0:02 [music] As we begin this morning, I wanted to share a verse that Jesus spoke to John in Revelation chapter 1 0:18 verse 11. Revelation 111 or verse 10 you can say this. I was in the spirit verse 10 on the Lord's day and I heard a voice heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trump babe saying write 0:36 in a book what you see or write down what you see and so that's uh something that's encouraged me as well as we're listening to God's word the Lord may put something that he spoke to us that we might quickly forget and it's good 0:55 sometimes to take and write down. It might be a verse or something that you need to set right. Write it down so that it will not quickly be forgotten. But this morning, I wanted to share on uh something that I see a phrase that 1:14 Jesus says often. Come to me. He says this more than once. And you might think of some places where Jesus says, "Come to me. Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden. Let the 1:32 children come to me." And uh we'll turn here to Matthew 11:42. Matthew 11:42. I'm sorry. Matthew 12:42. Matthew 12:42. 1:53 The queen of Sheba or the queen of the south will rise up with this generation at the judgment seat and condemn it because she came from the ends of the earth. She came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon and behold 2:12 something greater than Solomon is here. And so again, you see that Jesus is speaking of someone coming to Solomon and also that we should come to him as well. And so I wanted to go over a couple of things where Jesus asks us to 2:30 come to him. And for you children as well, Jesus specifically said, "Let the little children come to me." And so for each one of you, young and old, remember 2:44 God's desire is for us to come to him. If you move uh a page to the left, another come, come to me. Matthew 11:28. 3:00 Come to me all who are weary and heavy ladened and I will give you rest. Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I'll give you rest. And a couple of years ago I was at a low point in my life very 3:18 discouraged, disheartened and I had fears about tomorrow, anxieties about tomorrow. What's going to happen when I wake up? What's going to happen tomorrow? and such unrest in my heart and it was very low. 3:37 And at that time I read this verse, come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. And in the margin of my Bible where it says who are weary and heavy laden, it says or who work to exhaustion. Those who work to exhaustion. I said 3:55 Lord that's me. I've worked to exhaustion where I cannot even go another step. I'm completely depleted. And you said to come to you and that you would give me rest. I'm this man who has worked to exhaustion, weary and heavy 4:13 laden. I don't even know how to come to you, Lord, but in the best of my ability, whatever that means, Lord, I want to learn how to come to you now because I am in a desperate situation working to exhaustion. 4:32 And I thank the Lord that he met me where I was at during that time. There was a competition that they had where they were seeing who could walk the most number of steps in a month and I was a little competitive and so I 4:51 wanted to make sure that I was one of those or I was going to be the one who walked the most. So every morning I'd get up, this is before we came to Loveland. Every morning I'd get up and I'd say, "Okay, I'm going to walk as much as I 5:04 can." I'd go around the neighborhood and we, you know, day after day, get up in the morning, walk, walk, seeing who else is walking how much, and then seeing how much more I have to walk. And as I was walking, I was telling the Lord, "Lord, 5:22 I'm at such a low point. I don't even know what I can do. I'm so weak right now. If you told me a you need to do this, I don't even know if I can do whatever you ask me to. But I know something has to happen. Lord, I am so low right now. 5:41 And uh I was reminded of this passage here that Jesus says on the sermon on the mount. If you turn with me to Matthew chapter 6, Matthew chapter 6 verse 25. We can read from verse 25. For this reason I say to you, Matthew 6:25. 