such a way that they are so precious to God they become jewels Malachi God put him up exhibited him as an example and God was able to say about him 43:50 maybe not Malachi sorry Job God exhibited him as an example maybe turn there for a moment and I wanted to see a few things that God says about this man this is the first book 44:16 that God wrote it's about a man and he tells us this man lived in the land of Ouz his name was Job and that man was blameless upright fearing God and turning away from evil and he had a family seven sons 44:36 and three daughters ten children he was the richest man in all the earth and his sons verse four used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them 44:54 and when the days of feasting had completed their cycle Job would send and consecrate them rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all for Job said perhaps my sons have sinned 45:12 and cursed God in their hearts thus Job did continually so it's obvious from there this family that he had he brought them up in the fear of God the devil could not point out anything about them in the way he brought up 45:32 his children but yet when they had their parties and it was only between them in each one's house perhaps on their birthday and they would have a feast there and after this cycle was over he would get up 45:53 rising up early in the morning call all his children and they would come they would respond immediately and they would ask dad what did we do wrong he said no you have not done anything wrong as far as I know but maybe 46:14 in your feasting in your drinking in your eating and drinking you curse God in your hearts now I want to offer a sacrifice to God for any sin that you have committed in your feasting and drinking and for each one of them 46:33 you would offer up a burnt offering so we can see that the way he brought up his children in the fear of God no wonder such people are jewels in God's hand and in this book 46:53 of remembrance that God is writing I'm sure Job's name tops the list his name would top the list because it goes on to say there there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord 47:13 and Satan also came among them and the Lord said to Satan from where do you come then Satan answered the Lord and said from roaming about on the earth and walking around on it the Lord said to Satan have you considered my servant 47:31 Job for is no one like him on the earth a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil then Satan answered the Lord does Job fear God for nothing and he would say that of you and me and does 47:52 so and so fear God fear you for nothing and then you know he threw a challenge to God have you not made a hedge about him his house verse 10 and all that he has and we heard that you know from brother Zach recently that God 48:09 has put a hedge about those around those who fear him our life our family our work and Satan has to get permission to break through those hedges and that's what we said but we're 48:29 not looking at that now and you know in verse 11 Satan says put your hand now and touch all that he has he will surely curse you to your face and we know the story we read the book of Job we see all that Satan 48:50 tried to do to break Job's integrity to show that he he was serving God just because he had a good job just because God blessed him with wealth just because God blessed him with with ten children whom he brought up in a 49:09 godly way and many things and even after doing you know Job lost everything and his children all died in a calamity and Job still 49:29 held fast to his integrity in verse 21 Job 1 when they came and told him all that had happened now while he is still speaking something happened the fire of God fell from heaven verse 16 burned up all his sheep and oxen 49:46 while he was still speaking another came and said the Chaldeans formed three bands made the raid on the camels while he was still speaking imagine everything happened in one day how would you react little things disturb us 50:07 little things upset our faith when God takes us through trial we lose we lose your job or a loved one dies in the family and so quickly we can be shaken our faith is shaken where is God 50:27 in all this this man he lost everything in one day while they were still speaking they brought all these bad bad news as you know people would think his sons were eating and drinking in their oldest brother's house verse 50:43 18 and a great wind came and struck the four corners of the house and it fell on the young people and they died all of them then Job arose verse 20 and tore his robe and shaved his head and he fell to the ground and worshipped 51:02 he said naked I came from my mother's womb and naked I shall return there the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away blessed be the name of the Lord through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God and here's a man here's a 51:21 man you know if you have not heard it before no Bible no church no Holy Spirit but yet he lived for God he feared God he lived in a time much before the law was given before 51:42 Moses wrote those five books of the Bible in all this he did not sin with his lips in chapter 2 he says there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves and then again Satan says God says to him where have 51:59 you come from he said from roaming about on the earth and walking around on it you see the devil is always roaming around he's not quiet looking for someone Peter says he prowls about like a lion looking for someone to devour 52:16 but resist him firm in your faith knowing that the same sufferings that you're going through are being accomplished by your brothers in the world that others also are going through whatever you are going through so he's 52:33 waiting to pounce on somebody and devour them that's what Peter tells us and this is what he's doing roaming about on