Because this is the only book in the whole world 0:21 that we can be absolutely sure inspired by God and every word is true. And I can testify having from having read and studied this book for 67 years. It has changed my life. 0:40 It's changed my family life. It's changed my relationships with people. It has solved many of my problems. It's taught me that if I seek God's kingdom first, everything I need on earth will be added to me. And I've proved it 0:57 in my life. I've tried my best in these 67 years to put God's kingdom and his righteousness first in my life. I can't think of anytime in these 67 years where I did not do that. But I found God's promise to be true. 1:17 And like I said the other day, we don't want the birds who are fed by the Father in heaven to wonder why we don't trust the Father like they do. And the birds should not put us to shame. 1:33 He cares for them and he cares for us. I [clears throat] believe that those who I found many Christians they don't read the Bible regularly. They have all types of problems. The answers are there, but won't seek it. And they miss out on so much in life. 1:51 We don't go to the Bible just to get a solution to our problems. We go to the Bible to find out how God wants us to live on this earth. We have only one life. And when you compare our even if you live 100 years, you compare that with eternity, which is 2:08 millions and millions of years, it's like a drop in the ocean. And it's just in this small period of life that we have that God says, "Your eternal destiny is dependent on how you live now." Not just whether you go to heaven or 2:26 hell, that's the first step only. That we if our sins are not forgiven, we cannot enter in God's presence because heaven is a holy place. No one can enter there whose sins are not completely blotted out. And the only opportunity we have that for that is 2:43 here on this earth. And the punishment for our sin is so intense that none of us can bear it. It's eternal eternity in hell. And that's exactly what Jesus suffered in the last 3 hours on the cross. When he was forsaken by the Father, that 2:59 is eternity in hell that he experienced in those 3 hours. And if I can accept that, all he asks us is to repent, turn from our sinful ways, and believe that he took my punishment, I can be free and receive him as my Lord and my 3:18 savior. He wants the place of the head in our home in our life and in our home. So, in the body, you know, the head is the part the brain is what controls the whole body. And that's the place that Christ wants to have in our life. 3:33 Why would we not want to yield to him when he desires the best for us? And if we give our life to him, he plan our life far better. And I've certainly proved that in my own life that also. Every year in my life God has planned 3:51 perfectly. Our life will be healthier. Our mind will be more at rest. We sleep better at night. All these things I can tell you from my own testimony. And you won't be the richest person in the world, but you'll always have enough to meet 4:07 your needs. So, it's the best life anybody can live. And the devil has blinded people to think that the Lord is a very demanding God who harasses us. No earthly father loves us like Jesus and our heavenly father loves us. 4:26 So, I can't understand why any person would not surrender them completely to Christ. Not just to go to heaven. I don't believe we should give our life to Christ to go to heaven. We love him because he first loved us. So, it's a love relationship. 4:45 Today, I want to speak on two mysteries. There's a word called mystery that comes in the New Testament that is never found in the Old Testament. So, it must be something special. This There's a mystery of iniquity and uh Jesus spoke about mystery in relation 5:04 to the parables he spoke. But among all the mysteries, there are two which are called great mysteries in the New Testament. So, a mystery is some is a a special truth of God which can be understood only by divine 5:22 revelation. That means if you have a hunger to know, God will explain it to you. I can tell you the elements of it, but that'll only come into your mind. But if you want revelation in your heart and spirit, you have to seek God 5:41 and say, "Lord, make this clear to me." So, there are two mysteries in the Bible which are called great mysteries. A mystery means as I said a secret that God reveals to us by divine revelation through the Holy Spirit. So, be open to hear and understand what 5:57 God is saying. First of all, in 1 Timothy and chapter 3 1 Timothy chapter 3 >> [clears throat] >> and verse 16 By common confession 6:19 great is the mystery of godliness. Or as some other translations put it the way to live a holy life is a secret. And I'm sure we all have discovered that is not known easily. 