Worthy is the Lamb. We can join in with them in spirit. We want to open the door to the King of kings even at this time. Reading from Isaiah chapter 12. You will say on that day, the day of salvation. 23:43 Today, if you hear his voice, don't harden your heart. Today is the day of salvation. You can come with that faith that the Lord will meet with us. His everlasting love will speak to us according to our need, accomplish his plans and purposes. 24:03 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for although you were very angry with me, your anger is turned away and you comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, not be afraid, for God is my strength and my song and he has become my salvation. 24:25 Therefore, you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation. And in that day, you will say, give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples. Remind them, make them remember that his name is exalted. 24:42 Praise the Lord in song, he has done excellent things. Let this be known throughout the earth. Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel. Brothers and sisters, let's just join in together and cry out to our God and praise him and acknowledge his goodness. 25:01 Lift up your voices, brothers and sisters. Yes, Lord, we want to praise you and thank you. You've done all things. We want to remember, Lord, that all your ways are wonderful, Lord, in our sight. You've done all things marvelously well, Lord, and we praise you and thank you. 25:16 You're worthy to be praised, worthy to be exalted. Worthy, Lord, is the lamb that was slain. We thank you and praise you. Glory to you, Lord. We pray in your mighty name, Jesus. Amen. Please be seated, brothers and sisters. We'll look at our memory verse for last week. 26:10 So this is last week's verse. It was a promise. We can say it together. Isaiah 50 verse 4. He wakens me morning by morning. To listen as a disciple. 26:32 That's Isaiah 54. We can look at this week's verse. We can look at this week's verse. This is a command from Romans chapter 12, verse 1. I will say that together. Romans chapter 12, verse 1. 26:54 Present your bodies. Present your bodies. 27:16 Present your bodies. A living and holy sacrifice. A living and holy sacrifice. Which is your spiritual service of worship. Amen. Brothers and sisters. Let's. Pay attention. Have a listening ear. 27:36 And a heart to what the Lord wants to speak to us. Brother Charles will share the word. To begin. 28:00 I was just thinking about the same memory verse. What we just. Read. From Romans 12, 1. Offer your bodies. As a living sacrifice to God. You know we have many parts in our bodies. 28:20 But there's one particular. Member. In our body. Which always. Gets us into trouble. And you know that. And. That was the word that. Is in my heart this morning. And. 28:41 I wanted to. Share with you a few thoughts. Would you turn your Bibles with me to. The book of. Proverbs chapter 1, Proverbs chapter 1, when we meet one another, people sometimes ask, 29:11 brother, how do I know that I am making spiritual progress? It is something similar to what we do academically. We get our children admitted in school and children from primary school, they learn the alphabets and the numbers 29:39 when additions, subtraction, multiplication, division, so on and so forth, and they go from class to class every year, they are promoted. And that's how we know that they are progressing, seeing their progress card. Similarly, when we get enrolled into the school of discipleship of Jesus by repentance and faith and baptism, 30:09 then we enroll ourselves in school of discipleship. That is what Jesus said in the last verse of last chapter of the first book of the New Testament, Matthew. He says, go and preach and baptize them and make them my disciples and teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. 30:34 And lo, I am with you always till the end of the ages. This is what Jesus, Jesus' last words when, before he ascended to heaven. He said, go and preach and make them disciples, not just converts. That's very important. That's what is very much emphasized here in this church. 30:57 We are called not just to be converts, but to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus just didn't call the twelve to be his disciples, but he called, even during his time, he called a few more others also, follow me. But they didn't follow. 31:17 And today Jesus is telling us to follow. Preach the gospel, teach them, and make them disciples. This is something that is missing in Christendom. Teaching of God's word and obedience to God's word is what is missing. If we want to know, how do we make progress in the Christian life, it's very, very important 31:50 to know that. And it begins with the alphabets, A, B, C of the Christian life. And what is that? That's in Proverbs chapter 1, verse 7, it says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning, or the A, B, C of wisdom. 32:16 And Jesus, when he was on earth, he said, in Matthew 11, he said, Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, I will give you rest. Learn from me, for I am gentle and meek, and take my yoke upon you. 32:42 My yoke is easy and my burden is light. And this is what Jesus asked us to come and learn from him. He didn't ask us to come and learn as to how to make, I mean, give sermons, how to preach, or how to perform miracles. But Jesus said, come and learn from me humility. 