0:00 We have been looking how if one day Jesus is to be king over all the earth, 0:28 then today he must be king in our lives. And we saw this morning and afternoon how he must be king in our body and in our mind. 0:56 God always starts from the center and spreads his witness outward. He told his disciples when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will be my witnesses. 1:20 First in the center in Jerusalem, then the next circle Judea and the next circle Samaria, then to the uttermost parts of the earth. So that is how God works in us also. 1:42 First in our heart, in our life, in our body, mind, and then in our home, and then in our church, and then we are a witness to the world. And so I want to just share a little more concerning what benefit we can get when the Lord is Lord of our body. 2:12 Jesus told us in Matthew 6, verse 6 and verse 25, Don't be anxious for your life, 2:33 for your life, what you eat, what you drink, or for your body, what you will put on. We live in a world where there are so many problems, it is very easy to have anxiety and fear. 3:03 And many of us who are poor think, that if only we had money, we will never be anxious. But those who have a lot of money, very often have more anxieties. 3:28 They are more afraid of thieves than the poor people. Thieves don't come to poor people's houses. And if you become cabinet minister, then you need to have so many people with guns around you, to protect you. 3:51 Because they don't know who will try to kill them. So, don't think that with more money, more position, you will be free from anxiety. He is talking here about money. How is verse 25 begin? 4:15 For this reason, I tell you, don't be anxious. Which reason? See the previous verse. You cannot serve two masters. God and money. And you say, 4:36 okay, I am serving God, I am being faithful, and I don't have much money. That means, we don't cheat. We don't tell lies. We don't give false certificate. We don't take any bribes. We are so upright. 4:59 And so, life becomes very difficult. Because in the world, so many people do wrong things with money. They give a bribe, and get admission, or a job, and we don't get it. 5:21 And then we get anxious. We are serving God, and he doesn't seem to care for us. Those people are serving money, they get admission, they get job, they get so many things. So those who are serving God, the Lord says, for this reason, 5:41 don't be anxious. Because look at the birds, how your heavenly father feeds them. See, God cares for the birds. 6:03 How many times do you see a dead bird on the street? So many millions of birds, but we don't see them lying dead on the street. Where do they get their food from? Says, your heavenly father feeds them. 6:26 We must always remember what Jesus said. Your heavenly father feeds the birds. Are you not worth, verse 26, much more than those birds? He's talking about the needs of the body. 6:50 Food. Clothing. Roof over our house. These are not spiritual needs, bodily needs. He's not talking about anxiety for spiritual needs in verse 25. How shall I get my children educated? 7:16 How will they get a job? Because they also, one day, will have to get food, clothing and shelter when they grow up. I'll show you a wonderful promise. You must remember that all your life. David was a man after God's own heart. 7:42 Most of the psalms he wrote when he was a very young man. When he was 27, 28 years old, he wrote psalms. When he was running from Saul, when he was running from Saul, before he became 30 years old, he was writing psalms. 8:06 Imagine a man writing scripture when he's only 28 years old. That shows that even today, you can be 25, 26 years old and you can be a man, and you can be a woman of God. 8:29 But there's one psalm that David wrote when he was nearly dying, when he was nearly 70 years old. There's a very old man, he wrote that psalm. That is psalm 37. 8:50 And in psalm 37, he writes this as an old man. And he says in verse 1, don't fret because of evil doers and don't be envious towards wrong doers. Verse 4, 9:12 Delight yourself in the Lord. He will give you the desires of your heart. You commit your way to the Lord. Verse 5, Trust in Him. He'll do it. And even if people accuse you falsely, 9:32 verse 6, God will bring forth your righteousness one day into the light. So, verse 7, Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. 9:52 And then he says, verse 25, once I was young, now I'm an old man. But I have never seen a righteous man forsaken. I've never seen his descendants begging for bread. 10:14 He says, In all my life, I have never seen God forsaking a righteous man. And his descendants means his children and grandchildren 10:34 will not beg for bread. If they don't have a job, they'll have to beg for bread. So, the meaning of this verse is, the righteous man's children will get jobs and the righteous man's grandchildren will get jobs. 10:59 That is how I translate it in today's language. If you want your children to get jobs and your grandchildren to get jobs, be a righteous person today. God will give them food, clothing, and a house. 