6:37 The way to live a godly life is a secret that God reveals. And the answer is found in Christ who came in the flesh and was proved pure in his spirit. He was seen by angels who observed his 6:56 life. And he's proclaimed among the nations, believed in the world, and taken up to glory. So, the mystery of godliness of or as some translations put it, the secret of living a holy life is found in the fact that Christ came in 7:15 the flesh. Christ came as a man. Christ came in the flesh is more than that. The word flesh can mean our physical flesh. But in the New Testament it means 7:34 the self-will that we have. So, whenever you read flesh, if it is not referring to the physical body. You know, flesh and blood. That flesh is the body. But when it speaks about put the deeds of the flesh to death, he's not speaking about the deeds of the 7:54 body. He's speaking about the thing that we do with our self-will. So, read self-will wherever you read flesh in in terms of a spiritual meaning, not a physical meaning, in the New Testament. So, the secret is that Jesus came 8:11 with a self-will. And yet, he lived a perfectly pure life without sinning. Because the essence of holiness is not to do my will in any area, but to do the will of God alone. 8:29 A truly holy person is one who never does his own will in any area, not just avoiding sin. What we know as sin, the lot of things our understanding of sin is so small. And you can avoid all sin and you think you're holy because your understanding 8:47 of sin is so small. But, the basis of all sin is doing your own will. All the clashes between husbands and wives are because both want their own will. All the clashes between human beings are each one their own will. All the clashes 9:03 between nations in war, stubborn self-will on both sides. That is what the Bible calls the flesh. Self-will. And Jesus came with a will of his own, which was something he had to deny. 9:25 And I'll tell you why. I mean, the clear- clearest example is in Garden of Gethsemane, when he prayed, "Father, if it be possible, let me not go this way." He was thinking of going to the cross. Yet, he said in Gethsemane, 9:41 "Not my will, but thy." If his will was the same as the Father, he'd have said, "I do I do my will because it's the same as yours." But he said, "Not my will, but thy." He denied his own will. 10:00 That is the secret of holiness. And the clearest example, Gethsemane is just one example, but where Jesus spoke about his entire life, there's one sentence in the Gospel of John chapter 6, 10:18 which I call the autobiography of Jesus. You know the difference between a biography and an autobiography. A biography is what where somebody else writes story of someone's life. Autobiography is where a person writes about his own life. 10:35 And how did Jesus describe his own life on Earth? In John chapter 6 and verse 38, he tells us why he came down from heaven. Now, if you ask the average Christian, I'd say 99% of even believers, why did Jesus come down from heaven? 10:53 They will all say he came to die on the cross to save us from our sins and take us to heaven. That is not what Jesus said. That's what I want you to understand. That is only a small part of what he came down on Earth for. 11:08 Here is the entire story of what he came down to Earth in one sentence. Autobiography is describing his entire 33 and 1/2 years on Earth in one sentence. John chapter 6, verse 38. "I have come down from heaven." Okay. He's telling us why he came down 11:24 from heaven. I came down from heaven not to go to the cross, not to be an example to human beings, all that may be true. All this is true that he went to the cross to die, to rise up, and to gather people, and to build the church, and you 11:38 then you could see so many things. To heal the sick, and all that. But, all of that is summed up in one statement. Please understand this. This is Jesus autobiography. I came from heaven not to do my own will, which I told you 11:54 that's the flesh. Never to yield to my flesh. Not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me at every single step, every single second of his life. This is Jesus autobiography. This is how he lived from the time he was born 12:12 till the time he died on the cross. So, he did not say I came from heaven to die on the cross. That was one part of not my will, but God's will. Healing the sick, not my will, but God's will. Preaching the Sermon on the Mount, 12:28 not my will, God's He came from heaven never to do his own will for a single second. Always to do the will of the Father. And that's why he had to say, "Not my will, but thine. I came from heaven not to do my own will." 12:45 Now, if his will was exactly in line with the Father's all the time, he could have said, "I've come from heaven to do my own will." Because it is the same as my Father's will. That sentence should have read differently. "I've come from heaven to 12:55 do my own will because it is the same as the will of him who sent me." He came with a will that could say no to the Father. Otherwise, he would not have been like us. Otherwise, he would have been, if we imagine, like many foolish Christians 13:13 believe because they don't read the Bible, that Jesus will was just same with the Father, then I would say he was a robot. You know how with computers and all, they program a robot, and you can make that robot do whatever you want it to 13:26 do. Because if the robot doesn't have a will of its own, it's programmed and it'll automatically go and do whatever you tell it to do. There's sin, it'll avoid sin. And it's there because you've programmed it, don't go there. 