the earth walking around on it and God says to Satan have you considered my servant Joe for there is no 52:49 one like him on the earth what a word no one like him on the earth no Bible no church no Holy Spirit a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil and he still holds fast his integrity although you incited 53:07 me against him to ruin him without cause Satan answered the Lord and said skin for skin yes all that a man has he will give for his life but now put your hand put forth your hand and touch his bone and his flesh he will 53:25 curse you to your face God gave Satan the permission all those hedges around him his family his property and everything his wealth Satan was able to get through and he destroyed them all in one day but now he says 53:46 no you touch his body and see he will curse you and the Lord says he's in your power do what you want but you can't touch his life I not give you permission for that that one inch I not give you then you know the story when 54:07 he's broke out with boils and he suffered he had to have I don't know it was kind of some kind of herpes of boys that that were all the time with pus in it and he had to go outside the city and scrape himself with a piece 54:29 of earthenware and he had to be in the ashes to get relief and his wife lost it says do you verse 9 do you still hold fast your integrity curse God and die commit suicide and he 54:50 says you speak as one of the foolish women speak shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity and all this job did not sin with his lips we see something of the fear of God there we don't doubt he had there was 55:07 a time he started well like sometimes but then as his faith was tested as it went on and he thought everything will be over in one week or one month but it went on and on and there were times there were ups and downs that he 55:24 had and one time he says I know that my redeemer lives and that one day I will see him in my flesh so he had his ups and downs he didn't have the Holy Spirit then but through all this God was giving him an education it's not 55:45 enough that we fear God that's what God wants he has we are his jewels and how are jewels made they have to be honed to bring out their their value their luster and that's what God had to do with Job he feared God he was able 56:05 to hold him up to all the world an upright man blameless and he could challenge Satan and even though you know he went through all these ups and downs and his friends came to comfort him and 56:26 they were saying you know what is the sin you have committed maybe we have committed some sin nobody knew what God was taking him through God was honing him God was making him precious nobody understands sometimes if you 56:42 fear God and you can I've had brothers come to me and say that ever since I decided to follow God wholeheartedly I've been having problem after problem problem in my work spot problem in the home my brother my sister God is 57:03 taking you through that you still hold fast to your integrity he is honing you he is making you a precious jewel that's what we saw in Malachi you still hold on then those who fear the Lord spoke often to one another and you 57:24 can compare yourself to others in the church and think they are good look at that family look how he is prospering they are prospering they are doing well in their job their children are all well but you are going through 57:39 difficulties you are going through troubles and trials we think that nobody nobody knows but all the time you don't see that what God is doing is to break you and that is what blessed my heart to listen to today's devotion 57:58 that that's what God is doing that's what he did with Job in chapter 40 of Job you know if you go there and that is the that is what God wants to do if we still hold fast our integrity we still seek to obey God 58:19 he brings us to this place in verse 40 he says then the Lord said to Job will the fault finder contend with the almighty you know it's possible to fear God and yet find fault with the way God is dealing with you I've gone 58:40 through that and that's what God says to Job now God has a sense of humor there will the fault finder contend with the almighty let him who reproves God answer it then Job answered the Lord and said behold 59:01 I am insignificant what can I reply to you I lay my hand on my mouth instead of arguing with God instead of complaining against God instead of finding fault with God Job says 59:22 I put my hand on my mouth once I have spoken I will not answer even twice I will add nothing more then the Lord begins to speak to Job and Job now is able to listen instead of 59:43 priding himself in his self in his righteousness and how he feared God and how he lived in all the good things that he had did and how upright he was and how blameless he was God was pleased with that and he challenged Satan 1:00:01 but he wanted much more from Job's life he wanted to make him a jewel and so God speaks to him and then at the end and this is the place that God seeks to bring us my brothers and sisters if we fear God he's in 1:00:21 verse chapter 42 of Job and Job answered the Lord and said I know that you can do all things no purpose of yours can be taught it who is this that hides counsel without knowledge therefore I've declared that which I did 1:00:37 not understand things too wonderful for me which I did not know hear now and I will speak I will ask you and you instruct me this is God speaking I've heard of you by the hearing of the year but now my eyes see you therefore 1:00:56 I retract and I repent in dust and ashes when the Lord has broken us completely he's knocked off all the rough edges he's honed us then we can see God's dealings with us 1:01:16 and we repent I've heard of you I know all about you I know all about the new covenant but all that has happened to me I didn't understand and I found fault