6:00 For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life as to what you will eat or what you will drink, nor for your body as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? And this is the word 6:15 that came to my heart. Verse 26, look at the birds of the air. And that was the word. Lord, look to the birds of the air. That I can do. That's not too difficult. I can look at the birds of the air. I I'm 6:34 pretty sure all of you probably sometime today or in the last week have seen birds. It's not very difficult. Even the youngest child here can look at a bird. And I said, Lord, that's something I can do. And I looked at the I'd look at the 6:50 words and it says that they do not sow nor reap nor gather into barns and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not more worth much more than they? And I said, Lord, that's easy. Anyone 7:10 can look at birds. That's one of God's commandments to look at the birds. Jesus said, "Teaching them to do all that I've commanded." One of the things that God has commanded is to learn how to look at the birds and see that they're well 7:26 taken care of. And it's wonderful. Um he goes on to say, verse 27, "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?" Verse 28. And why are you worried 7:43 about clothing? Observe again. Look, look at what how the liies of the field grow and they do not toil nor spin. Yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory clothe himself as clothe himself 8:01 like one of these. I'm sorry. That not even Solomon in all his glory clothe himself like one of these. But if God so clothe the grass of the field which is alive today and come and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, 8:18 will he not much more clothe you, you of little faith? And so I'd go around the neighborhood walking in the morning and I just the only thing I would do is look at the birds and then I'd look at the flowers as I was walking around and I 8:35 just think to myself, "Oh, that bird singing and chirping and everything. It has no worry in its no care of this world. God has taken care of that bird so well. It's not worried about a thing. And then I'd look at the flowers and the 8:49 flowers also. Not a worry, not a care. And as I'd go round and round, the Lord encouraged me and he took away that anxiety and fear and discouragement. But it all started with this. Jesus 9:08 said, "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden." And for each one of us, you also Lord, I don't know what to do. There's problems that I don't know how to solve, things that I'm concerned about in the future, anxious about 9:28 what the Lord is saying to you is what he said to me. Come to me, Lord. But I don't know how to come to me to the best of my ability. I want to come to you. Another 9:47 place where Jesus spoke about coming to him is in Matthew 12:42. And we read this earlier, but I see that sometimes we know the heart of God by things that he says in 10:06 his word. You might remember in John 4, he says the father is seeking for those who will worship him in spirit and truth. That's the longing that God has. The father has is longing to find people who will worship him in spirit and truth. And 10:24 this is another longing that I see in God's heart. A longing for those who would come to him like the Queen of Sheba did. It says the Queen of She the South will rise up with this generation at the 10:43 judgment and will condemn it because she came from the ends of the earth. If you read in 2 Chronicles 9, which we'll look at, it says that she came from Sheba. Jesus could have said the queen of Sheba 11:02 and she came from Sheba. But he didn't. He purposely said she came from the ends of the earth. Why? To emphasize the pains with which she took to come and meet Solomon. taking all that big company of people, 11:21 camels and all those things, spices and gold and precious stones, traveling from far to go and meet with Solomon to hear his wisdom and she took so much pains and Jesus emphasized that that one person there in 11:40 eternity. We don't know who in eternity is right with the Lord, but there's a few people we see. The Queen of Sheba is one of them. You see her there in eternity. And Jesus uses her as an example, I believe, to show what his desire 12:00 is for each one of us. He's saying, "Did you see how Queen of Sheba traveled from the ends of the earth to go and hear King Solomon's wisdom? There's one who's greater than Solomon here. 12:20 Why are you not coming to me to hear my wisdom?" That's that's what he's saying. The Queen of the South took such pains to look for Solomon and hear his wisdom. I'm here, but are you willing to take the efforts 12:40 and pain to seek me out and hear of my wisdom? Very often in different circumstances of life, it's good to get godly counsel. It's very good. But how many times have we said, "Okay, 12:59 there's a problem I have. Okay, let me go and ask this person or that person. And Jesus is there and says, I'm here waiting and longing that you would come to me and know that all the answers that you need are found in me. 13:16 Why will you not come to me? Jesus says in John chapter 5, John chapter 5 verse 40, John 5 verse 40 in verse the last part of verse 39 and 13:37 these testify about me. Verse 40 and you are unwilling to come to me so that