13:40 Don't lust after women. Don't tell lies. And the robot will do it. But that's not holiness. There is no holiness if your will is taken away. It's very important to understand that. Holiness comes only when you have a free 13:55 will and don't exercise it, but deny it in order to do the will of the Father. This we need to understand. This is holiness. Holiness is not just not going to dirty movies and not watching pornography and speaking the truth and 14:10 not telling lies. That's not holiness. Holiness is that I never do my own will. Because there's a corruption in my will that has come from the time of Adam. Our flesh is sinful flesh. Jesus' flesh is not sinful flesh because 14:26 he was not born of a human father. He had a human mother because he otherwise he wouldn't have a body like ours. But the father's part was done by God the Father through the Holy Spirit coming upon Mary. In that way he was different from us and 14:44 that is why we are born with sinful flesh and Jesus had no sinful flesh. Cuz then he could not have died for our sins if Jesus had sinful flesh. He is not a perfect sacrifice for our sin. He had to be born with a flesh which is of self-will. 15:02 Otherwise he'd have been a robot. I want to explain this very simply and clearly so that you never forget it because it's the secret of holiness, the mystery of godliness. Great is the mystery of godliness. He came in the flesh 15:15 and was declared pure in his spirit. If you can understand that, you see the way to live a holy life yourself because he said, "Follow me." And so, following Christ is not a question of any external thing, really. It's essentially 15:32 that I say no to my self-will every single moment. Whenever I'm Temptation is to do my own will. Holiness is to say no to my own will. Say, "Father, I want to do your will." So, holiness is here in this verse. John 6:38. To follow Jesus' footsteps 15:50 means What is Many people say, "Follow, follow, I will follow anywhere, everywhere. I will follow him." Well, if you really want to do that, John 6:38 is the answer. I'm You have to put it like this. I am born again. Jesus said, "I've come from 16:03 heaven to do not do my own will, but the will of him sent me." We say, "I'm born again never to do my own will, but the will of my heavenly father." That is holiness. And it's not just a question of avoiding dirty things and not going here and 16:22 reading the Bible and praying. No, no, no, no. That's all the results of this foundation. That I never do my own will. If you understand this, you'll understand what we call the way of the cross. Jesus said, "Take up your cross 16:40 and follow me." What is that cross? It is where my will clashes with God's will. And I die to my will. And I say, "God, Father, I'll do your will." That is the cross. To take up the cross means in every situation where I'm 16:55 tempted to do my own will, I say no. Somebody yells at me and I I know I can give him a good enough answer to shut his mouth. But the Lord says, "Shut your Keep your mouth shut." And you know, I have to die to my prestige 17:10 because I can shut this fellow up in 1 minute. I've got a cleverer reply than what he said to me. But I say no to myself. I'm not here to prove that I'm cleverer than him. I'm not here to prove that I'm smarter than him. 17:23 I'm here to prove that I'm a child of God. And I do not have strife with anybody. I seek for peace. So, I have to die to my will. And he may look at me as some stupid person who cannot give an answer. Let him think like that. I'm not I'm not 17:38 bothered about what anybody in the world thinks about me. So, I want to say that to all of you. If you are concerned about what people think about you, I can guarantee you you'll never live a holy life. That's a problem with many Christians. 