33:06 Humility and the fear of God go together. And this is the basic of the Christian life. If we don't have the fear of God, we have nothing else. We can't expect to grow spiritually. And it's all the more important because Jesus said that. 33:29 And it is by the fear of God that we learn to know him more and come closer to him. And it says in the Psalms that the fear of the Lord, by the fear of the Lord, I mean, those who fear the Lord, 33:50 to him, he reveals his secrets. He speaks to them. He is close to the brokenhearted. And the fear of the Lord is the basic. And Jesus said that we need to learn from him. And even the psalmist says the same thing, 34:15 something similar in Psalm 34. You turn with me. It says here in Psalm 34, verse 11, Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you. The same thing what Jesus said, I will teach you or learn from me. 34:37 David is telling here, learn from me, the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life and loves length of days that he may see good? Who doesn't want to desire life, love's life and length of days that you may see good? 34:57 Who doesn't want it? Everybody wants it. And then, if you want it, do the next thing it says. Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it. This is what I was trying to come to 35:19 when we read that memory verse, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice. In our body, there are many members, but there is one little member in our body which has no bones, which is very tiny, but this is the one that gets us into 35:40 many problems most of the time. And this, about this, the Bible speaks more than any other member in our body. We will see that as we go along. And the Bible says in, further in, 36:03 the same book, the same book, it says, that keep your mouth from speaking deceit. And, you know, even Jesus said, and John the Baptist also said, 36:24 almost the same thing when the Pharisees came and wanted to test him and try him with so many questions and wanted to trap him in his own words. Jesus used some of the very strong words, the strongest words 36:44 that he ever used on anybody else. You read about that in Matthew 23 and even in other places, John the Baptist as well as Jesus Christ. He said he called them. You know, in what connection he called them that, you can turn with me to 37:05 Matthew chapter 12. This was all the sin of the tongue. Matthew chapter 12, this is, we read about Jesus going into the synagogue 37:25 and meeting with the Pharisees and they keep asking him questions and he answers and then he performs miracles there in the synagogue and then they say, oh, this man does all this through the help of Satan, 37:45 Beelzebub and things like that. And these were the words that they spoke against Jesus condemning him, thinking that all the good things that he was doing, healing, miracles, preaching, 38:06 they were telling and ascribing these things to him that he is doing these by the power of the devil. And Jesus said to such people in verse 32, Matthew 12, 32, whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man 38:27 it shall be forgiven but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven either in this age or in the age to come. Either make the tree good and its fruit good or make the tree bad and its fruit bad 38:47 for the tree is known by its fruit you brood of wipers this is the strongest verse that Jesus ever used and that too he used on the Pharisees who were the most respected and most God-fearing people 39:07 of those days and these were hypocrites even though they had their Bible under their arm yet they didn't know who was the person in their midst the Son of God the King of Kings the long-awaited Messiah the Christ came in their midst 39:27 but their eyes were blinded and they called him the devil and to such people he says you can you can say anything to me but it's forgiven but only thing make sure that you don't speak anything against the Holy Spirit you brood of wipers 39:44 means you sons of snakes how can you being evil speak what is good for the mouth speaks out of what fills the heart see this is very important whatever comes out of your mouth is the result 40:05 of what's already filled your heart and whatever is filled your heart overflows through your mouth and a good man out of his good treasure brings forth what is good and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth 40:23 what is evil and this verse is very very important dear brothers and sisters take this to heart verse 36 Jesus said here I say to you that every careless word that men shall speak they shall render account for it in the day 40:42 of judgment how many of us believe this we think our tongue is our own and we are lord of it and if we only fear God we will fear 41:03 to speak careless words it says every careless word that men shall speak they shall render account for it in the day of judgment and furthermore it says by your words you shall be justified and by your words you shall be 41:22 condemned you see you can be justified by your word by what you speak and you can be condemned by your word by what you speak and I want you to look at some more verses in the Bible Jesus said in 41:44 I mean we read that in Psalm 34 keep your tongue from evil and from speaking deceit