0:00 *Music* Hello Lord, let's sing it to the Lord. 0:21 Prabhupada, Jesus Christo are you going to come to the earth? *Music* Just like Adam was the beginning of the old creation. *Music* 0:44 God did not feel that when that old creation sinned, it could be repaired. *Music* You know, sometimes we can repair certain gadgets, and after some time we say, 1:05 it cannot be repaired anyway, just throw it away. *Music* One of the most important lessons that Christians need to learn is this. *Music* 1:27 That this old nature we've got from Adam cannot be repaired. *Music* Most Christians are trying to repair and improve their bad nature. *Music* 1:53 But you can only give an impression on the outside that it has been repaired. *Music* That is like painting some gadget that does not work. *Music* If you've got a useless scooter that's not working at all, and you paint it up nicely, it's no use. 2:14 *Music* But that is the type of Christianity even many born again people have. *Music* Because they have not understood what really born again means. *Music* 2:35 Somebody told them, just say, Lord Jesus come into my heart and everything is solved. *Music* If you read the Gospels, you hardly ever hear Jesus saying, "Believe in me". He said this more, "Follow me". *Music* 3:03 He did say, "Believe in me", but much more he said, "Follow me". *Music* "Believe in me" is just the beginning. *Music* What would you think of a husband and wife, of a man and woman, who got married one day, and then they began to live separately? 3:22 *Music* That is how many born again Christians are. *Music* If you ask this couple, "Are you married?" Yes. Here is the certificate. We are married. *Music* 3:43 *Music* But are you living together? *Music* No. *Music* This is the condition of many people. *Music* They say on so-and-so date in 1985 or something, I accepted Christ. *Music* *Music* I took baptism, that is like my marriage certificate. 4:03 *Music* *Music* *Music* Are you living with the Lord? *Music* *Music* Are you becoming more and more like Him? *Music* No. They are trying to improve the old nature, because they feel the old nature doesn't give a good testimony. 4:22 *Music* I want to tell you that Jesus did not come to repair our old nature. You know, Jesus once told a parable. *Music* *Music* *Music* *Music* *Music* You know, Jesus once told a parable. And he said about an old garment. Luke 5:36. An old garment that is torn somewhere. So what you do? Somebody buys a new cloth and cuts out a piece from that new cloth and stitches it to the old garment. 5:08 Luke 5:36. Now, you know that cotton always, cotton cloth always shrinks when it is put in the water. 5:32 Luke 5:36. So without shrinking it, if you stitch it onto an old garment, it will tear the old garment. Luke 5:36. So what was he teaching here? Luke 5:36. That you cannot take a patch of Jesus' life and attach it to the Adam's life. 5:54 Luke 5:39. That means, I say, okay, I want one patient from Jesus and I will attach it to the old Adam's life. Luke 5:39. You can't do it. You can't do it. You have to throw away the old garment. 6:16 Luke 6:39. And get a completely new garment. And if you don't do that, we will become like the Pharisees. Luke 6:39. Outwardly, very religious. You look at the lives of these Pharisees. It was very good on the outside. Luke 6:39. They, any person who did not have discernment would think they are very spiritual people. 6:44 Luke 6:39. And that's the way a lot of Christians and Christian leaders look today. Luke 6:39. The Pharisees had a lot of zeal. Luke 6:39. Jesus said they crossed land and sea doing missionary work to convert people to Pharisees. 7:05 Luke 6:39. You read that in Matthew 23. Luke 6:39. Imagine a person who gives up his job, goes and lives in another country with all the difficulties to convert people to become a Pharisee. 7:26 Luke 6:39. Jesus said what is the result of that type of conversion? Luke 6:39. Was Jesus impressed with their missionary work? Luke 6:39. Not at all. He said you go there and you make him two-fourth a child of hell. 7:54 Luke 7:39. In Matthew 23 verse 15. Luke 7:39. Imagine giving up your job, going as a missionary, and then making that fellow who is already a child of hell, double a child of hell. Luke 7:39. Do you think that is happening today? 8:12 Luke 7:39. Do you think that is happening today? Luke 7:39. I believe it is happening all over Christendom. Luke 8:39. If a man lives in sin, he is a child of hell. Luke 8:39. Whatever religion, even if he calls himself a Christian. 