0:03 Since this is the Independence Day weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to speak on Jesus words in John 8:32 where he said, "You will know the truth 0:21 and the truth will set you free." And I believe that most believers do not know the full extent of freedom that Jesus bought for us on Calvary. And 0:40 we need to know the truth. A little under two weeks ago on the 19th of June was our wedding anniversary. But I discovered that that day is celebrated in the United States. 0:58 Not because it's my wedding anniversary, but it's known as Junth because 141 years ago, something happened in Texas, which if you're not aware of, I could enlighten you on a little bit of American history. 1:17 Being an Indian, you can find anything on Google nowadays wherever you are in the world. Well, one of the greatest events that happened in the last century was the proclamation emancipation proclamation 1:37 that President Abraham Lincoln was one responsible for. And on the 1st of January 1863, that took effect. But for two and a half years thereafter, 1:55 many of the slaves, particularly in some states like Texas, never knew about it. They didn't have television. They didn't have newspapers. They didn't have radios. There was no way to know that they were free. And so they remained slaves for two and 2:10 a half years. until a general went down from Washington sent by the president. And on the 19th of June, 1865, two and a half years after the proclamation of freedom, he went down 2:30 and he proclaimed freedom. And when the slaves knew the truth, they were free. But the proclamation of emancipation had been made two and a half years earlier. And the slave masters did not want the slaves to know obviously that there had 2:48 been such a proclamation. It's exactly the same with the devil. 2,000 years ago, an even greater proclamation of emancipation was made nearly 2,000 years ago on Calvar's cross when Jesus said, "It is finished." 3:05 There was no Satan's reign over man was finished. All the possibility that Satan had to accuse man was finished. Man could be free. But do you think that slave master Satan wants his slaves to know that? Certainly 3:24 not. That's where June 19th is important to recognize the areas where Jesus has proclaimed liberty for us. 3:41 You see, truth is very wide. If you studied science, you learned that white light is composed of seven colors. It's called a spectrum. It's got a number of colors in it like violet and indigo and blue and green and 4:01 yellow and orange and red. When you put them all together, you get light, white light. Truth is something like that. There's a white spectrum of truth. And if I know only one part of it, it's like having just one part of the white light. 4:19 I saw a picture once of an experiment that was done where plants were kept exposed to different parts of this spectrum of white light. And uh the same plant, 4:39 one was exposed just to the green section, another just to the blue section, and another to total white light. And there was quite a difference in the amount these plants grew. The one that was exposed to the white light grew fully. But the one that was 4:57 exposed to just the green part of this spectrum of white light grew very little. And likewise with the other plant that was exposed just to the blue part of the spectrum of light grew very little. It wasn't totally dead. It grew a little 5:13 but much less than the plant that was exposed to the entire spectrum of white light. I thought of that as a picture of different believers. How much we grow depends on how much we have become free. >> And how much we become free depends on 5:32 how much we have understood the truth. >> It's the truth that will set us free. Right from the beginning of time, from the time the devil got into the Garden of Eden, his plan is to be to keep people in bondage. The Bible says, "The 5:50 God of this world has blinded the minds of all the unbelievers so that they don't see the light." This is 2 Corinthians 4, of the glory of the gospel which is in the face of Jesus Christ. that's described as a light, the 6:08 gospel. And if you see just one part of it, you get that much of freedom, but there's a lot more in it. >> And that's why we need to know the scriptures. And that's why the devil doesn't encourage believers to study the 6:23 scriptures too much because he doesn't want them to be free. The truth is in God's word >> and if you don't study God's word, you won't know the truth. And then you may experience a certain amount of freedom, but it won't be all 6:40 the freedom that Christ purchased for you on the cross. >> So today and tomorrow, I wanted to speak on some aspects of that freedom that Christ purchased on the cross for us. First of all, freedom from guilt. Way back in the Old Testament, there are 6:59 two great stories of the journeys of Israel out of bondage. One