We ask for, Lord, soft hearts and attentive ears. We ask for your Holy Spirit to flow freely in our midst, Lord. We want to give you the rightful place. We bow down before you. We praise you. We ask in your mighty name, Jesus. Amen. 7:53 Brothers and sisters, so it's our privilege now to hear from uh Brother Victor. Brother Victor will will share what is on his heart. Uh Brother Polo will translate for him, and after that we'll we'll hear from Brother Parushotham. 8:10 Let's pay close attention. Uh trust that the Lord will speak to us according to our need. Brother Victor, please. >> [clears throat] 9:10 >> I praise God for the glorious word that I [clears throat] heard this morning. 5 years We heard about the childhood of Jesus from the age of five. >> [clears throat] 9:33 >> The hunger that Jesus had towards the word of God. The age of 12, the knowledge that he heard on the word of God. We heard about how he obeyed his parents 9:56 at Nazareth. I would have been there. obedience without understanding and the way There was no need for Jesus to take baptism. We heard about how he obeyed without 10:16 understanding and he gave himself for baptism. From his life we heard how in the days of wilderness he resisted Satan and how 10:33 he was faithful. We saw high priest who was tempted like us in all areas and yet yet without sin. I think I don't get We heard about his 10:54 humility and gentleness. Praise the Lord. In just one hour's of time, Holy Spirit painted a beautiful picture of the life 11:13 of Jesus. Now during this days of conference if 11:31 Holy Spirit could show the life of Jesus like [clears throat] the theme that we have, it would be great. When we read the Bible instead of 11:53 studying the Bible, if you could read or study the life of Jesus, it would be good. Behind those verses, if Holy Spirit could show us the life or the glory of Jesus, 12:11 it would be useful. First of all, I'd like to show two verses. to manifest his life already To manifest the life of Jesus, two 12:30 things are important for us. Second Corinthians chapter 4. Second Corinthians [clears throat] chapter 4. Uh verse 10, 11, 12. Important verses verse 10, 11, and 12. >> [clears throat] >> Always carrying in the body the dying of Jesus so that 12:49 the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So that death works in us but life in 13:09 you. Praise the Lord. Important passages is this passage. If I don't carry the dying of Jesus 13:32 in my body, I will not be able to manifest the life of Jesus. Majority of Christians today, they know about the death on the cross. They know about Calvary's death, the 13:50 last death that Jesus died. But Jesus all through his life, he carried a dying on his body. And Paul mentions it as dying of Jesus. Beloved, we should not be 14:13 you know, we should be aware of this death. It should not just be a mere knowledge. It should become life. If I don't carry the dying of Jesus, I will not be able to manifest the life of 14:33 Jesus. First thing. Another thing. Read in Second Corinthians chapter 3. Verse 18. But we all with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord are 14:52 being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as from the Lord the spirit. The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is mentioned here. It is to show the glory of Jesus. 15:19 And transforming us to the same glory. And the dying of Jesus is between these two. Seeing the glory of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will show us the glory 15:38 of Jesus. It is not to admire. It's for us to partake and to manifest. And in that situation, we need the power of the Holy Spirit. The dying of Jesus in between the two 16:08 things, seeing his glory and being transformed to his glory. And in that situation, I need to die to myself. And all those who don't want to take up 16:28 the dying of Jesus, they do not have the Holy Spirit. And they won't have the anointing. They may think that they have the 16:46 anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let's say you and me that we pray to the Lord. We pray, "Father, anoint me." The Father asks, "Why do you need the Holy Spirit?" Then I answer him saying, "Lord, I need 17:09 to see the glory of Jesus and I need to manifest the glory of Jesus." It's a good desire. Then the Father would ask a follow-up question. Are you willing to die? Are you willing to die? I need to come to that place. When I say, "Yes, I will carry the dying 17:33 of Jesus." Father gives the Holy Spirit. What is my role? It's his enabling. He's the one who gives the Holy Spirit. 17:51 He's the one who shows us the Holy Spirit. He's the one who shows the glory and then the will, the desire, and the deed. Second Corinthians 4:10. Second Corinthians 3:18 and Second 18:09 Corinthians 4:10, both are important verses. I'd like to show a few things from the dying of Jesus. The life of Jesus is like a ocean. And I would like to show a few things. 18:31 First Peter second chapter First Peter chapter 2 verse 23. We can meditate the dying of Jesus. Second First Peter chapter 2 18:50 verse 23. First chapter Peter chapter 2 verse 23. While being reviled, he did not revile in return. We can take two verses together, Isaiah 19:10 53:7 as well. When Jesus Christ was reviled, he did not revile in return. Isaiah [clears throat] 53:7. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, 19:30 yet did he did not open his mouth. Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers. Like a sheep that is silent before its 19:48 shearers, he did not open his mouth. This was his life. Now And now I need to manifest this life. If I don't have the dying of Jesus, I will not be able to partake in this. From a very young age, we need to give a 20:13 good homework for our children. During this vacation, you know, in the month of May, we can give a homework to our children. We can give them a homework to find out 20:31 in all four Gospels all the different names that people, you know, reviled Jesus about. Jesus had so many names. demon possessed deceiver Samaritan drunkard 20:53 so many names All the situations when people called him by different names, how did Jesus react? He did not revile in return. He was in the same flesh as like us. 21:15 He was in the same flesh and he was tempted like us. He did not revile in return. He gave that flesh over to death. There was a death there and that's the 21:33 dying of Jesus. Yes, beloved, the Holy Spirit leads us to that death. before its shearers It may be our name, our fame, or our 21:53 dignity. All such situations are like shearers. How do we react? We raise our voice. Dear sisters, Dear sisters, I've heard many wives telling their 22:15 husbands like this. Because of your anger, you're speaking now. You can speak about me. Now, why do you defame my family? Why do you speak about against my family? Why do you involve my parents here now? Why do you speak against my siblings 22:38 now? And those are the situation where the hair is cut. And immediately we react, respond. Some sisters, they tolerate to the 22:59 extent when they when the other person speak against them. And the husband speak against the wife. But when it comes to the family, they're not able to tolerate. Because of that, I I responded in anger, 23:17 brother. I reviled back. They couldn't control. And some husbands are like this. Family members and all put it this way. 23:37 Just to irritate or make her make the wife upset, they will involve the family things. Are you upset now? Do you have anger now? Yes, you should be angry now. When I speak about the family, now you 23:57 are irritated. Yes, for that only I'm speaking like this. That's the dying of Jesus. That's where we have to see the lamb. Lord, I will die in this situation. Lord, give me the help of the Holy 24:16 Spirit. Revelation chapter 13 Revelation [clears throat] chapter 13 verse 11 verse 11 Revelation chapter 11 And you will read about a beast here. We read about a beast here. We read about a beast here. Isaiah 53:7 or a article to read about 24:33 here. Isaiah 53:7, a lamb Revelation chapter 13 verse 11 Revelation [clears throat] 13:11, we see about a beast. I saw another beast coming up coming up out of the earth and he had two horns like a lamb and he 24:52 spoke as a dragon. It looked like a lamb. It resembled like a lamb. with two horns as well When we see, it looks It looks like a lamb. 25:11 How do we know whether it's a lamb or dragon or a beast? It opens its mouth. The test is here. Whether it's a lamb or a beast, the test 25:30 is when it opens its mouth. When we go through shearing And that is the situation, and that is the situation. That 25:48 situation, we need to look up to Christ. In so many situation, you know, there there was shearing for Jesus. They called him the son of Mary. son of so-and-so Mary If they have to praise Jesus, they will 26:09 call him son of Joseph. If they have to despise him, talk ill of him, they will call him a son of Mary. When they spoke about his mother, about the family, and they were shearing Jesus. 26:28 He did not open his mouth. Yes, beloved, In all such situations, we need to see the glory of Jesus and be transformed into his glory. Okay, Matthew chapter 26:45 27. Matthew [clears throat] chapter 27 chapter 27 verse 12 and 13 and 14 Read from verse 12. Jesus was before Pilate. When he was before the governor, Pilate 27:08 asked him. 13, 14 12, 13, and 14 And while he was being accused by the chief priest and elders, he did not answer. Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not 27:28 hear how many things they testify against you?" And he did not answer him with regard even to a single charge. So, the governor was quite amazed. See the glory of Jesus. And Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear 27:51 how many things they testify against you?" What does it mean? It doesn't enter into the ears of Jesus. Though we read here physically he was standing before Pilate, but he was 28:10 standing before the Father. His ears were open to Father's voice. So many accusations against him did not enter his ear. One of the mark of being filled with the 28:29 Holy Spirit Our ears will not be open to the accusations against us. It won't enter. This is the glory of Jesus. We can come back to this chapter. Isaiah 42, we read about Jesus like 28:52 this. verse 20 verse 20 [clears throat] verse written as a prophecy about Jesus verse 19 and 20 verse 19 and 20 Isaiah 42 42 Isaiah 42 verse 19 and 20 [clears throat] 29:11 Who is blind but my servant? Or so deaf as my messenger whom I sent? Who is so blind as he that is at peace with me? Or so blind as the servant of the Lord? You have seen many things, but you did 29:29 not observe them. Your ears are open, but none hears. good verse See how Jesus lived. His ears were open. But he did not pay attention to any of those. To the accusations, he did not listen. 29:54 Nothing that comes from outside defiles the man. That's what Jesus said. Yes, beloved. Yes, our ears are open. Our eyes are open. But we don't take all of that in. 30:12 That's how Jesus stood before the pilot. For so many accusations, he did not respond. Father, what should I do? And his ears were open to the Father. And yes, beloved, God has kept this life 30:33 for us. So many of us may falsely accuse us. We should not listen to that. I'd like to show this example from the Old Testament. First Samuel chapter 10 When King Saul was anointed 31:05 Holy Spirit came upon him. Uh verse 10:10 we read. 1 1 Samuel 1 Samuel chapter 10 verse 10 there 1 Samuel 10:10 in the middle part we read the spirit of God came upon him mightily. Verse 27 31:30 But certain worthless men said something about Saul. How can this one be this one deliver us? And they despised him and did not bring him any present. We read here in English, but he kept 31:52 silent. But in some translations it's written as he didn't pay any attention. He did not pay any attention. He despised that. And some despised him and spoke ill of him. 32:09 And he did not pay attention. Why? Because the anointing was upon him. This is one of the marks of anointing. When others insult us and despise us 32:31 when they accuse us falsely we won't listen. That's one of the mark. We can go after a few chapters and we can see this. 1 Samuel chapter 16 verse 14 32:52 Now the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. First the spirit of the Lord came upon him. Now the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. Now 1 Samuel chapter 18 33:15 And the women, they sang a song. And they gave David a score of 10,000. For King Saul, they gave him 1,000 score of 1,000. For one, one mark. For the other person, 33:34 10 marks. And the women sang a song. I don't know how it was, which musical instrument they used, but they sang a song. When Saul heard the song 33:57 verse eight Saul became very angry, for this saying displeased him. For me, just 1,000 marks. For David, 10,000 marks. 