Even though we are not under the old covenant. 3:55 I can understand there the burden God had for His people. And I see these prophets carried a burden exactly like a mother carrying a baby in the womb. 4:19 Nowadays, in Western countries, there are married women who don't want to carry a baby, so they just adopt a baby. Because they say, this is too much of a problem carrying a baby for nine months. 4:39 You just go to an orphanage and pick up a baby. You can be an elder brother like that, where you want to do the work of the Lord without carrying a burden. 5:03 You can give a message in a church without any burden. That won't have any lasting effect. That is like some teacher in a school teaching something for a salary. 5:30 We may not do it for a salary, we may say, oh, I'm the elder, I've got to preach something Sunday morning. I want to encourage all those who preach God's word, first of all, get down on your face before God and ask Him to give you a burden. 5:52 Don't be like those women who don't want to carry a baby, go and adopt a baby. 6:13 What is adopting a baby? Go and read some book and listen to some tape and produce a message. I'm not saying we should not read books or listen to cassette, that's all good. But, what comes out of your mouth must come from a burden in the heart. 6:42 Jesus said, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Even, you know, Jesus said, sinful things come out of the fullness of the heart. You think of a man who is angry. 7:03 I don't mean just quick, sudden anger. I'm talking about a person who is lying down at bed and thinking what he's going to do to hurt somebody. I mean, he meditates the whole night on what he's going to say tomorrow morning to his neighbor or somebody else. 7:27 From that burden comes out his anger. That man is serving the devil with a burden. What about our serving God? That man lies down and meditates the whole night as to what he's going to tell his neighbor in anger. 7:56 He's not reading a book. He's thinking about how I can show my hatred to my neighbor. We have to do the opposite. He says, Lord, I want to show me how I can show some love to these needy people in my church. 8:19 Every useful work for God comes out of a burden. Every useful work for God comes out of a burden. And God gives that burden. And God can give you that burden only if your hard hands are empty of all the earthly burdens that you are worried about. 8:44 You know, if our mind is full of a lot of earthly worries. And God cannot give us His burden. So, I want to encourage all of you, not only elders, but all of us should have a burden. 9:15 I tell the 20-year-old young people in CFC Bangalore. I say, can't you have a burden for these 10-year-old boys and girls here? Why should the elders take care of them? You are 20 years old. 9:36 You are an elder brother to that 10-year-old. You must try and become friendly with that child. You must first win the heart of that child. 9:56 And then, you can lead him to Christ. Do you know the most spiritual way to win the heart of a child? You buy one Cadbury chocolate and give it to him. 10:19 That doesn't sound very spiritual, but that is the way to win a child's heart. With 10 rupees, you can win his heart forever. And then, you can give him the gospel. Think if all the elder brothers and sisters help all the younger brothers and sisters like that in a church. 10:56 You know, it's like if you have a number of children, boys and girls. And then, as the mother grows up, her work becomes less because the children are doing some of the work in the kitchen. 11:16 And the father's work is also getting less because his sons are going and doing some of the work. That is how it is in all of our homes. The boys go to the market and buy something. The girls help the mother in the kitchen. 11:39 It must be like that in the church. That the younger people growing up are taking more and more responsibility. And this is my burden also. That's why, I mean, brother Arputamani sent me the program for this conference. 12:07 I said, please, cancel my name from some of these sessions. I am not going to speak. There are some wonderful brothers in Tamil Nadu. I would like to hear them. 12:28 And you heard two of them this morning. I don't think I could speak as well as they did. See what God has raised up in your churches. You must value them. Respect them. 12:51 So my first burden is this. That God will raise up young people. Men and young boys and girls. You know, like we heard about David. Who could bring Goliath down. 13:13 I, David was only maybe 18, 19 years old. The reason I say that is. In the book of Numbers chapter 1. Numbers 1, the Lord is telling Moses. 