0:02 [music] >> There's a wonderful Psalm a version of Psalm that I was reminded of this morning and brother Olu mentioned when we were praying as well. Uh I'll read it briefly. Psalm 50. Psalm 50 verse 23 says, "He who offers a 0:28 sacrifice of thanksgiving." Some translations say praise. "He who offers a sacrifice of praise honors me." Isn't that wonderful that in a very simple way we can honor God through our lives and through this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. 0:47 And to him who orders or sets his way correctly, his way alright. I shall show the salvation of God. I hope that's the desire of your heart. That we'll see the salvation of God. And he says, "Begin by offering me a 1:05 sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving." And um you'll honor me by doing that. Simply by offering a true sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Not something that we want to make sure the sounds the sound is good or the harmony is right or 1:22 we're all in tune. Let's try to do that but that our hearts are in harmony with God first of all and our hearts are in harmony with each other in our marriages, in our homes, and in this church. There's no nothing that needs to be set right with 1:36 anybody else. No unforgiveness towards anybody. We've set our ways alright. And we're offering a sacrifice of thanksgiving and praise. We'll honor God and he we will see his salvation. Heavenly Father, we come to you this 1:50 morning afresh with a desire to praise you and honor you and to see your salvation. You alone have salvation, Lord. Salvation is in none other except in the name of Jesus Christ. And so, we're here to know your salvation. Nothing else on 2:07 this earth can save us. Our own efforts could never save us. All our money or all the other things that seem to give us false security here on this earth can never save us. Only you can. So, Lord, we're here to seek your salvation. 2:21 We start by offering you the sacrifice of our own lives, our bodies as a living sacrifice. And then, the thanksgiving and praise from our lips, believing that you we will honor you simply because you said that if we offer 2:35 you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and praise, we will honor you. We set our ways all right, Lord, before you this morning. Making sure that there's nothing between you and us, nothing between us and any other human being. 2:49 And then, we know we will see our salvation. Come and reveal your salvation [music] to us. Come and reveal Jesus Christ, who is salvation, to us. His name is Jesus, for he shall save you from all your sin. Salvation 3:05 belongs to our God, [singing] >> [music] >> who sits upon the throne, >> [singing] [music] >> and [singing] unto the lamb. >> [music] >> Praise [singing] 3:28 and glory, [music] wisdom and thanks, >> [singing] >> honor and power, and >> Let's lift our hands to him and sing, "Be to our God." Be [music and singing] to our God forever 3:46 and ever. Be [music] to to God, forever and ever. Be >> [music] >> to our God, forever and ever. Amen. 4:05 >> [music] >> And we, [singing] the redeemed, >> [music] >> shall be strong >> [singing] >> in perfect and unity. >> [singing and music] >> Declaring 4:27 the love, >> [music] >> Praise your name, Lord Jesus Christ. praise [singing] and glory, >> [music] >> wisdom and faith, honor and power [singing] and strength. Be [singing] 4:46 to our God, forever and ever. >> [music] >> Be to our God, forever >> [music] >> and ever. Be >> [singing] >> to our God, forever >> [music] 5:05 >> and ever. Amen. >> [singing] [music] >> You did not wait for me to cry >> [music and singing] >> out to you, but you clothed yourself in frail 5:24 humanity. You [music and singing] did not wait for me to cry >> [singing] >> out to you, but [music] you let me hear your voice calling me. And I'm forever [music and singing] 5:44 grateful >> [singing and music] >> to I'm forever grateful >> [singing] >> for the cross. I'm forever grateful [singing and music] to you that you [music and singing] came 6:09 to seek and save >> [singing] >> the lost. >> [music] >> Be [singing] to our God forever and ever. >> [music] >> Be to our God 6:27 forever and ever. >> [music] >> Be to our God forever and [music and singing] Be to our God. Be to our God forever [singing] and ever. 6:46 Be to our God forever and [singing] ever. Be to our God forever [music] and ever. >> [singing] >> Amen. 7:05 >> [music] >> We sing you that wonderful chorus, "Turn your [music] eyes upon Jesus." Look full in His wonderful face. 7:24 And the things of earth will grow strangely dim. Is there something on this earth that is still drawing your appeal? Dear friend, dear brother, dear sister, your [music] children, is there something on this earth, some ambition, some goal, some wanting, 7:39 some relationship, some earthly thing that's fading away. The world and everything that is in it is passing away. It's dying. But he who does the will of the Father will live forever. This is the [music] only thing by which we have eternal life. This is 7:56 the only way by which we have eternal life. In Jesus Christ and in doing [music] the will of the Father. So, if you're still caught taken up with the things of this earth [music] in some way, I invite you, dear friend, wherever 8:11 you are, whatever it's been like up to [music] this point, to turn your eyes afresh to Jesus, who is the only [music] source of purest joy. Lord [music] Jesus, 8:29 thou who [singing] only art the endless source of purest joy. Oh, [singing and music] come and fill this longing heart. May not [singing] but thee my thoughts employ. 