34:16 And it displeased him. See. Even at the beginning, they insulted him. It did not enter his ear. Even here, they spoke little less of 34:36 him. But now it enters. First, it did not enter. Now it enters. What is the difference? Anointing, that's the difference. Yes, beloved, if we have the anointing whether people praise us or despise us 35:08 if about a brother, about the message or worship or song they somebody praise him That's the test. Praise test. We talk about so many tests, acid test, alkaline test like that. 35:27 We have a test in church. Test of praise. Same test comes to two people. David has the test and Saul had the test. David passed the test. But Saul couldn't tolerate. Yes, beloved, even in the church when 35:51 somebody praises or when somebody, you know despises do we have a irritation and we are angry? When somebody is appointed as for some responsibility somebody is appointed for some 36:12 responsibility and somebody is being lifted up and when somebody is invited for some responsibility if we have the anointing of the Holy Spirit we won't be disturbed. 36:31 But we read about Saul here. We uh pilot in the mall have a lot of false accusations. We looked into the life of Jesus. So many false accusations in front of pilot. He did not respond to any of those. 36:51 Another thing from the life of Jesus Jesus was misunderstood. He would never justify himself. Yes, beloved. And that is from the life of Jesus. 37:13 >> [clears throat] >> I'd like to show two verses. John chapter 7 How he was born. He was born in Bethlehem. We read in verse 41 John chapter 7 41 42 37:41 John 7 41 and 42 Others were saying this is Christ. Still others were saying surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is he? Has not the scriptures said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David and from Bethlehem, the village 37:57 where the David was? Jesus did not immediately start to tell a story. Guys, listen. I will tell a story about how I was born. He wasn't explaining how the king made a 38:21 rule and he went to Bethlehem. He didn't show the birth certificate to prove that he was born in Bethlehem. If you are saying I'm a Galilean, okay, so be it. Okay. So what? Why do we Why do we seek to justify 38:42 ourselves? Beloved, so many things, thousands of things we keep justifying ourselves to others. They called Jesus a drunkard. They called him a glutton. 39:08 But in the secret, he would fast for 40 days. Nobody knew of his fasting. Maximum 40 days of fasting was is recorded in the Bible. But we don't know how many times he 39:26 fasted for 3 days or a week. If Jesus comes for a function like this, event like this if he was served a first serving of biryani he would eat well. biryani If the if it if the they have a lot of 39:49 biryani and they serve him the second time. Okay, and then I'll play it and then I'll play it. You take the second serving as well. Second cup of wine also you'll take. And the group was watching him always. Second serving. So second serving. 40:07 Second cup. That's it. They sealed him. They called him a glutton. They called him a drunkard. Jesus wasn't acting like this. A group is watching whether I'm taking the 40:26 second plate or not. So no, I don't need it. If he's hungry, he'll eat. If food is there, he will eat. There is no acting or pretense in the life of Jesus. All his fasting were in secret life. If you're going to call me a drunkard, 40:47 so be it. You think like that. If you call me a glutton, you can call like that. It's fine. Are you going to call me a Galilean? So be it. Because I fellowship with the 41:11 people who are lowly esteemed in the society, Samaritans. You call me a Samaritan, so be it. It doesn't matter for Jesus. Yes, beloved, we need to come out of that. And that is what it means to partake in his glory. When we are misunderstood in so many 41:31 different things, we shouldn't take this truth to the other extreme. I might have mentioned some things earlier as well. Some [clears throat] righteous men or uh 41:54 brothers are facing sexual harassment, falsely accused sexual harassment cases. And we say, "Brother, give a proper explanation." Submit all your proofs and give a proper 42:14 explanation. Don't take this truth blindly and say, "I won't justify." In even in the church when elders inquire you of some things, present all the facts. Above all, after all of that and above all, if you 42:38 are still misunderstood, leave it to God. Certain things we just can't justify. We need to leave it to God saying, "Lord, you take care." That's how Jesus lived. 42:57 And that is what means to partake in his life. We read about his life so many things. I've gone through so many misunderstandings through this. Even in church things, 43:15 at home with children, place of work, so many things. I'd like to mention one thing as a testimony. >> [clears throat] 43:40 >> Of all the four sons, one of my son's wedding happened in a place. I told them to have a simple decoration in that wedding hall. I didn't want to spend so much on the 44:07 decoration, so I asked them to keep a very minimal decoration. >> [snorts] >> There are some who decorate, you know, very grandly and they get real flowers 44:25 from Ooty so that it smells good. Some are like this who want to conduct the wedding in a grand manner. It's it's enough if it's in a you know ordinary way. Just because God has given us money into 44:46 our hands, we shouldn't spend it lavishly. I asked for a simple decoration. Okay, marriage day but not a marriage or the opinion. >> [clears throat] >> Tomorrow is the day of wedding. Previous day evening, the previous evening in that same mahal, 45:09 there was a different another function. A rich man from the or family function of the A rich man from that city had a function family function there. From [clears throat] the entrance of the 45:31 mahal to the stage, it was