and Paul says the same thing in Philippians chapter 2 Philippians chapter 2 he tells us work out your salvation with fear and trembling 42:03 Philippians chapter 2 verses 12 so then my beloved brethren just as you have always obeyed not as 42:24 in my presence but in my absence also how much more in my absence work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who is at work in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure see God is working inside of 42:43 us to will and to do of his good pleasure and what is it that we have to do very simple he says do all things verse 14 do all things without grumbling and disputing see 43:04 again grumbling and disputing they come from our mouth this little tongue always gets us into trouble keep watch over it the psalmist prayed lord keep watch over my mouth and 43:24 keep watch over my words let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart psalmist prayed in psalm 19 last verse be acceptable to you my God and my strength if we live in that consciousness every 43:44 day let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart lord be acceptable in thy sight oh lord my god my strength if that's our everyday prayer you think god will not help you god is more interested in helping you 44:00 than you are interested in being helped and you know sometimes we come across people who have bad breath and you stand before them you feel like going a little back keeping them at arm's 44:20 length because they have very bad breath in spite of their brushing and washing and using mouth wash and all that also I don't know somehow some people have that bad breath but what is worse is that it says in Romans chapter 44:40 3 about certain people whose mouth is like in 45:02 chapter 3 verse 13 it says about certain people that their throat is an open grave have you ever been to any open grave all the graves in the cemetery that we see are always 45:23 closed you know but if there is a dead rat around your house you can smell it meters a few meters away a dead rat and imagine if there is a dead person who is who is put into an open grave and is not covered i think 45:44 the people on the road also going on the roads can smell some foul smell and they would like to escape it you know there is a quarry here about a kilometer or two and when they were filling that quarry with garbage a few 46:04 years ago this whole area not only this particular place the whole area around Beleshival I mean this Belahali was stinking and we had to endure it for a few days few weeks or rather months stink because of 46:24 the garbage until they completely covered it up now we have fresh air so here it speaks about certain people whose throat is an open grave that means when they open their mouth boy you feel kind of revulsion and you wonder as 46:44 to why at all I came and said hello to this guy no there are certain people like that and it says with their tongues they keep deceiving the poison of asps is under their lips that means snake's poison is under their lips 47:00 whenever they speak they speak with a sting in their words stinging speech hurtful speech this is not good dear brothers and sisters when Jesus went to the synagogue we read about him in Luke 4 when he 47:21 read the chapter from Isaiah a passage then he gave the scroll back to the man and he sat down people it says they were amazed at the gracious words that were falling from his lips it says that was how Jesus lived he had 47:42 no guile in his heart he had no evil malicious thought about anybody in his mind on the last day towards the end of his life he said to his disciples the prince of this world comes but he has nothing in me does the 48:03 prince of this world find something in you and me something that belongs to him maybe gossip or slander malicious talk or stinging word something 48:24 that tears down a person instead of building him up we need to examine ourselves dear brothers and sisters the poison of asps is under their lips whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness and 48:45 there is no fear of God before their eyes before God and between God and him there is no fear of God in between if there is no fear of God in between then a person can speak as he likes behave as he likes 49:06 and live as he likes that's very terrible because there's no fear of God people think that nothing will happen to them because judgment is delayed there's a verse in ecclesiastes because judgment is delayed people think 49:23 that no it's alright even in India you see certain cases are so much delayed that even though the person is in jail the sentence is not passed for a number of years sometimes it 49:43 may be 10 20 25 30 years the judgment is not given and because the judgment doesn't come quickly people think that I mean take it lightly they think that it's okay and they 50:03 will not realize that one day suddenly it comes like a trap and they will be held up for it Jesus said out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks watch over your heart with all diligence it says in Probes for out 50:22 of it are the issues of life if you don't watch over your heart or over your thoughts you know things of life will spring forth from it and it can make or mar you it can build or destroy you by 50:43 your words you will be established or by your words you shall be condemned be careful about