13:36 Who are the people from all the tribes who must go to war as soldiers? And all the way up to verse 46. There is a list of all these people who go to war. But in verse 2 it says. 13:58 It is only those who are more than 20 years old who should go to war. And then many times that is repeated. All the way up to verse 45, 46. From so and so tribe. 14:20 Those who are over 20 years old. And then again in another verse. In so and so tribe. Those who are more than 20 years old. And again and again and again and again. Over 20 years old. Over 20 years old who are ready to go to war. 14:43 So David was not old enough to go into that group. His brothers were older so they went to the war. He was only about 19 years old. Some of you are 19 years old. 15:06 Do you believe God can choose you at that age? I was 19 years old when God chose me. So God can choose you when you are very young. And that is my number one burden. 15:30 That there will be young men and women who go before the Lord and say, Lord I want to be like David. I want to have faith in you like David had. First of all to conquer the big Goliath. 15:51 To conquer the lions and the bears in my private life. You read that. That before he killed. You read that in 1 Samuel 17. Before he killed Goliath. He had to kill some lion and bear in private. That when nobody saw him. 16:17 You know all of us would like to have some public ministry. Where we cast out demons and do mighty works in public. But before you do all that. You must deal with the lions and the bears. That are in your hidden life. 16:45 Now. I have a feeling. That David never even told his father. That he had killed a lion and a bear. Because the reason why I say that is. 17:05 Because when Samuel came to anoint the king. He came to Jesse's house. Jesse called seven of his sons and he never called David. Samuel said call all your sons. 17:26 And he calls only seven of them. Why didn't he call David? Oh he said David. He can only look after sheep. He can't do anything. If David had only told his father. That once one lion took a. Lamb and I killed the lion and. 17:45 Appa. Ormuray singyam. Ahtay. Pidittu kondadu. Naan. Viratty. And the singyam. And the singyam. And the singyam. And the daddy. And the daddy. And the daddy. And the father. The father would have gone and seen. Where is this lion. 17:54 He is killed. And he would have been amazed. That he himself could not do. His son is doing that. He would have definitely called him. When Samuel called him. I think this is the fellow. Who should be the king. 18:16 There is something wonderful. About David in those days. Imagine killing a lion. And not telling anybody about it. He would sit there. And sing songs to God. God had laid hold of his heart. 18:40 When he was a young man. He didn't want to boast. About what God had done. He knew that. In his own strength. He could never have killed a lion. Or a bear. He was not even anointed. 19:00 With a spirit like Samson. With muscular power. But he had faith in God. And he exercised it in private first. 19:22 And he overcame sin. And he overcame sin. We can say. As a picture. He overcame sin in his private life. Before he came out into a public ministry. So the first thing I want to say to all of you young people is. 19:44 There are many lions and bears in your flesh. You must fight them and overcome them. God has got a great ministry for you in the church. With Goliaths to be killed publicly. 20:04 But before that. You ask God to show you. What are these lions and bears in your private life. That you need to kill. And when you overcome them. Don't boast about them. 20:25 And then God will give you a ministry in public also. In the case of a lot of young men. It is sexual temptation. That is a lion and the bear. There is a lot of. 20:45 Between young men and young women. There is a lot of. Physical attraction. And you have to be very careful. In not allowing those things. To go out of control. 21:06 If you are studying in a college. Or you are working in some office. You girls can meet boys. Boys can meet girls. Whenever boys and girls meet. Like that. Where parents are not there. Oh there are a lot of lions and bears. 21:29 Between them. And they will swallow you up. I know so many. Wonderful. Young men and young women. Who have been destroyed. By those lions and bears. And there are others. Who have killed those lions and bears. 21:51 So be very careful. That you don't allow your heart. To be drawn to somebody like that. I was. Just a young man like you. When I was 19. 22:12 Tempted. Just like you. But the thing that protected me was. I would spend most of my time. Studying the Bible. And I would seek fellowship with God's people. As often as possible. 22:33 Every day of the week. If possible. I almost had no worldly friends. Except in my place of work. I never went with my worldly friends. Anywhere. 