fully decorated. Red carpet were laid out till the entrance. Full of lights and flowers and decorations. I go to the mahal at 4:00 p.m. to take 45:51 over the mahal. And it's it was fully decorated. I asked him the decorator, "When are you going to clear up all this?" 46:10 Sir, and he said, "No, from you know, after this we can't clear up everything for your and arrange for your wedding." Sir, and he said, "You can use it all for 46:27 free." You conduct your wedding as a royal wedding. From the entrance, let the decoration be. I pleaded with him, "Please remove it." And I'm also in the flesh. On one hand, 46:49 I'm thinking I shouldn't be a stumbling block to others. Unnecessary a stumbling for others. And I pleaded with him, but he said, "Sir, we are too tired. Please leave it as it is." And I asked him, "Do I need to pay more 47:11 for this?" He said, "No, no need to charge pay anything more." >> [laughter] >> And the stage was so glittery and asked him, "Please at least change this." And I requested him and they changed the 47:29 background of the stage. And that alone they changed it to something simple. They left the others as it is. I made up my mind tomorrow the the next day the wedding is going to be a grand wedding. Everyone came. 47:48 Everybody came. Relatives are there. Job or works workplace People from the place of work, relatives, and people from church, everyone are there. >> [laughter] 48:10 >> You can imagine how everybody spoke of that. Brother, brother, royal wedding. For all of this, you know, how much did you spend for the decoration alone? For just this decoration, would you have 48:30 spent a lakh or 1 and 1/2 lakh, brother? What should what shall we say? >> [laughter] >> Can I go tell story to everyone explaining what happened? >> [laughter] >> Should I now go to the mic and say 48:50 announce it for all saying, "Don't judge me. This is what happened." Should look into Jesus. Same wedding, another thing happened. We have our own car. We have the car 49:09 here. We have our own car. >> [laughter] >> A brother had just bought a new car and during that wedding and he didn't even 49:28 register the car. He he hasn't got the number plate yet. There's no number plate. I have I had a car, too. I have the >> [clears throat] >> And it's one of the, you know, young boy 49:46 who grew up with my sons. And he said, "Uncle, instead of using your car, let's use my car. It's a new car. We can decorate my car." Bring the bridegroom, we can use my car 50:07 instead. I said, "Okay." It didn't strike me, so I said, "It's fine." A new car without a number plate is standing at the entrance. Everybody connected that. 50:25 You you would have also got what I was trying to say. They started asking this, also. Oh, he got it from girl's place? After this only I have to register, right? 50:43 What am I going to say? Should I say yes or no? >> [clears throat] >> In one marriage, so much of misunderstanding. Some things we can, you know, justify. 51:04 Some things we have to leave it. Should look into Jesus. You can continue in the next session. Amen. Amen. >> [clears throat] >> I'd like to invite I 51:41 I thank [clears throat] God for the opportunity that God gave me to take part in this conference. I praise [clears throat] God for the glorious truths that I heard. Started from 2 Corinthians chapter 4, 52:05 verse 10 onwards. Always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus. We read that so that the life of Jesus 52:24 also may be manifested in our body. We [clears throat] read the same thing in the next verse, as well. When brother Zach spoke in the morning, 52:41 he spoke on how What are the areas that we can show the manifest the glory of Jesus. Jesus' humility. His obedience. The word of God he always our 53:04 How Jesus realized that he can live only by through the word of word from God, and how he knew the word of God. And like brother mentioned, when we are falsely when we are misunderstood, that 53:24 we take it. >> [clears throat] >> In all these things, this is how I see it. It is impossible to please him without faith. We read this verse in Hebrews 11 53:44 6. Hebrews 11, verse 6. And without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Okay. We heard that we have to be humble, and 54:11 like Jesus how Jesus was humble. If you are a disciple of Jesus, we need to pay the cost for everything. If we are humble, what will happen? You can read Acts 8, verse 33. 54:33 Acts 8:33. In humiliation, his judgment was taken away. When he humbled himself, his his judgment or his uh not taken away. His judgment was taken away. Like 54:57 how brother mentioned, many see it, and they understand it wrongly. If we give an explanation, everybody will get the message. But on the other hand, if we humble 55:18 ourselves and say, "I don't need to please everyone. I want to live before God." The misunderstanding will not be limited to that place. It will just go on. >> [clears throat] 55:39 >> When we humble ourselves, this is what will happen. When we humble ourselves, our judgment will be taken away. In the world, they sacrifice goat. 56:01 Even in the Bible, we read about that. If we have to sacrifice a lion or a tiger, we can't sacrifice it. We will be, you know, eaten up. If you are roaring like lion, we will 56:23 get the judgment. But if you are like a lamb and keep our mouth quiet, we will our justice will be taken away. Our Lord Jesus Christ was put on the 56:45 cross unjustly. Our why moody moment of render. When there were so many false accusations against him, he kept his mouth quiet. So, what happened? His justice was taken away. 57:04 He was crucified on the cross. What is the reason that he was quiet even up to the cross? He was so sure nothing will happen to 57:24 me, or nobody can do anything to me without God's permission, without my father's permission. That is what we read in Hebrews 11:6. It's impossible to please him without faith. So, our God is almighty. God is almighty. 