8:34 Luke 8:39. If you tell that man, that now you have said these magic words, Lord Jesus come into my heart. Luke 8:39. And now you are a son of God. Luke 8:39. But he lives in the same old way. 8:54 Luke 8:39. He has become double the child of hell. Luke 8:39. Because now he imagines he is going to heaven. Luke 9:40. Before that he did not imagine he was going to heaven. Luke 9:40. Now he imagines he is going to heaven, but he is living the same old life. 9:12 Luke 9:40. That is why the apostle James wrote that faith without words is dead. Luke 9:40. There is a head faith and a heart faith. 9:32 Luke 9:40. James says head faith even the devils have. They also believe that. Luke 9:40. Every demon in hell knows that Jesus died for the sins of the world. Luke 9:40. Every demon knows that Jesus rose from the dead. 9:56 Luke 9:40. Every demon knows the Bible is the word of God. Luke 9:40. So if you believe all those things, you are not better than the demon. Luke 9:40. Ask yourself, what is it you believe in your head which any demon does not believe? 10:18 Luke 9:40. You may say the church pattern of your church is the correct pattern. Luke 9:40. If it is according to the New Testament. Luke 10:40. You may say the demons also believe that. Luke 10:40. What is it that you can say I believe which the demons don't believe? 10:40 Luke 10:40. You believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only way to the Father? Luke 10:40. Every demon knows that. Luke 10:40. That he is coming back one day to judge the world? Every demon knows that. 11:00 Luke 10:40. Their faith is in their mind. Luke 10:40. And the faith which is only in your mind that doesn't change your life is a demonic faith. Luke 10:40. Those are not my words. Luke 10:40. Those are not my words. Luke 10:40. See James in chapter 2. 11:18 Luke 10:40. Verse 19. Luke 10:40. You believe that God is one? That's good. Luke 10:40. The demons also believe and they shudder. Luke 10:40. The demons actually do something more than you do. They tremble. 11:42 Luke 10:40. So that doesn't change the life of the demons. Luke 10:40. So what I'm trying to say is all your belief in Christianity won't change your life. Luke 10:40. There is something that demons don't have. 12:02 Luke 10:40. Which is a living faith. Luke 10:40. And that's why he says in verse 26, James 2. Luke 10:40. That just like the body without breath is dead. So faith without words is dead. Luke 10:40. So if there are two people lying here, one is dead. 12:28 Luke 10:40. How will you find out which is dead and which is alive? Luke 10:40. Is it by counting their fingers? Luke 10:40. No, both have got 10 fingers. Luke 10:40. They got 10 toes. Luke 10:40. Two eyes. Two ears. Luke 10:40. You can count everything in the body. They are both look alike. 12:48 Luke 10:40. You can count everything in the body. They are both look alike. Luke 10:40. One is sleeping and the other is dead. Luke 10:40. Is there a difference between the dead and alive person? Luke 10:40. Externally, nothing because he just died a couple of minutes ago. 13:06 Luke 10:40. Externally, nothing because he just died a couple of minutes ago. Luke 10:40. Externally, you may look just like a morning in Christian. Luke 10:40. Here it says, what is the most important thing in the body? 13:22 Luke 10:40. The breath. Luke 10:40. The spirit. Luke 10:40. This man has got breath. Luke 10:40. That is what proves he is alive. Luke 10:40. All the external things are the same. 13:44 Luke 10:40. Jesus came to give us the Holy Spirit. Luke 10:40. The Holy Spirit is God himself coming to dwell in us. Luke 10:41. Which nobody in the Old Testament could have. Luke 10:41. Even John the Baptist could have the Holy Spirit only on the other. 14:06 Luke 10:41. The Old Testament the word filled with the spirit means from the outside. Luke 10:41. Like wearing a dress. Luke 10:41. You can put on the shirt and take it off. 14:26 Luke 10:41. That's how it was in the Old Testament. Luke 10:41. A power that came on the outside. Luke 10:41. That could give them tremendous power to preach or kill lions or so many things. Luke 10:41. But it was not inside. 14:42 Luke 10:41. Jesus said in John chapter 14. Luke 10:41. That something would happen after he went up to heaven. Luke 10:41. Which never happened before. Luke 10:41. Before John 14. Let me show you John 7. Luke 10:41. You know, he spoke about verse 38. 15:02 Luke 10:41. That if anybody believed in him, rivers of living water will flow from within him. Luke 10:41. The most important word in that is not rivers. Luke 10:41. But from inside. 15:30 Luke 10:41. It's not the rivers of living water. Luke 10:42. A lot of Christians talk about rivers of living water. Rivers of living water. Luke 10:42. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was poured out like rivers of living water, but it flowed over the head, over the body and flowed out. 15:50 Luke 10:42. It was a river. Luke 10:42. The river of God flowed from heaven upon many Old Testament prophets. Luke 10:42. But it flowed over them and out like that to other people. Luke 10:42. Even Gideon and Samson, who were not very Godly people, they had the spirit flowing over them. 16:12 Luke 10:42. Gideon worshiped idols afterwards. Luke 10:42. Samson lived in adultery. Luke 10:42. But the spirit flowed over them. Luke 10:42. In this New Testament, Jesus said, Luke 10:43. The spirit, verse 38, will from his innermost being, it will flow. 16:40 Luke 10:43. How can the Holy Spirit flow from within? Luke 10:43. He has to first come within. Luke 10:43. He has to come there and then flow out from within. Luke 10:43. This will never happen in the Old Testament. Luke 10:43. That's why it says in verse 39. 17:00 Luke 10:43. He spoke of the spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive, for the spirit was not given, because Jesus was not glorified. Luke 10:43. Have you thought of this last part of verse 39? Luke 10:43. Have you thought of this last part of verse 39? 17:14 Luke 10:43. The spirit was not given. Luke 10:43. The spirit was not given. Luke 10:43. Because Jesus was not glorified. Luke 10:43. The spirit was not given. Luke 10:43. Because Jesus was not glorified. Luke 10:43. You say, how was the spirit given to Elijah and Elisha? 17:42 Luke 10:43. How was John the Baptist filled with the spirit from his mother's womb? Luke 10:43. What is the meaning of spirit was not given? Luke 10:43. The spirit was not given to live inside man. 18:02 Luke 10:43. He was given only to flow from the outside. Luke 10:43. It's very important to understand this difference. Luke 10:45. Jesus said to the woman of Samaria, John chapter 4. 18:22 Luke 10:43. In verse 14. Luke 10:43. He pointed to the well there and said, if anyone drinks of this water, he will thirst again. Luke 10:43. But verse 14. If you drink of the water that I give, you will never thirst. Luke 10:43. But the water that I give will be inside him, a well. 18:44 Luke 10:43. The most important word is inside. Luke 10:43. The most important word in John 7:38 is from inside. 19:04 Luke 10:44. Jesus puts a well inside. The well becomes a river and flows out. Luke 10:44. Jesus puts a well inside. The well becomes a river and flows out. Luke 10:45. Now, just before he went to the cross in John chapter 14 and the Last Supper. 19:22 Luke 10:45. He said this about the Holy Spirit. Luke 10:45. John 14:14. He said this about the Holy Spirit. Luke 10:14. He said this about what he's going to do when he goes up to heaven. Luke 10:14. I will ask the Father and he will give you another helper to be with you forever. 19:44 Luke 10:16. Luke 10:16. I want you to see a very important verse in verse 17. Two important things there. Luke 10:16. The first thing is the last part. 20:04 Luke 10:16. At the moment he is abiding with you, but in that day he will be inside you. Luke 10:16. See the difference? Now he is with you. Luke 10:16. One day in the day of Pentecost he will be in you. 20:24 Luke 10:17. For thousands of years before Christ the Spirit was with people. Luke 10:18. What is this new thing now? He will come inside. Luke 10:18. That is why he could not change people's nature in the Old Testament. 20:43 Luke 10:18. If you help a person from the outside, you can't change his nature. Luke 10:19. For example, choosing your father is a first class artist. Luke 10:20. And he takes his five-year-old son's hand. 21:03 Luke 10:20. And draw some beautiful painting. Luke 10:20. That's amazing. A five-year-old can paint like that. Luke 10:20. Because his father is holding his hand. Luke 10:20. So now the father takes away the hand. Luke 10:20. So now you do it. 21:23 Luke 10:20. And the five-year-old can't do anything. It's useless drawing. Luke 10:20. Because he doesn't have the father's ability inside it. Luke 10:20. If there was some way by which the father could come inside this child, then the father child could do it. 21:43 Luke 10:20. Do you realize what a tremendous privilege it is to have the Holy Spirit dwelling within? Luke 10:20. Do you realize what a tremendous privilege it is to have the Holy Spirit dwelling within? Luke 10:20. Now, the second thing I want you to see in verse 17. 22:02 Luke 10:20. See, our subject these days is a heavenly life on earth. Luke 10:20. And I'm trying to introduce that subject with what I've said so far. Luke 10:20. Now listen to this. Verse 17. 22:22 Luke 10:20. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth. Luke 10:20. It's very important to know that. Luke 10:20. The Holy Spirit hates every type of lie. Luke 10:20. Please remember that. Luke 10:20. If there is even a little bit of lying in you, 22:44 Luke 10:20. The Spirit will leave you. Luke 10:20. He is the Spirit of Truth. Luke 10:20. He hates lying. Luke 10:20. He cannot go inside their room where there are lies. Luke 10:20. Just like we are repelled by something filthy. 