11:22 And God will also give them good husbands and wives. He can do it. We must trust him. If he feeds the birds. So, Matthew 6, three times Jesus said, 11:43 about the needs of your body. Verse 25, don't be anxious. Verse 31, don't be anxious. Verse 34, don't be anxious. Three times. Another thing 12:04 that he kept on saying is, don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be afraid. When the disciples were afraid, the boat will sink, he said, don't be afraid. When they saw him walking on the water, he said, don't be afraid, 12:23 it's me. He was always telling his disciples, don't be anxious, don't be afraid. You know, you and I need to hear that word today. The same God who said, don't commit adultery, 12:43 Don't murder, don't steal. Do you take those commands seriously? Don't murder, don't commit adultery, don't steal. same God said, 13:04 don't be anxious, don't be afraid. Is it equally important? As the other commands? Sometimes we think, I'm anxious, that is not a sin, it is a weakness. It is not a weakness, 13:30 it is a sin, because I'm saying, God, I cannot trust you. It's like a little boy telling his father and mother, I cannot trust you, you will not feed me. Many of you are fathers and mothers. 13:55 Supposing your four-year-old child comes to you, he says, mommy, I cannot trust you. I think you will make me starve to death. How will you feel? He'll say, son, you don't trust me. 14:15 I'll give my life for you. What an insult it is to tell our heavenly father, you may allow me to starve to death. Or, you may allow our children to starve to death. 14:36 God is our father. If evil fathers know how to give good things to their children, how much more our heavenly father will give? Have you heard the story of the two birds? Maybe I said it before. 14:58 One bird tells another bird, why are these human beings always so worried and anxious about so many things? Always they're worried. So the other bird replies, Ah, maybe they don't have 15:20 a heavenly father like we have. When the birds see you anxious about something, you think, what are they saying to each other? Ah, you see that lady there? 15:42 You see that man? Poor people. They don't have a father like we have. What a sad thing if the birds will say that about us and we are the children of God. I'm not telling you 16:05 something imaginary. Jesus said it. Your heavenly father feeds them. He is not their heavenly father. He's not the father of those birds. he's only their creator. 16:27 But he feeds them. But us, he's our father. How will he not take care of us? So, you must believe that God is interested in our bodily needs. 16:51 He's not only interested in forgiving our sins. He's interested in our bodily needs. When we are sick, what should we do? What does the Bible say? There is a verse in the Bible 17:12 for everything. If you don't have food or clothing, what should you do? Say, Father, you take care of the birds, take care of me. When you are sick, 17:33 and sickness, come to all of us. Because we are living in a world which is under a curse. And until we get the resurrection body of the coming of Christ, sickness will come. 17:53 In the goodness of God, he has created so many plants and minerals which are like medicines that can heal us. you know all these tablets that 18:14 doctors give you, what are they? They are some minerals and plants which God has created in the earth which people have found out this cures this disease. man did not make those minerals. 18:36 Man found the minerals and put it into a tablet so that we can easily eat it. But who created it? God! Why did he create those minerals and plants? Because he knew that man will be sick. He needs that for curing him. 18:58 So we can use medicines and they are like food. It's like food. Medicine is just like taking food. If you don't eat food, how can you be strong? Some people say no, I won't take medicine, I will trust the Lord. 19:19 That is foolish like saying I won't eat food, God will give me strength. God has created the food and God has created the medicine. But see it says here James chapter 5 verse 14 19:41 Is anyone among you sick? James 5 verse 14 What should you do? Let him call for the elders of the church and let them come and pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 20:06 Now, don't go to the elders every time you have a cough or a cold or a fever. Because then the elders will have no time to pray for anything. You got little pain in the hand, you go to the elders. 