17:53 They've given up sin, which they know to be sin, external things, but they've not become free from the opinions of men. They are still concerned that so-and-so should have a good opinion about me. Brother, if you're concerned that one 18:07 human being in the world should have a good opinion about you, just forget about living a holy life. Just forget about following Jesus. You'll never be able to do it. I guarantee. I'll give it to you in writing. And you'll end your life and [snorts] 18:19 wake up, if you do get to heaven, utterly disappointed that you wasted your earthly life which could have been lived for God. And when you see Jesus face-to-face, you'll be so ashamed when you see how much he sacrificed for 18:33 you and how selfishly you lived on this earth. See, it's showing our gratitude to the Lord is not by going to church and singing hymns. It's by choosing a particular way. That's how I show my gratitude to the Lord for having died for me. Take up 18:47 your cross means say no to your own will. And follow me. So, this is the secret of living a holy life. So, I want to show you a little bit about what our human personality is like so that 19:05 you can understand this better. There's one verse in the Bible which tells us what we are in our personality. Just like God is a trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three persons in one God. We are also not three persons, but three 19:23 parts of our personality. And that is found in 1 Thessalonians in chapter 5 and verse 23. It says, "May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly." That your Here are the three parts of 19:42 our our human every human being. Spirit, soul, and body be preserved complete without blame until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the one verse in the Bible which teaches us clearly what we are. Our whole being 20:02 is three parts. Spirit, soul, and body. In that sense, we are a trinity. Spirit, soul, and a lot of people know what the soul and the body is, but they know don't have a clue what the spirit is. And if you don't understand that, 20:17 uh we won't understand what holiness is. In the Old Testament, God dwelt He asked the Israelites to make a tabernacle, which is a tent in a big compound. And that was a place where God said it 20:35 is my dwelling place. And that is a picture of our human body, of our human body, soul, and spirit. And in John's Gospel chapter 1, we read about Jesus. 20:54 John's Gospel chapter 1 and verse 14. If you have a margin in your Bible, you'll read This is what it reads in the margin. And sometimes something put in the margin is this is what it said in the original Greek in which this book was written, the New 21:13 Testament. And they put some other word in here which is more easily understood. John 1:14, the word became flesh and dwelt among us. And in the margin of my Bible says the actual word is not dwelt, the actual word is tabernacled among us. 21:29 The word that is Christ came in the flesh with a self-will which he denied constantly and tabernacled among us. And we saw his glory. And in the Old Testament tabernacle, the fire of God was on top of that showing the glory. So I want to show you a 21:47 picture of the Old Testament tabernacle here. See, that's a picture of the Old Testament tabernacle. It had three parts. The outer court, which is like a compound covered by curtains. And at this entrance, at the eastern 22:06 side was an entrance. You would enter facing the western. There was a reason for that so that they would not face the sun. They would should not be worshipers of the sun. The sun was behind them. So this is the eastern entrance. They face 22:20 the western as they enter the tabernacle. And the tabernacle had three parts. One is the outer compound, we can say, visible to everybody, picture of our body visible to everyone. And then there was a tent covered which had two parts 22:39 called the holy place and there was a curtain which blocked off the most holy place corresponding to soul and spirit. So the tabernacle was an exact picture. They didn't understand it then which you understand now. When it says 22:56 the word became flesh and tabernacled among us that's exactly it. Body soul and spirit. And you know that there was a thick curtain between the holy place and the most holy place. And nobody could enter there. It was in the most holy place that God 23:15 dwelt in His power. And the fire of God would be on that over the that back part of the Tabernacle tent, which is symbolizing the presence of God in the most holy place. Not in the holy place or the outer court. And there was a thick curtain, and 23:34 nobody except the priest was allowed to go high priest was allowed to go once a year into that most holy place. And it was symbolizing that you cannot go into God's presence. We're all sinners. You're Um you cannot go into God's presence. 23:49 The high priest was allowed to go once in a year with a offering for a sin and present it and come out. If he didn't follow the rules, he'd die. Even if he's a high priest, he walked in there, he'd die. And now that corresponding in our body 24:04 is, you see here on the right side, body, soul, and spirit, corresponding to outer court, holy place, and most holy place. Now you see here the diagrammatic picture of what we saw. Here is the outer court. 