Summary The speaker emphasizes that salvation requires both repentance and faith, comparing them to two necessary wires for electricity to flow. He urges listeners to move beyond superficial piety, calling for a desperate passion to be filled with the Holy Spirit and a deep hatred for sin. The message concludes by discussing grace, arguing that it is not unmerited favor but rather something earned through humility, which draws the spirit of grace like water flows to the lowest place.
Transcript 0:00 in acts 20 verse 21 he said Jews and Greeks which means the whole world I solemnly seriously testified to all people in the world repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ that's it like the two wires that make 0:18 electricity to flow you know at a switch and any electric switch it's just two electric wires that are kept very close to each other you put on the switch the two wires touch that's how the light comes on fan comes on everything comes 0:35 on but you can't do it with one wire electricity can never flow with just one wire but as soon as the two wires touch light comes on hands come on so repentance and faith by itself no use you can have repentance by yourself 0:52 you'll never be saved you can have faith by itself you'll never be saved now today unfortunately a lot of people are preaching faith by itself and that's why many people are not saved equally repentance by itself will not say people 1:04 but repentance with faith you know I say this because I feel that many of us believers are missing out on what God wants us to have we're missing out and what God wants us to have because we don't have a desperate passion to be 1:23 filled with the Holy Spirit we're satisfied you tell me honestly my brother sister tell me honestly to my face aren't you satisfied with your defeated Christian life aren't you satisfied with conflict at home for so many years when did you fast and pray 1:43 that that conflict would stop in your home when did you cry out at night and to God and weep and say God deliver me from sins power deliver me from my anger and my defeat and my sexual lust deliver 1:57 me lord no we accepted it we accepted see all the blood of Jesus who cleanse me from all sin shame on you that you treat the blood of Christ like tap water and saying my hands are dirty I can go and wash it 2:13 with soap and water instead of thinking what a price he had to pay to free me from this pollution and evil that the devil has put into my system I want to hate the devil and everything he's put into my system with all my heart I don't 2:32 want any of it I don't want even the smell of sin in my life and if by some chance I fall into it like a cat fault can fall into dirty water I want to get out immediately and cleanse myself immediately I don't want to wait if I've 2:50 hurt somebody I want to go and apologize within a second because I hate sin because the risen Christ has come in now to tell you that's one way you know that the risen Christ is actually living in 3:06 you I think of myself like a a beggar woman a beggar woman sitting on the roadside and we see many of them in our country with a little tin can and I've got maybe two or three cents in it 3:23 that's all I have even the man who's got millions in heavens eyes nothing two or three cents and here is this wealthy handsome prince who comes by my way 3:39 Jesus Christ and says to me I want to marry you I want to give you everything I have if you'll give me everything you have in that tin can Lord let me think 3:58 about it three cents I mean you won all three cents yes now what else we can imagine this foolish beggar woman and the interesting thing the wonderful thing is he's still wait he doesn't say okay if 4:17 you don't want to forget it I'm giving you such a good offer no he waits and he wastes year after year patiently then will we have wisdom when will we say lord teach me the number of my days since a lord it's unbelievable the gospel is unbelievable 4:35 that he's give me everything he has for my two cents and what fools we are to say I want to pray about it I want to think about it you have confidence you don't have faith you can be a very good 4:53 person a very kind person a very helpful person and not pleasing to God because without faith it is impossible to please God if you don't have confidence in it if you have confidence you'll say all that his mind is dying and he will say 5:11 he'll always do his part all that it is will be mine every blessing in the heavenly places will be mine and here's another proof that everybody doesn't get grace that it cannot mean 5:31 unmerited favor James chapter 4 it tells us that grace has to be merited not unmerited that means only certain people will get it who have a certain 5:48 qualification God gives grace to the humble James 4 and verse 6 do you think everybody in the world is humble unmerited favor it is merited merited 6:06 means you've got to have some merit to get it what is that humility the more humility you have the more grace you will get it's not a merit as much as it is a law you know it's like water water always flows to the lowest 6:25 place first so if you are lower down than others water will come to you I mean you see that in Bangalore when the water supply run short the people's whose house is a bit lower down they get water all the time the people whose 6:38 house they're a little higher up on roads and all their sum dries out flying that water always flows down to the lowest place and the spirit of grace always goes down looking for the humblest man around and gives him grace 6:51 and the next humblest will get a little less and the next humblest will get a little less but the humblest man will get all of it and Jesus got tremendous grace because he walked in humility so its merited not everybody gets equal 7:02 amounts of grace if he's unmerited then we get it all without merit what a deception it is to call grace unmerited favor