20:27 You get a little headache, you go to the elders. What is it saying? Read carefully. Let him call for the elders of the church. Not let him go to the elders of the church. What is the difference? Let him go to 20:47 the elders and let him call for the elders. What is that difference? Let him go to the elders means he's healthy. He can walk up to the elders. He's not so seriously sick. He can pray for himself. Let him call 21:08 for the elders means the guy is lying in bed at home. He can't walk. Dear elder brother, I can't even walk. Please come and pray for me. If you read the Bible carefully, you know he's not talking about every cough and cold and 21:27 headache. If you are really seriously sick that you can't even get out of your bed. Call the elders and say please come and pray for me. 21:47 And the elders must pray in faith. It's not your faith. Elder's faith. Some preachers say you don't have faith that is why you are not healed. The prayer is offered by the elders and if their prayer is in faith, the 22:07 person will be healed. Some elders have more faith, some have less faith. But before that, it says in verse 16, 22:27 you must confess your sin, and then pray and you'll be healed. Because when you confess your sin, then you become righteous. Then the righteous man's prayer, verse 16, has got tremendous power. 22:48 if there is sin in your life, then you're unrighteous, your prayer has no value. psalm 66 in verse 18. psalm 66 in verse 18. 23:10 If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. so what we read there in James is that sometimes the sickness is due to a sin. So, we must 23:32 confess our sin so that the sickness can be healed. So, whenever you're sick, it's good to ask God first. Lord, is there any sin in my life? Show me. 23:53 I pray like that even if I have a little fever and I'm lying in bed one day. Lord, show me. Did I do something wrong this last one week? Did I speak one rude word to somebody? 24:14 Please show me. Did I have some pride in my heart that I did not discover? In some situation, did I love some money somewhere? And the Lord will show me. Last week, on so-and-so 24:35 date, we were speaking to so-and-so. Then I say, Lord, I'm sorry. I want to confess my sin. And I'm thankful I got light on that sin. I become more pure and next time I'm more careful. 24:59 And then I can be healed. whenever, even if I have a fever or headache, I say, Lord, what are you trying to say to me? Sometimes it may not be sin. many years ago, I rode a scooter, I 25:19 used to ride a scooter for about forty-five years. And by God's grace, I never hit anybody or hurt anybody. But once or twice somebody else came and hit me. And I got thrown off the scooter. 25:41 by God's grace, nothing was broken. Little injury, little scratch in the leg or something. So, again I pray, Lord, why this accident? And the Lord says, you should not drive so 26:01 fast. go little slowly. Thank you, Lord. And that I tell all of you, nowadays, if you're driving a scooter and all, don't drive too fast. because the 26:22 traffic has become so bad now everywhere. So, I believe God told me to slow down, gave me a small accident to save me from a bigger accident in the future. Because I was in the 26:42 military, I learned to drive fast everywhere. So, God has to tell me to slow down. Sometimes God gives you some practical advice like that. Oh, you know, working, working, working, working so hard and God 27:03 says, you need to go to, take a little rest and go to sleep now. He tells me that also sometimes. He tells me also that. So, whenever you have any problem, ask the Lord, Lord, why is this? What are you trying to tell 27:25 me? It may not be a sin. It may be just a better way, a way of wisdom God will show you. I want to tell you, God basically wants us to be healthy and not sick. 27:50 And he will give us grace for that. So, I'll tell you the promises that I claim for myself whenever I'm sick. and when I travel a lot and my health is suffering, I 28:10 ask God these are the promises I claim. I want to share it with you. 1 Corinthians chapter 6. You know, because sometimes people think that God is 28:31 only interested in our heart and our spirit. He's also interested in our body. So, sickness is a very big problem among all believers. And many 28:51 people say in the church nobody is telling us about what is the, is there any healing for God's people? The Pentecostals are always speaking healing, healing, healing and nobody is being healed there. there are as 29:11 many sick people there as in our midst also. So, a lot of it is deception. That is just to collect money from people. Don't be deceived by all that. You know, I hear these Pentecostal preachers preaching on television. 29:34 They are deceiving people. What do they say? I have heard some of them. Christian TV program in India. In many languages. God can do any miracle. He can open blind eyes. This is what they preach on 29:54 television. He can raise the dead. He can open deaf ears. He'll heal cancer. He'll let you see. He can do any miracle. There is only one miracle he cannot do. 30:15 He cannot give us money. So, you please give us the money. What is this? God can do every miracle only money you have to give? and when you hear that, can't you see that guy is a deceiver? 30:38 it's a lie. And I remember once somebody interviewed me on one of these TV programs and they asked me what I thought about all this. so I said something like 30:58 this. So that Christian TV program got so angry they told that man if you interview Zach Pullen again we will not allow you to have a program here. They don't like the truth being exposed. 