in the way that you were working in my life Lord I repent 1:01:37 and he says I retract I repent in dust and ashes and that is what the Lord wants to bring you and me to a place where we just don't know about him but that we can know him we can have such a relationship 1:01:57 with him that he can say you are mine you are mine you are my jewel I prepared for my kingdom your name is in the book of remembrance not just in the book of life 1:02:17 your name is in the book of remembrance my son my daughter I'm not finished with you yet that's the place that he seeks to bring us to my brothers and sisters and it all 1:02:37 begins with us fearing God and I believe that we are living in a day where the lines have been erased there was such a lack of the fear of God among God's people that 1:02:59 has crept into the church a lack of the fear of God in how we live our lives that we take so much for granted Jove lives such a life 1:03:19 that even even if his children lived were not wild and ill behaved he still was concerned that in all that they did they 1:03:40 didn't sin against God and that's why he offered up sacrifices for each of them he's a man who feared God Abraham was a man who feared God when he was willing to give to God his only son the darling of his life 1:04:00 and he was ready he was not playing games he was bringing the knife down to slay his son God had given him promises that he would fulfill through Isaac and he trusted God that God would raise him up even if he had to slay 1:04:18 him and the Lord stopped him and stopped his hand in midair and said to him Abraham Abraham stop now I know that you are a fear of God and that is what God says when 1:04:39 we when he sees us maybe in your office in your company you refuse to compromise you refuse to tell a lie maybe you lose your job and God can say to you now I know that 1:04:59 you are a fearer of God you don't mind losing your job you don't mind you know that your children do not get what they have to get because you refuse to compromise you refuse to sign a false statement you refuse 1:05:20 to tell a lie you are of fear of God your name will be written down in the book of remembrance my brothers and sisters they will be mine says the Lord on the day when I prepare my jewels and I want to ask my brothers and 1:05:40 sisters do we want to be in this number or you're just content I'm saved I'm on my way to heaven do you want to God to be able to say you're mine my son my daughter you're 1:06:00 my jewel and that we be in that number which says there in this word in Malachi chapter 3 if you look at it the last word so you will again verse 18 of chapter 3 Malachi 1:06:21 so you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked between the one who serves God and the one who does not serve him God is drawing the lines those who fear him who esteem his name those who yield their lives 1:06:40 to him who do not complain and find fault with him and and what he takes you through and he seeks to make you a jewel your whole fast your integrity then the lines are being drawn that I believe God is doing even here in 1:06:59 CFC God is drawing the lines my brothers and sisters fear God that is the beginning of wisdom like it says you know that Jesus I want you to look at this verse Isaiah 11 Isaiah 1:07:23 11 it speaks of Jesus here God gives so much importance to the fear of God that he wrote a book the first book he wrote was about a man and 1:07:45 the first book he wrote was about the fear of God keep that in mind a man who feared God was blameless and upright that he could challenge Satan that's the first book he wrote and the other book which I just showed you 1:08:05 he is still writing is a book of remembrance he's looking around the eyes of the Lord roam to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong on the part of those who are completely his you know 1:08:25 that word you heard it often we read here about Jesus I want you to see this word in Isaiah 11 this is speaking about Jesus here Isaiah prophesied a shoot verse 1 will spring from the stem of Jesse and a 1:08:45 branch from the roots will bear fruit the spirit of the Lord would rest on him the spirit of wisdom and understanding the spirit of counsel and strength the spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord the spirit of the 1:09:03 knowledge and fear of the Lord and he would delight in the fear of the Lord he will not judge by what his eyes see or make a decision by what he hears but with righteousness he will judge the poor and decide with fairness 1:09:17 for the afflicted it says that he would delight he is quick of scent of the fear of God that's how it is if I fear God you know I will develop it's not just I fear God and that's all I remain there quick of scent like Abraham 1:09:37 when he went to a place he told the king I thought there was no fear of God here we must be able to smell there's no fear of God in this company young people the friends you join there's no fear of God here I have to separate 1:09:54 myself I have to distance myself and if we are not bringing up our children in the fear of the Lord and we allow them to do what they like what a future they're going to have be seek to judge myself there in my conversation what I speak to people and I would say oh no that's okay and I 1:11:33 brush it off I don't fear God you need to do something about it you need to be quick of scent to fear God in money matters the way you handle money if you borrow money and you fail to return it it's 1:11:54 a lack of the fear of God and I was showing you this word about Jesus it's not just what Isaiah said I want you to see Hebrews 5 7 it's sad to see the translators you know in 1:12:14 the version that you all have in NSB you know just put a word that really does not that you don't really understand but I'm thankful for the King James and even the living Bible it speaks of Jesus here says 