how you use your tongue my dear brothers and sisters and James says James chapter 3 quite a lot 51:03 he has to speak about the tongue James says about the tongue he says in chapter 3 verse 8 he says no one can tame the tongue I better believe that some people think that they can tame their tongue by their resolution and 51:22 by their determination and self will they think that they can tame their tongue but I would rather believe the scriptures than believe what any man says he says no one can tame the tongue it 51:44 is a restless evil and full of deadly poison again deadly poison poison of snakes is under their tongue this is James speaking the brother of Jesus half brother of Jesus he is telling no one can tame the tongue and it is 52:03 a restless evil full of deadly poison with the same tongue we bless our Lord and Father and with it we curse men who are made in the image of God you and I are made in the image of God and we curse 52:23 men who are made in the image of God this is what James says James also says in chapter 1 verse 26 chapter 1 verse 26 he says if anyone thinks himself to be religious if you think you are a religious man or rather a spiritual 52:43 man checked by this one yardstick if you think you are religious and yet you do not know how to control your tongue you are deceiving your own heart heart for this man religion is worthless that means 53:03 whatever you speak whatever is your doctrine however much you try to impress people if you do not control your tongue James says your religion is zero it's worthless and 53:24 a babbling fool it says in Proverbs a babbling fool will come to ruin you know people who have that habit of yuck yuck yuck always chattering chattering chattering they have no control I come across some people who when 53:45 I start speaking to them or when I give them a phone call they start talking like express train that never stops and in the middle I want to interrupt them and say hello I mean I mean I want to say something no they 54:05 think that no pearls are falling from their mouth that's what they feel but I don't think the pearls are falling from their mouth it's all garbage they think it is pearls and they will not allow me to talk and I have to 54:23 say hello hello hello hello hello hello I I have to get their attention no I don't know whether they are deaf or what don't they don't allow me to speak at all even though it is my call you come across such people more than 54:41 one and once I was with somebody who kept on talking talking talking without giving me any time to talk for 45 minutes and then I had to tell him something I don't remember exactly that was many years ago 30 35 years back 54:59 or something and I had to tell him I think I kept milk on the store something like that I don't know whether I had switch on the store or not but I had to excuse myself and come round from the roof that is my owner there 55:15 are some people like that they think that their words are like I said pearls falling from heaven it's garbage and you know when do I know that I'm growing spiritually and when do I know that I have found favor with the Lord 55:34 it's very simple the psalmist says in Psalm 41 verse 11 in says this is the psalmist saying by this I know Lord that you are pleased 55:54 with me because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me Psalm 41 verse 11 by this I know that Lord you are pleased with me because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me if 56:14 your enemy Satan doesn't triumph over you and shout in triumph over you you know that the Lord is pleased and that is how that's by keeping your mouth under God's control you know there's a verse in Psalm 15 it's 56:35 about a man ascending the Lord's hill and being in the presence of the Lord being with the Lord he says who shall ascend the mountain of the Lord there's one of the requirements in that is 56:56 that's in Psalm 15 verse 3 that person does not slander with his tongue we have heard about the word slander here in this church it comes from the Greek word diabolos that that's the word that out of which we get diabolic 57:16 and you know the meaning of diabolos diabolic is devilish and a person who slanders with his mouth is a little devil he slanders he does not slander with his tongue nor 57:37 does evil to his neighbor nor takes up a reproach against his friend and there is one psalm full of it I want you to turn there with me to Psalm 120 Psalm 120 I 57:58 want you to take these words seriously you think you can get away with it but you will be caught on the day of judgment by your own words Psalm 120 it says verse 3 58:18 what shall be given to you and what shall it be done to you you lying lips and deceitful tongue what shall be given to you and what more shall be done to you you deceitful tongue sharp arrows of the warrior with 58:39 the burning coals of the broom tree what should be given to the given to such tongue sharp arrows of the warrior with burning coal at the tip of it or maybe at the end of it also with 59:00 burning coals of the broom tree this is the reward of a deceitful tongue and the Lord takes it very very seriously and Paul says about certain people 59:20 in 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 1 Timothy I want you to turn there and see what was the reason why Paul had to take such a drastic step against some people