31:21 So you know we need to have a balanced understanding of healing. I told you 80% of sicknesses are not due to sin. it's because we are living in a 31:41 world under the curse. And that is why we die also. Believers also die. Jesus can raise the dead. But every day believers are dying all over the world. That is because of the 32:01 curse that is on the earth from the time of Adam. we cannot have perfect healing. If I had perfect healing I would have hair on my head. This is also a small sickness 32:21 when the hair falls off. And I will not be wearing glasses. That is also a sickness. But some of these people who preach healing they are wearing glasses. and some of them don't have hair also. 32:43 It's all a deception. So many sicknesses are because we are living in a world under the curse. What did God tell Adam? You are going to sweat in your brow. 33:06 See that's happening to me right now. That's not because I'm sinning. It is because we are living in a world under the curse we perspire. In heaven I will not perspire. There 33:26 I will get a perfect body. So when we are in this world the curse is there still touching our body. It cannot touch our spirit because Jesus has taken that curse on the cross. 33:49 My spirit is redeemed but my body is not yet redeemed. One day when Jesus comes my body will also be redeemed that I will never be sick. I will have hair on my head and it will all be black hair 34:09 no white hair. I will not wear glasses in heaven but that is in the future. But on this earth thank God that we can get medicines thank God we can wear glasses even though 34:29 there are these small small weaknesses in our body God helps us. We can also ask in prayer for healing. First of all confess your sins. Because like I told you 20% of sicknesses 34:50 among believers I think are due to sin only. that means they haven't forgiven somebody or they are always anxious anxious anxious and their stomach has problems. 35:10 So we must cast our burdens on the Lord forgive everybody and ask God to heal us. And here are the promises. There are three verses in 1 Corinthians 6 that have helped me a lot. See 35:30 what it says here in 1 Corinthians 6 and verse 13. This is the first promise. The last part of verse 13. The body is not for immorality but for the Lord. 35:52 The body is for the Lord and the Lord is for the body. Did you get it? Did you understand it? My body is for the Lord and the Lord is for my body. 36:16 The body is not for immorality it says here. That means I say Lord this body is not for immorality. These eyes are not for lusting after women. 36:37 These eyes are not for reading dirty stories. It's not for watching dirty movies. It is not for immorality. it is not for watching filthy pictures on the computer. 37:02 Can you take that decision first? Will you take it now all of you young people? Older people also? My body from today is not for immorality. I 37:23 will not commit immorality with my eyes or my hands. I will not go and touch a woman who is not my wife. My body is not for immorality. My eyes 37:43 do not want to look at immorality. But my body is for the Lord. I want to use my eyes to read the Bible. I don't want to use my tongue to speak evil. I want to encourage others. 38:07 That is what you have to do. If you do that here is what the Lord will do. The Lord is for the body. You know sometimes people go to a court and sign a contract. Both people sign. 38:28 Contract means I will do this you will do this. So if I don't do this then you won't do that. If both sign both must do it otherwise the contract is broken. Here is a contract. 38:50 My body is not for immorality. My body is for the Lord. The Lord says okay I sign. I am for your body. I say Lord that's wonderful. You will be for my body. 39:11 That's wonderful that whenever I have a problem I can say Lord I am not using my body for immorality. I am not even using my eyes for any morality. it is only for you. 39:31 I am not even using my body to live for myself. It is for you. Therefore I believe you keep your part of the contract. Lord Jesus you are for my body. 39:52 According to 1 Corinthians 6 13 I claim it in the name of Jesus Christ. I am not telling you some theory. I have practiced this for many years. 40:14 By the grace of God. Then secondly verse 15 here is the second promise. Your body is a member of Jesus Christ. I knew that my spirit is a part of Jesus Christ. 40:39 because that is written here. Verse 17 The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with him. That I know. But this is another truth that my body is also a member of Jesus Christ. 