1:12:34 who in the days of his flesh when he had offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death and you know they speak they put their premature death Jesus would not 1:12:53 die prematurely he was hurt because of his godly fear what did Jesus fear he feared that he might sin that's what he feared not that he was going to die prematurely we've heard this before you've been listening and 1:13:14 he offered up prayers and supplications with women cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death and it was heard because he feared god jesus the son of god the second person of the trinity but when he came 1:13:33 down to earth as a man that's how he lived it was not just gethsemane he he had to battle sin there the great test there that was the final exam but all through what he went through in the wilderness that was not a 1:13:53 drama where he feared to sin he feared to do his own will because when he did that in the last test in Gethsemane where his sweat was like drops of blood where he he 1:14:14 had the free will to choose to drink that cup of suffering it is not physical suffering but to take the sin of the whole world your sin and my sin and be a sacrifice for us and we have heard that we heard brother Zach share 1:14:33 that when he saw your face when he saw my face and God the father would say what would happen what would happen to Ian what would happen put your name there they will all go into darkness they will all go to hell you can 1:14:53 come back you live a wonderful life here on earth and that was a final test we do not know what he went through bible in revelation where it speaks about 1:16:14 the eternal gospel and it says there after the church the bride of the lamb is taken up we read and I saw another angel flying in mid heaven having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth and to every 1:16:34 nation and tribe and tongue and people and he said with a loud voice fear God and give him glory even after this church is taken up that is the word that comes fear God and give him the glory that's that's 1:16:55 how serious it is that that's what God wants that we fear him and then lastly in conclusion I want you to see this word in ecclesiastes in chapter 12 verses 12 to 13 1:17:15 in conclusion when all has been heard I want you to see that this word that the Holy Spirit inspired the wisest man the richest man whoever 1:17:35 lived I'm referring to King Solomon the richest and most famous in all the earth who today listen to this is in hell because towards the end of his life his heart was turned away from God by by the many 1:17:55 foreign women he loved and had his wives and this man this is what he writes in ecclesiastes 12 and I want to close with that and I want that we go to God in prayer and 1:18:17 seek him this morning as a church ecclesiastes peace I really saw you know really alerted me and like 1:18:39 Paul said after having preached to others I fear that I can be disqualified ecclesiastes chapter 12 the 1:19:08 last chapter that this wisest man richest man who ever lived on the face of the earth was known for his wisdom and he says he says this in verse nine we can read from there in addition to 1:19:28 being a wise man the preacher also taught the people knowledge and he pondered searched out and arranged many proverbs the book of proverbs many of the proverbs are written by this man this king the wisest man the preacher 1:19:44 sought to find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly the words of wise men he says in verse 11 are like gourds and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails they are given by one shepherd but 1:20:00 but beyond this my son be warned the writing of many books is endless and excessive devotion to books is wearing to the body the conclusion when all has been heard is fear God and keep his commandments because this applies 1:20:19 to every person for God will bring every act to judgment everything which is hidden whether it is good or evil and where is that man today in hell because he did not repent the women he loved 1:20:40 and he married turned his heart away from God does that bring the fear of God in your heart my brother and sister it doesn't mine it does in my heart because I after having preached to others I too can be disqualified I 1:20:59 fear God I fear God and I want to fear him till my last breath because that is the conclusion fear God and keep his commandments that man who wrote this is in hell today you 1:21:21 can be a rich man a wealthy man and a wise man and fear God and God's blessing will be on you and your family and on everything you have so as we read in Malachi when we consider how it 1:21:42 is today that we can be in those that number who fear the Lord verse 16 and spoke to one another and the Lord gave attention and heard it remember that from today and how we live our life and what we do and when 1:22:02 we compromise and when we are unfaithful and money matters the Lord is watching he gives attention and he hears it and a book of remembrance was written I hope that today you will seek to be in that your name to get your name 1:22:20 in that book to be one who will fear God because God that book is being written before God for those who fear the Lord and esteem his name they will be mine says the Lord on that day that I am preparing my jewels I will 1:22:39 spare them as a man spares his son and when we live that way then the lines get drawn we know can distinguish between the righteous and the wicked between those who fear God and those who don't fear him 1:22:59 and I pray to God with all my heart that that is what will happen in CFC and I pray do not say what I've said this morning I have not said to condemn you it's what God has laid on my heart for myself 1:23:19 particularly that I would seek to be a fearer of God I want to be a jewel I hope that is your desire so shall we bow his Thank you.
