0:00 Some important lessons that are true for all of our life. 0:30 See, for example, in verse 27, it says God created man in his own image. Genesis 1, 27. So, was the image of God found only in man? 0:55 No. It says in verse 27, male and female, he created them. So, when God wanted to make his image, he saw it cannot be done only by making a man. 1:24 To present my full image, I need a man and a woman. I see it like two halves of a body. 1:45 Or, like the head and the body. The Bible says that the husband-wife relationship is like the head and the body. 2:07 That is the meaning of the husband is the head of the wife. And we need to understand that properly. There are two types of head in the world. 2:27 One is the head of a country. One is the head of a country. Like prime minister or president. Or, in some places, a king. Or, in some countries, a dictator who just rules the country. 2:49 But, Jesus said, that is not the type of head you should be. Our family relationship must picture the relationship of Jesus Christ and the church. 3:14 The relationship between Adam and Eve. When, right in the beginning, even though they did not know it, was supposed to picture Christ and the church in the future. 3:35 And, I want to say to all of you who are married here. And, all of you who are going to be married also must listen to this. 3:57 That means everybody. Do you know, that your marriage must show the world, how Jesus and the church are? And, even the angels and the demons must look at your marriage and understand how Christ and the church are to be. 4:24 So, when we talk about a bridal relationship with Christ, our home relationship is very important. 4:45 We are supposed to be the bride of Christ. And, I have to show it in my home. If I live with my wife, try my best with the power of the Holy Spirit to live like Jesus treats the church, then I am glorifying God. I want to say, I want to say all of you who are husbands. 5:20 All husbands, I want to say this. And, if you want to glorify God, you must seek to be to your wife, exactly like Christ is to the church. And, if you wives want to glorify God, you must seek to be to your husband, like the church is to Christ. 5:53 So, in your home, if you are not behaving like that to each other, You just come to the meeting and clap your hands and sing and praise the Lord. 6:16 It's all hypocrisy. Hypocrisy. You are just showing other people something in public. And, the devil will only laugh. And, the devil will make fun of God. The devil will say to God, these people just sing in the meeting, but look how they live at home. 6:45 Does the devil have to say that about your home? The devil is called the accuser of the brothers. You read that in the book of Job. That the devil tried to accuse even Job in God. 7:10 God himself gave a certificate, Job is the best man in the whole world. But, the best man in the world, the devil tried to accuse. The devil is always trying to accuse you and me. 7:30 Jesus said, the devil is a liar. Jesus said, the devil is a liar. But, he tells lies only to us. He tells us, God doesn't love you. God has not forgiven your sins. 7:52 God will not help you in this difficulty. God doesn't care for you. God has no time for you. You are useless. You are good for nothing. These are the lies the devil tells us. He's a liar. 8:12 When he speaks to God, he cannot tell any lies to God. He cannot say, Brother Zach went and murdered somebody if I did not murder anybody. He cannot say that Brother Zach went and stole some money when I did not steal any money. 8:36 He can only say, the sin I have committed. So, remember that. That when the devil accuses you to God, he will only accuse of things which you have done. And, if you are living in a hypocritical way at home as husband and wife. 9:08 That you are always fighting with each other. You don't live in a God-fearing way at home. You don't bring up your children in a God-fearing way. You gossip and speak evil of other people at home. 9:32 Your children don't know how to speak respectfully to parents or to older brothers. Then the devil can say to God, God, look at these children. You say, these are your children. 9:52 You say, they are your children. They sing so nicely. They pray so nicely. But look at how they are living at home. What can God say? God is ashamed. 10:16 Supposing your children behave badly in the school. And the teachers call you as the parents. And tell you some of the horrible things your children are doing in the school. How will you feel? 10:39 You won't say, oh, those are my children. Don't ask me about that. You will feel ashamed. That is how God feels when you don't live in the fear of God in your home. 11:02 So, when we think of this relationship with Jesus as his bride. Then, we must remember our home life is a very important part of that. And there, we must show, I must show my wife, how Christ is. 11:32 And the wife must show how the church is to Christ. And as a father and mother, we have to show our children how God is to us. My children must see that God is very kind and very strict. 11:59 He is not only kind, he is also strict. So, my children must see both of that in me. And if they don't see the kindness and strictness of God in the father and mother. Then, we have not represented God correctly to our children. 