41:01 Not only my spirit. I knew many years ago that my spirit was one with Christ. But I did not know that my body is also a member of Christ. I say Lord if my body is a member of Christ then please 41:21 keep it healthy. Third promise or statement verse 19 your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. What is the 41:41 church? It's not a building. Body this is the real church. Where does God dwell? God does not dwell in the Beersheba building. No. God does not dwell 42:01 in any building. Your body is the house of God. God dwells in you. In the Old Testament he dwelt in a building. Not today. When the people come into that building Jesus is 42:22 there. When the people go away from the building Jesus is not there. It's a wrong understanding that one building is the house of God. This is the house of God. 42:44 Will you go and break the doors and windows in a church building? No. Then we should not do any practice that spoils this body also. If you drink alcohol that 43:05 is destroying this body. That is like breaking the windows in a church building. When you drink alcohol you are destroying this body. Or you smoke cigarettes. 43:27 That is destroying this body. God did not create this body for inhaling and exhaling smoke. Because if he wanted to do that he would have made our nose point upwards so that 43:47 smoke can go up. You like the chimneys always the chimneys are pointing up. So if God wanted us to smoke the nose would have been up like this. 44:08 God doesn't want you to smoke. you're destroying your lungs. You must not have habits that destroy your body. Even if you eat too much and become fat and fat and fat that is destroying your body. 44:34 You must control how much you eat. If you do all that and then say Lord heal me that is like the devil telling Jesus jump off the temple and say Lord protect me. 44:57 Don't do something foolish and say Lord heal me. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So what should you do? verse 20 You were bought with a price so glorify God in your 45:17 body. So we must glorify God in our body. Then there's one more promise that I claim when I am sick. Hebrews and chapter 6 45:37 Now this is not speaking about healing but Hebrews chapter 6 tells us in one verse the characteristics of a born again person. 45:58 I'm not talking about the whole passage just two verses. So verse 4 and 5 I'm not looking at the verse before that or after that. Here are the marks of a truly born again person. 46:21 Hebrews 6 4 He is enlightened. That means some light has come into his dark heart. before we are born again our heart is dark but now we 46:41 are enlightened. It means light has come inside. It's the first mark of a born again person. Secondly He has tasted the heavenly gift. God has given us the gift of forgiveness 47:01 of sins. That is a gift. It is not an earthly gift. It is a heavenly gift. We have tasted it. We know our sins are forgiven. We have tasted Jesus Christ. 47:22 Then thirdly when we are born again we are made partakers of the Holy Spirit. Everybody who is born again has the Holy Spirit. He may not be filled with the Holy Spirit but 47:43 he has the Holy Spirit. That is another confusion with some people. I want to remove that confusion. See Romans chapter 8 verse 9. The last part. if anyone does not have the Spirit of 48:03 Christ he does not even belong to him. It's so clear. Romans 8 9. The Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit. If you don't have the Holy Spirit you are not even born again. 48:24 You may not be filled with the Holy Spirit. That you have to pray and ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. But that we must pray every day. I pray every day to Lord fill me with the Holy Spirit. But I received the Holy 48:42 Spirit way more than 50 years ago when I was born again. It's like this. If my heart is like a house of ten rooms and one room is called the room of guilt because of my former 49:02 sins. I say Lord Jesus please come and remove the guilt of my sins. You say Lord Jesus come into my heart. Same thing. 49:23 Who comes into your heart? Have you thought about that? Jesus is in heaven at the right hand of the Father. How can he come into your heart? He is there. He comes by his Spirit. That's the Holy 49:43 Spirit. So when you ask Jesus to come into your heart, his Spirit comes in. The Holy Spirit comes in. That is the Spirit of Christ. He is one part of the Trinity. You can say Christ has come in. 50:04 Or you can say the Holy Spirit has come in. Same thing. Now there are nine other rooms in your heart. Those are dark. Spirit has come inside. But he's not filling all the rooms. 