22:54 Seven days a week. I would go and look for God's people. And fellowship with them. When I was in my early twenties. I had friends in the world. But that was only in the place of work. We would meet and talk. 23:16 And when I came to my room. I would open the Bible. And start studying it. And I would pray. God fill me with the Holy Spirit. So these are the things. I want to encourage you also to do. Let there be a great cry in your heart. 23:36 To be filled with the Holy Spirit. And when you get time. Study the Bible. I used to carry a little Bible in my pocket. I can stand in the bus stand. And read it. You know how many people stand in a bus. 23:56 And they are looking here and there. And wasting time. I would stand there. And read the Bible. I would sit inside the bus. And again open the Bible. I would sit in a train. And open the Bible. That is how I learned the Bible. 24:17 That is how I learned the Bible. By the time I was 26 years old. And you can also learn it. And God gave me a ministry. He can give you a ministry too. And even for girls. I often think of Mary. 24:38 When God was looking all over Israel to find some young. Maybe 19 year old girl. Who can be the mother of Jesus. And he looks at one girl. 25:00 God looks at one girl. He says no she is too fashionable. She is more like a worldly type. She is copying all these worldly styles. I don't want my son to have such a mother. 25:26 He looks at another girl. He is always mixing with the worldly friends. And chatting and gossiping about all types of useless earthly things. And God says no. I don't want that one to be the mother of my Jesus. 25:47 And he looks around and looks around. Finally he finds one girl. She wasn't 50 years old by the way. She was only about 19 years old. At that age. God found a girl. 26:08 Who was not fashionable like these worldly people. Who was not interested in just being like all the other worldly friends. You think there are worldly girls only in the 21st century. In Nazareth in the 1st century also there were. 26:26 And Mary knew many of them but she was careful not to mingle with those type of people. And God watched her and watched her and watched her for many years. 26:49 And God said that's the one. And one day he told Gabriel. Go to that girl. In that street. That house number. In Nazareth. Go and tell her that Jesus is going to be born for you. All of you young girls who are here. 27:13 Supposing you were living in Israel 2000 years ago. And Jesus was not yet born. God is looking over Israel. For some girl. Would he choose you. Would he choose you. 27:34 Very good question to ask. God doesn't use only men. He uses young girls too. Here is 19 year old David. Here is 19 year old Mary. Both of them God needs. Even today. 27:56 God needs you. When you are young. He wants to lay hold of you. And make you fight the battle in your spirit. To kill the lions and the bears. 28:16 And he may allow you to go through many many trials. You know. Mary. Had to suffer a lot of reproach. In that city. In that small village. I mean. Two three months you can conceal that you are pregnant. 28:40 The news goes around. This woman got pregnant before she was married. This girl. What a reproach. The same way with David. After he was anointed as king for 10 years. He had to run for his life. 29:06 He was anointed when he was 19. Why didn't God make him king immediately? We saw in 1 Samuel 17. He was not yet ready to go to war. It means he was below 20. That's in chapter 17. 29:28 In the previous chapter. Chapter 16. He was anointed. Imagine being anointed with the Holy Spirit as king. When you are 19 years old. Nobody had that experience in the Old Testament. Nobody had that experience in the Old Testament. 29:51 There are many kings but anointed by the Lord with the Holy Spirit. And he was not ready to be the king. He was not ready to be the king. The anointing is not enough. Some people think. 30:11 Oh I am anointed. I have got a gift. And I can speak now. You have to go through a lot of breaking. Otherwise you will become a useless king. Who are the first three kings of Israel? 30:36 Saul. David. Solomon. Saul started well. Became a very bad king. Solomon. Solomon. Solomon. Solomon started. Well. But became a very bad king. David. 30:57 Started well. And even though he made a few mistakes. He still completed. His. The Bible says he. Did the will of God in his generation. And then only went to sleep. 31:17 That's written in Acts chapter 13. You read there. In verse 36. David. Served his generation. In the will of God. And died. So there is God's certificate. 31:40 That David when he died at the age of 70. Even though he had made a few mistakes. He did the will of God. He did the will of God. He did the will of God. Now. How is it David finished his ministry so well. But. Saul and Solomon. 