12:28 And that is where father and mother must be united in the way we discipline our children. But first, it must begin with our relationship as husband and wife. So, I told you, there are two types of head in the world. 12:52 One is the head of a country who rules and gives orders to everybody. And he may not care how the people are. See, there are so many poor people in India suffering so much. 13:13 And the head of the country may not even know about it. He may live comfortably, but he does not know how that poor villager is suffering in some way. That is one type of head. And some husbands are like that. 13:35 They don't care how much their wife is suffering. They are like the president or king in the house. That is not the type of head we should be. See what Jesus said in Luke chapter 22. 14:02 Luke 22, verse 25 to 26. In verse 24, it says they had a dispute who is the greatest. And as a husband, you also may discuss with your wife who is greater, you or me. 14:27 Who is greater? I am sure all of you husbands say, I am greater than my wife. Some of you wives may say, no, I am greater than my husband. That is just like these disciples also arguing who is greater. 14:53 Do I listen to you or you listen to me? There was one wife who said like this. My husband may be the head. But I am the neck that turns the head wherever I like. 15:17 Yeah, some wives are like that. They want to turn the husband wherever they like. But Jesus said among my disciples, there is no such argument who is the greatest. Verse 25. 15:37 The kings of the Gentiles, they lord it over others. But verse 26. But verse 26, it must not be like that with you. So if you are the greatest, you must become the youngest. And verse 26, the leader must become like a servant. 16:04 As a follower of Jesus, you must be a servant. The husband who is the leader must be the servant. How many of you husbands believe that you are the servant in the house? 16:26 I don't think you think like that. Not me. My wife is the servant. It says the leader must be like the servant. And then Jesus says, this is a wonderful verse. 16:50 Verse 27. It is one of the most amazing verses. He says, who is greater? The one who sits at the table or the servant who comes and serves at the table? You go to a rich man's house. 17:12 All the big people are sitting at the table. And one servant is coming and serving. Who is greater? You know the answer. The one who is sitting at the table is the great person. You don't even have to know that. 17:35 A rich man invites you to his house. And he is sitting there. And you also are sitting there. And somebody comes to serve the food. You don't ask who is greater, he or you. You know, you know, this man who is sitting here is the great man. 18:00 This person is only a servant. Now Jesus says, I am among you as a servant. Have you understood that? That in true Christianity, 18:22 We follow Jesus. We are not like big lords sitting at the table. If you really follow Jesus, Lord, I want to be a servant like you were. To have the spirit of a servant. 18:47 Not just do a few things. To show that I am a servant. But to have the spirit of a servant. That is the true husband. And that is the true wife. You know, the great example is a mother. 19:12 When the Lord tries to show his love for us. He takes the example of a mother. In Isaiah 49, verse 15. He doesn't take the example of a wife or a husband. 19:33 He says, The best example of my love is the love of a mother for its newborn baby. Now, if you were to ask me. Who is greater and bigger? Mother or that baby? 19:57 Everybody knows. Mother is bigger and greater and more important. The baby is a small, helpless child. But who is the servant there? Tell me. 20:19 Does the child do anything for the mother? Nothing. Morning till night. That mother is serving, serving, serving, serving, serving that child. And the Lord says, That is how I am towards you. 20:44 My love for you is like the love of a mother for her child. But that love makes me serve, and serve, and serve, and serve, and serve. And after one year of serving the child, the child still cannot do anything for its mother. 21:11 What does the mother do? What does the mother do? Next year, still serving. And then next year, still serving. When do you stop serving? See, now, my children got married, and they have all gone away. 21:36 They are living separately. So, my wife can say, now I can stop serving. They get children, again, we have to go and serve them. So, there is no end for a mother serving. 21:59 It starts from the day the child is born. You think it will finish when they are married. You still have to go, and help them, help them, help them. When does it stop? When the mother dies. 22:21 That is the true servant, God says. So, the leader must be a servant. If you are an elder in a church. Don't act like the prime minister, or president, or king. 22:45 No, we must be like a mother. Please serve, and serve, and serve, and serve. Everything you have to do. If you don't want to do that, you should not be an elder in a church. See, I work with about 70, 75 elders in all of our churches. 23:12 And I tell them, you must be a servant. If the toilet is dirty, the father and mother have to clean it, not the baby. In the church, we have to serve, and do all the dirty jobs for other people. 