my goal is not to make a lot of money not to be a big man in the world but to be like Jesus Christ and then verse 31 every day 1:01:35 I am going to say to myself if God is for me who can be against me in the world which devil can stand against me I am not afraid of anybody now that is the other confession if God is for me who can be against me then we 1:01:57 go to verse 32 this is where we begin to doubt will God give me what is the best sometimes you pray for something and you wonder whether God will give it to you your confession your confession must be this God 1:02:17 did not spare his own son but gave him for me definitely he will give me everything else freely with him if God gave his son to me he will definitely give me every good thing freely then we 1:02:39 confess 33 who can bring a charge against me God is the one who declares me righteous if God declares me righteous who can say I am the next confession who can condemn 1:02:59 me I will not condemn myself Jesus Christ who died for me is at the right hand of the father praying for me so who will condemn me the next confession who can separate me 1:03:20 from the love of Christ verse 35 nothing the next confession I am more than a conqueror verse 37 in all situations and last 39 nothing can separate me from the love of 1:03:40 God in Christ Jesus that's the way we are to live every day in the world let the world pass away we who do the will of God will remain forever so take your own time to read through Romans 8 28 to 39 verse 1:04:03 remember this try and read it every day this year only 12 verses Romans Romans 8 28 to 39 say I confess it I confess every verse and may it be so in your life 1:04:23 and let's all have a wonderful year glorifying Christ let's pray Heavenly Heavenly Father we pray that these things we 1:04:43 have heard today will sink into our hearts so that when the world passes away we will remain because we have done the will of God we pray in Jesus name