he says you 59:41 read the chapter when you go home this speaks about you know misleading doctrines and some wayward talking of certain people and Paul tells Timothy be careful about them don't get involved in unnecessary unfruitful discussions 1:00:01 about genealogies and arguments about this that and the other which are of no good which will do you no good instead they will foster you know all kinds of ungodliness and things like that and 1:00:21 he says among these verse 20 chapter 1 verse 20 of 1 Timothy among these are Hymenius and Alexander he mentions the names also of two people in the church about Hymenius and Alexander whom Paul 1:00:42 Paul says I have delivered over to Satan he doesn't say just put them out of the church he says I have delivered these two fellows to Satan you know there were two incidents in the New 1:01:02 Testament we read about the apostle Paul handing over people to the devil himself not just putting them out of the church but to hand over such people in the hands of the devil why so that they will learn it 1:01:22 says that they may be taught not to blaspheme you know unnecessary talk and about genealogies and about argument about this and that and you know you go on and on and on without really believing by faith you 1:01:42 use your reasonings and you keep coming to different conclusions you can even end up becoming a blasphemer that's what they came to so that I have handed them over to Satan so that they will not blaspheme 1:02:02 anymore they will be taught not to blaspheme but God can have mercy if you repent Paul says I was a blasphemer once upon a time but I did it in ignorance but God has mercy upon me there is forgiveness with God I'm 1:02:23 not saying that you know God I mean Paul handed them over to Satan so that they can be destroyed no so that they can be taught not to blaspheme and come back to repentance we read about the same thing with another person 1:02:40 in 1 Corinthians 5 who was immoral about whom also Paul says I have handed him over to the devil see it's very serious these apostles had the power to hand over a person to the devil and if you come to a spiritual church 1:03:00 you can't be playing the fool sitting here one day or the other God will expose you there is nothing hidden that cannot be that's not exposed the Bible says whatever is hidden will be exposed made known whatever is spoken 1:03:18 in the bed chambers will be broadcast from the house top rooftop you think nobody has heard it but God has heard it and it will be there for everybody to know when you stand before the judgment seat of Christ on the day 1:03:36 of judgment everybody will know about what you thought what you said all those things will be projected on screen for everybody to see what a great embarrassment that is if you want to be saved from that repent repent 1:03:57 of that and in no it's all the more important for us as to how we walk at home because most of the time we spend our life at home apart from eight hours of sleeping 1:04:17 we spend another three to four hours being at home at least about ten to twelve hours we are at home and that is the place where everybody knows us as to what kind of people we are and the psalmist says in psalm 101 psalm 1:04:38 101 2 and 3 the psalmist says I will give heed to the blameless way when will you come to me Lord I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart if 1:04:59 you are careful about your walk at home with your life partner and children and neighbors around you see what the psalmist says I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart and I will set no worthless thing before 1:05:19 my eyes I will set no worthless thing before my eyes that means I keep my eyes also pure from beholding polluted impure sinful things and I 1:05:41 hate the work of those who fall away it shall not fasten its grip on me this is how the Lord wants us to live in Colossians we read in Colossians chapter 3 verse 8 Colossians chapter 1:06:01 3 verse 8 it says now you also put them all aside anger wrath malice slander and abusive speech from your mouth and verse 6 of chapter 4 in the same book 1:06:21 Paul tells the Colossians let your speech always be with grace as though seasoned with salt so that you will know how you should respond to each person in the message bible it reads like 1:06:41 this be gracious in your speech the goal is to bring out the best in others when you speak to others your goal should be to bring out the best in others not to put them down not to crush them as it is there enough people 1:07:01 or wounded soldiers walking around us who are hurt who are bleeding in a sense discouraged depressed gloomy sorrowful because 1:07:21 of what has happened to them because of the words that others have spoken and put them down and crushed their spirit like somebody said there are more wounded soldiers around us living than the dead soldiers who died in 1:07:40 the war because this tongue acts like a sword we can either use it as a surgeon's scalpel to cut open and heal or we can use it as a terrorist sword to finish off a person 1:08:00 it's in your mouth and it's your choice give it to the control of the holy spirit let the holy spirit control your tongue and lay it on the altar as a living sacrifice then try to speak to people 1:08:20 to bring out the best in them in conversation don't put them down don't cut