23:35 That is how a man is to be the head. That he cares for the body, like this physical head cares for the body. That, you know, the husband and wife must be like this head and this body. 24:04 Now, tell me, which is more important, the head or the body? So, have you ever seen a head just going around here and there without a body? Saying, I am only the important one. 24:25 Some husbands are like that. They think only the head, they go around like a head. What can you do without your body? Supposing you have no hands, no legs, no stomach, nothing, how will you die? 24:46 So, the body is very important. The body is important, and so the wife is important. And so, the next thing is, have you ever seen a body going around without a head? No. 25:06 Everywhere you see the body and the head are joined together. When you separate the body and the head, Like when they hang people, a person is dead. So, all husbands and wives must remember this. 25:30 It says that in Ephesians 5. When it says, the husband is the head of the wife, Ephesians 5.23. Husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. 25:55 All husbands know that verse. But they don't know the verse 28. The husband must love the wife like his own body. So, it's explained there. This is not head like Prime Minister and President. 26:19 It is head like head of the body. So, like that, body and head always moving together wherever it goes. If they are separated, the person is dead. Even for one second, 26:41 the head is not separated from the body. That is how the relationship must be between every husband and wife who call themselves Christians. You tell me, 27:01 is the head serving the body or the body serving the head? Both are serving each other. If there is a mosquito sitting on my head, the body has to come and take it off. 27:23 You can't do it by itself. or put food in the mouth. The body has to do it. At the same time, the body needs the head also. To tell where to go, what to go, where to sit down, what to eat. 27:44 So, when you think of your own head and body, you learn so many lessons about how husband and wife must live together. Then, you must ask yourself, 28:05 Am I living with my wife like that? Am I treating my wife just like I treat my body? And you wives must ask yourself, Am I treating my husband just like I treat my head? How many of you wives slap your head? 28:37 Never. Then, you must not speak rudely to your husband also. How many of you wives? How about the husband as the head? Supposing a mosquito comes and sits on your hand. 29:01 And it's causing a little pain. It's not a very big pain. Small pain. The head knows it immediately. Ah, mosquito is sitting on my body. And immediately, the head tells the right hand, 29:23 Go and knock it off. After how many seconds? Does the head look at it for five minutes and then do it? No. Immediately. What is the meaning? 29:45 When your wife is hurt in some way. Do you feel it? Do you just look at it? Or do you do something to relieve that pain from your wife? 30:08 That is how Jesus loved us. He saw me in my sin. He saw me in my sin. He saw me in my sin. He knew I could do nothing. He knew that I could do nothing. He came down and saved me. 30:32 Because he knows I am weak. He is strong. And the Bible says, Every husband must recognize that his wife is weak. And must help her. See 1 Peter chapter 3. 30:56 This is a very important verse for husbands. You husbands live with your wives in an understanding way as with a weaker vessel. Verse 7. 1 Peter 3. And give her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life. 31:29 So all of you husbands, I want to ask you a question. Is that verse written in your Bible? Have you read it? Is it in your Bible? Yes. Have you read it? 31:49 Yes. Have you read it more than once? Yes. Now the difficult question. Have you obeyed it? Have you lived with your wife in an understanding way? 32:14 What do you have to understand? First of all, that she is a weaker vessel. She is not equal to you. Supposing you and your wife are traveling. And there are two suitcases. One 30 kilos, one 10 kilos. 32:37 Which one will your husbands lift? Barthalara, you are 30 or 10 kilos. What suitcases do you have to do? 30 kg? I hope so. She is a weaker vessel. But I have seen sometimes among the poor people in the villages. 33:02 The poor woman will be carrying the big thing on her head. And a man will walk like a Maharaja. That is because they are not Christians. They haven't read the Bible. 33:25 But you must not be like that. You recognize she is a weaker vessel. Not only for carrying suitcases. But many things. Some small thing happens in the house. She begins to cry. And you say, hey, why are you crying? 33:51 See me. See me, I am not crying. That is not because you are spiritual. It is because you are a man. If you were a woman, you would also be crying. So, and the next thing it says is, you must understand that she is equal with you in the sitting on the throne as a joint heir of the grace of life. 34:24 In India, we have this bad habit that we don't allow the wife to sit with us when we are eating the food. Is that a sin for the wife to sit with you when you are eating food? 34:45 Or you have to always eat alone like a Maharaja and then she like a servant eats later on. It's all right when we have visitors, then she may want to serve them and stand. That is different. 