you may have life. Jesus is saying, "Come to me. Come to me. You are weary and heavy laden. I put weary and heavy laden situations in your 13:56 life so that you'll come to a place where you'll be in need to come to me. I'll put you in a place where you're thirsty so that you'll come to me. I'll put you in a place where you're in circumstances and situation where you 14:12 don't have the answers to so that you'll come to me." yet you were unwilling to come to me. And I say, Lord, I don't want you to say that to me that I settled for something else so that I would not come to you. Whether it was for wisdom, whether it 14:30 was for the Holy Spirit filling me, I want to come to you. And they were unwilling. And so if you turn with me to 2 Chronicles 2 Chronicles 14:48 2 Chronicles chapter 9 verse 1 verse 9 uh chapter sorry 2 Chronicles 9:1 Now when the Queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon she came to 15:06 Jerusalem to test Solomon with difficult questions. with difficult questions. She had plenty of money, but there were questions in her heart that she did not have the answer to difficult things. And each of us may 15:25 also have difficult questions. And the Lord may have put those difficult situations and questions in our life for what reason? so that we would seek out for the one who is greater than Solomon. And I know some of us may know have 15:43 things situations that we have to handle. We don't know how to Lord this situation where I need to go and set a matter right. I don't even know how to start. I want to Lord show me. There might be a complicated rel 16:03 situation with the relationship or someone who has walked away from the Lord and Lord how do I speak to them? How do I pray for them Lord? All these questions so many there's a work situation I don't know what how to handle it. A situation with one of my 16:19 relatives I don't know how to handle it. Financial situation health situation a complicated situation and Lord I don't have the answer for it. And why did the Lord put that situation there in your life? So that you would come to him. 16:39 She had many difficult questions. She had a large company with camels carrying spices, large amount of gold, precious stones. And when she came to 16:59 Solomon, she spoke to him about all that was in her heart. Sometimes when we go to the store, we usually go there to get a couple of things. We go there and I want to buy that, that, and that. Here's the money. 17:16 I take it and I come back. And I sometimes find that when I interact with God, it's like that. I go to prayer and I ask, "Lord, I want this, this, this. Thank you. I'll go and attend the meetings. I'll read my Bible." And it's like that. My interaction with 17:38 God is like going to the store, asking him for something, giving him something, and coming back. I seen that in my life, and I'm sure maybe you've seen it in your life. And it's a good question to ask. How is your relationship with the Lord? 17:58 Is it once a day where you ask him for some things and he gives it to you and you say thank you and then you come back? Is that your relationship with the Lord? For the Queen of Sheba, it wasn't like that. She came and she talked to him. He 18:15 asked she asked him, "These are the things that are troubling me. These are the difficult questions I'm having. This is what's in my heart. I pou it all in front of you. I don't know what to do in these situations. Lord, guide me. 18:31 There's a beautiful verse in Song of Solomon. If you turn with me to chapter one of Song of Solomon, Song of Solomon, chapter 1, verse 7. the types of conversations that we have 18:49 with the Lord when we come to him. Song of Solomon chapter 1 verse 7. Tell me, oh you whom my soul loves, where do you pastor your flock, Lord? Where are you taking your sheep today? Lord, let me follow. Where's your Where's your 19:08 One of the first things that Jesus said is at the age of 12, why are you looking for me? Why are you looking for me? Do you not know that I may must be in my father's house? Don't you know that I must be in my father's house? Why are you looking for 19:28 me? And it says here, where do you pastor your flock, Lord? Where are you? So that I may follow and be where you are. That's what it says in John 12 26. He who serves me must follow me so that 19:47 where I am, he may be also. Lord, where are you? Where are you going to pastor your flock today? I don't want to go somewhere else. I don't want to go to a field where you're not pastoring your flock today. I want to go where you 19:59 are. Where do you where do you make them lie down at noonday? So I want Lord I want to know which side of the which side should I cast the net. Where are the fish? I