31:58 Did not. David. He did the will of God. He did the will of God. He did the will of God. He did the will of God. He did the will of God. Think about that. What did David have. Which Saul and Solomon did not have. Saul and Solomon did not have. 32:11 Saul was born in a rich family. Saul was born in a rich family. His father was a rich businessman with servants. And Saul grew up in that wealthy home. 32:33 No trials. No problems. Suddenly he becomes king. Solomon. Also grew up in a palace. No trials. No problems. He becomes king. And they both become useless kings. 32:57 But David was different. He grew up in a poor home. He didn't have any servants to look after the sheep. He himself had to go and look after the sheep. And then ten years of running for his life. Struggling. Struggling. 33:19 Living in caves. No proper food. All those struggles for ten years. God broke him. So I want to say. You young people. Even if you are anointed. And you have gifts. 33:43 God still has to break you. Through many circumstances. And he will break you. Through your parents. He can break you through difficult elders in your church. I know. He broke me. 34:04 When the elders in the churches I was in were jealous of my ministry. They would try to push me down. And the Lord said to me. Keep your mouth shut. Don't complain against them. 34:25 So I kept quiet. And those many years. God just broke me. And broke me. And broke. It was good for me. And. And. The same thing God did with David. 34:46 It's very dangerous. To be gifted when you are young. And if God does not break you. Your head will get puffed up. And you will destroy yourself. When I was 23 years old. 35:08 I remember brother Buxing. Asked me one day. To speak to. More than 5000 people. In the conference. He did not allow any of his other co-workers to speak. I was only 23. 35:31 First time in 13 years. He asked anybody else to speak. Always he would speak. That could have destroyed me. Because you know. When you stand before so many people. You can get puffed up. 35:53 And so. God saw that. And. He took me through so many things. To crush me. He's done that. Even when I'm 60 years old also. When I'm 60 years old. 36:14 We always need it. So that we keep our face in the dust. The other day. The other day. When. One young brother. Shared a very good message. In our church. 36:38 I went to him afterwards. I said that was so good. To hear what you said. And I held his head. I said please. I pray God will keep your head small. 36:58 And I pray that you. Will keep that head in the dust. He said. Brother Zach. You know. What is the right thing. You. To pray for me. So. What is Zach. I said. 37:19 I love young people. I want them to develop. I only asked him to speak. And. I said. I long that. I have seen so many young people. Who are destroyed. By pride. 37:42 So many. Who start so well. So many elders. Gifted. Destroyed. You have seen that here. In the Tutankarant Church itself. 38:02 It is not easy. To be gifted. And anointed. And stand before people. So. All you young people. Allow God. To break you. In your younger days. Whatever experience. God takes you. To crush you. Accept it. 38:25 The second burden. I have. Is. For older people. That the older brothers. And sisters. In our midst. Will endure. Unto the end. 38:45 In humility. It is very sad. When I see. Older brother. Or sister. Acting. Acting. Proud. Why. The lady. Moot. The second. The second. The second. The third. The third. The third. The third. The third. The third. The third. 39:01 The third. The third. The third. You know. Despising. Young people. While. The third. The third. The third. The third. The third. Or pushing them down. The third. The third. The third. The third. The third. That's. I feel sad. 39:11 When I see it. The third. The third. The third. The third. I see. These people. are not fathers. They're not mothers. Supposing your son or daughter is coming up. Will you push them down? Supposing your son or daughter is doing well in college. 39:30 Do you get jealous of that? Supposing they got the first prize in the college. Do you feel jealous because you never got it yourself? No. You are so happy you tell other people about it. Why don't you treat the young brothers and the sisters in your church like that? 40:00 If you cannot treat the young people in your church like your own children. then you are not fit to be an elder. They are our children. I am so happy to see that they are coming up. 40:21 I mean I sat there this morning and listened to these brothers. And I tell you I wept with joy to see what a wonderful work God is doing in our brothers here. We should be happy when you see young brothers coming up. 40:49 Once man was put out of the Garden of Eden. The first thing you see in Genesis 4 is two young men serving God. Cain and Abel. 41:12 Cain is serving God. Abel is serving God. That is the first story. After man comes out of Eden. Why has God put that story first? Because there is the beginning of Babylon and Jerusalem. 