0:01 It's a wonderful hope that we have that Jesus is coming back. But if we read the Bible carefully, which many Christians do not do, we will discover that the hope that the Bible speaks about 0:28 is more than that Jesus is coming and we will see him. When the Bible speaks about the hope that we have, I want you to turn with me to 1 John chapter 3. 0:55 And verse 2. And like I have been saying, let's read the Bible slowly and carefully. And let's ask the Holy Spirit to give us revelation on his word. 1:21 So we're going to read slowly. Now, beloved, now we are children of God. And that is probably true of most of us here. That we have repented and received Jesus Christ as Lord of our life. 1:47 Believing in his death and resurrection. And we became children of God. That is new birth. We become babies. 2:09 Being born again as a baby is the beginning of the Christian life. A fi nascut din nou, a fi un prung, este începutul vieții creștine. Or like Hebrews 12 says, the starting line of the race. 2:30 Sau cum spune în Evrei 12, acesta este începutul alergării. But there is a finishing line. Dar este și o linie de sfârșit. Acest frung, acest fiul al lui Dumnezeu trebuie să crească și să devină un fiul al lui Dumnezeu, o fiul al lui Dumnezeu. 2:54 So, what shall we be in the future? What is the finishing line? And then it speaks about the second coming of Christ. When he appears. Când se va arăta el. When Jesus Christ appears in the sky with the sound of the trumpet. 3:13 Când va apărea Domnul Iisus pe nori, în sunetul trompetei. There are two things that will happen. Două lucruri se vor întâmpla atunci. We shall see him just as he is. Îl vom fi ca el, pentru că îl vom vedea așa cum este. 3:29 And we shall be like him. Deci, în primul rând, îl vom vedea așa cum este și în al doile rând, vom fi ca el. And then it says in verse 3, This is the hope we have. Și apoi spune în versetul 3, aceasta este nădejdea pe care o avem. 3:44 So, what is the hope? Deci care-i speranța? It's not only that we shall see him. So, to be like him means what? To have zero selfishness. Do you want to be like that? Zero selfishness. Zero pride. There was zero pride in Jesus. 5:12 What does it mean to be like him? Zero selfishness. Zero pride. But because we are selfish, even when we think of heaven, we think of selfishly. When we think of the coming of Jesus, we think selfishly. 5:35 My sorrows will be over. My sickness will be over. It's what me, me, me, what I will get in terms of physical blessing. But the Bible speaks about something greater. The hope is not that I will live in mansions and have a crown on my head. 6:01 The hope is that when I see him, I will be like him. Now, next question. So now I've shown you from verse 2 what our hope is. One of my great joys for the last 30 years is to show people in their Bible what they never read properly. 6:34 That's what God called me to do. Show my people the things they don't read in the Bible properly. Here is one thing. Our hope is not just that we see him, but that we shall also be like him. Nădejdea noastră nu este doar să-l vedem într-o zi pe Iisus, 6:53 ci că într-o zi vom fi ca el. Now I want to show you a second thing. Un al doilea lucru. Which also many of you may not have seen. Pe care de asemenea, probabil mulți l-ați observat. How do you know whether you have this hope? 7:09 How can you prove to me that you have this hope? You may say so many things. Code this verse, that verse, the other verse. How do I know that I have this hope? How can you be sure that you have this hope? 7:31 Double hope. I shall see him like he is, and I shall be like him. There is one way, the Bible says, we can prove that we have this hope. Now read carefully and slowly in the next verse. 7:55 Verse 3. Every single person who has this hope fixed on him. There is one thing that he will keep on doing every day. He will keep on purifying himself. 8:17 When will he stop? When he is as pure, verse 3, as Jesus is pure. Let's read that slowly again. Everyone who has this hope will purify himself until he becomes as pure as Jesus Christ. 8:43 Is there anybody here who has become as pure as Jesus Christ? I am the first person to raise my hand and say, I have not become like Jesus Christ. I have a long way to go to become, have zero selfishness, 9:03 zero pride. You know what it means to become like him? It means you must look at money the way Jesus looked at money. How did Jesus look at money? 9:24 Do you find him running after it? Do you find him running after it? Until you look at money the way Jesus looked at money, we have not become like him. You men, do you look at women the way Jesus looked at women? 