don't know. You do. Where are the fields 20:18 ripe for harvest? I don't know. You do. Where are their dry bones where you want to breathe life into? I don't know but you know Lord. And as we go through life, what is our interaction with the Lord? Is it one of 20:38 a bride and a bridegroom? Is it one of a friend where you talk to him and you pour out your life, your heart before him? Or is it like going to the store and asking him for a few things and giving him a few things and coming back? I say, 20:53 "Lord, I want this relationship with you. You long for it more than I do. And that's why you said a greater than Solomon is here. But how many would come? He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. 21:12 And that is faith. The faith that if I diligently seek him just like she did, that I will see him and meet with him just like she did. And in 2 Chronicles, if we turn back, 21:29 2 Chronicles chapter 9, my longing is for myself to have this relationship with the Lord. He's calling me and his footprints will lead us. That song, as I was singing that song, I was just seeing these footprints, 21:48 picturing what that would look like. And I saw them and I was the footprints were wet and I was seeing what is that? And it was as he was going to Gethsemane as he was going up to Calvary 22:08 the blood from his back and his thorns and his was flowing down and filling the footprints with his blood. And I was like, Lord, with a great cost, you put those footprints that I could follow and find 22:26 you where you are, Lord. And may the Lord show us his footprints that we may follow them to his throne. 22:46 2 Chronicles 9:3 When the Queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, the house which he had built, the food at his table, the seating of the servants, the attendance of his ministers, their attire, and the stairway by which he went up to 23:05 the house of the Lord, she was breathless. Or that expression that we use in English, it took my breath away. I was aruck. She saw a physical kingdom. She saw a physical king and a physical 23:22 entrance to the house of the Lord and her breath was taken away. What if the Lord shows us the heavenly kingdom and the heavenly entrance? I say, 'Lord, show me these things. 23:43 He tells of Nathaniel, he says, you believe this, you will see greater things than these. You'll see the heavens opened and the son of man. I say, Lord, open it up. Open up the heavens and show it to me, Lord. But it all starts with coming to Jesus, 24:03 going and meeting with him, saying, Lord, where is him whom my soul loves? I must seek him. That's in Song of Solomon chapter 3:2. Song of Solomon chapter 3:2. Where is he whom my soul loves, whom I must seek 24:22 out. Verse five. Then she said to the king, "It was true, a true report which I heard in my own land about you, about your words and your wisdom. 24:41 Nevertheless, I did not believe their reports until I came and my eyes had seen it." I heard about it, but now I came. I was not happy with all the reports. I heard from others. I was 24:59 not happy about hearing it about it on a Sunday or Wednesday meeting. I needed to see it for myself. Brother, sister, young person. It must not be secondhand. We must go and seek out the Lord for ourselves. God wants to meet with each one of us 25:17 individually, personally, from the youngest to the oldest. God wants a rich relationship with us. He's longing for it and says, "AJ, will you come?" And each one of each one of us, God wants us to have this type of 25:35 relationship with him. And behold, half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told to me. You surpassed the report that I heard. 25:54 Not even half of what has been told to me. And the other half of what we need to see is when we go and meet with the Lord himself. We might hear a little bit on a Sunday or a Wednesday meeting, but the Lord wants us to seek him out 26:10 for ourselves. Behold, I've in Job, the end of Job, and this must be our testimony in Job. Turn with me to Job. Verse 26:49 5. Job 42 verse 5. I have heard you by the hearing of my of the ear, but now my eye has seen you. Therefore, I I retract. I take back everything I said. I repent in dust and ashes. 