I would welcome Brother Zach on behalf of the Chennai Church to share the word of the Lord. 3:36 So before these two days of meetings are over we should be able to clearly understand how to find the voice of the shepherd. 4:00 Because that will make a lot of difference in your life. See John chapter 10. One who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep but climbs up some other way as a thief and a robber. 4:30 But he who enters by the door he is a shepherd of the sheep. Jesus is that shepherd. 4:50 So to him verse 3 the doorkeeper opens. That is an elder brother. The elder brother is responsible to open the door only for the shepherd. 5:13 And anyone who speaks with the voice of the shepherd. In Bangalore for many years I was like the doorkeeper. 5:35 But now there are other brothers looking after that because I have responsibility for many other churches. But still because of my responsibility for the churches I try to be a doorkeeper for many churches. So I have to open the door only for those who have the voice of the shepherd. 6:02 Otherwise somebody can come and preach and lead people astray. So the doorkeeper opens and the sheep hear his voice. And he calls his own sheep by name. 6:31 A good shepherd will know the name of his sheep. That is why when the numbers increase in a church we need more shepherds. There is a limit to the number of people named one person can remember. 6:59 So in a good church as the number of the sheep increases shepherds will also increase. In other churches they hire a pastor from other places. They advertise we want a pastor we will pay you so much salary. 7:27 And then all churches it is like that. And then people send in an application and they select. You never read that in the Bible. 7:50 In the Bible the elders always grew up within the same flock. And in all of our 75 churches in India or any country. The elders have always grown up from within the flock. 8:18 First of all we don't pay anybody any salary. because Jesus never paid a salary to his disciples. I don't take a salary. I have been preaching in Bangalore for 40 years. I have never taken one rupee from the church. 8:38 I support myself. And we have about 130 elders. Everyone supports themselves. And they all came up from within the church. Because that is what we see in the New Testament. 8:58 Many people say oh in this day and age we cannot follow all this pattern. But we have followed it for 40 years. And God honors you when you try to honor his word. So the doorkeeper opens the door only for the shepherd and those who have the voice of the shepherd. 9:28 And then when I travel in other places people ask me. Brother Zach who do you invite to speak in your church? If some world famous preacher comes to Bangalore. I don't just call him to speak in my church. 9:51 Even if he wants to speak in my church. I may not allow him. I say there are some tests I give. One. What is his attitude to money? Is he interested in collecting money? I will not allow him to speak in my church. 10:13 Second. Is he a humble man? Type of person you can speak to. Or does he only mingle with high class people? Or is he a person who will mingle with poor people? 10:34 Then thirdly. What is his family life like? What type of children does he have? Are his children following the Lord? That's very important for me. Because as I said. 10:54 Children know us better than anybody else. You know who knows all of you sitting here. Who knows whether you are really living like a Christian. Not at all the people in your church. 11:17 I'll tell you who knows whether you are living like a Christian. Your wife. Your husband. Your children. The servant who works in your home. The people who work with you in the office. They know ten times better than anybody in your church. 11:42 Whether you are living like a Christian. And if your children see that you are living like a Christian at home. They will follow you. Before a man speaks in CFC. I want to know what type of children he has. 12:06 Then fourth. I want to see what type of co-workers. His closest co-workers. Are they godly people? Some junior co-workers who still may not have learnt his ways. 12:27 But his closest co-workers like Timothy to Paul. If I look at Timothy. I can make out what Paul is like. So. A man's closest co-workers. Are a pretty good indication. Of what the man is like. And if a man does not have any close co-workers. 12:53 I say sorry. We don't want you in CFC. You are like a one man king. We don't want kings. The number five. I say can you show me one church you have planted somewhere. I just want to see what it is like. 13:17 What type of church. I say it's after I check these things. That I allow anybody to come and speak in our church. The doorkeeper has to be very strict. And people say oh according to these standards. How many will you find? 13:40 Very few. But there were very few in the first century. There are very few now also. Those are the only people we want. Because in the world they look for numbers. 