was out of Egypt into the land of Canaan and the other was out of Babylon back to Jerusalem. In both cases, they had gone, they were captives, they were slaves, and the Lord 7:19 delivered them. And huge sections of the Old Testament deal with these two deliverances. And in between there are many other stories of other nations that captured the Israelites and they were in bondage and they would cry out to God and the 7:36 Lord would deliver them. In fact, if you read from Exodus all the way to Malachi, it's a continuous story of God's people in bondage and then being delivered. Starting with the deliverance from Egypt, slavery and freedom, slavery and 7:54 freedom all the way up to Malachi. And these things are written for our instruction. It's the same with Christians in the New Testament. The bondage is not physical and so sometimes we are not aware of it. Physical bondage, physical slavery is 8:14 easily recognizable. But the bondage is inward and it's much worse. I want to say to you that God wants every single person here sitting here to be totally free 100%. 8:33 And it's my goal tonight by the help of the Holy Spirit to deliver every person sitting here first of all from the bondage of guilt and the bondage of feeling that you're 8:50 under the curse of God. This is this is foundational. We would think, well, I've accepted Christ long ago. I believe in the power of the blood. Yet I have found through 40 years of ministry that many many believers have not fully understood 9:08 the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. And I want to tell you something about it. In the last book of the Bible, which by the way is the book which most believers do not read enough, the book of Revelation. 9:27 And you know why? That's because the devil prevents you from reading it, saying, "Oh, that's so difficult to understand because that's the book that speaks of the final defeat of Satan." Do you think he wants you to you to read that? 9:43 >> Oh, no. That's why he's prevented you from reading it. Let me show you a wonderful verse from that book in Revelation 12 and verse 9 to 11. It says here, "The devil is called Satan." Revelation 12:9, "One who 10:03 deceives the whole world." And he's called a serpent and a dragon. And he's called here in verse 10, the last part, one who accuses God's people, not the unbelievers. He's called the 10:21 accuser of the brothers. That's a title given to Satan, accuser of believers. When you accuse another believer, 10:39 who are you holding hands with? Don't ever forget that. No, he accuses believers to God. So, you can be absolutely sure that he doesn't tell any lies there. He can't accuse you of murder if you didn't murder anyone. 10:57 He would accuse you before God of things you've done. And if he accuses you to Almighty God, you can be pretty sure that he'll accuse you to yourself and remind you not of things you never did because that wouldn't trouble you. 11:16 He'd accuse you of things you've done >> and remind you of things you did. And it says he accuses them before God day and night. And you know, you can't overcome that by saying get 11:34 away Satan. No. It says here they overcame him. Verse 11, by the blood of the lamb, the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is only one way to get rid of all that sense of guilt 11:52 and the accusations of Satan. It's by understanding what the blood of Jesus Christ did on the cross for you. in the Old Testament. The reason they couldn't get rid of this 12:09 remembrance of sins every year, you know, in the book of Hebrews chapter 9, it says there's a remembrance of sins every year in the Old Testament because the Lord told them to bring a bull and or a lamb and the blood of bulls and 12:29 goats couldn't take away sin. it could only cover it. Like David said in Psalm 32, "Blessed is the man whose sin is covered." Psalm 32. 12:47 Now, in the New Testament, just for your information, it never speaks about our sin being covered. It speaks about our sin being cleansed. And there's a lot of difference between the two. And I want you to ex to explain 13:06 that to you so that you understand what the blood of Jesus Christ has done. See, if all my sins were piled up here and I take a sheet and cover it, that's covered. But you could peek under the seat and see them all. That's how it was 13:20 in the Old Testament. And if that's all that Jesus did with his blood, I wouldn't be sure whether somebody would lift it up and see what's underneath or maybe God himself. But when it says it's cleansed, it's gone forever. You can lift it. There's 13:37 nothing there. It's gone. >> That's the difference between old covenant and new covenant. In the old covenant, the blood of bulls and goats covered sin. In the new covenant, the blood of Jesus cleanses sin. >> It's like if your sins were written on a 13:54 blackboard and you put a sheet over