27:08 Till now I only heard you but now I've seen you. And that must be the testimony of each one of us that in the eyes of our heart that we see the Lord like Paul prays in E for the Ephesian 27:24 church in Ephesians 1:18. May I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened that you may see the Lord in your heart. And if we turn back to 2 Chronicles, 27:43 2 Chronicles chapter 9 verse 7. How blessed are your men. How blessed are these your servants who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom. 28:02 And it goes on to say, blessed verse eight be the Lord your God who delighted in you. God has delighted in you. I want to hear that from the Lord. I hope each one of us can long to hear that. Lord, do you delight in me? Others 28:22 may say a lot of different things, but you who see in secret, what do you think about me? Can you say like this that you delight in me? But blessed be the blessed be these servants that stand before you continually and hear your 28:37 wisdom. She truly appreciated all these servants that got the privilege of getting to hear Solomon hear him them him speak daily every day they could hear him and 28:53 she's saying I had to travel so far with great pains to come and hear him once and then go back but what a privilege you get to hear him every day she valued Solomon 29:10 And I say, Lord, I want to value you. What does that mean? I don't know. Lord, I want to come and meet you every day. Lord, man shall not live by bread alone, but every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Lord, you have a word that 29:30 you want to speak to me, and I want to spend time and hear those words that you have for me. Morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as a disciple. Lord, what do you want to say to me? I don't want to just say hi and bye. I 29:47 really want to know you. In Hosea, it says a beautiful verse in Hosea chapter 6 in the context of not just saying hello to the Lord and saying hello Lord and goodbye. It says this in Hosea chapter 6 30:06 verse three. Hosea 6:3. So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. Let us press on to know the Lord. Let's not be satisfied with the hearing of our ears and hearing a good report. Let us go and find out 30:25 for ourselves. Let us go and see for ourselves and you'll find out that the half was not told to us. Even for someone who walked with Jesus for so long, three and a half years, this is what Jesus said. Turn with me to John chapter 14. John 30:44 chapter 14 verse 9. John chapter 14:9. Jesus said to Philillip, "Have I been so long with you and yet 31:01 you have not come to know me? You've been coming to the meetings. You've been around a lot of people. You've been around Jesus and yet you have not come to know me. Lord, have I come to the meetings? Have 31:19 I come with my Bible? have I come to and yet have not come to know you just like the queen of Sheba came to know about Solomon. I say Lord open my eyes to see you. I want to know you intimately. I have a question for you and you can 31:43 answer. You have four options here. Which is the city of David? So, if you've read your Bibles, the city of David, I have four options there. If you think it's a Jerusalem, raise your hand. Anybody thinking it's a Jerusalem? Okay. 32:00 How many of you think it's B, Bethlehem? Okay, there's a couple of people with Bethlehem. Who do you who thinks it's C? Both of them. It's Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Okay. How many of you think it's neither? It's not Jerusalem nor Bethlehem. 32:20 Okay. Some of you I don't think answered any [laughter] of but uh based on what I see it's C both of them. If you read the Old Testament it says 32:38 Jerusalem. If you go to 2 Samuel chapter 5, 2 Samuel chapter 5:es 6 and 7, it says that the city they went to Jerusalem and it was known as the city of David. But in the New Testament, if you turn with me 32:54 to chap uh to to Luke, Luke chapter Luke chapter 2. Luke chapter 2. Luke chapter 2, if you read with me verse 4, 33:19 Joseph also went up from Galilee from the city of Nazareth to Judea to the city of David which is called Bethlehem. So in one place it says it's Jerusalem, one type, one place it's Bethlehem. And this is what the angels tell 33:37 the shepherds. Again, we're trying to see. We want to know Jesus and we want to meet with him. We want to come to Jesus. How do we find Jesus? And I I see this here in if you go to Luke 2:8, in the same region, there were 33:56 some shepherds staying out in the fields keeping watch over their flocks by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terribly frightened. Verse 10, but the 34:09 angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which will be for all the people." Verse 11, the angel is telling the shepherds now, "Where do you go and find Jesus?" And he says verse 11, for today in the 34:30 city of city of David, there has been born for you a savior who is Christ the Lord. So they hear he's born in the city of David. Now they have a question. Okay, is it Jerusalem or is it Bethlehem? 