14:01 Jesus never looked for numbers. You read in Luke 14. When he saw a huge crowd coming. Luke 14. Verse 25. Great multitudes were going along with him. 14:26 Luke 14. Verse 25. The great multitudes were going along with him. Great multitudes were going along with him. Now today the great multitudes are following a preacher. He will turn and say to them. 14:49 Now we are going to take the offering. Now we are going to take the offering. That's not what Jesus said. Yes. Jesus turned and said to them. If you don't hate your father and mother and wife and children. You can't be my disciple. 15:07 And Judas Iscariot would have come to Jesus and said. Don't, don't, don't say such things. You will drive all these people away. That's what Judas Iscariot would have told him. And then he tells them. If you don't give up verse 33. 15:28 Everything you have. You can't be my disciple. Verse 27. If you don't take up your cross every day. You can't be my disciple. What do you think happened to that crowd? Such message will make a church very small. 15:50 The second time. The second time you read a great crowd in John chapter 6. John chapter 6 verse 2. Again the same words. Great multitudes was following him. And he tells them. 16:11 Verse 53. If you don't eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood. You've got no life. But if you eat my flesh. Verse 54. And drink my blood. You've got eternal life. Again my flesh and my blood. Verse 55. 16:34 Again 56. Eat my flesh and drink my blood. and these people said. And these people said. What is this man saying? This is a hard saying. Who can listen to all this? That's what they said in verse 60. 16:57 What are you talking? Eating your flesh and drinking your blood? Who can listen to this? Verse 66. As a result of this message. As a result of this message. Many of his disciples withdrew and never walked with him again. 17:21 Not Jews. Disciples. If the Pharisees left we can understand. These were people who wanted to follow Jesus. He preached so hard. That they went away. 17:41 But he never said. Wait wait wait. Don't go. Please listen to me. He just said. You want to go? Go. And there were. Finally this big multitude became. 12 people. Verse 67. What did he say to the 12? 18:09 He said. I hope you won't go away. Please stay with me. You know what he tells them? You also want to go? He was never, never, never interested in numbers. He was always interested in reducing the numbers. 18:32 Never interested in numbers. He was always interested in quality. And that is why he allowed these people to go. Because they didn't want that quality. 18:53 So, today when people are interested in quantity, more than quality. That is anti-Christ. So, whenever a preacher is boasting about so many people in my church. 19:19 I'm scared. I'm scared for that poor man. He will build Babylon. You know what Babylon is called in the book of Revelation? Quantity. 19:40 Quantity. Quantity. Revelation 17. Verse 5. Babylon the Great. Many times it comes in Revelation. The Great. 20:01 Chapter 18. Verse 2. Babylon the Great. And even earlier in chapter 14 and verse 8. Paul and Babylon the Great. All of us always it is the Great. 20:25 In chapter 16. Verse 19. Babylon the Great. Chapter 18. Verse 10. The Great City Babylon. So, everywhere in Babylon. 20:46 11 times it says great, great, great. That means big, big, big, big, big, big. That's a picture. That's a picture of a false church with no proper door keepers. 21:07 Allows all types of false prophets to come and preach in the name of Jesus. Talk about Jesus will make you rich and he will heal you and all that. And everybody in the world wants health and money. 21:28 Every person of every religion wants health and money. They don't want holiness. So, if you preach holiness, they will go away. But if you say Jesus will give you health, he will give you money, they will all come. Another thing people like is good music. 21:53 So, you get a church with good music. Spend 45 minutes singing a lot of good music. And then preach a message on healing and money. You see the origin of Babylon in Daniel chapter 4. 22:22 The first man who built Babylon was a man called Nebuchadnezzar. He was the first person to call Babylon the Great. Daniel 4. 22:42 Nebuchadnezzar, the king, you read in verse 28. There you read about this king. He was walking, verse 29, on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon. 23:04 And verse 30, it says he reflected. There was nobody there with him. He was alone. He was walking on top of the roof. And he was looking around at Babylon. The city that he had built. 23:31 He wasn't talking to anybody. He was just thinking, it says, in his own mind. Think what he's saying. What he was saying is he said, isn't this Babylon the great, which I have built by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty? 23:55 There are many pastors today who look at their congregations and think, isn't this a big church that I have built? 