Understanding the CovenantsThe Bible is divided into 66 books, but the covenants distinguish the law given to Israel from the new covenant made with the church through Jesus.

External versus InternalWhile the Old Covenant focused on external rules like avoiding outward sins, the New Covenant addresses the heart, as Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount.

Partial versus CompleteThe Old Covenant was partial, requiring a tenth of income or one day in seven, whereas the New Covenant asks for our whole lives and seven days dedicated to God.

Receiving Mercy and GraceWe come to God's throne to receive mercy for our past sins and grace to help us in our time of need when temptation arises.Hebrews 4:16

We Do Not Need to Fear SatanBecause Jesus defeated Satan on the cross, believers who are like Jesus in this world have the spiritual weapons to make the devil flee.

Keeping a Clear Conscience and HumilityTo have power over the enemy, we must maintain a clear conscience by confessing unaddressed sin to God and men, and we must walk in total humility.

Building Together in the ChurchBelievers should not try to live isolated lives where they are easily picked off by the enemy, but rather be built together into a local church community.