23:06 Luke 10:20. You know, when you try to look for a...you are going to rent a house. Luke 10:20. Somebody says there is a house very cheap. Luke 10:20. Oh, you go to see it. Luke 10:20. And it's in the midst of a dirty slum. 23:25 Luke 10:20. People are sitting for the toilet all over there. Luke 10:21. You can't put the water flowing over there. Luke 10:21. Very cheap rent. Luke 10:21. Why don't you choose it? Luke 10:21. Why don't you choose it? 23:43 Luke 10:21. Because you are repelled by the whole surroundings. Luke 10:21. That is exactly how the Holy Spirit is repelled by any type of lie. Luke 10:21. He is called the spirit of truth. Luke 10:21. He pulls away from anything that is lying. 24:05 Luke 10:21. Now, what is the biggest type of lie Christians speak? Luke 10:21. The biggest lie Christians speak is without opening their mouth. Luke 10:21. You say, how can I tell a lie without opening my mouth? 24:29 Luke 10:21. When you give people the impression that you are very holy and you are not holy, that's a lie. Luke 10:21. When you pray in public in such a way to impress people that you are such a spiritual man. 24:49 Luke 10:21. You pray long prayers in public when you don't even pray at home at all. Luke 10:21. And you make everybody say Amen and Hallelujah. Luke 10:21. You are telling a lie. You are giving people an impression which is not true. 25:15 Luke 10:21. No wonder the Holy Spirit does not fill your life. Luke 10:21. I will tell you the secret of being spilled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 10:21. You don't have to speak in tongues but you have to speak the truth. 25:37 Luke 10:23. If God gives you the gift of tongues, take it but truth is 100%. Luke 10:23. The Bible says God does not give the gift of tongues to all his children. Luke 10:25. It's only to some. Luke 10:25. But truth is for all his children. 26:02 Luke 10:25. So people ask me, what is the mark of being filled with the Holy Spirit? Luke 10:26. Some Christian groups will say they speak in tongues. Luke 10:26. I say no. I say they will speak the truth all the time. Luke 10:26. That is a better question. 26:24 Luke 10:26. Now what is the meaning of speaking the truth? Luke 10:26. In Acts chapter 5, we read about the first time that God judged sin in the early church. Luke 10:26. And it's very interesting to see that. 26:49 Luke 10:26. It was not the sin of adultery. Luke 10:26. It was not the sin of stealing money. Luke 10:27. It was not the sin of bitterness or jealousy. 27:10 Luke 10:29. Maybe Ananias and Sapphira never committed adultery. Luke 10:30. They never stole anybody's marijuana. Luke 10:30. They had forgiven everyone. Luke 10:30. They had no bitterness against anybody. Luke 10:30. They had no jealousy against anybody. 27:23 Luke 10:30. They had so many good qualities. Luke 10:30. They had so many good qualities. Luke 10:30. They had given up all worldly habits. Luke 10:30. Why did God kill them? Luke 10:30. Why is this written in such detail? 27:40 Luke 10:31. Why is the first sin that God judged written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? 27:50 Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? 27:56 Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? 28:01 Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? 28:05 Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? Luke 10:31. Why is this written in such detail? come to a heavenly life on this earth. The Holy Spirit came from heaven to bring heaven inside us. And if you allow the Holy Spirit to fill you inside, I can tell you from my experience, your inner life will become heavenly. 28:37 For example, heaven is a place of peace and that peace will reign in your heart all the time. Heaven is a place where they never grumble or complain and you will never grumble or complain. Heaven is a place where nobody is discouraged and depressed and you will not be discouraged or depressed. 29:04 They rejoice always there and you will rejoice always there. They reverence God all the time there and you will reverence God all the time. They walk in holiness in heaven and you will walk in holiness on this earth. You cannot do that by repairing the old Adamic life. 29:11 If you just try to make your external life a little better. If you just try to make your external life a little better than you will do that by repairing the old Adamic life. If you just try to make your external life a little better you will be just a better Pharisee. 29:29 Jesus said it is like putting a nice tombstone on dead man's bones underneath. Jesus Christ said it is like putting a nice tombstone on dead man's bones underneath. He brought these cemeteries and the rich people have built such fantastic tombstones over some dead relatives. 