9:47 It doesn't matter whether you are 16 years old or 75 years old. Do you look at women the way Jesus looked at women? If not, if you have this hope, you will purify yourself every day until your eyes become purer 10:11 and purer and purer and purer otherwise you don't have this hope. You may think you have this hope but it's only in your head. It's not in your heart. If it is in your heart, you will purify yourself as he is pure. 10:33 That means you'll be honestly able to say today with my eyes I look with greater purity at women than I ever looked in my whole life. Much more purely than I did last year otherwise it's a empty words 10:59 that I hope Christ is coming back. We are telling lies we don't have a hope. Everyone who has this hope is that written in your Bible? Read it carefully. Is it written that every person who has this hope 11:21 purifies himself as he is pure? I remember the day when I saw this in my life it gripped me the Holy Spirit opened my eyes said this is the goal 11:42 towards which I have to go now the devil doesn't want you to reach that goal he wants you to live a defeated third rate useless Christian life until Jesus comes but I don't want to do that 12:03 I have a hope that Jesus will come and I will see him face to face and I shall be like him and the proof that I have this hope God is my witness that for many years now 12:23 I have purified myself as he is pure but I see the peak of the mountain is still so far away I have a long way to go but I can say one thing 12:44 it's better than it was last year much better than two years ago and much much better than when I was first saved I'm not running backwards I'm running forward the Christian life is a race 13:08 like the 40 kilometer marathon race in the Olympics there's a starting line and there's a finishing line the starting line is when we are born again the finishing line 13:29 is when I become like Jesus Christ now how does a marathon runner run every few minutes he's getting closer and closer to his finishing line that's how he knows 13:50 that he's running in the right direction when he started out it was 40 kilometers and after half an hour maybe it's now only 30 kilometers and after one hour 14:11 maybe now it's only 20 kilometers to the finishing line it's only 10 or 11 kilometers it's becoming less and less and less and less as time goes on is it like that 14:32 in our race also we were reading in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that's a wonderful chapter it is speaking in verse 1 about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and there are many things written here 14:57 and there are many things written here two days ago we looked very carefully at verse 10 and 11 how God will deceive those who do not love the truth but here is something else it says that we read today why did Jesus call us 15:22 it is written in verse 14 it was for this he called you iată de ce v-a chemat that is very clear why did he call you de ce te-a chemat Iisus 15:42 for this iată pentru ce through our gospel what is our gospel care este evanghelia noastră here it is that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ not that we might go to heaven our gospel is 16:06 that we might gain that wonderful glory that Jesus had when he lived on earth read it slowly because most Christians don't even know this verse even though this verse 16:26 was read this evening just a few minutes ago I don't think you paid attention to it I find most Christians do not pay attention when the word of God is read do you know 16:48 that the gospel is the gospel of gaining the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ that is how we get prepared for the second coming of Christ mentioned in verse 1 the whole chapter is about the second coming of Christ and how the Antichrist 17:11 will rise up before the last days and then it says our gospel is that before Christ comes we will gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ what is the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ John chapter 1 17:32 verse 14 it says the word became flesh and dwelt among us and we saw his glory this is the glory we have to gain a glory full of grace 17:53 and truth do you know that you and I are supposed to gain that glory because it says in verse 16 from his fullness we receive grace upon grace upon grace the law 18:16 verse 17 which came through Moses could not do that the law could not give us the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ only the Holy Spirit could do that the law could make our external life 18:37 clean let me give you an example supposing somebody provokes me very much and I feel like really hitting him hard but I control myself 18:59 yeah I can say I did not sin externally but did I gain the glory of Jesus Christ no and the law said you shall not murder and if you don't murder that person for provoking you 19:19 you have kept the law but to gain the glory of Jesus Christ do you know what it means you don't even get angry with him you love him you can smile at him can you do that 19:39 then you have gained the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ if you merely control yourself and keep your mouth shut you're like a good Buddhist you're like a good Buddhist you control their emotions and their temper or 20:00 