0:00 Good morning, brothers and sisters. Let us read together this week's memory verse. A command from Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord, rather than for men." 0:19 As I meditated on this week's memory verse, I prayed about my attitude towards all my responsibilities as a husband, a father, a son, a worker, a member of this church family. Pretty straightforward message, right? 0:38 But often overlooked by all of us. Those who work in the corporate environment, how many times have you been promoted and the reward is just more work? No monetary benefits attached. Parents, mothers especially, more children 0:57 don't necessarily mean less work or any additional appreciation. Are we frustrated when we don't get the rewards we expect? Why? Let us read a little further in Colossians 3:24. 1:15 And we see that our inheritance is from the Lord. However, the key is heart posture. Let's dig a little deeper. I wanted to quickly highlight a few revelations from my own life. Obedience is everything, 1:34 but with the right spirit. Slaves or modern-day employees are to obey their employers in everything. This is not just to get a raise or a bonus. This is not just to show your bosses while they're looking, 1:51 but to the best of your ability, as you are working for the Lord, the Lord Almighty. Children, this includes you as well. Obey your parents not only while they're looking, but at all times. All work as unto the Lord. 2:09 This verse teaches us whatever you do, do it from the heart. As from the Lord. When I read when I meet my Lord and Savior, I want him to say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." It is the Lord Christ whom you are serving. 2:28 If you do wrong, be casual, careless, dishonest, you will reap the consequences. God shows no partiality or favoritism between master or slave. In summary, Colossians 3:23 calls for wholehearted, sincere work in every area of life 2:48 as direct service to Christ himself. Free from people-pleasing with an eternal reward and accountability in view. This elevates ordinary labor and guards against the spirit of the world. So, let us work heartily as for the Lord, not 3:07 for men. Praise be to God. >> Good morning. That was pretty good. First time I 3:27 didn't have to like do that whole good morning and repeat it. You guys were on it. All right. So, um few announcements. So, Friday night Bible study, we're not we're going to be in here at the Lions Club.