29:50 He brought these cemeteries and the rich people who have built such fantastic tombstones over some dead relatives. If you put a marble statue of a marble statue of a marble statue of an angel there. If you put a marble statue of an angel there. 30:07 If you put a marble statue of an angel there. If you put a marble statue of an angel there. If you dig it out and look inside the box there. 30:33 If you dig it out and look inside the box there. It is stinking. If you put a marble statue of an angel there. Jesus said that is religion. Externally right. If you try to clean up only our external life that is what it will become like. 30:52 If you put a marble statue of an angel there. Ananias and Sapphira did not open their mouth and say one word. Ananias and Sapphira did not open their mouth and say one word. Ananias came. Ananias came. Ananias came. There was a, you know it says here that lot of people were, verse chapter 4, 37. 31:14 Were selling their land and bringing money and laying it at the apostles' feet. Ananias came. You know it says here that lot of people were, verse chapter 4, 37. Were selling their land and bringing money and laying it at the apostles' feet. 31:21 Nobody preached that. Nobody preached that. The apostles never preached to tell people to give money, give money, give money, give money. They were not like today's preachers. They never told anybody to try the entire New Testament. 31:40 They never told anybody to try the entire New Testament. They never told anybody to try the entire New Testament. They never told anybody to try the entire New Testament. They never told anybody to try the entire New Testament. 31:47 You don't become heavenly by giving money to the church. You don't become heavenly by giving money to the church. You don't become heavenly by being free from the love of money. Either preacher or ordinary believer. The apostles never told people to give. 32:06 But they themselves voluntarily gave. God loves cheerful givers. Not those who are forced. So these people came and gave their money. And Ananize and Sapphira saw all the believers in their church going and selling land and giving money. 32:26 The Ananize and Sapphira saw all the believers in their church going and selling land and giving money. They thought if we don't do something then we won't have a good testament. They thought if we don't do something then we won't have a good testament. 32:42 I mean supposing for example ten families come together and say all of you bring some food and meal and lunch together. And then nine of them bring some food and you come empty handed there. How are you feeling? You'll bring something at least you bring some potato chips or something. 33:08 You won't come empty handed if you think so bad. That's how Ananize and Sapphira fell. And so they said we have to give something. 33:29 So they sold a piece of property. But they didn't give all. All the others were giving everything. He says in verse 2 they kept back some of the price for themselves. 33:51 Kept back some means okay. Let's say they kept back the people said. They sold their property for two lakhs and they decided to give one lakh to God. Now if you sell your property for 200,000 rupees and you give 100,000 rupees to God. 34:12 What will people think of you? You'll be considered a very spiritual man. How many people sell their property for 200,000 rupees and give 100,000 rupees to God? There was nothing wrong in that. 34:32 Then why did they get killed? They went and sold their property for 200,000 rupees, gave 100,000 rupees to God and they got killed for it. You have to understand it. You may be like that too. 34:52 You may be making a lot of sacrifices for God's work. You may be making a lot of sacrifices for God's work. And you think you are very spiritual. You may be like Ananias or Sapphira. So read carefully. Ananias just stood in that queue. 35:09 Who were keeping the money in the Apostles. He took these people from the Apostles of the Apostles. And he brings his 100,000 rupees and puts it there. Others brought less because they were not so rich like Ananias. He was pretty proud that he was bringing a lot of money. 35:28 But the others were giving everything. When he stood in that line. He was giving people the impression that he was also giving everything. You know like when the people were all repenting and going to John the Baptist for baptism. 35:55 Some Pharisees also got into that line. To give people the impression we are also repenting and trying to live a holy life. He looked at them. He said get away I am not going to baptize you. 36:24 You have not repented. You are just coming here to get honor. And he turned away all the Pharisees. Because they are not really repented. They stood in that line just to get honor. Ananias also stood in this line to get honor. 