34:49 How do they know? I don't know how they knew. But it says here in verse 15, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, and they probably might have remembered, oh, he said, city of David, which one is it? 35:07 And the angels have already left. But they they said began saying to one another, let us go straight to straight to Bethlehem then and see this thing that has happened. That was the first body of Christ. That was Jesus. 35:26 And I see that when there's a situation where we don't know who does God reveal his perfect plan, he reveals where Jesus is. It says in Psalm 25, Psalm 25. 35:42 Psalm 25. Psalm 25. Verse 9, the latter part it says Psalm 25:9, 36:01 "And he teaches the humble his way. How am I going to find the way to Jesus?" Jesus is saying, "Come to me. How will I find that way? If I'm humble, the Lord will show me the way." And I believe that these shepherds, they were 36:18 humble. They didn't have any bright ideas. They said, "Okay, you know what the angel said?" I believe that the Lord gave them revelation of whether it was Jerusalem or Bethlehem where they had to go. And I believe today also if I'm humble, the Lord will 36:38 show me the way. We see another group of people where the star was leading them also. If you turn with me to Matthew 2, Matthew chapter 2, you know who these group of people were as well. Right 36:57 now, after Jesus was born, verse one, in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, the wise men from the east arrived in where? They went to Jerusalem. Instead of going to Bethlehem, they went to Jerusalem 37:13 saying, "Where is him who is born the king of the Jews?" And so I see another group of people who also wanted to see Jesus looking for the city of David. And they went to Jerusalem. And I I I can picture them. They every 37:31 day looking at the star and saying, "Okay, there's the star. Let's follow the star. Let's follow the star. Lean not unto your own understanding. Trust the Lord with all your heart. And we can turn to that verse here in Proverbs. 37:47 Proverbs 3. Proverbs 3 verse 5. Proverbs 3:5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not leave on your own understanding. If the star says go that way, go that way. Don't lean on your own understanding and say, "Okay, maybe it's 38:06 in Jerusalem." And then forget about the star. Don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make your path straight. In every situation, Lord, what should I do in this situation? What should I not do? Do you want me to 38:25 go here? Do you not want me to go? In the life of David, you see many times when he's going to a place, he'll say, "Lord, should I go?" And the Lord will either say yes or no often. But there came one time, if you go turn with me to 38:45 1st Samuel 27. And it's sad all these times he's been asking, "Lord, should I go? Should I not? Should I go? Should I not?" And in this one decision, 1st Samuel 27:1, then David said to himself, 39:03 "Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul." Was that a true statement? Was that a true statement that he was going to perish in the hands of Saul? No. It says in in uh 1st Samuel 23 that God protected him and hid him so that 39:21 Saul would not but here when he was discouraged instead of going to the Lord and saying Lord what should I do he said to himself now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul there's nothing better for me than to escape to the land 39:39 of the Philistines and so he went to enemy camp instead of consulting with the Lord. And you read on he had to lie to stay there because to to the Philistines to pretend that he was one of them. 39:58 Ziglag, his family, everything was ransacked. And later on he comes back and he goes and asks the Lord again. Lord, should I go back? Again, he went back and consult the Lord. And I see that There's two ways. One where we lean on 40:17 the Lord, the tree of life, and say, "Lord, I don't lean on my understanding. I lean on you, the tree of life. I stretch out my hand to the tree of life." Or I stretch out to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Both lead in 40:33 a very, very different direction. And I say, "Lord, I don't want to lean on my own understanding." and what I think is right. Lord, I want to consult you. I want to go like [clears throat] Queen of Sheba went and consulted with 40:51 Solomon. Lord, every situation in my life, Lord, I want to go to you and say, Lord, what should I do in this situation? This seems to be right in my own eyes, Lord, but what do you think before I make this decision, Lord? I want to consult with 41:06 you. I don't want to say oh I I followed the star all this thing all this time now from here I can handle it on my own I've seen that okay Lord up till here thank you from here I've got it I can take care of the rest of the way and 41:24 that's where he made they made the