35:07 Because there is so much food to be served for visitors. I am talking about when you are alone at home. Do you sit with your wife and eat and talk and fellowship together? Jesus would always sit with his disciples. 35:28 And talk to them and eat with them. That is how the bridal relationship is. So, it says we are to be kings and queens. Now, I want to ask you husbands a question. 35:52 How many of you like to be the king in your house? Yeah, I want to make you a king. The Lord wants you to be a king in your house. How many of you are to be the king? I will tell you in one sentence. 36:15 Make your wife the queen. You will automatically be the king. You understood now how to become the king? Just treat your wife every day like a queen. 36:36 See, till now you have treated her like a slave. Now you say, no, I want to be the king in my house. Wonderful. Treat her like a queen from today. The husband of the queen will be what? The husband of the queen will be what? 36:59 King. Now you have found the secret. Live in an understanding way. Otherwise, It says, your prayers will not be heard. Verse 7. 37:21 Why is it your prayers are not heard, brothers? Read 1 Peter 3, 7. Because you are not living with your wife in an understanding way. God wants you to be the king, but you are not treating the wife like a queen. 37:51 Now, after hearing all this, I can see that all the wives are very happy. I'm very happy. Brother Zach has spoken to all the husbands here today. Now, I want to make the husbands happy. 38:17 I want to speak to the wives. Not my idea, what God says. See what it says in Ephesians chapter 5. Verse 24. 38:37 As the church is subject to Christ, so should the wives be subject to their husbands in everything. 38:57 It's a very simple sentence. Do you do it? Is that written in your Bible? Have you read it? Do you do it? Does your Bible say, you must be subject to your husband in some things or everything? 39:23 How is it in the telugu? Some things or everything? Tell me. Louder. Ah, so you understood it today. 39:48 But then the question comes. But what if my husband is not obeying the word of God? That also there is an answer in the Bible. 1 Peter 3, verse 1. 40:09 1 Peter 3, verse 1. In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your husbands even if they are disobedient to the word of God. Even if they are disobedient. 40:35 That is the answer to your question. So you say, what shall I do? Preach to him. Preach to him every day. You must be born again. You must be born again. No. That also says here. You can win your husband without speaking one word. 41:01 How can you win your husband without preaching one word? By your behavior. When they see your chaste and respectful behavior. 41:22 When they see. Oh, what a change Jesus has brought in my wife. She is not shouting at me. Even when I do something wrong. She is forgiving me. She is serving me. 41:44 She is respectful to me. Even when I am rude to her. It may take a little time. But little by little, his heart will be broken. And one day. He will be converted. 42:06 He will change. I saw in one place. Where one rock was split into two. Big rock. And they said this is how it was split. 42:26 See, from the small little drop of water is falling from there. One drop. Drop, drop, drop, drop. Can you break a rock with one drop of water? 42:50 It's impossible. It's impossible. But it happened. After many years. Drop, drop, drop. One day broke. Such a weak thing like a drop of water could break a rock. 43:11 That is how a weak wife can deliver her husband from the grip of Satan and bring him to Christ. 43:34 When you do that. It will bless your children. The children also will come into the kingdom of God. If you want to bring up your children in the fear of God. The most important thing is this. 43:56 What is the most important thing? You'll say, preach the word of God. No, that is important, but that is not the most important. Oh, you say, you must use a rod. That is important, but not most important. Most important thing. 44:18 Not even taking them to church. That is important, but not most important. Most important is the children must see that daddy and mommy are one. 44:38 If your children can see that daddy and mommy are always one. See, when Jesus is between the husband and wife. He will hold them so close together, they cannot separate. 45:01 Whenever you husband or wife have a fight with each other. I am not interested in finding out whose fault it is. Is it husband's fault or wife's fault? It is not important. I know who did it. The devil. 45:22 The devil did it. And Jesus has gone away from there. Jesus is not in your home when you and your wife are fighting. You can have all the verses on your wall. But Jesus is not there. Only the verses are there. What is the use of having all the verses if Jesus is not in your home? 45:44 If Jesus is in your home, you will be like this. No devil, no problem. Nothing can separate you. See, these carpenters, they use a special type of glue called Fevicol. 46:04 That's a special type of paste. They put it on two pieces of wood and you cannot separate it. If it is stuck like that, you cannot open it out. You have to cut it and all to break it. 46:26 No, I saw one advertisement for Fevicol in a newspaper. And they show these two pieces of wood like this. And one elephant pulling this side and one elephant pulling this side. Say, even elephants cannot separate what is stuck with Fevicol. 