them out but try to lift them up encourage them strengthen their spirit lift their spirits up 1:08:40 let them go back meeting you with a light heart rejoicing that I met brother so and so I was so happy I have come across certain people definitely in my life when I was going through times of discouragement depression and I 1:09:00 was down hearted I can very well remember a few brothers to whom I went and they encouraged me strengthened me every time I went I was lifted up I never came back furthermore crushed never once these brothers I cherish I 1:09:20 wish to be like them be like that Jesus about Jesus it says he will not break a what's that bruised reed you know bruised reed is already half broken and it's just dangling 1:09:41 about to come off he will not break it further he will strengthen it and he will not put out the flickering wick when the fire is going out from your candle or lamp because of the breeze he will not put it out he will not 1:09:58 blow it off that is how Jesus lived may that be our goal in life and may that be our prayer let the words of my mouth Lord and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight I surrender my tongue to you this day as 1:10:19 an instrument of peace as an instrument to bless others and bring out the best in them to lift their spirit to encourage them and strengthen them Lord make me a person like that and Prabh also says that a soft 1:10:40 tongue breaks bones you want to break anybody's bones do it this way God help us now we will hear the John Pereira and afterwards we'll sing a song and afterwards we'll hear John Pereira 1:11:13 let's sing a song may the words 1:11:40 of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart bless your name Jesus may the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart bless your name bless your name Jesus and the deeds 1:12:03 of the day and the truth in my ways speak of you speak of you speak of you Jesus this is what I'm glad to do it's time to live a life 1:12:24 of love that pleases you and I will give my all to you surrender everything I have and follow you I'll follow you 1:12:44 Lord you be my vision Lord you be my guide be my hope be my life and the way and I'll look not for 1:13:04 riches nor traces on earth only you you be the first of my heart this is what I'm glad to do it's time to live a life of love 1:13:25 that pleases you and I will give my all to you surrender everything I have and follow you I'll follow you I will 1:13:50 follow I will follow you I will follow I will follow you sing the 1:14:18 chorus this is what I'm glad to do it's time to live a life of love that pleases you and I will give my all to you surrender 1:14:39 everything I have and follow you I'll follow you praise the 1:15:13 lord for what we heard as jesus said in matthew 12 verse 34 for mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart also jesus little later after three chapters matthew 15 1:15:34 verse 18 he said but the things that proceeds out of the mouth come from the heart and those who defile the man we all have tanks I was thinking about this much we all have overhead tanks in 1:15:55 our house we fill that we pumping the water but all of a sudden we find our taps when we open the taps dirty water is coming what do we do shall we change the tap clean the tap no we 1:16:15 have to go up and check how is or over a tank for example yeah in sometimes if I go and check the tank on top and I carry little dirt and open the tank and check and 1:16:35 put some dirt and come down do you think I'm doing good that's what happens many times we we have to be careful with the tap but more than that we have to check whether I'm 1:16:57 not putting dirt into the tank what Jesus is saying is that good we need to be careful with the tongue but important to keep my heart clean so that I protect my heart 1:17:17 what do I mean I take the dirt and put it into the tank that means if my neighbor cause some problem to me I allow that to remain in my heart and mind to defile my heart somebody 1:17:37 does something in the office something happens something goes wrong what do I do with that do I keep meditating on it and defile my heart and what I put inside my mind into my mind for the time when 1:17:58 I go through so many things that matters that's what it says in Proverbs chapter 4 verse 23 watch your heart with all diligence with all diligence because for from it flow the springs of life my 1:18:19 life flows through that my attitudes my tongue my speech everything depends on what my heart is like that's what Jesus is trying to say they were Pharisees were disputing why are you they were disputing why are you eating 1:18:38 without washing your hands and things like that they were more concerned about so many rituals but Jesus said no what you eat doesn't defile your heart that just goes through but what goes into heart defiles your mouth that's 1:18:58 what Jesus was saying I was thinking yeah see like if my neighbor comes to my gate and says I want to check your tank and I find some dirt in his hand the best thing is better not to open the gate but many 1:19:18 times what we do is somebody comes with so many things like brother Charles was saying wants to say so many things defile our spirits want to talk about this gossip slander and many things but we invite that if we close 1:19:35 the gate at least maybe he may