someone who does yoga in yoga they teach you to control your tongue but that's not the glory of Jesus Christ the glory of Jesus Christ is where he changes our heart not just controls our tongue have you gained it 20:22 is the gospel you have heard the gospel of gaining the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ that's what we just read in 2 Thessalonians 2 I'm so thankful that the Holy Spirit has made me read scripture 20:43 carefully why yesterday I was saying that if your father was a billionaire and he left a billion euros worth of property and money for you in a will that he up before he died and you're the only child 21:08 let me ask you would you just read that will carelessly or would you read every single line carefully I'm absolutely sure even if you're the most uneducated person here you will 21:29 read every line carefully and you will read it again and you will read it again because this is a billion euros that's a lot of money I must read where else has he put some money for me has he got some property 21:49 in London or perhaps in New York or in some other bank or in some other bank read it read it read it I will know everything in my head also I will know it in my mind everything do you believe this book 22:10 has got more to offer you than one billion euros yeah we will say yes but do you read it as carefully as you read that will it's easy to say yes but would you read it 22:30 as carefully as you would read that will that your father wrote there's so much treasure here which has become mine more and more and more as I've learned to read it carefully I find the bank of heaven 22:53 has got so many treasures for me which I did not know until I read this book that Jesus Christ purchased so much for me which I did not know until I started reading this book more carefully why has God 23:15 given us scripture let me read you what scripture it says 2 Timothy 3 verse 16 and 17 whenever you read the Bible keep this verse in mind whenever you read the Bible please keep these two verses 23:38 in your mind why God gave us the Bible 2 Timothy 3 16 and 17 all scripture is inspired by God and it is profitable for reading do you read it 23:59 do you read it every day do you read the newspaper every day or look on the internet for news every day it is more important to know what is written here than to know whether there is a tsunami in Japan I believe that 24:24 all scripture is profitable for reading if you don't read it you will be spiritually poor defeated by sin defeated by the devil you will have dirty dreams 24:44 at night you will have fearful nightmares at night you will not be able to sleep properly you may have sicknesses that you won't be healed from and you will not be strong to resist the devil and when somebody 25:05 comes to visit your home you will not have a prophetic word to give to that person because you don't read it is profitable for reading it is profitable for teaching for reproof 25:26 you know if you don't read it you can't understand anything for reproof that means to correct when you read the word of God does it correct you? reproof and correction two words are used there I'm thankful 25:52 for the many many times when I read the word of God and it has corrected me it has reproved me and the purpose is to train me verse 16 in righteousness and what is the final goal 26:13 verse 17 that I as a man or a woman of God we can be perfect perfect gaining the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ and like that we'll be equipped 26:34 for every good work for every ministry God wants me to do which is inspired for that purpose to make me perfect means to make me like Jesus Christ more and more and for every good work 26:58 means that I can serve God more and more so when we read scripture if you don't keep these two verses in your mind you will want to find out the answer to all types of unimportant 27:19 questions there are so many things we can be curious to find out which don't help us towards godliness so many people study the scripture to find out answers to questions 27:40 that do not lead us to godliness if you try to spend your time finding out who was Cain's wife how will that help you to become a godly person I'm not interested 28:02 in such things God has given us we read in 2 Peter 1 verse 3 his divine power has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness everything necessary for life and godliness 28:22 God's mighty power that is through the Holy Spirit Jesus said when the Holy Spirit is come upon you you'll receive power and here it speaks about that power of God the power of God 28:44 has not given us information about so many things but it has given us everything necessary for my earthly life and for godliness so we must remember that and he has given us 29:04 verse 4 wonderful promises in scripture it says precious and magnificent promises and what is the purpose of all these promises so that we might partake of his nature that is what 29:25 the