0:18 Thank you brothers and sisters for coming to this conference. The thing is it's not just as a routine that we have conferences. 0:35 We have conferences so that it can be better and better every year and uh we don't want to make this as something like some people every year they go to some shrine 0:55 uh some holy place to visit thinking that they will get some extra benefit extra blessings. That's not the reason why we have conferences. Conferences we come together so that we meet with the Lord. We hear God's 1:14 word and allow the word of God to work in our lives and also get to know other brothers and sisters in a better way. And if my coming to the conferences is not helping me and is not 1:33 making my spiritual life grow and my love for the Lord increase year after year then it has become a ritual and we are against that. We don't want anything 1:52 to become ritual. That's why sometimes we cancel a breaking of bread also. We don't want anything to come to a level of you know a a ritual but we want to do everything that 2:10 we do meaningfully so that we mean what we do and that the word of God will have its effect on us. And every time that we hear God's word, we just don't get tickled and have hear some pep talk and 2:28 then go back home. That is not the intention of having conferences. The main reason for having conferences is that we are stirred up to go higher, become 2:46 better and love the Lord better and love one another better and that sin will be under our foot more and more. Not that I'm the 3:04 same like I was last year. Like we sing in that song, I'm not the same like I was last year. If that is true and that is happening, then brothers and sisters, we are on the right track. But if it is always a 3:22 roller coaster ride and beginning of the year I find myself and end of the year I find myself in the same place then I better check what's wrong with me and ask the Lord to help me. If I'm content with 3:41 that I will remain content. I'll remain like that till the end of my life and I'll be of all men most miserable. That should never happen to anybody sitting here. So please pray in your heart that the Lord will open your 4:00 heart and your mind to the truth of God's word that we allow the word of God to break us and melt us and mold us and fill us with the Holy Spirit so that we can become what he wants us to be. Be conformed to the image of Christ. That 4:20 is the ultimate goal of all our teaching. as Paul says and that is the reason why we have conferences. So let's pay close attention to what is being shared in these two days meetings. I also pray 4:38 that the Lord will anoint those who minister God's word and also that he will open our hearts to God's word. You know there is a thing called insulin resistance in diabetics. 4:54 So cells are resistant to insulin that's why they have so sometimes we can become gospel resistant you know gospel may not penetrate through us we are get so used to it we are used to CFC 5:12 doctrines and CFC messages and then oh time will come when we become gospel resistant it will have no effect on us let us fear that let us not be spiritually 5:28 diabetic. Now I hand it over to brother Victor. I thank God for this days like brother pointed out we are 5:48 blessed through conferences in many different areas. [Music] Um I'm greatly thankful Bangalore conferences through the Bangalore 6:13 conferences over the years myself and the churches we've been very much blessed so I am grateful for that even the Tamil Nadi churches. So we are very grateful for that 6:32 conference and the devotion of devotion to Christ we are meditating about the devotion to Christ in in this conference and the and the devot Like we heard this morning, you know, 6:59 about Job, because of that devotion towards God, he was able to endure the trials and tribulation that he had to face. Devotion because of that devotion towards Christ, we can overcome the 7:17 temptation to sin. Because of the devotion, we could sacrifice many things. We can do ministry to the Lord. The first love all of the things should originate 7:41 from the first love. The love that God has shown to us. knowing that how much you've been forgiven. All that we do the source for 7:58 it is that Christ has loved me first. This time I'd like to point to you about Jesus. Hebrews um chapter We read in Hebrews chapter 8:22 12 [Music] verse read in verse one that we verse two in English fixing our eyes on Jesus. We should look into Jesus. we read about what are all the things 8:58 that Jesus endured every encumbrance. Um verse two, verse two, he despised the shame. Verse two, the later part, despising the shame, he endured the cross. Verse three, hostility. Verse three, he endured such 9:16 hostility by sinners. So that you will not grow weary and lose heart. consider him verse four verse four when it comes 9:39 to resisting sin he resisted to the point of shedding blood. So Hebrew