24:24 And uh never mind all those other altars and levers there. But the holy place and the most holy place, there's a curtain. And they couldn't go inside there. And that is the place where God dwelt. Now the significance of this is here. 24:44 You read in the Bible that when Jesus died on the cross, that curtain was rent in two from top to bottom. Means it is what God did. Something happened on the cross. And the way was opened 25:02 to go into the most holy place. And now we can go in and live there all the time. There's a lot of truth in the symbolism. So, look on the other side. Our body, we know what it is. Our five senses in our body. 25:21 But in the in our soul, this our what soul consists of is mind, emotions, and will. You see that on the right. That's our soul. And beyond that is a spirit. Mind is what we understand with when we 25:40 put into our mind a an understanding. Emotions is our feeling. But the will is the most important part of our life. That is what has to be denied. Not my will. You can understand everything about Christianity in the mind. And then there are 25:57 Christians who get excited about Christianity and sing and shout and raise their hands and all that. That's emotion. You're still not spiritual. You can understand everything in the Bible. It's got to do with the mind. You 26:09 don't get into the most holy place into the spirit until your will is yielded. The curtain that has to be rent is your will. The rending of the curtain is not my will, but thine. Then you can get into the most holy place. So, it's very important to 26:24 understand that. That mind and emotions, you can be you can understand everything with your mind about Christianity. And you can be stirred in your emotions about Christianity is still soul. And you don't become spiritual. 26:42 A lot of people think they are. And they you know, continue for some time and fall into sin. They backslide. This all this backsliding is because they haven't understood that the essence of Christianity is yielding your will. 26:53 Many people think if I'm stirred in my emotions and I understand everything in my mind I'm spiritual. No, it's still in the soul. There's something has to be rent, a curtain has to be rent in your life. You have to walk the way, or I rather 27:06 put it like this, you got to walk the way of the rent curtain. And to enter into the life in the spirit. Now, this is not just a theory. I mentioned this and I'll tell you in practical terms what it means. Jesus said, "Not my will, but thine." 27:22 That is the rending of the veil. So, for 33 and 1/2 years on earth, he was tempted in every point as we are. Turn with me uh Hebrews chapter 4, we read that Jesus 27:40 became like us. Verse Hebrews 4:15 is a very important verse. That when he came to earth, he came exactly like us and he can sympathize with our weakness. I'm not talking about physical weakness. 27:58 The weakness of our self, of our flesh which prevents us from doing God's will. That weakness. We are very weak to do God's will. We're very strong to do our own will. That is the weakness spoken of and Jesus can sympathize with our weakness because 28:12 he came with a will like ours. But he denied it and he was tempted in all things as we are. This is what many Christians have not understood and let me tell you this. I was a Christian for born again Christian for 16 years 28:30 before I understood this. But when I understood this and I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, two things. The baptism in the Holy Spirit and understanding what I call the way through the flesh. I understood what it is to be spiritual. 28:44 My life was changed like that. And then I look as I look back over the last 50 years, it's been progress all the time spiritually. Because I understood this mystery. It's a great mystery. It's the mystery of godliness. Christ came in the flesh 29:03 and lived a holy life. That is the secret of how to live a holy life. And that's why you know you hear so many exhortations in the church and you try to obey them, try to obey them and you keep it for a while and then you fall 29:16 away and keep it for a while. What Why is it? You haven't understood the secret. The great mystery of how to live a godly life. You have to look at Jesus. The secret is to look unto Jesus and follow his example. And so it says here that he was tempted 29:32 in all things as we are yet did not sin. Not just tempted in all things, but tempted in all things exactly as we are. Whatever temptation you're facing, Christ has faced it. The reason he had to live for 33 and a half years on earth is because he had to 29:51 cover the entire range of all temptations that every human being has ever faced. I'm not talking about all circumstances. Jesus didn't live like a beggar on the street. He didn't face those circumstances. The same temptations. 