mistake where they said I can take care of the rest of the way Lord I can't take care of the rest of the way I don't know Lord guide me every single decision I want to acknowledge you I want to know 41:37 your thoughts about this. Another another group of people in John 7 John 7 verse 41 41:55 John 7:41 others were saying this is the Christ still others were saying surely the Christ is going to come from Galilee is he verse 42 has not the scriptures said that the Christ comes from the descendants of da David and from 42:14 Bethlehem the village of David was. And so they they listen to this and Nicodemus in verse 50 tells them, you know what? Should we not judge the man? Verse 51. Verse 52. This is what the scribes and the priest, the chief priest, all 42:33 the Pharisees, the chief priests and Pharisees say, the ones who knew the Bible, the ones who knew what is the right thing and right thing. This is what their response is. Verse 52, they answered, "You are not from Galilee, are 42:49 you? Search and see. No prophet arises out of Galilee." Today we have apps, Bible apps where we can search for a verse and say, "Okay, look for a prophet of Galilee and it goes through all the books of the Bible 43:06 and says, "No, no matches, no matches." They knew the Bible so well that they says, "I already searched the Bible. There is no prophet in Galilee." And they were true. They were right. According to the scripture, it doesn't 43:20 say there was a prophet out of Galilee. But were the were they right? Were they right about Jesus? No. Jesus was not born in Galilee. He was born in Bethlehem. Were 43:39 the Pharisees and chief priests wrong? Yes, they were 100% wrong. Did they believe that they were right? Yes, they believed that they were right. Did Jesus go and take the time to correct them that they were wrong? No. 43:58 He let them believe what they believed. And I see that danger. If I think I'm right in my own eyes, what it say? What did our memory verses? Let us not become boastful. Challenging one another. Look 44:16 at them. Challenging one another. Was was he is the is the prophet going to come from Galilee? Challenging one another. Envying one another. And if I have that attitude, I could be completely wrong and think 44:34 I'm right. I say, Lord, I want to humble myself and lean not onto my own understanding so that you can guide me to you. And as we close this morning, there's another place in 44:53 John 7 which says Jesus said, "Come to me." We heard about this coming to Jesus. Coming to know him, little children, come to me. There's another one. Come to me. 45:10 Verse 37. John 7:37. Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood out and cried, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him, let him come to me and drink. Lord, I want this life. Lord, I want to 45:32 find you. Lord, I don't want to be anxious. Lord, I want to have this life, a rich life in you, where you open up, where I pour pour out my heart before you. Lord, I meet with you in a real way. I want this, Lord. Fill me with your Holy 45:51 Spirit. And it says here, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture says, from his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. Verse 39, but this he spoke of the spirit whom those 46:10 who believed in him would receive. And I say, Lord, please do that in my life, Lord. In the Old Testament, he wrote on tablets of stone, Lord, I have a desire, Lord. I want to do your will, Lord. I want to meet with 46:29 you, Lord. I pray only your Holy Spirit can write your laws on my mind, giving me a desire to do your will and also giving me the power, writing it in my law, the law in my heart to do it, Lord. 46:47 And so I pray, Lord, you long for me to meet with you, the greater than Solomon, Lord. Help me to satisfy your soul. Help each one of us Lord to satisfy that longing in your heart. Let us each one not go 47:03 away saying okay. Jesus said come to me and I heard it but I did not go and meet him for myself. May the Lord help us each one of us. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, I pray 47:21 Lord, as I hear of your longing, Lord, you saw how the Queen of Sheba took great pains to meet with Solomon and you said a greater than Solomon is here. How many are going to come and meet with me? I say Lord I want to I pray that each 47:38 one of us Lord move through your Holy Spirit Lord to put a longing in our heart a desire in our hearts to come and seek whom our soul loves. Lord I pray that you would work mightily in our midst. I pray that every single one of us will have a rich 47:57 knowledge of you, meeting with you, Lord, knowing you, pressing on to know you for ourselves. I know you will do this in Jesus name. Amen.