author in the chapter 12 Jesus previous chapter Hebrews 11 before the writer of Hebrews points 10:01 to ask about Jesus in chapter 11. He points about many godly heroes. Verse 39 verse 39. All of this having gr gained approval through their faith but did not receive what was 10:22 promised verse 40. In verse 40 they were not made perfect. Verse 40 because God has provided something better for us. Hebrews and the heroes of 10:46 faith perfect example though we see so many examples in Hebrews chapter 11 about the heroes of faith they are not a perfect examples for us. [Music] Yes. Yes. Many of them had many good things about 11:06 them perfect example but they were not perfect examples. That is why he says since you have so great of cloud of witness but look into Jesus fix our eyes on Jesus and look into him. For 11:22 example, Hebrews Hebrews 12 writer writes about despising 11:44 shame, enduring shame and hostility and cross. When it comes to that all the old covenant heroes of faith, they were not good examples and often times they were discouraged, they grumbled, they murmured. Yes, they went through 12:04 that but they were murmuring um and many times they were discouraged. Yes, they lived under the old covenant faith. They have not received the perfection that comes through 12:23 grace and that is why they were not able to live a life. Hebrews I would like to point out a few examples and come back to Hebrews 12. Numbers chapter 11. Numbers chapter 11. Moses leader Old Testament today leader. 12:42 Moses was a you know great leader under the old covenant point of time all of them at one point of time when there was trials and difficulties 13:00 they were discouraged. Numbers chapter 11 verse 11 verse 11 we can read from verse 11. [Music] Verse 11. Why have you been so hard on 13:21 your servant? Why have I not found favor in your sight that you have laid the burden of all these people on [Music] me? Such a great leader. One point of 13:41 time he became very discouraged and this is what came out of him. Verse 12 we read in verse 12 as well. Was it I who conceived all these people? Yes. Verse 14 again verse 14 I alone I'm not able to carry all the 14:02 people because it's too burdensome for me. Verse 15. Verse 15. If you're going to deal thus with me, please kill me at once. Kill me at once that I will not be, you know, going through this 14:20 trouble. Moses, this was Moses. Yes, beloved, we are sitting in a new covenant church. We are learning the spirit of the new covenant. But in our trials and tribulation, are 14:46 we still like Moses? New covenant. hearing such new covenant 15:05 truths and still if somebody sitting in the hall say that this burden is too much for me instead of going through this problem I might die if you have that spirit they haven't come yet to the new covenant and they still cry and weep 15:22 about their problems they grumble complain complain they think that oh it's better to die yes all such ones are disciples of Moses old spirit. They have the spirit of the old [Music] 15:42 covenant. When they go through trials and tribulations, they get discouraged. I like to show a verse. Proverbs 24:10. Proverbs 24:10. Let's keep this verse in our heart always. Proverbs chapter 24. Proverbs 16:02 24. Verse 10. Verse 10. If you are slack in the day of crisis or distress, your strength is limited. Yes, we should not slack in the day of 16:21 distress. Many who lived under the old covenant in their day of distress they they are discouraged. They were discouraged. Yes. Even the life of Job. Up and down. 16:40 Up and down. Up and down. There's always an up and down. All such ones lived under the old covenant. Okay. Hebrews uh Numbers 11. Let's turn back to Numbers 11. frustration. We should never do any work 17:04 with frustration. Especially the work of the Lord with frustration. Doing something with frustration. If that's the case, Lord will say you move aside. Don't do anything with the frustration. It's this house of God is a big house of 17:26 God. There are many things to do on this on on this church and especially church like this where there are many practical things to be done to be done. God's work frustration. If you are doing something 17:46 for the Lord with frustration, the Lord will give a time to repent. Otherwise, if you don't repent, God will say, "Move aside." We read about Moses here. He said, "It's too too much for 18:05 me. Please kill me at once." Did I ask for such uh responsibility? Was it I who conceived? Please kill me. This burden is too much for me. I 18:21 can't bear it. Okayinciple. This is God's principle. If you're frustrated about something, God says, "Okay, move aside." Okay. Verse 16. Verse 18:39 16. 