it, it's covered. But if you take a wet sponge and wipe it out, nobody can bring it back. It's gone. >> It's cleansed. And it's so important to understand that that if you walk in the light as God is 14:08 in the light, the Bible says the blood of Jesus Christ, which is shed on the cross, cleanses us, not covers us. Um, in the Old Testament, the children of Israel were under the blood in the uh land of Egypt. That's how they were 14:28 redeemed. You put the blood on the door and you stood underneath it. But in the New Testament, I'm not under the blood. I'm cleansed. The blood's not over me. It's cleansed my heart. It's inside. It's so important. You know, we sing 14:40 songs which talk about us being under the blood and covered by the blood. But I just want to tell you you you'll never find those expressions in the new new in the New Testament. Those are all Old Testament expressions. And you may think 14:52 it's it doesn't really matter. But if something's never mentioned in the New Testament, there must be a reason. And I tell you something, God, the devil does not want you to understand your New Testament privileges. >> He wants you to think you're covered 15:07 when you're cleansed. He wants you to think that there's some way in which God will still remember those sins. the promise in the new covenant in Hebrews chapter 8:12. I want you to read that to you. This is the new covenant 15:21 that the Lord prom has promised to uh fulfill with us. Hebrews 8:12, I will not remember their sins anymore because it's cleansed. Whereas in the Old Testament, there was a remembrance of sins because until Christ died on the 15:40 cross, there was no way that sins could be cleansed. So that's the first thing you need to know about the blood of Jesus Christ. It cleanses completely. There's no remembrance anymore. But it's more than that. It says in Romans in 15:59 chapter 5 and verse 9, and this is another great truth. I mean I mentioned this because when I was born again nobody explained all this to me clearly. Everybody assumes that oh well I suppose everybody knows but I I didn't know and 16:13 I wish somebody had told me this clearly. I would have been free from a lot of heaviness in my life till I discovered it myself. Romans 5:9 says we're justified by the blood of Christ. Now that is one step higher than cleansing. You see, cleansing means the 16:33 sins are all wiped out. But that itself is great that there's no memory of sin. It's so important to understand this because otherwise I will not be free from Satan's accusations. And I was not free and that's how I know. 16:49 But being justified by his blood means God looks at you and me when we have come to Christ and asked him to cleanse us as if we had never sinned in our whole life. >> Now just look at your own life. Tell me 17:09 honestly, I'm talking to many of you who claim to be believers, born again. I want to ask you, when you look back at your life today, do you really look at a life over which you've never sinned once? >> See, that's the tragedy. We think God 17:28 looks at us and remembers those things we did 40 years ago or yesterday or last week. It's so difficult for us to believe that the salvation that Christ offers is so wonderful and so perfect and so total. We think God is a miser like human 17:46 beings are that he gives us a little teaspoon of grace or something like that. He's not like that. He showers us with grace >> and he looks at us. This is the power of Christ's blood. And I'll tell you this, if I say that God looks at me as if I've 18:03 never sinned in 66 years of my life, that's not pride. That's faith. Amen. >> So don't confuse unbelief with humility. When God says something and you say, "Well, I don't deserve that." And all that, that's unbelief. That's not 18:21 humility. There's no virtue in saying, "Well, it can't be when God says it is." The blood of Jesus Christ justifies us. And it's so wonderful to you see unless we know this, we will not have the freedom to come straight into God's 18:38 presence and talk to him without any consciousness of sin. So many believers are so timid, afraid to come to God because they think, "Oh, well, God remembers all those terrible things I did." And they're afraid to face Satan because they say, "Oh, how 18:56 can I have authority over Satan after all the terrible things I did?" That consciousness of guilt is there that plagues them, plagues them continuously even though they have confessed it. The Bible says if we confess our sins, 19:14 he is faithful and just 1 John 1:9 to forgive us all our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. >> Hallelujah. >> He is faithful to cleanse us. What is our part? Our part is only to 19:33 acknowledge and confess our sin. And that is so difficult. You see that even with children. How difficult it is for some child to say, "Yeah, that was my fault." You see how