46:48 I say, this is a beautiful picture of how husband and wife must be when Jesus unites them together. How many of you believe that Jesus is stronger than Fevicol? 47:15 If He joins you together. Even elephants or demons or devil, nobody can separate. That is why we must humble ourselves. 47:38 And one of the most important thing in humbling ourselves is, Don't blame each other. That is an old habit we got from Adam. 47:59 You remember God asked Adam, Did you eat that tree from that fruit? There are only two answers for that. Yes or no. Like some, nowadays they have these multiple choice questions and examinations. Yes or no. 48:24 Just tick, yes or no. That's all. So God asks Adam, Tick, yes or no. Did you eat that tree? He doesn't tick either of them. Underneath his writing, First of all, 48:45 My wife, She is the problem. Because she went and took this fruit. And second problem, God, you are the problem because you gave me this wife. And point number three. 49:08 In small letters, I opened my mouth and ate it. This is how we confess our sin. He did this, And she did this. In small letters, 49:29 I also got little anger. God said you get out of Eden, Get out of paradise. We have to give up this Adamic habit Of blaming other people. 49:49 That's why we lose paradise. But you see the thief who hung on the cross? He said, God, Lord, I am to blame. I am guilty. I deserve to be crucified. 50:09 I don't deserve life imprisonment. I deserve death. I am so bad. Jesus said, Really? Then you can come to paradise. The same paradise from which I kicked out Adam Because he would not take the blame. 50:37 You are willing to take the blame. Come to paradise. You know who all go to paradise? Those who don't blame other people. That thief did not say, My parents brought me up badly. That's why I became like this. 51:01 Or I got into some bad company And they only Or I am not guilty. The judge only hated my face. No blaming parents or friends or judge or anybody. Only me, Lord. 51:23 The Lord said, Come to paradise. All of us have got to learn something from that thief on the cross. In one minute, He has given a powerful message To all Christians. That is one of the most powerful sermons 51:44 Anybody preached. Before he died, He gave a one minute sermon. Which we are listening to for 2,000 years. Take the blame. Take the blame. 52:04 Say, I am guilty. Then there will be unity. If the husband is willing to acknowledge his fault. And the wife is willing to acknowledge her fault. Instead of pointing the finger at each other. And the wife is willing to acknowledge her fault. 52:23 See, Isaiah 58. Verse 8. Your light will break out like dawn. Which verse is it in Telugu? Your light will break out like dawn. 52:44 And your health will recover speedily. Yeah, that's the verse. Which verse is that? It's in Telugu 78. Okay. Your recovery will speedily spring forth. 53:08 That means if you are sick, you will be healed. And when you call on the Lord. Verse 9. Immediately God will answer you. What is the condition? You must stop pointing the finger at others. 53:31 See, the pointing the finger in verse 9. Is it there? You stop pointing the finger. Then you will be, your sickness will be healed. Then light will come in your darkness. And the glory of the Lord will come upon you. And when you pray, God will answer immediately. 53:54 What do you have to do? Stop pointing the finger at your husband or wife. Like Adam. Like the thief pointed at yourself. There's an old saying. That when you point one finger at somebody. 54:19 Three fingers are pointing at you. Have you noticed that? It's like that. We acknowledge our blame. Then Jesus will come between us. And our home will be blessed. And our children will be blessed. 54:42 So, I'm not on the side of husband or wife. I'm not here to preach to husband or wife. Because Jesus is on both your sides. We are only against the devil. 55:02 We are only against the devil. So, husband and wife. Don't be against each other. Join together to fight the devil. Because that is how we can manifest to the world. How Jesus and the church are. 55:28 And then, in our home. We can raise up another generation of children. Who will also go the same way. And they can bring up their children in that way. See, I have four sons. They've all got children now. 55:49 And they say, dad. We want to bring up our children. The way you brought us up. That is what brings me, my wife. It brings both of us the greatest joy. 56:11 You want your children to grow up like that? Number one. Be one with your husband. Don't argue who is greater. We are both servants. We have to serve Jesus. 56:33 And in serving Jesus, we serve one another. Both husband and wife are servants to each other. We serve our children. And thus, we can serve the church. God bless you. I believe that many of you are going to have very happy homes from today. 57:00 Yes or no? Praise the Lord. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, We know that you want to help us to have godly homes. Give us the power of your Holy Spirit for that. 57:21 I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