16. The Lord therefore said to Moses, "Gather for me 70 men from the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and their officers, and bring them to the tent of the meeting. Let them take their stand 18:53 there with you." Verse 17. Verse 17. Then I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take of the spirit who is upon you, and I will put him upon them. Moses Moses himself was not aware of 19:10 that one Moses equal to one Moses equal to 70 elders Moses did not know that one Moses is equal to 70 elders elders one Moses could do what 70 elders were 19:28 doing but he was not aware of that he was grumbling he he was discouraged Because of that he got frustrated. Okay. Okay. The Lord said don't do with 19:46 frustration. Okay. I will take the spirit who is upon you or the power who is upon you and distribute it to 70 people. Now are you happy? 20:07 Oh, I will satisfied. Who will say, "Oh, if that's the case, I'm happy." Moses wasn't aware of that. Okay, nobody will disturb you anymore. The 70 men will take care of things. Your sleep is getting 20:29 disturbed. Your program is getting disturbed. Many often call you and disturb you. for many because of that they grumble. When they do things for the 20:46 church they do it with a spirit of frustration. All such things we should do with the joy that comes from inside. This is what happened to Moses. 21:04 We distributed to 70 elders. Proverbs 24:10. How can we remember Proverbs 24:10? If you are slack in the day of distress, your strength is [Music] 21:21 limited. Strength of 70 has become a strength of one man. Is it enough for you? Are you happy now? Okay. Now you do what you need to do. This is how God may have to take this decision. You should never say this or 21:53 have the spirit that I am alone doing this. Nobody's helping me with in the kitchen. Nobody helping me in the PA system. Nobody helping me with the travel. Okay. Not just for Moses, one more man, another man, mighty prophet. First Kings chapter 22:12 19. First Kings chapter 19. This man too was discouraged in the time of trouble. First Kings chapter 19. First Kings chapter 19. Verse four. Verse four. 22:30 for it is enough now oh lord later part take my life for I am not better than my father's previous chapter you know if you look at the previous chapter he was a mighty 22:47 prophet he shut shut up the heavens so that it will not rain for three He brought down fire from the 23:04 heaven. Again he prayed and he brought rain from the skies. Such a mighty prophet. All of the sudden he went into discouragement. Depression. He went into depression. Oh, I want to 23:21 die. Depression. Depression. Depression. Why that depression came into him? Yes. Spiritual pride. Spiritual pride. Spiritual pride. First kings 18. Till one kings 18 things were fine. What was the pride or spiritual 23:45 pride that was in Elijah? Verse 10. We read that in verse 10. Verse 10 please. I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts, for the sons of Israel have forsaken your your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your 24:00 prophets with a sword. I alone I'm left now. I'm alone left. Still there are about 7,000 [Music] people. He wasn't aware that there are about 7,000 people who are still 24:18 faithful. But he's thinking I'm alone left. I'm alone left. Verse 14. We read in verse 14 as well. I've been I've been very jealous for the Lord and I am alone left. As long as there is this spirit, 24:39 they can go into depression. Everybody have despised their covenant. I am alone jealous. I am alone zealous for the Lord. In this house, in this church, I alone zealous person 24:58 in the team. In this team that I am part of, I am zealous for the Lord. I'm better than this person. Yes. When we have that spirit, there is a danger. Okay? Depression. See the depression that he went into in the 25:16 spiritual pride. The moment he saw this spiritual pride in Elijah, Satan used Jezebel, his servant, and sent arrow against him. Depression. He went into depression. I 25:35 want to die. It's better for me to die. Relieve me from this. Okay. God's principle. This is the principle of God. If there is a frustration, God will say, "Step aside." 25:54 This is what he told Elijah. Okay. Verse 16. Verse 16. I appoint Elis Elisa in your place. Yes. 16. Verse 16. Elisa the son of Salpath. You shall anoint as prophet in your place. 26:13 Yes, you move aside. Don't do anything with frustration. Elijah, even this man in his distress, he slacked or he was 26:31 discouraged. Yes, we see like that so many prophets background. We can see Jeremiah lost prophet. Um John the Baptist. We can read about John the Baptist the lost prophet. Matthew chapter 11. Matthew chapter 26:48 11 heroes of faith. All situants were heroes of faith. Wonderful. All of them did ministry for the Lord in a wonderful way. Matthew chap Matthew 11. Matthew 11. Are you the one who going to come? 27:13 He is the one who saw Jesus identified and said he's the one who is going to take the sins of the world baptism and he gave baptism to Jesus and he ended up asking are you the one because he was offended Jesus did 27:34 not come to meet me and relieve me from my prison. Verse six. Verse six, John. And Jesus is saying, "Don't take offense at [Music] me. Don't think that I will release you from prison. I won't 27:53 come. You are appointed for death. I'm also appointed for death. Don't think I'll come. Don't take offense at me." message John the Baptist message. That was the message Jesus gave to John the Baptist men of 28:18 God. The people who lived under the old covenant though they were mighty men of God or prophets at one point of time we see that they are discouraged. They are frustrated depression. They get into depression. They grumble. Okay. Now, 28:36 Hebrews 11. Let's turn to Hebrews 11. All of them gained a good witness through faith. Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews 11. Our verse 40. Verse 40. Hebrews 28:59 11:40. Because God has provided something better for us. So that apart from us they would not be made perfect. And the writer of Hebrews introduced Jesus saying he he's the inaugurator of that faith. We saw a few examples of how they were 29:38 discouraged or you know they went into depression in the time of trials. But Hebrews writer of Hebrews pointing out to Jesus saying look into Jesus how he endured the cross. He despised this shame and he endured the hostility. 29:56 I like to point out two things from that. We read about cross and shame. Shame and cross was on his life throughout hostility. Another thing hostility. Yes. Beloved, let Jesus be 30:19 our meditation. secret. What is the secret that he endured the cross, he endured the shame, 30:36 he endured hostility because he had kept the father before his eyes. Now in the 2, three, four verses 2, three and four is the burden that is on my heart. Jesus, let Jesus be our message. Psalm 30:56 69. Psalm 69. And turn to Psalm 69. This psalm is a prophecy about the life of [Music] Jesus. Jesus. family 69. In Psalm 69, we could read 31:26 about Jesus how he lived in Nazareth with his family members. Verse seven and 8. Verse seven and 8 because for your sake I have borne reproach. Dishonor has covered my face. I become estranged for my brothers and 31:48 an alien to my mother's sons. And that is why Jesus said to a man, his household is his enemy. We read in verse four as well. People hated Jesus without a 32:12 cause. at Nazareth and they told him that he stole something. What I did not steal, I then have to restore. We don't know how this happened at 32:32 Nazareth. He was forced forced to restore. He was forced to restore what he did not steal. They hated him without a cause. Reproach, shame was upon his 32:56 face. His brothers did not believe in him. Definitely Mary would have told his brothers how Jesus was born. But his brothers did not believe in 33:24 Jesus till Jesus died and rose again from death. That was the case. That is how father had kept it. [Music] mother's son through mother's son 33:42 through the Mary's sons father had kept it that way that they would crush Jesus not one day or two days years for years that was a struggle once Jesus came to Peter and 34:05 asked if my brother sins against me how How many times should I forgive him? What is Jesus response? Peter Jesus responded saying Peter not seven times but seven 70 times. Where did he learn that 34:24 from? We should never forget that it came from his life. We read that he um practiced then began to teach. That was his life in Nazareth. In another place we read, if your brother comes to you in a 34:51 day for seven times and says he repents, forgive him. Where did he learn that from? Again, he learned it in the life of Nazareth. forgiving seven 70 times or forgiving a person in a day 35:10 seven times a man's enemy will be the members of his household where did he learn that was his life Nazareth for 30 yearsual Jesus was a spiritual man 35:32 throughout natural men. All his households were natural men. Natural man, for a natural man, the things of the spiritual man will look like, you know, foolish things. Yes, 35:49 Jesus. Jesus looked like a fool to them. In all such situations when they called him a mad man, he had to endure through that. Every day he gave himself to the 36:13 cross. Lord, I should forgive them. He would have got up in the morning. Every day Jesus faced this. I don't know at which point who will 36:32 spat on me, who will despise me. Lord, give me grace. Lord, I should love them. I should forgive them. I should forgive them. I should forgive them. I should forgive them. I'd like to show this verse to 36:50 you. Paul in the phrase Paul mentions this beautiful phrase presence of Christ he shows about the presence of Christ. 2 Corinthians chapter 2 Corinthians chapter 2. May God give light to us in this 37:09 matter. 2 Corinthians chapter 2 Corinthians 2:10 Paul says I have forgiven anything I did it for your sakes in the presence of 37:27 Christ the presence of Christ forgiving in the presence of Christ presence of Christ what is that presence of Christrist According to what Paul writes here, what 37:46 is that presence of Christ? The presence of Christ is always forgiving. Always forgiving. That is the presence of Christ. 