law could not do the law could only keep people clean on the outside look holy on the outside but it could not change their nature but the glory this gospel 29:45 that we can gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ means I can partake of God's nature more and more and more in my life if I were to draw a little 30:05 diagram on a board you know divine truths cannot be easily drawn in a diagram but it sometimes helps us to understand because Jesus used word 30:26 pictures like salt and light to help us understand so here is a little picture that's helped me to understand what God wants to do in my life how I can gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ before we are 30:50 converted our whole heart is like a black circle it is sin sin and then Jesus Christ comes in and divine life comes in when we are born again 31:11 we can picture that like a little white circle that has come inside this black circle I've got life now I'm born again but still there are other areas 31:32 where I'm not like Jesus all of us are like that so God allows us to be tempted in different areas we can say temptation is like the battle that goes on 31:52 on the outer rim of this white circle so here is this big black circle which is all what the Bible calls the flesh and in the middle is a life in the spirit the Holy Spirit 32:15 has brought the life of Jesus a little white circle inside and we know what the Bible says in Galatians chapter 5 Galatians chapter 5 and verse 17 5 17 the flesh 32:35 fights against the spirit the spirit fights against the flesh where is that happening here is this black circle of the flesh and in the middle is this white circle of life in the spirit that has come to me and where this white 32:58 circle touches the black that is where there is a battle flesh flesh versus spirit spirit versus flesh and if I yield to the Holy Spirit in the moment 33:18 of temptation we are tempted in so many ways we are tempted to get angry we are tempted to lust with our eyes you can be tempted when you are sitting in front of the computer we are tempted to tell lies sometimes we are tempted 33:37 to tell lies to save us from an awkward situation in the place where you work or it may be to gain some money you tell a lie so many temptations to be bitter against somebody who has hurt you badly 33:58 that's a temptation or you can be tempted to seek honor when you preach or pray a lot of temptations in the church many, many temptations we are tempted to use our money for ourselves and not think about God 34:19 we are tempted to be hard and unmerciful on our children all this is where the white circle meets the black circle battle battle battle battle battle battle but if I yield to the Holy Spirit 34:40 and seek for grace in every temptation the word of God will be fulfilled that sin will not rule over you that's what we saw yesterday God's grace can keep us from falling and what happens 35:01 we overcome and as we allow the Holy Spirit to overcome through us you know what happens this little white circle becomes a little bigger because we have overcome in certain areas 35:22 and then again the white circle is touching the black in some new area a new battle begins in some other areas which we are not dealing with last year you know like a child 35:43 goes to second grade it learns certain things in mathematics which it did not learn in the first year the first year it was struggling with addition and subtraction now it is struggling with multiplication and division 36:03 so like that new temptations in new areas they were always there but we never discovered them when our circle was small but as we began to follow Jesus 36:24 and that circle became bigger we discovered new areas of sin in our life which we never knew it's like discovering some new snakes in some room in your house which you didn't even know were there and then we battle again 36:47 now if you keep on getting defeated now if you keep on getting defeated it will be just the same size and some believers are just the same size even after 20 years they still get angry 37:08 and lust with their eyes just like they did 20 years ago 20 years ago they were in the kindergarten and they're still in the kindergarten and the circle is exactly the same size and the circle is exactly the same size it's like you're having a baby 37:27 that never grows up same size and if you're sad about that God is much more sad about many of his children how much have you overcome Jesus wants you to be an overcomer in every area that is the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ 37:51 he was tempted and he never yielded turn to Revelation chapter 3 and verse 21 we would all like to sit with Jesus on his throne and we can sit on that throne 38:14 James and John wanted to sit on that throne they actually wanted just to sit on his left side and right side but here is something even more wonderful this is not sitting on the left side or right side Revelation 3.21 38:35 he