throw it gate we can clean it it's gone but if I open the gate many times it happens and he goes up put some dirt into my tank and whom I should blame if I am getting dirty water in my tap 1:19:55 that's what happens many times and that's why when after hearing all this what do we do I want to think about why I came to Christ we read Romans 3 it's good to read again and again I read that many times Romans 3 there 1:20:15 it explains verse 10 onwards it says about my condition before I came to Christ so so there there is none righteous not even one none understands and seeks God turned aside and there's nothing good and then it says their 1:20:34 throat is an open grave it's all description of my past life I was dead at that time but why I came to Christ because through Christ I can be cleansed it's like I have over a tank so dirty full of filth one fine day somebody 1:20:52 comes to cleanse it it's cleansed and cleaned completely and new water is filled but now what is my responsibility I have to make sure lock and keep it that no dirt falls into it that's how it is that's what our responsibility 1:21:12 is now I think of what Paul says in Romans chapter 7 see after all this after he was born again when he saw the struggle within himself verse 7 24 he says it's well known verse wretched man that I am who will 1:21:32 set me free from the body of this death you know it's after hearing something like this you can say oh I need to be careful I need to be careful no brothers and sisters it's not I'll be careful I'll be careful Lord I come 1:21:50 back to you see Paul recognized that Lord I can't I can't be free from this something supernatural that is he says oh wretched man that I am even though I know what is right but I am unable to do then he says thanks be to 1:22:09 God through Jesus Christ our Lord chapter 8 verse 1 says therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus for the law of spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin 1:22:27 and of death you know what we heard is law of sin and of death that's the defilement which keeps coming which was there earlier that's why we came to Christ thanks be to God through Jesus Christ that law of the spirit 1:22:47 of life in Christ Jesus that is the Holy Spirit the spirit of life is the Holy Spirit that can only when it comes it cleanses and gives me a new heart the Holy Spirit writes his laws these are the words of grace that 1:23:07 your words be with grace and seasoned those words how we don't have we cannot manufacture the Holy Spirit has to come inside and write it in our heart and that then when you open the tap clean water comes the Holy Spirit 1:23:26 has to come and do it that's what Paul is saying here may the Lord help us the thing is do we cry out like that it's we can make some decisions and go back but tomorrow it's same but instead of that Lord I won't leave you 1:23:43 Lord I want this to happen the spirit of life in Christ Jesus must set me free and cleanse my heart cleanse all defilement and I think second second Corinthians seven one says cleanse all the defilement 1:24:04 of spirit and flesh in the fear of God it says that that should happen through the Holy Spirit then then we will be set free I want to close with this Acts of the Apostles chapter 2 chapter 2 we 1:24:24 have heard Brazac saying this verse 3 says they received the tongues they appeared to them yeah they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues and I remember Brazac emphasizing I want this 1:24:43 verse 2 suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind and it filled yeah I think verse 3 yeah and there appear to them tongue as of fire distributing in themselves the tongue of fire 1:25:03 a holy fire the tongue set on fire the holiness the gentleness seasoned with grace that's what we need to seek I want to seek I know I cannot manufacture this it has to be the work of the Holy 1:25:23 Spirit may the Lord give us that thirst so that we seek after God to fill our heart if the tank is good if the heart is good what flows from it will be of life may the Lord help us Amen 1:25:54 let's respond to let's bow heads in prayer our father in heaven we want to thank you and praise you this morning for this day that you have given 1:26:14 to us and for this facility that you have given to us to come around your word and be challenged and encouraged we pray that you will bless the words that we heard this morning pray that you will take control of our tongues 1:26:31 Lord as we surrender them to you we pray that you will fill us with your Holy Spirit that the Holy Spirit will take control of our tongues our hearts our minds meditation of our heart the words of our mouth may be pleasing 1:26:49 in your sight always we repent of the days that we have brought disgrace and dishonor to your name and glorified the devil Lord we ask you for mercy ask you that you will forgive us and cleanse us in your precious blood 1:27:08 and Lord we pray that you will pour out your spirit upon us so that we will be changed people from today onwards that we will go with renewed hope renewed heart renewed mind which will result in a tongue that will be 1:27:29 a blessing to others Lord we pray that you will bless us and make us a blessing for your glorious sake we ask in Jesus name Amen Amen we will have a blessing amen amen amen amen amen 1:28:12 to our next time