38:04 Paul learned that I forgive him in the presence of Christ. Who can stay in the presence of Christ? All those who continually 38:23 forgive are the ones who can be in the presence of Christ. relatives, kinsmen, household at Nazareth. Jesus continued to forgive his relatives, those who despised him, those 38:41 who hated him, those who treated him like an alien. At one day I know at given day there was there there could have been situation where Jesus had to forgive for seven 38:59 times and another day 770 times and that is why Paul says in the presence of Christ that's what we read in Psalm 69. 39:18 That's how he endured the shame. How much Jesus would have cried unto the father give me power. Give me strength that I'll be able to forgive my brothers today. Give me strength to love 39:45 them. For Jesus continued to receive the strength and grace from the father. Yes. This was his life at Nazareth. Till he was dead and rose 40:04 again. His brothers were like that. God had kept it that way that they could crush Jesus. Okay. Cross. What was his cross? Even at Nazareth, there was cross even among his 40:23 disciples Jesus. I like to point out both the relationship between Jesus and Judas when he selected he was he was all right. We do not know when he became a 40:43 thief. We don't know whether in the three and a half years of time whether it was after a year or 6 months or two years that he became a thief. John chapter 6 John chapter 6 John chapter 6 John chapter 6 41:01 verse 70 verse 70. Did I myself not choose you the 12? So there's nothing wrong about choosing them. Whole night. He prayed the whole night and chose them. He did not choose a thief or a man 41:24 possessed with devil. Beginning in the beginning, at the start, he was all right. Not as the day days went by, because he had the money at hand, he became a thief. Verse 17. Verse 17. And yet one of you is the 41:50 devil. We don't know whether it was after a year or after one and a half years. The Bible says he was a devil. John 12 verse 6 verse 6. verse six that because he was a 42:12 thief but because he was a thief, he was a thief, he was a devil. What shall we do now? Even in today's situation, if the 42:36 treasurer in the church is not faithful even in one rupee, we will send him out. Yes, that's that's what we should do. Disciplinary action. We should take such a disciplinary action. Now, he was a devil. He was a 42:52 thief. One more thing, another thing. Jesus, Lord, Lord, Lord. All the other disciples would call Jesus as Lord. 43:11 Teacher at the beginning he he started calling him Lord, but over the years he started calling him a teacher. See, he's a devil, thief. teacher not as Lord but he saw Jesus as 43:27 a teacher. One more thing another thing Jesus he has come to a point where he passed comment about Jesus or commenting about Jesus. Oh is this expense needed? It's just a waste. Why is Jesus allowing this to 43:46 happen? Yeah, she was only pouring it on Jesus' feet. Something that cost 300 silver coins. But why is Jesus allowing that to 44:04 happen? They were grumbling about it. They were offended. They passed comment about it. Who is the head for that? Judas. He has come to a place where he's 44:22 commenting about Jesus breadaking time. has come to a place where during the Passover time he lifted his heel reverence or 44:40 fear there's no reverence reverence there is no love there is no fear all of that has gone long back just like how we would be tempted in a such a situation Jesus would have been tempted in the same way 44:58 Father, shall I send him out? He's a devil. He's a thief. He doesn't believe in me. He's passing comments. He's not faithful. He's not faithful. Shall I send him out? Father, what did the father say? No. 45:16 Father said, "No, keep him." John 6. read that in John 6. Don't send him out verse 39. This is the will of him who sent me 45:42 that all that of all that he has given me I lose nothing but raise it up on the last day. Last encounter till you face him the last day 46:00 and you encounter him till the last moment. You endure in love. You love him. You wash his feet on his head. Keep the love, the 46:19 fire of love. Yes. Painful. What? How painful would it have been for Jesus to go through that dying? He endured. He endured in 46:34 love. He washed his feet. in the last encounter at Gethsemane. Jesus was aware that he's going to betray him shortly. Jesus knew that Judas is going 46:54 to come. Father encounter. Father, this is my last encounter with him. I'm going to face him. I should not call him an ungrateful person. You were with me for three and a half 47:12 years. Now he betrayed me. I should not call him an ungrateful. I should not I He is not my Judas is not my enemy. Satan is my enemy. Satan is my enemy. Judas is not my 47:31 enemy. I should call him my friend unended. Lord help me. He prayed and cried unto the Lord to the point that you know he started shedding blood. I should not sin and resisting against sin I will 47:55 shed blood. Yes. Yes. It's true that he shed blood on the cross. Before that he shed blood on Gethsemane. The enemy that is coming, I should not call him as enemy. I should call him as a 48:11 friend. Lord, give me grace. Praise the Lord. That is how he cried unto the father. That is how he resisted against sin. What is that sin? There are many things there. This enemy, I should love him 48:33 till the end. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Jesus. This is how whether it is shame or cross our forerunner. He's our forerunner today. Hebrews. Now let's come back to Hebrews 48:50 12. Hebrews 12. Hebrews 12. Moses in the lesson this lesson Moses couldn't do Moses could not go 49:08 through the Baptist and John the Baptist is not aware of only Jesus inator knew how to do he was the inaugurator of this Hebrews chapter 12 now let's turn to Hebrews We read about three three words there. 49:32 Cross, shame, hostility. Secret. What is the secret for that? We read that in verse two. Who for the joy set before him. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 49:50 Instead secret, we should learn the secret. Because of that, he could endure all that we read. Joy set before him. The joy is not the cross or shame 50:12 or hostility. That is not the joy. Can someone say shame is joy to me? No, it's not joyful. Joy, what is the joy? He had kept a joy before him. Where is the 50:28 joy? Psalm 16 verse 11. Psalm 16:1. We can read the joy here. This is the burden. And I want to 50:48 uh convey something from my spirit not for the brain. If we learn this properly, we can follow the footsteps of Jesus and go after him. Um Psalm 16 Psalm 16 Jesus 51:07 devotion to his father. This is the devotion that Jesus had towards his father. Uh Psalm 16 11 Psalm 16:11 David though David wrote it was not true in his life. Verse 11 51:26 verse 11 you will make known to me the path of life but he couldn't walk through the path of life. Old covenant man. the old covenant man. He had some glimpse about the path 51:48 of life. He came to know about the path of life but he could not go through it. When we go through the path of life in your presence is full of fullness of joys, joy and pleasures 52:07 forever. Yes. Some joy and the abundant joy and the fullness of joy and the pleasure pres. Where is this fullness of joy and pleasures forever? In his presence. Now I need to go into this presence into 52:25 his presence. Let us understand this. It's enough. If we understand this, fullness of joy and pleasures forever is at his presence. His 52:48 presence. Let us imagine like this. Um, Hebrews chapter 10, Hebrews chapter 10, living path of life, new living way. Here we read about path of life. In Hebrews 10, we read about new and living 53:05 way. Hebrews chapter 10. Hebrews chapter 10 verse 19. Verse 19. By a new and living way which he had inaugated us through the veil that is 53:24 his flesh. I request you to imagine with me. See this curtain here whale here. 53:48 outer court. What we see outside is the outer court. Inner court. This is inner court. Holy place. That's the most holy place. And there is a veil to go into 54:05 the most holy place. If we need to go into the most holy place, the veil will have to be torn. Verse 20, by a new and living way, 54:28 which he has inaugurated for us through the veil which is his flesh. Father pres father's presence is there abundant joy pleasure. At his presence, there's abundance of joy and pleasures forever. For if for me to go there, what 54:50 is blocking me? This veil. Now this veil have to be torn. What is that veil? Is this flesh? How is it happening? The shame, the 55:17 cross and hostility that is helping us, you know, so that the flesh will be torn. Then only we get access into father's presence. We can see father there. We can have fellowship with the father. 55:36 There we can be at rest. We don't need to be worried about anything. Father will take care of everything. At father's presence, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forever. The only access into father's 55:58 presence is that the veil have to be torn. And that is what Jesus had kept before him. the joy that was set before him. Okay. All of this together is helping me 56:18 go into the father's presence and he entered father's presence. Then what happened to the trials and situations? Now he could love others because he has gone into the presence of the 56:37 father because he's in fellowship with the father. He could love the brothers at Nazareth. That he could forgive his brothers for seven times in a day. That he could call Judas a friend 56:58 and not treat him as an enemy. He could wash