30:07 Every single temptation that And basically the temptations are to do my own will and not God's will. And every area where a man could do his own will and not God's will, Jesus was tempted. Sin was to do his own will. Holiness was to do God's will. 30:25 So here's Let's take an example. Here was Jesus tempted to do his own will in some situation. But he denied it and did God's will. He overcame. And let me take a simple example. It's not just in obvious areas of sin like 30:41 Was Jesus tempted to look at a woman in lust? Yes, otherwise he was not tempted like us. He He looked When he was tempted, he turned his eyes away immediately. Not even a fraction of a second. That's That's displeasing to God. That's my 30:53 will. I will not do my will. I'll do the Father's will. That's just one example. Or anything that he was tempted with. When somebody slapped him on the face to get irritated with him. That's a temptation. And he said, "No. I will not do my own 31:08 will. I will do the Father's will. I'll forgive him." And it was like that in every temptation that he ever faced. And he went through the entire range of temptation. And he overcame He was without sin. And now he says to us, 31:25 "Take up your cross." What does it mean to take up your cross? In very simple terms, say no to your own will, which wants to lust after a woman, which wants to tell lies, which wants to argue back. That is your will. Say no to it. 31:41 And whatever it is, when you're tempted to tell a lie to escape from a difficult situation, or when you're tempted to fight for your rights, say no. Jesus never fought for his rights. And if we live like that, we will be holy. 32:00 And we need a power to do it. And that's why we need the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That is the power. It's not enough to know the way. I I need strength to go this way. I need strength to say no to my own will. I can't do it on my own. 32:18 It's not by determination or by yoga and all these alternate methods that man has discovered. It doesn't work. It's only in before the eyes of men they pretend to be like that. But sin is an inward thing. It's not just saying no to 32:33 my own will in something external. What about the inner attitudes? For example, I have a wrong attitude towards someone which nobody can see. It's in It's not like looking and lusting in pornography or telling a lie which are all outward. What about inner 32:47 attitudes towards somebody? Even towards your wife or your husband or someone in the church, a wrong attitude. No one can see what your attitude is. But one who follows in Jesus' footsteps denies himself. Lord, I will not think like that. 33:05 Because that's not the way God wants me to think. I'll do the Father's will and I need the power of the Holy Spirit. And that's why he says in Romans and chapter 8. In Romans 8, we read 33:28 Romans 8, verse 11. If you're living according to the flesh, doing your own will, let me read it like that. If you're living according to do you doing your own will all the time, you will die. You must die. But if through the power of the Holy 33:47 Spirit, you put to death these deeds of the body, which come out through your self-will, you will live. So, there's a choice here. Either you die or you live. So, if you live according to the flesh, 34:05 you will die. But if you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. And that is taking up the cross. So, now you understand what taking up the cross is. It is when I'm tempted to do what my conscience tells me that's wrong. 34:22 It's a wrong attitude you have to towards that person. What you're planning to do is a sinful thing, displeasing to God, and you immediately say, "I'm not going to do it." You have denied your own will. You're on the pathway to holiness. 34:37 And if you walk that way consistently, sometimes the temptation can be very strong. But God has a promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13. He will never allow me to be tempted beyond my ability. And it's not just 34:55 in obviously sinful things. I've sometimes used this example. When Jesus is a 12-years-old or 13, 14-years-old, playing games with the other children in Nazareth, it's outside his home, somewhere in a field, something like 35:12 the equivalent of soccer or cricket or whatever it is he was playing there, usually with a bat and a ball or something. Let's say he used some game like baseball he was playing out there. And his turn comes to bat. And you know that's what everybody looks 35:28 forward to. My turn has come to bat. And at that moment his mom calls him from the Mary calls him from the home saying, "Jesus, come here." And it's his turn to bat. What did he do? He dropped the bat and said, "Folks, 35:48 sorry. Mommy's calling me." And all the other boys will say, "Oh, you You're going after your mommy." All types of things. He didn't care what they told him. He went. And mom his mother says, "There's no We run out of water. Go to 36:05 the well. Draw a bucket of water and bring it." He goes, draws a bucket of