50:24 Why? Because you don't allow him to come. And he will not force his way into the other rooms. He knocks at the door. This television room, Jesus says, can I come there? Can I 50:46 control that television remote? and you say, Lord, please don't come there. I want to watch certain things. Don't come to that room. You can go to the other rooms, but television room is my room. 51:06 Because you may not like some of the things I see there. Okay, the Lord says, I won't come. That room remains dark. Okay. Can I look at your library? Another room? 51:28 Can I see what all books and magazines you read? What all DVDs you have? say, Lord, please don't come to that room that there are many things you may not like. The Lord says, I will not come. 51:50 Now, can I go to your finances room? Can I check up your passbook, see how you're getting your money and how you're spending it? See, everything is righteous. Say, Lord, please don't come there. we are 52:10 living in this world, we have to do certain wrong things only, then only we can live. I don't always spend money in the right way. I don't want you to control all that. 52:31 So, like that we close so many rooms. fill fill me with the Holy Spirit. He says, I'm trying to come inside but you won't let me inside. How can I fill all the rooms if you don't open the door? 52:54 If you open the door of every heart to Jesus, you'll be filled with the Holy Spirit. that is just to clarify the difference between having the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit. If you 53:14 allow every room of your heart open to Christ, you'll be filled with the Holy Spirit. You'll be a very powerful Christian. And you'll be a very happy Christian. 53:34 Let's go back to Hebrews 6 verse 4. The marks of a born again person. Number one, enlightened. Number two, he's tasted the heavenly gift. Number three, he's partaken of the Holy 53:54 Spirit. Number four, he has tasted the good word of God. That is another mark of a born again person. He may not have understood everything in the word. That may take 20-30 54:14 years. But he has tasted this good word of God. He has experienced its promises and obeyed its commands. not fully but little bit. He's tasted and 54:34 number five, that's the last one. He has tasted the powers of the age to come. See, there are some powers which we don't have in this age, only in the future age. 54:56 What are some of those powers of the future age? There are many wonderful things in the future age. Here is one of those wonderful things we are going to have in the future age. Philippians 3 verse 55:17 20 and 21 Philippians 3 verse 20 and 21 Our citizenship is in heaven. From there we are eagerly waiting for the Savior the Lord Jesus Christ to come. 55:39 when he comes what will he do? Look at verse 21 He will transform this body of our humble state into conformity with the body of his glory. 56:04 Now our body is a humble state. it's weak it's sick so many weaknesses and as we get older we become more and more weak our eyes become weak our memory 56:26 becomes weak our heart becomes weak our body becomes we can't lift so much weight now but when he comes he will transform this body and make it exactly like his powerful resurrection body that 56:50 is a power I shall taste in the age to come I will fully have this power in this body but Hebrews 6 5 says I can taste a 57:10 little bit of that power now did you understand that I can't have it fully now I cannot have the resurrection body of Jesus Christ now I can taste a little bit of it that 57:30 taste is called healing so when I'm sick I say Lord please give me one drop in the spoon one drop of your resurrection body I 57:52 don't want a full teaspoon one drop of this powers of the age to come because it says here I can taste I can't have it fully but I can taste it that's wonderful 58:13 I can taste not only my body in other areas also for example to worship God most Christians do not know how to worship God to 58:35 worship God is to bow down and give everything to Him and to say to the Lord Jesus Lord I desire nothing on earth but you that is 58:56 worship if you don't say that even if you spend two hours on your knees on Sunday you are not worshiping God some people just kneel down and their mind is wandering all over the world and they think we are worshiping God 59:18 no you worship God when you tell Jesus Lord I desire nothing on the world but you if I have you that's enough I don't need anything but I can taste the worship the angels are doing in heaven I can taste a 59:38 little bit of it now one day I'll be able to stand in the presence of Jesus glory and see it but now I can have a little taste of it and 59:59 we wait upon the Lord you can get a little taste of that wonderful glory we will see fully one day and the closer we get to God the closer we get to God we can taste that glory more 1:00:19 and more so that is another verse I claim Lord I'm not asking for a resurrection body now but I'm asking for one drop a taste of that resurrection 1:00:39 body I want healing when I'm weak Lord give me a taste of that so I can be strong sometimes in Bangalore the meeting time that day maybe I'm sick and 1:01:01 I say it's time for the meeting I've got to get up and go but I've got a fever but I ask the Lord for a taste of this resurrection power and I go to the meeting and 1:01:22 I sit there and I get up and speak and by the time I come home I'm healed because I tasted a little bit of that resurrection power so I want to encourage all of you to know 1:01:42 one thing God is a good God he's more powerful than the devil he loves you and if sometimes he does not heal you then we have an answer in 2nd Corinthians 12 9 where 1:02:03 Paul prayed three times and he was