the feet of Judas. He could love Judas. He could give his life for Judas. Why? Because he was in the presence of the father, fellowshipping with the father. Because we are with the 57:16 father. The father gives us strength. With him I can do all that. I can forgive like him. Even to an ungrateful traitor. I can do good. I can continue to forgive in his 57:36 presence. And Jesus has learned this secret. Father, without you, I cannot do anything. So I want to come into your presence through the veil or through the flesh. I want to come into your 57:54 presence. And who helps us to for the flesh to be taught hostility? Whether it's hostility or shame or cross all of them together helps the flesh to be torn. That's not the 58:12 end. We just go through that to the presence of the father. The presence of father was primary thing in the life of Jesus. But in the old covenant nobody could do that. Moses could set apart the Red 58:35 Sea. But he was not able to tear apart his flesh or anger. It was not possible for him. David, David, he could tear up the lion's mouth. But the lust on his flesh, he was not able to tear it up people. All such 58:55 ones are under the old covenant. They could tear apart the Red Sea or the line mouth mouth of the lion. But in the new covenant, God has 59:13 inaugurated a way for us that we could also go through the same way. He has inaugurated a way by tearing apart his flesh. Why do we need the anointing of the Holy Spirit? 59:32 Yes. For me to go into the presence of the father. Nobody in the old covenant could tear up the flesh. But in the new covenant, it is possible for us. It is possible for those who have 59:48 received the Holy Spirit inside. So father Jesus could be in father's presence there he worshiped the father there he had fellowship with the father he was enduring in the things 1:00:07 after father and he has ordained a way for us as well chapter 12 Hebrews 12 we read there Now he's concluding it like this. Verse three, consider 1:00:29 him then we don't need to be discouraged or lose heart or grow weary. So yes beloved let us fix our eyes to Jesus and endure or run the race with the endurance that is set before us. Joy. Father was his 1:00:53 joy. Devotion. Father was his devotion. Father was his love. Because he was with the father. He could do everything. So beloved, God has kept this way for 1:01:11 us. Way of path of life, the new and living way, the new and living way. A life where we go through the veil of flesh. May God help each one of us. Amen. Amen. It's a challenge that we 1:01:31 saw how it was in the old covenant and how it is in the new covenant. We saw all the old covenant saints uh in chapter 11 of Hebrews starting with Abel. His blood cried out for 1:01:48 vengeance and ending with John the Baptist even though he's mentioned in the New Testament. He comes under the old covenant because the new covenant was not inaugurated because he died before Jesus died. So you read after 1:02:07 that some saints for instance the apostle Paul he was so wroth against Christians he went about capturing them and putting them in jail persecuting 1:02:26 them. But the Lord met with him. And when the Lord met with him, he broke him. And when he broke him, he filled him. And when he was filled with the Holy 1:02:44 Spirit, he was a new covenant saint unlike the old covenant saints. And uh he did things for God which 1:03:02 perhaps many of the old covenant heroes that we read about may not have been able to do because the things that he went through he went through them even though 1:03:20 he says sometimes we despaed of our life we thought we are finished but he didn't murmur he didn't complain and you read that about you read about it in 1 1:03:36 Corinthians chap 11 verse 23 onwards 1 Corinthians chapter 11 verse 23 onwards I'll read it to you sorry to second 1:04:00 Corinthians here he is you know proving his apostilhip some especially these carnal carninal Corinthians they despised the apostle Paul because his bodily presence was not so 1:04:19 impressive and his speech also was not so impressive but his writings were very weighty as they said. But to prove his apostilhip he he says I am speaking like 1:04:34 an insane man like a foolish man I am telling you that he's just proving his apostilhip he's telling are they Hebrews so I am so am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Verse 22. Are they descendants of Abraham? So 1:04:53 am I. Are they servants of Christ? I speak as if insane. I more so in far more labors, far more imprisonments, beaten times without number, often in danger. Apart from being 1:05:10 beaten without number, he says five times I received from the Jews 39 lashes. That is about 195 lashes. Not just uh you know caning or spanking lashes or scourges something like what Jesus 1:05:29 received 195 times. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned and probably that is the time when he they considered him dead and 1:05:47 left him for dead and went away and the Lord raised him up and three times I was shipwrecked. A night and a day I have spent in the deep. I have been on frequent journeys in dangers from rivers, dangers from 1:06:06 robbers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers from in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among false brethren, have been in labor and hardship through many sleepless nights, 1:06:24 in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. And apart from such external things there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches 1:06:44 etc. He says and in all of these we don't hear a word of complaint from this man. I don't think any of old covenant saints went 1:07:02 through all that Paul went through. You know why? Because in the old covenant there was there was no grace upon people, no anointing. The Holy Spirit was not 1:07:22 dwelling in them. The Lord said, "The spirit that is upon you, I will take out and put upon the 70 elders." He said, "Upon them, not inside of them." So the Holy Spirit came upon 1:07:39 them like Samson and other saints and even on Moses. The Holy Spirit was there on Moses. The spirit that is upon you, I will take him and put him on 70 other elders. He said, so one Moses is is equal 1:07:59 to 70 elders. He didn't know that. Probably if he knew that, probably Moses wouldn't have said, Lord, please leave me. Give me more grace. He would have said, but he didn't know that. And the Lord probably that was too late. The 1:08:16 Lord gave the same spirit distributed to 70 elders. And this man, the Apostle Paul, was indwelt by the Holy Spirit, baptized in the Holy Spirit, anointed by the Holy 1:08:34 Spirit, filled with the Holy Spirit continually in every circumstance. And because of that he says in 1 Corinthians 15:10 he says so many things there then he admits but I 1:08:53 am what I am today or what I accomplished is because of the grace of God. I am what I am. And his grace toward me did not prove in vain. But I labored even more than all of them. At 1:09:11 not I see there is the humility of the man. At not I I didn't do that but the grace of God within me that means the Lord enabled me to do that but for the grace of God I wouldn't have done any of these 1:09:30 things. And you know in Romans 8:37 and 38 and 39, neither death nor life, nor principalities, powers, nor height, nor depth, nor angels, nor 1:09:48 demons, nothing of these sorts will ever be able to separate me or us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. And he says in verse 37, in all these things whatever he mentioned 1:10:06 in Corinthians and in Rome uh in the book of Romans in all these things he says we overwhelmingly conquer means we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us. It's not just being a being one of the 1:10:25 conquerors but more than all conquerors. More than conquerors all put together more than that. Why? Not because somebody great or I'm heman or a macho. No, it's because the one who 1:10:44 lives in me is greater than the one who lives in this world. That he knew. And he said because of that by the grace of God I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. And we have no excuse brothers and sisters. We 1:11:03 acknowledge before God that we are made out of dust. We are clay pots. We realize how weak we are. But we don't give up and we don't say, "Lord, I've had enough." like Elijah and 1:11:22 Moses, we plead for greater grace, plead for mercy, plead for strength when you are weak. The Lord said, "My grace or my strength is sufficient for 1:11:40 you." So shall we ask the Lord? We may be going through so many things but it's natural because we live in the flesh. As long as we live in the flesh, we are tempted but we don't have to 1:11:58 despair and give up and throw in the towel. We can come to the Lord and ask him. And Jesus said everyone who asks shall receive. So shall we be one among them who ask? Shall 1:12:17 we? Our father, we thank you and praise you that you're on the throne and you're absolute and you are supreme. There's none like you. Lord Jesus, we thank you that you 1:12:37 are at the right hand of the father interceding for us. And we thank you that even the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. Knowing our weakness, Lord Jesus, we come to you in helplessness. We cast ourselves upon you, 1:12:55 Lord. And we pray that you will fill us with your Holy Spirit. Wash us with your precious blood. Cleanse us, fill us with your Holy Spirit every day. Give us grace like you give grace to the Apostle Paul that each day it may become better 1:13:15 and better with us by your grace that at the end we can say with the apostle Paul it's not I but it's the grace of God that did all these things. Lord, we 1:13:34 thank you that you're able to do that beyond our asking or thinking. We bless you and we worship you in Jesus name. Amen.