24:18 By my ability. And everybody knows I am the pastor of this church. And the name of this church has gone all over India. That is how Babylon is built. 24:40 And we have a lot of churches like that today. That's a false church. Here is the true church in Revelation 21. That's called Jerusalem. Not the earthly Jerusalem out in Israel. 25:03 The heavenly Jerusalem. The heavenly Jerusalem. Revelation 21. Do you know what that city is called? Not great city. Holy city. Revelation 21 verse 2. 25:30 Verse 10. The holy city. What is the difference between great city and holy city? One is quantity. The other is quality. 25:51 Every church in the world today Is either big or holy. And if you go after bigness It will be Babylon. If you go after holiness 26:12 It will be Jerusalem. Chapter 21 verse 2. Like a bride prepared for her husband. What does Jesus look for in his bride? 26:33 Not how much money she has. But how pure she is. What do you men look for When you want to marry a girl? Will you marry a prostitute? 26:55 Why not? She may be very good looking. But she is fooling around with many men. How many of you will marry such a woman? You say no. You say no. You say I want a pure virgin 27:18 Who has never been with any man. What type of bride do you think Jesus is looking for? People who just fool around with the world? Do you think he is coming for a church like that? 27:43 Some people think that is what Jesus is looking for. There is a young brother who is the elder in one of our churches in America. There is a young brother who is the elder in one of our churches in America. He is the elder with one of my sons. 28:00 He is the elder with one of my sons. He said something I will never forget. He said do you think Jesus is some desperate bachelor waiting for somebody to marry him? 28:22 There are some men like that. If anybody will marry me I am ready. That is a desperate bachelor. But I say you won't do that. 28:42 I think most of you sitting here know I am not so desperate. I want to wait for a good girl. What do you think Jesus is like? Will anybody marry me please? I am waiting for somebody to marry me. 29:04 If evil people like you and me look for a pure bride. I want to tell you the Lord of heaven Jesus Christ is looking for a pure bride. 29:27 See 2nd Corinthians 11 verse 2. Paul was a servant of God. He writes to the Corinthians. He said I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. Because Verse 2 29:48 I betrothed you to one husband that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. You ask Paul Why are you traveling so much to all the churches? 30:13 Why are you preaching day and night in all these churches? You are going to Corinth, Ephesus, Thessalonica, all these places. You don't take any money from any of them. You don't take any money from any of them. What are you doing it for? 30:32 What are you getting out of it? He said I am getting nothing. But I want to present these people as a pure virgin for my Savior one day. That's why I visit them. That's why I preach to them. 30:54 That's why I write letters to them. What was his aim? That I must gather millions to meet Jesus when he comes. That would be Babylon. I want to present a pure virgin. Evenly there are very few people. 31:20 This is how those apostles built the New Testament churches. Quality, quality, quality. Even in the world. I am sure all of you are looking for quality. Supposing you get Supposing you are going to buy something. 31:43 Say you want a washing machine. Made in China Or made in Germany. Which will you choose? You want to get a Video camera 32:03 Or Some Camera Made in China Or made in Japan Made in China There are so many shops Even in Madras Bangalore Everywhere You go down the street 32:27 Shops There are so many cell phones Made in China It will last about six months And then there are Cell phones Made in America Apple Apple Which will you buy? 32:49 Apple cell phone Made in China Made in China Is cheap 1000 rupees The other one is 50,000 rupees Why people pay 50,000 rupees? You can get 50 China cell phones 33:09 For that price What are people looking for? Quality I want something That will last Only in the Christian church 33:29 People look for numbers Numbers Quantity Quantity Because they don't Value Quality When you look For a school For your children Do you look for the biggest school 33:51 Or a school Which has got good quality Education With good results Why do people Struggle so much To get into IIT IIT Is it because There are 100,000 people 34:12 There? Quality When you want to Take a sick person To a hospital Do you look for the biggest hospital? No Why don't you go to the government hospital? 34:34 Why you go to some hospital Which is so expensive? You are looking for quality When it comes to school You want quality When you want hospital You want quality But when it comes to church 34:57 People say Oh You want to see Some nice big church Somewhere They want to look For a big church They don't look for quality You know why?