will sit with Jesus on his throne who? he who overcomes he who fights the battle where this white circle is meeting the black says Lord I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit 39:01 that is the mark of a truly spiritual a spirit filled man he overcomes he's not defeated a defeated person is not a spirit filled Christian he may have gifts of the Holy Spirit 39:23 do you know who's got the maximum gifts? of course Jesus had more than anybody else when he was on earth but today among those who are roaming around the earth who has got the maximum gifts? do you know that the first person who brought fire from heaven was not Elijah but Satan 39:57 yeah you read that in the book of Job he brought fire from heaven and in Revelation 13.13 it says he will again bring fire from heaven in the last days who says Satan supposing you saw somebody bring fire from heaven 40:25 who do you say oh man of God no Revelation 13.13 it says but we read about it in 2 Thessalonians 2 that we read about it in 2 Thessalonians 2 fire from heaven he has got gifts 40:47 so don't be deceived by gifts Jesus had a life he was an overcomer Revelation 3.21 he who overcomes I will grant him to sit with me on my throne 41:08 and listen to this just like I overcame and sat down with my father on his throne so I say I must be an overcomer how must I be an overcomer 41:32 exactly as Jesus overcame listen to this he who overcomes just as I overcame put those two phrases together he who overcomes just as I overcame did Jesus have to overcome something on earth 41:54 some people think Jesus didn't have to do anything overcoming means you have to fight something did Jesus have to fight something was he tempted we read in Matthew 4 he was tempted by the devil 42:14 and he overcame Satan he never sinned he overcame see John chapter 16 John 16 and verse 33 the last part of that verse he told his disciples 42:37 take courage take courage because I have overcome the world I have overcome the world does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world 42:55 does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world 42:58 does that mean he began to rule all the millions of people in the world no physically we can say the Pharisees and the Roman soldiers overcame him they beat him and killed him physically they overcame him physically they overcame him 43:14 and physically the Roman people killed many saints here in Rome in the first century physically Christians are being overcome in many places even in India there are Christians being killed today 43:35 in many parts of the world they killed even Jesus but they could not overcome him inside so what does he mean that I have overcome the world we must compare scripture with scripture what did Jesus mean by the world 43:58 the same John who wrote John's gospel and wrote this verse John 16.33 the same apostle John defines the world in 1 John chapter 2 and verse 16 44:19 in 1 John 2.16 he tells us what the world is what is in the world it's not people it's the lust of the flesh it's the lust of the eyes and the pride of life 44:42 he says this is what is in the world this is not from the father he says this is what is in the world when Jesus spoke about the world he wasn't speaking about people he didn't overcome people he washed their feet he came to serve people 45:01 we're not called to overcome people I'm called to wash people's feet and to serve people and not overcome them because Jesus came to serve but there's another thing which the Bible calls the world 45:23 the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes the lust of the eyes and the pride of life Jesus said I have overcome this world that is his glory that he never sinned he was tempted with these three things 45:47 but he overcame and what did we read? if you overcome as I overcame you will sit with me on the throne that's why I want to overcome I'll tell you honestly I want to sit with Jesus on his throne and I won't sit with Jesus on the throne 46:10 just by going around preaching Jesus didn't say all those who go around preaching will sit with me on the throne because many of you sitting here can't go around preaching think of you mothers who've got many children how can you go around preaching? 