difficult it is between husband and wife sometime to say, "That 19:50 was my fault." It's so difficult. It's so difficult to say, "I'm sorry, dear. That was my fault." some of the most difficult words to come out of our mouth. It's the same when we come to God. You remember when I mean we've all inherited 20:08 this from Adam, our father. Because when God asked him, "Have you sinned?" And the plain answer was yes. He didn't say that. He said, "Lord, first of all, it was his wife and second you gave her to me. Don't 20:26 forget that. And third, it's true a postcript. I did open my mouth and eat it. You see how you go right round about and say so many other things and finally acknowledge briefly, yeah, I also did something. And that's why he was thrown out of 20:45 paradise. God always throws out of his presence those who try to blame other people. And do you blame other people? Then you're not confessing your sin. That's what we have inherited from Adam. And I believe that's one of the things 20:58 we got to get rid of. I remember once meditating on the two thieves that hung on the cross. See, the fact that Jesus saved one thief in the last moment before he died teaches us that a man can 21:18 be saved even in the last moment. Even if he's not able to make restitution for all the wrong that he did, you know, some people get plagued by the fact, oh, I haven't made restitution for this and that and the other thing. What restitution did the 21:33 thief on the cross make? I mean, think of he didn't even apologize to the relatives of the people he murdered. He didn't re return any of the stuff he had stolen, but he went to paradise. But it also is a warning because only 21:48 one of the two thieves got saved. Now when you think about the reason why these one got saved and the other didn't get saved. Now most Christians don't know the reason. I myself didn't know. I thought it was because he said Lord 22:03 remember me when you come into your kingdom. No, there was something he said before that. You see in those days it's only the worst criminals that were crucified. uh people who are lower degrees of criminals were just sent into just life 22:23 imprisonment or something like that. It's just like today. I mean it's only the worst of the worst that are given the death penalty. It was like that in the Jewish time in the Roman times. And these two people were hanging on the 22:35 cross next to each other. You can read all this in the Gospels. And one man said to Jesus, "Bring me down from here." In other words, he was saying, "Well, I'm not so bad that I deserve crucifixion. Maybe a couple of years in 22:52 jail, but not so bad that I deserve crucifixion. Get me down from this cross. I don't deserve this." The other thief, he said to this thief, no. He said, "We deserve this." 23:10 See, that's what brought him salvation when he said, "I am such a terrible criminal that I deserve to be killed, to be crucified." He didn't blame his parents for bringing 23:27 him up wrongly. He didn't blame the bad company he fell into. He didn't blame his wife for getting on his nerves. or he didn't blame the judge for having a prejudice against him or the police who cooked up a case against him. No, he 23:46 said, "I deserve this." And Lord, when you come in your kingdom, maybe 2,000 years from now, please remember me. And the Lord said, "Not 2,000 years from now. Today, you'll be with me in paradise." 24:04 See the difference between him and Adam? Adam got kicked out of paradise because he blamed somebody else. The thief went into paradise because he took the blame himself. He didn't blame his wife or mother or anybody. And you know, I believe that 24:23 a lot of believers haven't got out of this habit of blaming other people and that's why they remain with guilt. They deserve to remain with guilt. They deserve to be kicked out of paradise because paradise is prepared for those 24:35 who will not blame other people but who will take the blame themselves. Those who accuse the brothers and accuse their wives and accuse others need to go where the accuser of the brethren is. You know where he is? Satan. 24:52 But those who stopped accusing others and like the thief on the cross say Lord I don't blame anybody. It's me. It's me Lord 100% me. The Lord says come with me to paradise. This is salvation. See none of us 25:12 deserve heaven. None of us deserve paradise. But the Lord has decided that those who take the blame, they will be set free. So if you want to be set free, first of all, acknowledge your sin and take that blame. I remember hearing a 25:27 story of one of these, it's an olden time story of the days when there used to be kings in different countries and some of these kings had the habit of doing something good on their birthdays to celebrate. And this king decided to 25:44 go to the prison and release all the prisoners as a gesture of goodwill on his birthday. So he went to the prison and he said, "Let me just talk to these prisoners and see what they did." So he went to the first cell and asked him, "What did you do wrong?" 