41:38 It begins with Cain and Abel. And it ends in Revelation with Babylon and Jerusalem. What was the difference between Cain and Abel? What was the difference between Cain and Abel? Many people out in the religious world say Abel brought blood and Cain did not bring blood. 42:07 But that is not the reason. It does not say God accepted Abel's sacrifice. It says God accepted Abel. Therefore he accepted the sacrifice. Now see Genesis chapter 4 and verse 4 and 5. 42:30 Read carefully. What did God accept? Not the offering. He accepted Abel. And he accepted his offering. You know that is exactly what Jesus said. That if you bring your offering to the Lord and you have hurt somebody else. 42:51 God will not accept your offering. Even if you say blood of Jesus, blood of Jesus, blood of Jesus, blood of Jesus, God will not accept your offering. No use talking about the blood of Jesus. The Lord said first go and ask forgiveness from that person you hurt. 43:17 Then come and give your offering. Matthew chapter 5. So, and Cain also, it says God did not accept Cain and therefore he did not accept his offering. It was the person God accepted in Abel and the person God did not accept in Cain. 43:39 Now, see the difference between what Cain brought and what Abel brought. Verse 3. I don't know whether it is so clear in Tamil. Cain brought an offering. But Abel brought the best of his flock. 44:01 You know, there is a lot of difference between bringing an offering to God and bringing your very best to God. That is the difference between Babylon and Jerusalem. Right there you can see it. 44:23 When you come to God, you can bring an offering or you can bring your very best. There are many people who, the way they come to the Lord is like this. What is the minimum I have to give to God? What is the minimum I have to do to go to heaven? 44:45 What is the minimum I have to do to be accepted in the church as a good brother who can break bread? What is the minimum, minimum, minimum, minimum? But when it comes to building their own house, Ah, what is the maximum I can spend to build a good house for myself? 45:09 God sees that. God sees the attitude in the hearts of people. That when it comes to their own things, they are always thinking of maximum. But when it comes to my work and my house, it is, what is the minimum I have to do for God? 45:30 All such people will be gathered together and made into Babylon. Even in CFC, such people will be part of Babylon. But then there are certain other people. There are not many like that, but there are a few. 45:52 Whose whole attitude is this? What is the maximum I can give to God? My time, my energy, my money, whatever I can give to God. God sees that. When Jesus came to earth, 46:13 how do you think he served the father? Oh, what is the minimum I have to do for my father? Not at all. From his childhood, his father, Joseph and Mary, had gone away. He was sitting in the temple at the age of 12, trying to witness for his father. 46:33 Two days, he is not worried about his father and mother. He is witnessing for his father. That is the difference between Babylon and Jerusalem. And the other thing I see here is, 46:54 the attitude of an older brother to a younger brother. And there, all older people here can learn a lesson. Cain saw the fire of God fall upon his younger brother. That had nothing on his father. 47:18 And he got jealous. And he called him and killed him. I have seen that happen so many times. The children of Cain are today. They are found in CFC churches. People who walk the way of Cain. 47:42 You read about in the book of Jude, about those who walk the way of Cain. The way of Cain is the way of feeling jealous of younger brothers who got a fire in their heart. Somehow you want to suppress them. 48:02 Because inwardly you are jealous. You feel that people in the church will appreciate them more. You know when David killed Goliath, all the women were singing. Saul only killed thousands. David killed ten thousands. 48:24 And Saul heard it. Till then he was happy. Goliath is killed. But when he heard the women are singing. He became jealous. And he wanted to throw a javelin and kill David. 48:44 I have seen preachers like Saul. I have seen elder brothers like Saul. Who are disturbed that some younger person is having an anointing. Where are the true fathers who will bring up these young people? 49:10 Where are the older brothers and sisters who will endure to the end in humility? That is my second burden that we shall have many older brothers and sisters who will encourage the younger ones 49:30 to come up. Like we heard earlier today. Barnabas is an older brother. He was the one who brought this young brother Saul of Tarsus to the church. 