36:43 Ananias also stood in this line to get honor. Though he was not like the others. They were giving 100%, he was giving only 50%. But he never opened his mouth. With a holy look he came and kept the 100,000 of these days. 37:03 And he was going away. And he was going away. Peter said come back. Peter said come back. Ananias. Ananias. Verse 3. Why has satan filled your heart to tell a lie to the Holy Spirit to keep back some of the price of the land? 37:19 Ananias. Ananias. Ananias. Ananias. Ananias. Ananias. Ananias. Listen to this. A lot of people think they get 10% to God they are very spiritual. Some preacher has fooled you by that lie. 37:41 This man is giving 50%. And he says satan has filled your heart. Can a man give 50% of his income to God and have satan fill his heart? Well. But Ananias could have said. What do you mean I never told any lie. I didn't even open my mouth. 37:57 And he says in verse 3. You told a lie to the Holy Spirit. That's where we see you can tell a lie without opening your mouth. Ananias. Ananias never said one word. But he gave people the impression which was false. That's the first sin God judged in the early church. 38:09 That's the first sin God judged in the early church. A man loved this world. A man loved this world. A man loved this world. And he stood in the line of heaven and he stood in the line of heaven and he stood in the line of heaven. 38:21 I'm also heavenly minded people pretending I'm also heavenly minded. Ananias never said one word. Ananias never said one word. Ananias never said one word. Ananias never said one word. But he gave people the impression which was false. 38:28 That's the first sin God judged in the early church. A man loved this world. A man loved this world. And he stood in the line of heavenly minded people pretending I'm also heavenly minded. When you sit in the midst of godly people you're no interest in godliness yourself. 39:04 That is the sin of Ananias. You're a liar. You're giving people an impression which is not true. What does that mean? Does it mean every believer has to sell all their land and give it to god? There's no law like that in the new testament. 39:24 There was no law like that in the old testament. And the apostles never preached it. But some people voluntarily did it. He doesn't say here everybody in the church did it. It's just that some people felt they should do it and they did it. 39:46 A lot of them were not owners of lands or houses. They were living in rented houses. But it's true that almost everybody who had lands and houses were selling them. But it was voluntary. Entirely voluntary. That's the first thing you must remember. 40:01 In the true church of Jesus Christ everything is voluntary. Now listen to this very important principle in relation to money. Now listen to this very important principle in relation to money. 40:29 Verse 4 of Acts 5. When your property was not sold. It was your own. When you own property and you don't sell it. God doesn't say sell it. 40:51 It is your own. You can keep it. You don't have to sell it. That's what Peter is telling Ananias. Nobody asked you to sell it. It was your own. Just because he sells his property and gives to God. Why should you do it? Nobody told him and nobody told you. 41:12 He voluntarily feels like doing it. No, you don't have to do it. You don't sell your property and you don't give it to God. You are not committing a sin. That's what he told him first of all. If you have money and you don't give it all to God. 41:34 There is no sin. You got a huge bank account. There is no sin there. You got three, four properties. There is no sin in all. There is no sin in all. There is no sin in all. It is your own. It is very clear in verse 4. Secondly, after you sell it, you get the money and put it in your bank. 42:00 It is still your own. See the second sentence. After it was sold, was it still not under your control? Before you sell it, it is yours. After you sell it, it is yours. God did not want it before you sold it. God does not want it after you sold it. 42:19 God does not want it after you sold it. You don't want it after you sold it. You don't want it after you sold it. You don't want it after you sold it. You don't want it after you sold it. You don't want it after you sold it. 42:26 That was the teaching of the Apostles. God is not interested in your money. But he is interested in your speaking the truth. The question is not, why didn't you give your money? The question is, why did you tell a lie? What does Peter say? 42:50 This is very important to understand. Because there is so much of false teaching in this area. Verse 4. Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is telling him. Ananias, while your property was not sold, it was yours. 