25:59 He said, "Oh well, I didn't do anything wrong. I don't know why they put me here. I mean, they just caught me and put me here." Oh, he said. I went to the second one and he had a similar story. something like I looked like some other 26:11 person and they caught me. I wasn't the criminal. And the third person said the judge had a prejudice against me and all types of stories. Everyone said, "Well, I don't deserve to be here. I didn't do anything wrong, but they locked me up." 26:25 Then he went to the last cell. So, why are you here? He said, "I'm a criminal. I deserve this. I did a lot of wrong things and they've locked me up." So the king said to the jailkeeper, "There seem to be all good people here except this 26:42 one man. He's really bad. If we leave him here, he'll spoil all the others. Let's release him and send him out." [Applause] He had a sense of humor. The king, he went there to find out who who was 27:03 willing to acknowledge that. I don't I'm a criminal. It's one of the most difficult things for man to acknowledge. I have sinned. >> Yes, >> I've done wrong. It's difficult even for born again believers sometimes to acknowledge that. It's a wonderful thing 27:23 for us to develop this habit of acknowledging our fault and saying, "Lord, I was wrong." Even if somebody else shared the blame, forget about that. That's his business. If you've got 10% of the blame, acknowledge 27:42 it. >> Now, I want to tell you something. In my counseling of married couples and believers who have had tension with each other, I've discovered I've never in my life come across a case where 100% of the 28:01 blame was on one side. Never. It just doesn't exist such cases. The only case where 100% of the blame was on one side is in the problem God had with man. there certainly the blame was 100% on our side and there was God 28:19 was not to blame at all but in every other case where there's a problem or broken fellowship some percentage of the blame is with one side why not acknowledge that part if the other person is 90% wrong you were still to blame 10% 28:38 the one who acknowledges that and decides never to fellowship with Satan and accuse others. Did you hear that? Never to fellowship with Satan and accuse others like Adam pointed 28:58 his finger to his at his wife. Years ago, I read a little poem of how the hands of men are frequently used to point and blame each other for their sin. 29:14 and how Jesus came and hung on the cross and his hands were nailed. He couldn't blame anybody. That's what it means to be crucified with Christ where I my my fingers are not pointed at 29:31 anybody else. Salvation comes quickly. Freedom comes quickly to the one who is willing to take the blame 100%. Now if you don't believe me, try that from today. Be quick to acknowledge blame 29:51 like in the past. Maybe some of us were quick to blame somebody else. And you'll find freedom. You'll find yourself walking in paradise even while on earth with Jesus. I took a long time to discover this, but 30:09 I'm thankful that I finally did and it's made my life very, very happy. The devil cannot accuse me anymore because I don't hold hands with him accusing anybody else. >> The reason why the devil can harass so many people is because there's so much 30:27 of that spirit of accusing others in their own heart. I want to encourage you, get rid of it today completely and you will find it's so easy. Is it so difficult to get rid of the desire to blame other people? 30:46 You'll find the when you get leave Satan's hand and say, "I'm not going to hold hands with you anymore accusing people. I'm going to learn something from that thief on the cross. You say, I am to blame. You'll find salvation comes very 31:02 quickly. And I believe that that is the type of people God wants to gather in his church. The other thing I want to say is along with guilt, there is a curse that has come upon the earth when Adam 31:22 sinned. And I want to say something about the curse because the Bible says Christ died to deliver us from the curse as well. See, the first time the word curse comes in the Bible is in Genesis 3 when the Lord said to Adam, "The ground 31:38 is cursed." Now, I want you to notice this very important thing. Adam was not cursed. When Adam sinned and Eve sinned, God cursed the ground and he cursed the serpent. But he didn't curse Adam and Eve. But then because 32:01 this habit of blaming others was there, Adam blamed his wife and the wife blamed the serpent, sin always multiplies. And when a husband and wife have this type of attitude, they're going to produce children like 32:19 that. And in the next generation, it gets worse. Cain doesn't just blame his brother, he kills him. See, that's the tragedy. If we don't get rid of sin in our life, it's going to multiply in the next generation. And then what happened? 