water, brings it to his his the his team's turn is over. And they're all blaming him. See, "Miss We missed something. We Because you didn't do your 36:22 game, you ran off listening to mommy." Yeah, it was a bit shameful thing. The very few Christians who would do it. There're very few parents who teach their children to be so instantly obedient. When you say Jesus never sinned, 36:37 if he had not listened to his mother that day, just one thing, he would have sinned. He would not have been a perfect sacrifice for us on the cross. For 33 and a half years, he lived in such diligent obedience, never doing his 36:52 own will. That will was crucified. That veil was rent. And that is the symbolism when Jesus died on the cross, the veil was rent from the top to bottom, saying the way into the most holy place is open now. What is that way? It's the way of death 37:10 to self-will. Now, turn to Hebrews in chapter 10. This is a great mystery. No, it's very simple when I explain it to you, but you'll discover in practical life it is a secret. It doesn't seem to work in your life because you're not 37:25 willing to yield your will. So, in Hebrews chapter 10, we read, brethren, verse 19, we have confidence to enter the most holy place. This is referring to that third part, which is the corresponds to our spirit. 37:43 You know, body, soul, and spirit. The place where God dwells. God doesn't dwell in our body or in our soul. He dwells in our spirit, which is inside our body. And that is the in last part of that tabernacle. And the veil, the will has to be torn. 37:59 Not my will, but thine. That's what opens the way into the life in the spirit. So, life in the spirit doesn't come by singing emotional songs or by understanding the truth. That is all mind and emotion. It is when the will is 38:13 yielded and the curtain is rent, we come into God's presence. And it says here, this is called we have confidence to enter the most holy place by the blood of Jesus which has taken care of our all our past sins. That's important. 38:30 Without that we can't go in. Our past sins are taken care of by and this going through the veil is called here a new and living way. It's a new way because it was not there in the Old Testament. It's a living way because it enables us 38:44 to overcome spiritual death. Spiritual death comes through sin. So, a new and living way which Jesus inaugurated for us. You know, just like when they make a new highway newly constructed and some governor or somebody comes and 39:01 cuts a ribbon and inaugurates it. Okay, now everybody can use this highway. This is why it's called inaugurated. The way into the most holy place into God's presence through the rent veil. Jesus rent it and inaugurated a new and living way for us. 39:20 Through his flesh. It's very clear here. Through the veil which symbolized his flesh. What is his flesh? I told you in the beginning self-will. I came from heaven not to do my own will. Little by little that curtain was 39:35 ripped ripped ripped ripped ripped ripped for 33 and a half years completely every temptation he faced. Every temptation he said no to his own will, yes to the Father's will. The way was open and now he says follow me. It's not just a question of accepting 39:52 Christ as our savior and living as we like. No. It's a daily life of saying no to my own will. And if you live that life, you need the power of the Holy Spirit. You can't do it because our self-will is so strong. It's too strong. 40:10 Turn with me to Galatians chapter 5. Galatians chapter 5 read All of scripture is you'll really understand scripture now when you understand this mystery of godliness. Galatians chapter 5 verse 17 40:34 The flesh, your self-will, sets its desire against the Holy Spirit. It's not your body. Body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, but inside this body is a thing called self-will. That sets its desire against the Holy Spirit. In other words, your will is 40:48 against the will of the Holy Spirit. And this these are opposite to each other so that you may not do the you don't do the things that you want to do. But if through the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live. 41:05 That's what we read in Romans. So, that is what is called the new and living way through the flesh. And that is the way we are called to walk. This is the meaning of the new and living way. And what is the result of it? 41:20 You come right into God's presence. I want to show you a verse in Psalm in the Psalms. You know how things are in God's presence? Turn to Psalm 19. Psalm 19 41:47 and I'm sorry. It's Psalm 16. Psalm 16 in the middle of verse 11. >> [clears throat] >> Psalm 16 and verse 11 42:05 In your presence, in the Father's presence, is fullness of joy. That is a place where you will never complain, never grumble because it's a place of fullness of joy, the Father's presence. The Father's presence is on the other 42:21 side