46:29 but you can overcome you can overcome as Jesus overcame we are all tempted every day we are tempted to get impatient with people we are tempted in many, many ways the lust of the flesh 46:49 the lust of the eyes and we are tempted to be proud to look down on others to think more highly about ourselves to think that other people don't know as much as we know to be selfish we have to overcome and if we overcome 47:11 as Jesus overcame we can sit with him on his throne this is gaining the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ let me show you an Old Testament verse Proverbs 4 verse 18 when we receive Christ as our Savior God justifies us 47:35 that means he declares us righteous he clothes us with the righteousness of Christ in God's eyes we have become righteous but that's just the starting line of the race now the finishing line of this big race 47:55 is a long way off becoming like Jesus everyone who has this hope purifies himself as he is pure or we can say overcomes as he overcame it means the same thing 48:16 overcome as he overcame or purify himself until he reaches his standard of purity every year I must be making progress backsliding means I'm going back from areas 48:37 where I already overcame that happens to some believers when they are converted they are radical in certain areas they say I'm not going to watch those R-rated movies anymore and I'm not going to do this and that 48:57 and then after a while they mingle with half-hearted believers who are doing so many wrong things and they go back and they start doing things which they did not do five years ago but Proverbs 4.18 49:20 says the path of the righteous man or the righteous woman is like this it starts with sunrise and goes on till the sun is in its noonday position 49:40 brighter brighter brighter brighter brighter brighter brighter brighter brighter brighter and it says your path must be like the sun rising in the sky when you're born again the darkness is gone 50:00 when you're born again the sun has risen the sun of righteousness Jesus Christ has risen in your heart but it's not full day yet but see how the sun rises it gets brighter brighter 50:20 brighter brighter that is the path God has ordained for the righteous person or in New Testament it means this that I gain more and more and more of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ or I become 50:44 more and more free from my selfishness and my pride or I can say I'm overcoming more and more of the world or as I said this white circle becomes bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger these are all 51:04 different pictures of the same thing purifying ourselves until we become like him all scripture was given to make us perfect not just to give us a lot of knowledge so many people go to bible schools 51:25 and study so much in the scripture and they all argue about doctrine forever and ever what is the use arguing about doctrine if you are losing your temper and your wife what's the use arguing about doctrine if you are lusting 51:45 with your eyes what's your speaking in tongues if you love money you are not becoming more and more like Jesus Christ we need to purify ourselves there are two types of cleansing the bible speaks about 52:05 one is the cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ in 1 John in chapter 1 verse 7 all you have to do is walk in the light you know what walk in the light means first of all 52:25 be honest walk in the light means don't try to hide anything when God convicts you in a meeting admit it God may be convicting you in this meeting or yesterday but you may be resisting it you are fighting 52:47 against the Holy Spirit don't fight against the Holy Spirit sometimes we can be so prejudiced against somebody that we fight against the Holy Spirit walk in the light the light that God is giving to you 53:07 in your heart right now don't fight it walk in it admit your sin then the blood of Jesus will cleanse you there is no other way for our sin to be cleansed 53:27 any amount of work I do can never cleanse my sin all my prayer cannot cleanse it what do I have to do verse 9 confess our sin you know confess means this 53:48 let me make it clear to say the same thing that God says about your sin if God says your sin is black don't say it's gray it's not gray 54:09 black if God says you look at a woman to lust it's adultery call it adultery don't call it by some lighter name and make it look gray when you tell a lie when you give people 54:31 the impression that you're more holy than you are and God calls it hypocrisy call it hypocrisy call it hypocrisy call black black call sin by the name God gives it so many Christians 54:52 water it down and take away the seriousness of sin but if we confess our sins if we say the same thing about our sin that God says he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness that only he can do 55:12 but there is another cleansing that we have to do let me show you three verses 2 Corinthians 7 verse 1 we saw that yesterday we must cleanse ourselves 55:33 from all defilement of flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God now if you want to cleanse yourself and become perfect in holiness one of the conditions 55:56 in this verse is the fear of God what is the opposite of the fear of God the fear of man and I mentioned that yesterday Proverbs 29 Proverbs 29 56:18 verse 25 Proverbs 29 verse 25 the fear of man is like a trap It's like a bird caught in a trap and an eagle 56:38 caught by a clever man in a trap and it can't move flaps, flaps, flaps, flaps with wings but it can't fly the fear of man is like a trap if you're afraid 56:59 of any human being if you're afraid of any human being what does that