57:44 When all this were happening, this is the faith that God is almighty. Without his permission, nothing will happen in my life. No one could touch me. 57:59 All my hairs on my head are numbered. In the Old Testament, David when Shimei called him the son of wicked and threw stone at him. The men with David, they asked him, "Why 58:27 is this dead dog shouting at you? Just order us, we will bring his head." David responded saying, "God had permitted it. You don't do anything. Be quiet." This is faith. If we don't have faith on the Lord, we 58:52 will not be able to humble ourselves, and we will not be able to pay the cost for it. Many But many times we are misunderstood. Like brother said, we can't go explain ourselves to others. Because of that, our name 59:11 may be damaged. Sometimes we rebuke others, and we give them advice. Our intention is to restore them so that 59:30 they will not go into sin. But they will misunderstand us. If we humble ourselves and keep quiet, 59:46 false stories will be spread about us. John 5:34 we read like this. Your approval or disapproval is nothing to me. One translation puts it like this, your 1:00:07 approval or disapproval, it it is not important for me. Another translation says the testimony which I receive is not from man. Because Jesus always lived before the 1:00:25 Father. Others opinion, it did not affect him. If we live before God, we will have this attitude. Let others say whatever they want to say about us. We read in Matthew like this, those who 1:00:46 are pure in heart are blessed are those who are pure in heart for they shall see God. When we are misunderstood at sometimes. When we humble ourselves and our justice is taken away. When we don't get the respect or 1:01:08 recognition that we should get. When we are despised. When our counseling or advice are not taken properly. There is a battle or strife that starts 1:01:27 inside. Not good at the bottom. A strife against the flesh and the spirit. Like brother mentioned, without the Holy Spirit, we can't have the victory. Holy Spirit gives us the power. 1:01:50 Then only we can live a life where we are not shaken. Lord, without your permission, nothing will happen in my life. When people insult me. When I don't get the proper recognition. 1:02:12 When my counselings are despised. Lord, you allowed all of this. When we start looking at people and say this person, this person, this person is the reason for that. That's the time we should 1:02:36 you know, believe in God's almighty. Lord, without your permission, nothing will happen to me. Whatever you permit, Lord, comes to me. 1:02:53 Let it come to me. When God wants us to take through such a test, we should accept it wholeheartedly. So Jesus had a complete faith on the 1:03:15 how God is almighty. His power and his authority. So If we have to come to that life, we have 1:03:35 to start in small things. In small things, we should have tasted God's love and how compassionate that he is towards me. Psalm 34 verse 8, we read like this. Taste and see that the Lord is good. We use this word taste and see for food. 1:04:10 If we draw a beautiful picture of a good fruit and explain it, we will think or imagine something else. There are so many different varieties of mango and it with good taste. If I bring a new variety of mango and 1:04:39 display it on the projector and explain how what what the taste is, we will start imagining the mangoes that we have tasted. On the other hand, if I pass on a small piece and say taste and see. I don't know words not explain when I would yet. 1:04:58 We couldn't explain through words. The The God's word, you know, the famine for God's word is found in other churches. But in our churches, the surplus for 1:05:17 surplus of word. But there is a famine for life. Because we haven't tasted God yet. When we start to taste 1:05:40 God's goodness and his concern towards us in small things. Our faith towards God will continue to increase. Jesus Christ was with the thieves on the 1:05:58 cross. When his body was, you know, put on the tomb, it was one of the richest man's tomb. Brother said I wanted to conduct a simple wedding. He said how his son's wedding turned out 1:06:25 to be, you know, all the decorations turned out to be one of the richest man in that city. This is how God God would have wanted to honor his child. It was God's will that Jesus had to die 1:06:47 on the cross, so she had so he had to go through that shame. He died on a shameful cross and he rose up from a rich man's tomb. Just because he had a 1:07:09 shameful death on the cross, it does it's it's not that Jesus God had abandoned him. No. God proved through the resurrection that I glorified Jesus. Even though he was died on the cross, it 1:07:32 it's not that Jesus had God was God had left him. And apostles like Paul had tasted. Same words that brother read, I will read it in another translation. This 1:07:54 Troubles all around us. And because of that, we are not defeated. And sometimes we didn't know what to do. But we never stopped trying. Why? 1:08:15 Because the God who had called me is faithful. He will never leave me. That faith. When we don't have that living faith in 1:08:33 us at times of trials, we try once, we try again. After that, we leave it. We are punished. But God will never leave. Sometimes we are thrown away. But we are not destroyed. 1:08:56 We carry the death of Jesus in our own bodies. So that the life of Jesus can also be manifested in our bodies. And brother Zach spoke in the morning, 1:09:15 he spoke about obedience as the second thing. Obedience means suffering. Obedience means suffering. We read in Hebrews 5:8. Hebrews 5:8. 1:09:36 >> [sighs] >> When obedience meant suffering. One translation puts it like this, obedience means suffering. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from the things which he suffered. Like how brother Zach explained 1:10:05 from the life of Jesus, how Jesus our children like to batting and the time came for batting, mother of Jesus called Jesus. In an interesting situation when he had 1:10:26 to go and obey, Jesus had to suffer inside. If you had said no, I can't come, that's all. If we refuse to obey, there is no suffering. We need to obey, there should be a death 1:10:45 inside. Saying no to my will. What is death? Saying no to my will. When I put my desires and my wants on 1:11:06 the cross, there is so much of disappointing inside. And I sacrifice all of that, that is what is called dying to self. Galatians 2:20, we read like this. 1:11:26 Galatians 2:20, I have been [snorts] crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself up up for 1:11:43 me. If [clears throat] Christ through spirit lives in me, then his life can be manifested outside. That's why Paul realized this and wrote 1:12:07 to Galatians and Corinthians. Obedience means suffering. Humbling means Our justice is taken away. Jesus knew all of that. 1:12:24 Paul knew all of that. But Paul never stopped trying. Because he he knew whom he believed. Hebrews chapter 10. Verse 8, we read like this. 1:12:47 Hebrews 10:38, but my righteousness My righteous one shall live by faith. And if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him. Only those who have faith on me can live 1:13:07 this life. Righteous one shall live by faith. Righteous one the We heard from brother this morning, 1:13:26 righteous will live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. For for us to do anything in this world, we need money. When we don't have money, we will not be 1:13:43 able to do something. Man should not live by bread alone, but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. What does it mean? By faith, he 1:14:02 will move on. Hebrews 13. Verse 5 and 6. Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have, for he himself said, I will never desert you nor will I 1:14:21 forsake you. >> [clears throat] >> So that we can confidently say, the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me? Deuteronomy 31:6-8 and Joshua 5, we read 1:14:41 the same thing. Joshua 1:5, we read about the same thing. Other places we read that you don't you don't need to be afraid for men. Here we read that free be free from the love of 1:14:59 money. Because he himself has said, I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you. What is important here is the faith upon God. Oh, I don't have money, how will I 1:15:19 educate my children? There's no savings for me, how will I get my children married? When we are tempted like this in our hearts. I should work like others and do 1:15:38 business like others and earn money. It's working and earning money, it's not it's not bad. But it's not just money alone. That's why James says, for everything 1:15:58 time and the work of God. Many earn money, but they don't get good partners. I've seen in my own town that they have 1:16:15 studied well, but earn very less. Even after studying PhD, they earn very less. Those who have failed in teacher training and later passed, they earn a good living. For everything, we we we need to have 1:16:41 the time and God's deed, God's work. By faith, righteous will live. The God is an almighty, all powerful God. He's a loving God. He loves me just as 1:17:02 he loved Jesus. Like Peter says, he because he takes care of you, leave all your burdens upon him. Yes, beloved, we believe in God, but 1:17:22 have we tasted him? If we start to taste him in small small things, then our faith will continue to grow even for big things. In my life, I have seen in my own life, 1:17:43 my family life and the life of the children, the faith starts to increase from small small things. I was considering marriage for my daughter. Some proposals came. I asked my daughter, there's so many 1:18:05 proposals, which one you would like to consider? My daughter knew my financial situation, so she asked me, why are you in a hurry? Will you be able to spend for my marriage? She said, I am ready to wait. I can 1:18:28 earn, then we can I can get married. I told her, you God will meet the need. You do your duty, yes or no, that's your duty. I told her, at that time, whatever I 1:18:48 need, God will provide. So, I've got my both children married and I built my own house, but I never got into debt. Because the 1:19:08 God whom I believed, he never left me. Like Elijah got it got the food through crows. >> through crows. And God stopped that because he would 1:19:28 start believing in the ravens and not on God. Ravens, they usually eat the flesh. Can we expect a raven to give bread to a man? What is impossible to man is possible with God. You know what you know what 1:19:47 you know What is impossible with man is possible with God. What man could not even imagine God could do. Like how God sent Elijah to a 1:20:08 widow. It was a great famine there. There was little flour and oil and she was collecting wood to for fire. What will I say? Oh, she's such a widow, 1:20:29 poor widow, and she doesn't have anything. What am I going to do and ask her? She's already dying. She's saying all that I have is this. After this I will die. And let's leave what God can do, but do 1:20:50 we have the faith to go and tell that? All that I have is this. Now I will eat and die. And how can I go and say give that bread to me? Will we not ask God, Lord, do you do you 1:21:12 not have any other place? Why should you send me to such a place? But he, prophet, believed what God said, and she believed in what prophet had said. Because she believed she was blessed. 1:21:34 That's how Elizabeth appreciated Mary's faith. To to remain in humility, we need to pay the pay a cost. And to obey, we need to pay a cost. In the same way, to believe in God's 1:22:03 word and to put our trust in God, we need to pay a cost. Yes, beloved, we've been hearing so many things. We heard in the morning brother Zach 1:22:30 saying, don't allow your children to talk badly about or accuse about teachers or elders. Once [clears throat] my son came to me 1:22:51 and said, "Daddy, my math teacher is always saying I'll kick you out of the class with his shoe, with his boots." I asked him, "Did he tell you?" No. I told him, "You do your work." You don't need to, you know, talk for 1:23:16 other children. If he had told you, you can tolerate it and move on, but if he has not told you, then leave it and move on. Both of them studied in a Roman Catholic school. My daughter studied in a Roman Catholic school. 