43:15 Today what do preachers say? If your property is not sold, 10% is God, 90% is yours. That's a lie. Peter said it's all yours. Okay, then after you sell it. 43:36 Supposing you sell it for two lakhs. Two hundred thousand rupees you got. Today's preachers will say. Twenty thousand belongs to God, remaining is yours. What did Peter say? No. It's all yours. 43:56 Are you happy? God wants you to be happy. He wants all his children to be happy. He says if you want to keep all your money, keep it and be happy. You know, if you give even 10 million, one crore rupees to God. 44:20 It's like, you know what it is to give to such a rich God. Ten million, one crore rupees. For God, it is like putting ten paisa in a beggar's. That's what God has to do. You think, oh, ten million rupees. Compared to God's wealth. 44:42 Like ten paisa in a beggar's. And you think God is saying, give me, give me, give me, give me that ten pais, please. All these preachers who represent God are deceivers. It is yours, Peter says. 45:05 But why do you tell a lie? Why you have not lied to men, verse 4, you have lied to God. And he dropped dead. Verse 5, he fell down dead. 45:26 Somebody asked me. Brother Jack, why doesn't God deal with sin like that today in the church? I said there will be nobody alive if that happens. I said there will be nobody alive if that happens. I said there will be nobody alive if that happens. 45:46 Maybe one or two people will be alive after that. Because a lot of Christians are living in hypocrisy. They have not understood the importance of speaking the truth. Whatever spirit they got is not the Holy Spirit. 46:13 Because the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. Most Christians are living a lie. And when you pretend, you can never come into a Godly life. You can never come into a Godly life. 46:34 So the first lesson you need to learn. In order to live a heavenly life on earth. Is to learn to be truthful. That means to say Lord, I never want to give an impression to other people from today. 46:56 Of something that is not true. That means to say Lord, the truth is not true. What did Jesus mean when he said I am the way, the truth and the life? That means to say Lord, I am the truth and the life. 47:17 The way I can understand is the way to God. Life I can understand is the way to God. Life I can understand, he gives me eternal life. Life of God. But what does he mean when he says I am the truth? What does he mean when he says I am the truth? 47:34 Wasn't there other people speaking the truth on the earth? Any child who says two plus two is four is speaking the truth. All mathematicians calculating and correct answer, that is the truth. He is not speaking about scientific and mathematical truth when Jesus said that. 47:58 He was speaking about another type of truth in John 14:6. John 14:6. 48:20 I am the truth. And verse 17. I will send the spirit of truth which the world cannot receive. But this spirit of truth which I am will be in you now. 48:41 What does he mean that I am truth? That means there is no pretence in me. I am not pretending to be holy when I am not holy. You know how sometimes we can speak very loving words to somebody and we don't really love them? 49:03 You know how sometimes we can speak very loving words to somebody and we don't really love them? You can speak nice words to somebody and you can have daggers in your heart against them. That's a lie. That's a lie. Sometimes you can flatter people to get some advantage from them. 49:24 Sometimes you don't have to say anything. That's a lie. The race of Adam is full of lies. See what it says in the Psalms. Psalm 58. Verse 3. 49:45 The wicked are estranged from the womb. They speak lies from their birth. They start telling lies from the time they are born. Have you heard babies telling lies before they know how to speak? 50:05 Have you heard it? I'll tell you. I have seen it. I have children myself and I know. They start crying and screaming. And the father is worried. What is happening? As if some calamity is happening with that. I don't know how to speak. 50:15 They don't know how to speak. Have you heard it? Have you heard it? I'll tell you. I've seen it. I've seen it. I have children myself and I know. They start crying and screaming. They start crying and screaming. And the father is worried. 50:26 What is happening? As if some calamity is happening with that. The mother knows. Nothing is wrong. She does want somebody to pick it up and carry it. That's all. But it gives the impression. Oh, I'm in terrible pain. But something is wrong. 