49:52 And now he is saying he promotes him to become an apostle. If you read in Acts chapter 13 I don't have time to show it to you but it is very interesting to see. It starts with Barnabas and Paul. 50:15 Barnabas and Paul. Barnabas and Paul. And somewhere in the middle of that chapter it changes. Paul and Barnabas. Paul and Barnabas. And what does Barnabas do about that? Praise the Lord. 50:37 We need more people like that who are willing when somebody else is coming up to encourage him. Let him develop into a ministry. But protect him so that he doesn't get puffed up and ruined. 50:59 We have to be very careful about jealousy in our hearts. Wherever there is jealousy there is Babylon. I want to tell all of you sitting here if you are jealous of one human being on the face of the earth you got Babylon 51:20 in your heart. Do you feel that I came to the church many years ago and these brothers came only recently and now they are being promoted over me they are speaking 51:42 in the conferences and I am not allowed to speak I have one advice for you you either repent or get out of the church don't ruin the church I say that again either repent or get out of the church and give up your eldership 52:01 and go and do something else we don't want Babylon built here there must be zero jealousy that is the way of Cain that is the way of King Saul 52:21 pushing down David that is the way of these 65 year old Pharisees trying to push down the 30 year old Jesus throughout history and in the midst of that you see a wonderful brother like Barnabas he is quite 52:44 happy to let Paul go above him we want many brothers and sisters like that we want many older sisters who will encourage the younger sisters to go even beyond them and the 53:10 third burden I have is the burden that Jesus had in John 17 father father I pray that there may be one as you and I are one that there 53:32 will be a unity in our churches and that unity has to begin with the elder brothers and and when there is unity there will be a far greater blessing 53:52 of God upon us than we are seeing now and the devil will be defeated Jesus said if two of you agree together you can ask the father for anything you want Matthew 18 verse 18 to 20 if 54:14 two of you are united like that no gap between you that will be wonderful you know when my wife and I got married it's 54:36 1968 there is a verse we got Job 41 verse 16 it's speaking about the scales of a certain 54:56 animal the scales of an animal that are such a tight seal that no air can come between them and nothing can come between them at all and that's 55:18 the verse the Lord gave me you and your wife must be like this no air must come between you it must nothing in between we have tried for 42 years to be 55:39 like that the devil has tried but immediately we close the gap I'm not saying we never had a disagreement or a discussion but as soon as the devil tries that we try to close the gap 55:59 close to close the gap close the gap close the gap are you elder brothers doing that between yourselves are you 56:19 husbands and wives doing that there's there's no air coming between you it's a wonderful verse that's my burden that we shall see more of that in our churches and I 56:42 believe the Lord I believe these three burdens are given by God and you know how a mother has to carry the baby carry the baby till it is born so if God has given me these burdens 57:02 I've got to carry it till I see it I hope some of you will have a burden like that that we shall have young brothers coming up like David that we will have older brothers who will endure in 57:22 humility and encourage these young brothers to come out and third that we shall be united in love you know whenever somebody does evil to us the world 57:44 says the only way to deal with evil is do more evil but Romans 12 last verse says overcome evil with good so which is stronger supposing I were to 58:04 ask all of your question which is stronger evil or good is love is more 58:27 powerful than evil love is more powerful than hatred И here is the commission that the Lord is giving all of you today. Listen to the word of the Lord. Thus said the Lord. Go out into the world. 58:47 And through your life. Prove that good is more powerful than evil. Through your life. Prove that love is more powerful than hatred. Will you take that challenge from the Lord? 59:11 And say Lord I want to take that. I want to go and live in my home. And show that love is more powerful than hatred. That good is more powerful than evil. I want to show that to my neighbors. I want to show that to other people in the church. 59:36 I want to show that no matter what evil somebody does to me. I am going to do good. May God help us. Let's bow before God. Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father. 59:57 There are many things you have spoken to us today. You have told us in these days we can be overcomers. Help us to be overcomers in all these areas.
