God's original purpose for humanity was twofold: to reflect His image and to rule, meaning not being a slave to anything. Sin caused humanity to lose this image and become enslaved to earthly things. While Jesus' death at the cross forgives sins, true discipleship requires going beyond just the foundation to build the life God intended, which is enabled by the Holy Spirit to live according to God's original design.