50:35 The mother knows. Nothing is wrong. She does want somebody to pick it up and carry it. That's all. But it gives the impression. Oh, I'm in terrible pain. Something is wrong. As soon as you carry it, it's quiet. It was a lie. 50:45 That crying. It goes astray from birth telling lies. It goes astray from birth. Telling lies. Have any of you had to teach your children to tell lies. Have any of you had to teach your children to tell lies? Oh, I'm in terrible pain. 50:51 Oh, I'm in terrible pain. But something is wrong. As soon as you carry it, it's quiet. As soon as you carry it, it's quiet. It was a lie. That crying. It goes astray from birth telling lies. As soon as you carry it, it's quiet. 51:01 It's quiet. It was a lie. That crying. It goes astray from birth telling lies. Have any of you had to teach your children to tell lies? Have any of you had to teach your children to tell lies? Have any of you had to teach your children to tell lies? 51:21 No. It's there. And as we grow up, we become more clever in covering up our life. Ananias and Sapphira were like that. Dear brothers and sisters. See what Jesus said further. 51:44 In John 14 and verse 30. See these three verses I showed you. Verse 6. I am the truth, Jesus said. Second. You, verse 17. You will have the spirit of truth coming to dwell in you. 52:07 Now I will define it, Jesus says. Verse 30. The ruler of the world, that's the devil, is coming and he has got nothing in me. What did Jesus call the ruler of the world, the devil? 52:31 He is a liar, he said in John 8:44. He is a liar and he is the father of all lies. So the father of lies comes, the liar comes, Jesus says he has got zero in me. 52:52 You want to follow Jesus? Make sure the father of lies has got zero in you also. Is that very difficult? No. Can a prostitute speak the truth? Yes. He says, I am a prostitute. No, no, no pretending there. But if a prostitute pretends to be a very holy woman. 53:10 She is a liar. You don't have to be very holy to speak the truth. It means being honest. A murderer. He says, yes. Yes. He says, I am a prostitute. He says, I am a prostitute. No, no pretending there. No, no pretending there. 53:20 But if a prostitute pretends to be a very holy woman. But if a prostitute pretends to be a very holy woman. She is a liar. She is a liar. You don't have to be very holy to speak the truth. You don't have to be very holy to speak the truth. 53:34 It means being honest. A murderer. He says, yes. I am a murderer. He is speaking the truth. Think of the thief on the cross. One thief said to Jesus. Get me down from here. 53:54 I don't want to. I don't believe I deserve this. I am bad. I deserve three, four years in jail. But not being killed. But the other thief said. I am bad. I deserve to be killed. Meaning, I am such a bad man. I deserve to be killed. 54:08 And Jesus looked at him. Yes. He said, really? You really feel you are so bad. You are honest about it. Paradise is made for people like you. Today, you will be with me in paradise. You will be with me in paradise. Tell me what good quality did he have. 54:18 Tell me what good quality did he have. Tell me what good quality did he have. He had killed so many people like you. He had killed so many people like you. He said, really? You really feel you are so bad. You really feel you are so bad. 54:27 You are honest about it. Paradise is made for people like you. Today, you will be with me in paradise. You will be with me in paradise. Tell me what good quality did he have. Tell me what good quality did he have. He had killed so many men and made so many poor women widows. 54:37 But at the end of his life, he had one good quality. He was honest. Dear brothers and sisters, that is what God is saying, seeking to find in you also. You must learn from why Adam was put out of paradise. 55:15 How the thief got into paradise. Adam was dishonest. God asked him one question. Did you eat of that fruit? Yes or no, that is all. 55:35 Like the students have multiple choice questions. Did you eat of the tree? Yes or no. Adam does not pick either of them. Underneath he writes. Big letters. 55:55 My wife gave me the fruit. Second line. You gave me this wife. In small letters. I ate it. He can say I spoke the truth. In a court of law, he can say, see underneath, read carefully, I wrote, I ate it. 56:18 God says, don't try all these legal tricks with you. God says, don't try all these legal tricks with you. You are like that. Are you like that? God is white. My wretched wife you gave me. My wretched husband you gave me. 56:38 My wretched husband you gave me. What is the cause of all my problems? No, the Lord will tell you the same thing he told Adam. Get out of paradise. Be like the thief on the broads. Be honest. Be honest. That's the way to God's freedom. 56:58 That's the way to a heavenly life on earth. That's the way to a heavenly life on earth. Be truth. Let's pray. Power heads. Think for a moment of what you heard today. Heavenly Father. Help us to respond to your word. 57:18 We humbly ask in Jesus name. Yes, Christa Prabhupada, I will give you the Lord. Amen.