1:23:36 They had catechism class. And alternative for that is a moral instruction. So I told them I told them you don't need to go for catechism class, but go 1:23:55 for moral instruction class. Catechism class or no Bible and you don't know the teachers would started to insult them. They would make them stand up and ask question from the Bible. Oh, you know everything from 1:24:15 Bible? You won't come for catechism class? There's so many instances happened like that. My daughter will come and tell me with pain, and it may be even a physics class and they would ask questions like 1:24:33 this. And in school they take children for sports or games. So they asked to 1:24:51 participate in a particular team. So I told her because of the government examinations coming, don't take part in a special sports event. You can go in 1:25:10 your usual PT hours for sports. So even in the PT hour when daughter goes for sports, and the teacher would say because you didn't come for that 1:25:29 event, you can't come play here. Go out. They would insult her. Never once I went to the school for my children asking, "Why are you doing like 1:25:47 this?" Like brother said, when they say something about teachers, I will always say obey. I won't defend. But now when I see it's going well with 1:26:06 them. Like this we are hearing living truths, living words in the church. Practical application of biblical truth. We don't hear or see outside about the 1:26:30 practical applications of the truths that we hear. That is what we hear here, manifesting the life of Jesus, how he was in his 1:26:49 humility, in his obedience, in his faith. For all of that we need to pay a cost. If I don't pay the cost, I can't be a disciple. The first step of salvation is free. 1:27:07 But discipleship but for discipleship I need to pay a cost. To be to remain in humility, I need to pay a cost. To obey, I need to pay a cost. To trust in the Lord 1:27:28 and to have this faith, I need to pay the cost. We can't say just because I'm righteous, God will immediately answer my prayer. Sometimes immediately the doors are opened. Sometimes like we read in Ephesians 1:27:53 3:20, even beyond our thinking and asking, things happen. But sometimes like brother Zach mentioned about his testimony, how he wanted to come out of navy, he had to repeatedly give the letter. Even if it's God's will, there is God's 1:28:20 time. For everything there is a time. Till then our faith will be tested. Yes, Joseph was a righteous man. Until that time. Until the time 1:28:39 that God had appointed for him, there was so many trials. An appointed time came, God lifted him up. Till the time comes God had prepared 1:29:01 what he has prepared for us, we need to endure with patience. If we die with him, we can live with a resurrection power of resurrection. So, manifesting the life of Christ 1:29:27 Where is it Where does it start the manifesting the life of Jesus? It starts with dying. Dying is not the end for us. Manifesting the life of Jesus is the end. For that, I need to believe in God's 1:29:50 power and authority and his love and I should have tasted it in my own life. I read what it I mean close relationship. So, that's why we read what is eternal 1:30:08 life? Knowing Jesus and the one who had sent him. But, what is What does it mean? It's having a close relationship. So, let us taste and see the Lord is good. Yes, let's taste and see the Lord is good. God bless. Brothers and sisters, let's uh 1:30:43 bow our heads and pray. And examine our heart. Is this the anointing which we've been seeking for? There was no flutter in Jesus' heart, no matter what he went through. Our gracious heavenly Father, we 1:31:01 thank you for showing us the our Lord Jesus Christ more clearly. Thank you for showing us his footsteps, Lord. And Lord, lead us to that life which nothing will shake us. Give us that unshakeable life. Fill us, Lord Jesus, with the power of 1:31:20 the anointing of the Holy Spirit that we may walk the days which are left for us in the footsteps of Jesus, beholding him and walking in his footsteps. Thank you. We thank you, Father, for blessing us with your word from above. 1:31:38 Thank you in Jesus' precious and mighty name we pray. Amen. Brother Charles, uh over to you. Yeah, before that, Brother Charles, uh Um dear brothers and sisters, it is 1:32:15 um a glorious thing what we hear in this church. This is one of the reasons why I joined CFC 45 46 years back because it is very practical. 1:32:35 It helps me live day-to-day life. It's not that we just come to Sunday meeting on the chair and listen to some pep talk and go back home and then live 1:32:53 just like anybody else without being changed week after week and then taking up the cross day by day and being changed 1:33:11 from glory to glory. This is what the real Christian life is. It's not just that we come sing some songs and put some money in the offering box and listen to some inspiring 1:33:29 pep talk motivational speech and then go back home and live unchanged. That is not the way. And those of you who've been coming here for decades, some of you know, I don't say all of 1:33:49 you. Some of our lives have been changed. And uh it has gone from glory to glory. We are very thankful to God for all that that God has brought us to the right place. 1:34:09 And uh specially yesterday I was talking to somebody. I was telling um if it was not for CFC, I believe many of our married life would have collapsed. 1:34:28 We would have ended up many couples would have ended up in divorce like we see in different churches. But, the very fact that so many families are being preserved, kept, and children 1:34:45 growing in the fear of the Lord and serving the Lord is the teaching that we receive here in the church. And uh like that, many of you can testify about your families that your families have 1:35:03 been blessed and your husband-wife relationship is a blessing and your children are a blessing not only to you at home, but also to other young people. So, uh we are so happy that um 1:35:19 God has kept us in the church and 2 days back um brother uh John Pereira, he and his wife completed 25 years of married life. That's a silver jubilee. 