32:38 When Cain killed Abel, you read this the next time the word curse comes in Genesis 4. And this time, this is the first time that God curses a man. 32:56 It's very important to note that he never cursed Adam and Eve. There he only cursed the serpent in the ground. But when it came to Genesis 4, he cursed Cain. Why? What was the difference between Adam's sin and Cain's sin? Both were 33:15 sins. We know that. But there was a difference. When Adam sinned, he hurt himself. When Cain sinned, he hurt somebody else. See, there are two types of sins. 33:33 I call it the Genesis 3 type of sin and the Genesis 4 type of sin. Genesis 3 is where you hurt only yourself. You take drugs, you get drunk, you hurt yourself. Maybe you don't hurt others, 33:52 but you gossip, backbite, tell stories about others, ruin their reputation. You're hurting others. Which is worse in the eyes of Christians? taking drugs or backbiting. 34:11 Isn't it amazing how we got a wrong sense of sin? You see somebody smoking a cigarette and you say, "Boy, what a terrible sin." But the people who say that can sit and backbite against somebody else and don't even feel convicted. It's amazing. 34:26 The devil's a master deceiver. When you hurt somebody else, it's a greater sin than when you hurt only yourself. habits that ruin our body like smoking and drinking and drug addiction, they're bad because this body 34:45 is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We're not supposed to destroy it. But when you hurt somebody else, that's worse. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 7, "Treat other people the way you want to be treated yourself 35:05 because that's the message of the whole Bible." Those are Jesus words. I'm just paraphrasing it. Matthew chapter 7, treat other people the way you want to be treated yourself because that's the message of the whole Bible. 35:19 And I tell you, if you follow that one rule, treat your wife like the way you want to be treated yourself, treat your husband like the way you want to be treated yourself, treat your children like the way you want to be treated 35:31 yourself. You don't like to be yelled at, don't yell at other people. You don't like to be cheated, don't cheat others. I mean, there's many, many applications. So when Cain didn't do that, the 35:49 punishment on him was very severe. Now later on you read about the curse of the law. If people couldn't keep the law, they would be cursed etc. But when you come to Galatians in chapter 3, you find that Jesus not only freed us from 36:08 the guilt of our past but from the curse. There is no curse upon God's people. That's the other thing we need to understand. I want to turn you to Galatians in chapter 3. In Galatians chapter 3 verse 13 and 14, you shall 36:25 know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Here it says the Old Testament it was written cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. Who was this one who hung on the tree? Jesus. He redeemed us from the curse of 36:44 the law. You see, the law said if you don't measure up to this standard, you'll be cursed with this and that and the other thing. But Jesus died and removed all the curse from us permanently. And not only removed the curse, but the blessing 37:03 of God came upon us instead. What does it mean when it says Christ? It says here became a curse. It's an amazing verse. I wouldn't have dared to say that if it were not in scripture. And I must say after 47 years of being a believer, 37:21 I have not plumbed the depths of what that meant to Jesus Christ. You know, we think of the physical suffering. We see movies like The Passion of Christ and weep when we think of how he suffered. But I want to tell you something that 37:41 physical suffering was nothing compared to the inward suffering that Jesus went through and that we will understand. I mean I myself have understood a little bit of it. I believe when we stand before the Lord we'll understand it much more. And 37:59 in that day, we'll understand the depth of his love for us and how much God hated sin. How much Jesus had to suffer. It was not I'll tell you this, the physical suffering that Jesus went through was 1% of what he actually suffered for our 38:13 sin. He became a curse. He was forsaken by his father. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 it says he became sin. It's so difficult for us to understand 38:31 this but it's something far beyond what our little minds can understand but it was awful. He became that he became sin so that we might be the righteousness of God in him. God loves us but he hates sin. And that's what we need to see. Just 38:51 like when you look at your child, you love your child, but you hate every disease that your child has. That's how God looks at us. Sometimes we confuse the two. We think that, oh, well, God doesn't mind us being in sin. He 39:04 certainly does. I mean, would you like your child to be sick? No. You love your child so much, but you hate every sickness in that body. And I want to tell you, God loves every one of us, but he hates every single sin that's ruining 39:17 us. We don't see how much it's ruining us. And he loves us so much that he was willing to let his own son become sin, whatever that means. I haven't plumbed the depths of it myself. Become a curse so that there might never be a curse 39:35 upon us. Now you see nowadays there are people who talk about a generational curse. That means if your great-grandfather did some stupid thing, you're going to suffer for that. I'll tell you what that is. a lot of rubbish 39:51 baloney that my great-grandfather did something and I'm going to suffer for that. How is that possible? It's because we haven't understood what salvation is. Now, there are people who say in the Old Testament, it says unto the third and 40:03 the fourth generation, I will visit the iniquity of the fathers. It's right. But show me that verse in the New Testament. It isn't there. These are verses that a lot of preachers used to scare you with. Here let me explain salvation to you in 40:19 a very simple way. Here is a tree called Adam and here is a tree called Christ. All of us grew up as branches of this tree called Adam and all the effects of father great-grandfather all the way to Adam. All the curses everything was upon 40:37 me. Sure I believe in those generational curses. But when I was born again you know what happened? Jesus cut me off from that tree. >> He cut off this branch and planted it into this one. He grafted it into this. >> Now you tell me what generational curse 40:58 is there in Christ. That's where I am today. >> I'm not in that old tree. >> I don't have anything to do with that. I become a new creation. >> So don't let anybody scare you with all these verses from the Old Testament. 41:12 Jesus became a curse for me that I might never have a curse in my life. >> No demon, no witch doctor can do anything to you and me. >> Impossible. >> That's why it's so important for us to know that we have been taken out of Adam 41:28 and put into Christ. But you know, somebody says, "But brother Zach, I have actually prayed for people who claim to be Christians and who were delivered like this." Maybe they claimed to be Christians, but they were still in that 41:40 old tree. That's why there a lot of people who claim to be Christians who haven't broken off from Adam. And the reason is they haven't acknowledged their sin. They haven't taken the blame. They're still blaming somebody else. 41:52 Well, if you're blaming somebody else, you're going to have problems. But if you're like that thief on the cross, your life can be a paradise from today. Just start blame taking the blame yourself. You're taken out of Adam and put into 42:06 Christ. And if you're not sure of this, you can be sure tonight, absolutely sure that you've been taken out of Adam and put into Christ. The worst sinner sitting here, you can ask Jesus. All you got to do is do what the 42:22 thief on the cross did. Lord, I'm guilty. I don't want to blame anybody else in the world from today. I want to take the blame completely myself. Lord Jesus, I believe you became sin for me. You became a curse for me that I 42:39 might never come under the curse of God again, but have the blessing of God upon my life. When Jesus preached his first sermon, he said, "The spirit of the Lord has anointed me in Luke chapter 4, you read that verse 42:58 18 onwards to set the captives free. You know the word Christ is a Greek word which means anointed. He was anointed. The word Christ means 43:15 anointed. Why was he anointed? To set us free. To set us free from guilt. From the remembrance of past sin. From the curse permanently once for all. And when we receive this Christ into our hearts, 43:33 you know what? We become Christians. Junior anointed ones. That's the meaning of Christian. A little anointed one. And what is this little anointed one supposed to do? The 43:52 same thing that the big anointed one did. set people free. You and I have to go around setting people free. That's our calling. Not go around accusing them, putting them in bondage and under condemnation. Don't ever listen to a preacher who puts 44:12 you in bondage or under condemnation. Little anointed ones preach the word to set people free. >> Be one like that. Even if you never stand in a pull pit, [Applause] will you go home and release your wives tonight 44:31 from whatever they did wrong to you in the past years? Release your husbands from all the evil they did for you in all your lifetime. Release them today and you will be released yourself. Jesus said that release and you will be 44:45 released.