mean? if I do this what will that person say if I don't do this what will that person say that is the fear of man you will never be able to cleanse yourself 57:21 you will remain unclean all your life you have to break free from the strap break it in Jesus name say Lord I'm not going to be afraid of any man I'm going to fear God I'm going to fear His word it's not easy 57:41 a lot of people in the Jewish community they love to hear Jesus but they were afraid let me show you a verse John chapter 9 John chapter 9 58:10 we read here about a man who was born blind and whose eyes were opened and they asked him who opened your eyes first they went to his parents and they asked his parents 58:33 John 9 19 is this your son? you say he was born blind? how does he now see? they could have answered yes this is my son he says that Jesus healed him 58:54 what did they say? we know this is our son he was born blind how he sees we don't know who opened his eyes we don't know that was a lie when he came back 59:15 with his eyes open supposing you had a 30 year old son born blind and one day he came with his eyes wide open won't you ask him who healed you? of course they said we don't know 59:36 why? listen to this verse 22 his parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews because the Jews had said if anybody confesses Christ he'll be put out of the synagogue if you say this 1:00:09 you cannot be a part of this church if you do this they'll put you out of the church afraid so they said ask him don't ask us the Christian world is full of such cowards who will not stand for God's word 1:00:29 they can never cleanse themselves and that is the problem let me show you another verse John chapter 12 this is an amazing verse John 12 42 1:00:49 many of the rulers believed in Jesus but because of the Pharisees they would not confess him unless they they would be put out of the synagogue because they loved 1:01:10 verse 43 the approval of men more than the approval of God let me let me ask let me ask all of you a straight question according to verse 43 do you love the approval of men or the approval of God I'll tell you something 1:01:31 you will never purify yourself if you love the approval of men I have a big verse that I've kept in the front room of my house for the last 35 years if you come to my house you'll see there's a big verse 1:01:52 if you fear God you don't fear anything else that's from Isaiah chapter 8 verse 12 and 13 12 and 13 in the living Bible you fear God you need fear nothing else you need fear nobody else 1:02:14 I've tried to live by that verse and I say Lord I want to fear you second verse second Timothy chapter 2 second Timothy chapter 2 verse 21 if a man cleanses himself 1:02:37 he will be a vessel for honor sanctified and useful for the master you must cleanse yourself it says here this is not the blood of Jesus cleansing us these are two sides of a coin 1:02:57 two sides of a coin the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin we must cleanse ourselves from the filthiness of the spirit if we cleanse ourselves we can be a useful vessel for the master and the third verse 1:03:19 is the one we already saw in 1 John 3.3 we purify ourselves as he is pure dear brothers and sisters how shall we do this whenever the Holy Spirit 1:03:41 shows you something un Christlike in you or de câte or Duhul Sfânt is descoper in tine ceva ce ce nu este după chipul lui Christos maybe you spoke one one rude word to your wife or husband poate poate ai vorbit un cuvânt 1:03:59 greșit soției tale sau soțului tău you repent pocăiește-te say Lord forgive me spune Doamne iartă-mă ce ai spus un cuvânt urât sau greșit e grav asta o are pentru un creștin 1:04:19 care e așa cu jumăt de inimă nu e o problemă gravă să presupunem că ți intră un ghim pe mână spui e numai un ghim pe ce dacă îl lași acolo te infectează nu îți trebuie 20 de ghim unul îți ajunge sunt înțelepți 1:04:41 să scoatem repede ghimbele din mână dar cum rămâne când ai înțepat pe cineva cu un cuvânt sunt soți și soții care se înțeapă unul pe altul tot timpul cu un cuvânt și nu își îl mărturis și nu se curăță 1:05:03 și peste 10 ani tot așa se înțeapă poate și presbiteri în biserică și ei tot așa ce exemplu să fie ei pot ei spune ca Pavel urmați-mă pe mine că cel urmește Hristos iată tragedia creștinismului 1:05:25 unde sunt oamenii aceia evlavioși care să spună călcați pe urmele mele cum eu car pe urmele Lui Hristos nu spunem că am ajuns pe vârf spun frate eu urc spre vârful muntelui vină și tu după mine vârful este poate încă la 3000 de metri de mine 1:05:49 dar deja am urcat și urc în continuare până să devin ca Iisus asta este voia Domnului pentru fiecare dintre noi Cine are urechi să asculte să ne ridicăm și să ne rugăm Tată Ceresc 1:06:12 ajută-ne să umblăm în lumină și să nu luptăm împotriva luminii doamne frânge-ne mândria umilește-ne Tu umple-ne cu Duhul Sfânt strengthen us Lord să umblăm în pașii Domnului Iisus 1:06:35 ne rugăm în numele Domnului Iisus Amen