of the veil. So, if you walk the way of this rent veil called the new and living way or every day, you will never complain. You'll be able to rejoice always as it says in Philippians 4:4. Many people ask, "How can I rejoice always?" In the Father's 42:36 presence is fullness of joy. But, the way into the Father's presence is by saying no to your own will consistently. Boy, you say that's difficult. That's why you need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. That's the answer. Otherwise, you're 42:48 trying to run a car without any gas, without any petrol. How can you run? But, if your tank is full of gas, full of petrol, you can keep going. So, that is the way into the Father's presence and that is the way that the 43:01 Lord has called us to walk. And it's a wonderful life because you can live in the Father's presence every single day of your life. And it's been my tremendous joy ever since I understood this truth nearly 50 years ago. It changed the direction of my life and 43:15 that's when we planted the first CFC church based on this truth. Because it's based on this truth that we live the life and that we build the church. The church is the body of Jesus Christ and that's built on this basis. 43:33 So, I need I think you need to pray that God will give you revelation on this. Lord, help me to understand this because you may have understood in your mind. But, it takes a while for the truth to go from the mind into the spirit. 43:47 And it'll become more and more clear to you if you face a temptation now in the coming days and you know that you want to do your own will and you know that that's not God's will. And you're tremendous you find it difficult. You find it difficult for 44:01 example, a young person finds it difficult to turn his away away from turn his mind away from something tempts him to sexual lust. He needs the power of the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit will definitely help him to turn away. 44:13 He's got to seek for it earnestly. And the Holy Spirit will keep on helping him to overcome till finally he enjoys this life. He enjoys a life of perfect purity. Enjoys a life of never lusting with his eyes. Rejoicing always because he's in 44:31 the Father's presence. When you're in the Father's presence, you have such a strength to overcome temptation as well, and it becomes easier and easier and easier as you go along. My dear brothers and sisters, what is the reason why your Christian 44:45 life has been up and down, up and down, up and down? You come to a conference like this, you get all stirred up, and after 1 week, you're back down in the dumps. Because we're not walking the way. We think some emotional experience. We 44:57 think if we could only have one experience where the Spirit of God comes upon us, and that's all the problems for the rest of our life. No, it doesn't. Spirit comes to empower us so that every day we can walk this way, and it's not a 45:09 strain. The most relaxed life that any human being lived on this earth was the life that Jesus lived. He was so much at rest. We read in Luke chapter 4, there was a time when the whole they interrupted his sermon. While he 45:24 was preaching, they stopped. They stopped. And they pulled him out of maybe 200 people, pulled him out of the synagogue, and decided to throw him over the cliff just because he said that God loves the Gentiles as much as he loves the Jews. 45:38 They wanted to throw him over the cliff. And you know what it says in the next verse? Luke chapter 4, you read it sometime. Jesus quietly walked away. How in the world can you walk away when 200 people have grabbed you to throw you over a 45:51 cliff? It wasn't by a miracle that the the Father lifted him up. No. God worked there. And I have thought about it, how did it happen? Maybe some group said we should throw him over this cliff and another group said they'll 46:05 throw him over this cliff. There were three cliffs and they kept on arguing about which cliff they should throw him over and with 15 minutes by the time they look around for Jesus, he's gone. It was in a natural way that God took 46:16 him away. And God does things like that for us. I've experienced some remarkable deliverances in my life. When you walk with the Lord, he does not by supernatural events. It's just in a some amazing way and he'll do the same for you. 46:32 Dear brothers, please seek to go this way. It'll change your life. Maybe that is the reason why he brought you to this conference. So, the direction of your life will be completely different from now. Now, let's pray. Heavenly Father, 46:54 only your spirit can reveal this to us. Even if we think we have understood it in our mind. Give us revelation, Lord. Give many here who are seeking for a godly life revelation from heaven that will change the direction of their 47:08 life from today. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. >> [music]