1:35:38 And we congratulate them. And uh as a token of our love and appreciation, we would like to call upon them and come and cut the cake. So, can I uh 1:35:57 ask John and Rita and Mahima and Mandira, their two uh precious daughters, to come up here um so that we can give glory to God. We were hearing the test comes in 1:36:35 various ways. So, I I was not anticipating. No, I I truly say what endorses what Brother Charles said. I was telling him yesterday. Yesterday [clears throat] was our 25th anniversary. Um if not for the church, I don't know 1:36:53 whether I would have uh means what would have been my life. Uh many wished me, thanked me for >> [clears throat] >> many things what I've been, but I truly say I'm a product of a church. Um because it's like uh morning I was telling one brother, this 1:37:12 hand may be doing so many things, but this hand is supported by whole body. And uh this [clears throat] la- hand is living for the body. As long as hand is living for the body, the body takes care of the hand. And if this hand is removed and kept 1:37:28 away, within short time it will die. That's how I feel. I've been grateful and my wife and children are grateful that we are in the church and we are protected by the body of Christ. I'm grateful. We'll sing 1:37:49 the birthday song I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm growing young. >> [laughter] >> So, is there a anniversary song? 1:38:04 No. Is there any anniversary songs? Happy anniversary, yeah. Let's replace that happy birthday. All our greetings. 1:38:43 Okay, we'll start with all our greetings today. Okay. All our greetings >> [singing] >> today. May God bless [music] you, we pray. [singing] May God bless you, Jesus, your brother and sister. >> [music] 1:39:01 >> May he [singing] guide you always. Happy anniversary to you. Happy anniversary [music and singing] to you. To Jesus >> [singing] >> be true. >> [singing and music] [singing] 1:39:29 [music] >> Thank you, brothers, for the modified song. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. >> [applause] 1:40:08 >> Feed the children, also. We will pray for them and commit them to the Lord, and 1:40:27 after this, we have a brief uh video greetings from brother Zach and brother Newton. They That will just take a couple of minutes. We won't hold you much. Let's pray. Thank you, Father, for this day, and thank you for 1:40:46 your goodness and mercy towards each one of us and our families. Thank you for the very practical words that we receive from you and from those who have gone ahead of us. We want to thank you, Father, for your 1:41:06 faithfulness, for your goodness, for your keeping, for your provision, for your sustai- sustaining us, and preserving us from all harm, danger, accidents. Thank you for 1:41:23 enabling us, each one of us, to know you better and better every day. Lord Jesus, we pray that you will bless our brother John and sister Rita and their children, this family. Bless them with the blessing of the Lord 1:41:42 that makes them spiritually rich, adds no sorrow to it. We pray that you will provide for all their needs, and that you will fill them with the Holy Spirit, that they will be effective in your kingdom. Lord Jesus, bless them in the days 1:42:01 ahead, that they will be a greater blessing to your people. Thank you for this time. Thank you for your word. You bless you, praise you in Jesus' precious name. Amen. Sister Annie, can you please come up and 1:42:31 give this bouquet to sister Rita? Our dear John and Rita, we, Zach and 1:43:27 Annie, wish you both a very happy and blessed 25th wedding anniversary. We pray that the Lord will give you both a long life and many more happy returns of this day. We are very thankful to the Lord that he brought you both to CFC. 1:43:46 And we are also very thankful for the wonderful service you have given to CFC and to us during all these many years. Personally, I, Zach, am deeply thankful to you, John, for all the help you have 1:44:03 given me in my ministry in CFC, and in my correspondence with all our churches and the elders and facilitators. My work has been made so much easier because of you. You have never let me down even once in 1:44:23 any matter. You have always been consistently efficient and prompt in all that you have done. Your maintenance of the CFC correspondence with thousands of people in all these years since you started 1:44:39 your work in CFC has been superb. You have done all your work without a single fault or slip-up in all these years. That is a remarkable testimony for anyone working in a busy office. 1:44:57 Your work, John, as a CFC elder, has also been excellent. You have been a true shepherd, knowing the condition of each member of the church, and caring for and helping everyone, especially the weaker ones. 1:45:15 I have total confidence in you as a CFC elder. And sister Rita, we praise the Lord that you have always been willing to be in the background, quietly supporting John from behind the scenes, never wanting any prominence in the 1:45:32 church. I clearly remember when John was made an elder, and I asked you to come and sit with him in the front row. You declined, and said that you would rather sit behind with your children. That was a great testimony to your 1:45:50 humility. Thank you for supporting John so well from behind the scenes, that he has been free to do so much for the church. The Lord will reward you for all your sacrifices one day. And John and Rita, 1:46:08 both of you together have raised two exemplary young daughters in Mahima and Mandira, both of whom have such a blessed, meek, and quiet spirit. Both your daughters are a wonderful example for all our young sisters in CFC 1:46:27 to follow. Praise the Lord. All in all, you have been an outstanding example as a family, and we in CFC are proud of you all. May the Lord bless you with the blessing of the Lord that is rich, and that has 1:46:46 no sorrow in it. With our love in Christ, and with deep appreciation for both of you, your brother and sister in Christ, Zach and Annie Poonen. Wish you a very happy 25th wedding 1:47:16 anniversary. I have good memories of your wedding day. May the Lord bless both of you and your daughters on this special day. Have a grand celebration with deep joy and gratitude. I appreciate your help in numerous ways, 1:47:30 like booking train tickets for me, translating for me, and in many other ways during conferences, etc., for several years. You have always been ready and willing to help others in many practical ways. That is amazing. I'm glad to see your daughters studying 1:47:45 well. It is a great milestone to complete 25 years of marriage. May the Lord lead you from glory to glory, and lead you to greater heights. With love and regards, Newton and Deborah. Uh we'll have the announcements at the 1:48:15 end of the session.