8:47 >> [music] >> Teach me [singing] on thee to fix my >> [singing and music] >> heart, for none but thee can satisfy. >> [music] >> Teach me on [singing] thee to fix my 9:07 heart, [music] for none but thee can satisfy. [singing] The joys [music] of earth can never fill >> [singing] >> the heart that's tasted of thy love. 9:25 No portion [singing] would I seek until I reign [singing] with thee, my Lord above. above. >> [music] >> When I shall gaze [singing] upon Thy face, [music] 9:43 and know more [singing] fully all Thy grace. >> [music] >> When I [singing] shall gaze >> [music] >> upon Thy face, and know more [singing] fully all Thy grace. When from Thy radiant [singing] 10:04 [music] home on high, Thou didst [singing] my fall and ruin see. >> [singing] >> Thou cam'st [music] on earth for me to die, >> [singing] >> that I might share that throne with Thee. Loved with an 10:26 >> [music] >> everlasting love, my hopes, [singing and music] my joys are all above. Loved with [music and singing] an everlasting love, my hopes, [singing and music] my joys are all 10:45 above. Oh, what is [singing and music] all that earth can give? I'm called to share >> [singing] >> in God's own joy. Dead to [music] the world, >> [singing] >> in Thee I live. 11:05 In Thee I bliss without >> [singing] >> alloy. Well may [music] I earthly joys resign, >> [singing] >> all things [music] are mine, and I am Thine. >> [singing] >> Well may I 11:26 earthly [music and singing] joys resign, all things are mine, and I am Thine. >> [music] >> Before we move on, I want us to think about what we just sang. Well may I earth well before [music] that even Oh, what is all that earth can give? 11:45 Think about if you had everything that this earth could offer. Every single thing, all the kingdoms and riches and honor and reputation and glory that the earth could offer, if you had it all, would that even come close to what 12:00 Christ offers you? Cuz you are called to share in his joy, joy that's found in him alone. And so I'm dead to the world, is that really true? Are you dead to the world? [music] It means the world has no effect on you, as 12:14 much effect on you and as much draw on you, anything on this earth has much draw [music] on you as it does to a dead person. I live in thee with bliss in bliss that's not mixed. Not a joy that's up or down, not bad moods every now and then, but 12:30 >> [music] >> a joy that's constant because the presence of God is always with us. And so I resign earthly joys. All things are mine, what things? The things of heaven. All things of God are yours, dear [music] friend, if you can say that you 12:48 are fully his. I am thine. I've given you my whole life and so he [music] offers you everything of heaven, everything of Christ's nature he offers to you. Sing that verse again. Oh, what is all >> [music and singing] >> that earth can give? 13:07 I'm called to share in [music and singing] God's own joy, dead to the world, [singing] in thee I live. In thee I bliss [music] without alloy. Well may [singing] 13:26 I earthly joys resign. All things [music and singing] are mine and I am thine. Well, >> [singing and music] >> may I earthly joys resign. All [music and singing] things are mine 13:45 and I >> [music] >> am thine. Till thou shalt come to take [singing and music] me home. Be this my one ambition, Lord, flesh, sin, [singing and music] the world 14:03 to overcome. Fast clinging [singing and music] to thy faithful word. More [singing] of thyself each [music] day to know and more [singing] into thine >> [music] >> image grow. 14:25 More of thyself [singing] each day [music] to know and more into thine image grow. >> [music] >> Always sat on a lot of words. Words that 14:43 are so easy to just sing and move on by. Dear friend, don't be in a hurry to move past what we just sang. If this is truly the desire of your heart that Jesus Christ will be glorified in your life, that's your only ambition. 14:56 Nothing, not a single other ambition here on this earth, not to make a name for yourself, not to succeed in this world in some way, not to make a little bit more money, not to have a little bit more pleasure, if that's the desire of 15:06 your heart, then he says, "I'll give you heaven. I'll give you Christ himself." Heavenly Father, we come to you in at this time of consecration and prayer to you. We thank you, Lord, for your tremendous love. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you 15:20 came down from heaven to this earth to give us life eternal. That beginning here on this earth, we can have an answer to every problem. Jesus is the answer for the world today. He is the light of the world and he's shining in the church 15:36 and shining through those in whom he lives as the light of the world even today. Heavenly Father, will you come and shine that light afresh in our own hearts first of all that we might be the light of the world to others around us. 15:49 That your life your eternal life that we lay hold of it like you asked us to in your word that we might really be an influence, be the salt and the light in the world around us. Heavenly Father, be glorified. Be exalted more in our 16:01 lives, more in our thoughts, in our ambitions, in our goals. Let the things of this world truly be where may we be blinded to the things of this world because of seeing your glory. Help us, Lord, to truly gaze into your 16:13 face and to see your glory and your majesty that we will no longer chase after the temporary pleasures of this world. We want what we just sang, Lord. You alone are the source of purest joy. We believe it. Your word tells it to us. 16:27 And so, Lord, I pray that we will no longer seek for the temporary passing pleasures of this world, joys that go up and down that are here today and gone tomorrow, and seek alone that joy that is in your presence and the pleasure 16:39 that is at your right hand. Thank you, Father. You offer to that to us. So, we lay our lives afresh to you this morning that today will be a day that's fully yours. This week will be a week that's fully yours. This month, this the rest 16:52 of this year, and the short time that we have here on this earth. We're not even guaranteed tomorrow, Lord. We might stand before you even at the end of this day to give account for our lives. I pray we will live every day in light of 17:05 eternity. Help us to redeem the time, not to waste any moment, Lord, not to waste any day in living for ourselves and seeking earthly pleasures and being hung up, Lord, over relationships or attitudes or bad moods. All these things, Lord, if 17:20 it's not in heaven, we don't want it here on this earth. Thank you that you've called to give us you've come to give us eternal life. You said that we when we receive life from you, we would have it abundantly. We want that 17:30 abundant life of heaven, the abundant life of Christ here on this earth, in our marriages. Lord, I pray for every marriage. I pray that you will knit the hearts of husbands and wives more closely together in unity. The unity of 17:43 heaven, Lord, as the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit are one, will you give us that unity? You said you came to this earth that we would share in that glory of your unity, to be one as you are one with the Father. So, knit our 17:55 hearts together. And the hearts of parents and children, Lord, will you We pray for our children that our hearts will be knit more closely with them, that they too will will that there will be restored relationships between 18:06 parents and children. And that our children also will grow up to love you and honor you, and see that the life lived for Jesus Christ is the only life worth living. No other life can bring any satisfaction or success in the long 18:21 run, in eternity. So, Lord, I pray pray for every one of our children. As we prayed often, Lord, we pray that not a single one of them will be lost to the world, that every one of them will know the love of Jesus Christ, will know the 18:32 presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and and experience the power to overcome sin and to live in victory. Thank you, Lord Jesus. You love our children, and you want to You want to bless them with that life that that from 18:44 a young age they too can know freedom from the things of this world, freedom from the power of sin. Thank you, Lord Jesus. You've come to set us free, and our children as well. The promise is for them. We pray we we claim it in the name 18:56 of Jesus. I pray for any in whom the devil has had a foothold in some way, Lord, defeated by sin, bad habits, addicted to some anything, Lord, any sin, sins that beset them, Lord, or other things that they're entangled by. I pray you will come and 19:10 loose them in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus. The name of the Lord is a strong tower and everyone who runs into it is saved. We thank you, Lord, that that we can claim that name of Jesus not just to say it 19:22 with our words, but to say it with a heart that's full of Jesus. We believe that when we run to this tower, we shall experience salvation. And so, Lord, we lift up any who are in need of salvation. Loved ones we know, others 19:33 that maybe even here or listening to this prayer online or others around us whom you've placed in our circle who need that salvation. We claim we come to this tower that is Jesus Christ and ask for that salvation, for that saving 19:46 power, Lord, in our own lives and in the lives of those we know. We believe that you have defeated Satan permanently and he's completely defeated. He has no authority over the over the life of anybody who is a believer, who in whose 19:58 in whose heart your spirit dwells. And so, we stand against you, Satan, and we bind your work in the name of Jesus. We resist you. If you've got your foot If you've got your a place in any heart in any life here, we resist you and bind 20:10 your work. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that these words are not in vain. We believe this prayer is recorded in heaven where there is all authority, where where Satan is afraid of the name of Jesus. Thank you, Lord. So, I pray you will 20:23 give us godly homes and give us a godly church, Lord. Make us a godly people. We long for holiness, Lord, the holiness of heaven, the holiness of Jesus Christ, that our lives will truly be pure and unstained by the things of this world. 20:36 Thank you, Lord, you'll do that and fill our hearts with joy. We want the joy of heaven, Lord. We don't want to be gloomy Christians. What a poor example would we would be to the world if people see us and our and see how gloomy and depressed 20:48 and discouraged we are. So, Lord, help us to set off all the shackles of discouragement and condemnation, to no longer dwell there anymore. You've given us the key of hope. We open the prison door and we walk free today. I pray for 21:00 any who walked in here with any burden in their heart that they'll leave this place freed of every burden that they've carried in. You said cast your burdens on me. Lay all your burdens at my feet and I because I care for you. Thank you, 21:13 heavenly Father, you care for us. We have a father in heaven. Help us to live like it. Thank you. Thank you, Lord, you'll do that. We pray for our earthly needs for any who are in need of healing. We that any who are sick can't 21:25 be here today or others who deal with constant pain in their bodies. Lord, will you lay your hands on them and heal them? You are the healer. You anybody who you laid your hands on was healed immediately. And so, Lord, we pray for 21:37 healing in the in the body of those who need it. Touch them today, Lord, where we know our bodies are are decaying anyway. We're not living We're not trying to preserve this body any longer than you intended for it. But we our 21:48 bodies are for you, Lord, and pray that you'll give us healthy bodies so that we can serve you during this short life we have here on this earth. So, heal those that need healing. Relationships that need healing, Lord, I pray you'll do 21:58 that. Will you restore relationships, especially marriage relationships and others, Lord, in family members uh brothers and sisters that have disunity between them. I pray you'll restore that. You are the healer. And we thank 22:12 you, Lord, for our We commit our material needs to you. You said seek first your kingdom and its righteousness and all these things that we need here on this earth that the rest of the world is seeking after. They're looking for 22:23 how to make a little bit more more money, how to have a little bit more savings or a little bit more in the retirement account. Lord, we look to you. We seek the kingdom of heaven alone and you will add into our account what 22:33 we need. Thank you, Lord, we'll trust you for that. Thank you for the jobs you've given us, the ability to provide for our families. We commit them to you, Lord. They're in your hands. You decide what job we should have, what job we 22:43 should have, how much money we should have, how much money we should. It's in your hands, Lord, and those are the best hands. We thank you. The eternal God is our refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms. Lord, I pray that we 22:55 will learn to trust you more. Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him. How I proved him o'er and o'er. Let that be the testimony of our lives. Jesus, Jesus, oh for grace to trust you more. May this day, Lord, be a day of trusting you more than we 23:11 ever have. May this week be a week of trusting you more than we ever have. And what a wonderful life is ahead of us. We thank you in Jesus' name. Amen. We'd like to sing a song that may be new to some of you. It's a very old hymn. 23:26 But I just want to go over the words. Courage, brother, don't stumble. If you're walking through a path that seems dark as night, there's a star to guide you if you're humble. If you're proud, you will continue [music] to remain in the 23:40 darkness. The will of God will be hidden from you. But if you're humble, you're truly humble, there will be a star. >> [music] >> And that is trusting in God and doing the right. Even if the road is rough and dreary, and its end seems far out of sight, foot 23:54 it bravely, strong or weary, trust in God. Verse two says, [music] "Perish policy." Don't live by some policy or some other cunning like Jacob was, the deceiver, till he became Israel. Everything that fears the light, put it 24:10 aside. Walk in the light. Don't walk in the darkness. Whether losing or winning, trust in God and do the right. Some will hate you. Some will love you. And some will flatter. Some will despise you and slight you. Don't heed them. 24:28 Look above you. Trust in God. And do the right. And [music] so, verse two. Courage, sister, don't stumble. Even if your path is dark as night, simple rule and safest [music] guiding, inward peace and inward might. Our power is not 24:44 outward, even if you feel weak physically, emotionally, even if you feel like you're in weak circumstances, your power and your might in your peace is inward. What is it that you're hung up over, 28:14 dear friend? But Jesus died that you might have abundant [music] life. Oh, who am I [singing] that for my sake?
