These verses that we read from verse 32 and 42, 24:44 they consider all these seven things as foundational doctrines and they teach them. In verse 40, he also says, with many other words, he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation." Those who heard these words of Peter, they were saved and thus the first church was born. 25:52 Peter is saying, "Be saved from the Holy Spirit." Peter here solemnly testified about this also to be saved from this perverse generation. And it was those people who took baptism and were part of the church. 26:14 In Philippians chapter 2 and verse 14, again there we read about... "Do all things without grumbling and disputing so that you will prove yourself to be blameless." 26:48 There are three things that are mentioned here, that you should be blameless, that you should be innocent, that you should be innocent, that you should be innocent. 27:17 And you should be about reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. In verse 46 of chapter 2, it is mentioned that they gathered together and with gladness and sincerity of heart, they broke bread from house to house. 31:17 So when we put all these things together, what was the purpose of God that the first century church received? But in the fourth century, a heathen king, Constantine, he made Christianity the official religion. 33:16 And during that time, all these truths were diluted and neglected. And neglected. Satan realized that, through tribulation, he was unable to stop this message of God, but he thought he will join along and dilute it and stop it. 33:45 So a king in fourth century, he himself without getting converted, he made this Christianity an official religion. But we cannot stop, we cannot stop, we cannot stop God's work in this way. 34:15 But then we see that God raised Martin Luther with these truths of faith and justification through faith, etc. 34:40 Then Anabaptists came up with the baptism in water. John Wesley came up with the teaching of holiness. Baptism in the Holy Spirit also came back. Is that all? There are some more things that we mentioned earlier. 36:05 They also have to be part of this Christian life. When we study the history of Israel, we know that they have seven feasts. Out of these seven feasts, there are three feasts which are very important. 36:34 Three most important feasts. And if we consider these feasts, we will be able to study something about the church history also through them. The first is the feast of Passover. 36:55 And the feast of Pentecost is the second important feast. And the third important feast is the feast of Tabernacle. The first feast, the Passover feast is symbolic of salvation. 37:22 The first feast is symbolic of salvation. The first feast is the first feast. The first feast is symbolic of salvation. There are two characteristics of all these feasts that these Israelites received. The first characteristic is that it is prophetic. 37:43 And the second characteristic is that it is progressive. The second characteristic is that it is progressive. The Israelites celebrated the Passover feast and the feast of the Pentecost. 38:06 But I say that is prophetic because so later on this symbolizes the Passover feast symbolizes salvation. And the feast of the Pentecost symbolizes the baptism of the Holy Spirit. After these two feast, there is the feast of the Pentecost. 38:29 After these two feasts, there is another important feast and that is the feast of Tabernacle. If we look at the history of Israel, we see that during the sojourn and the desert, they did not get an opportunity to celebrate the feast of Tabernacle. 38:52 But when they reached Canaan, we read that they celebrated this feast of Tabernacle. 39:13 So we read in the book of Nehemiah, chapter 8, verse 1 to 18, we read the whole story about how they celebrated this feast. If Passover feast is symbolic of salvation and if the feast of Pentecost is symbolic of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the feast of the Tabernacle symbolizes a life of rest, a life of victory. 39:51 The feast of Canaan was celebrated in Canaan. The feast of Tabernacle was celebrated in Canaan. And what is Canaan? In Malayalam, there are a lot of suffering in Canaan. 40:16 In Malayalam, there are a lot of songs referring to Canaan and all these songs, the meaning that is communicated through the songs is that we will reach heaven, a beautiful place. Canaan with Canaan. Canaan has significance in the life of a believer at this particular time. 40:46 Neglecting that many people think that the rest in Canaan is the life in the heaven. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. 41:06 Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. Canaan. What is this rest symbolic of? This rest, that means it is a life of freedom from sin. It's a life of victory over sin. 41:44 What is it that is taking away our rest and our peace? It is our sin and our self-life. Many who have taken this freedom from sin seriously have not even heard of this freedom from self. 42:22 In verse 9 of Hebrews chapter 4, it is written that there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 42:50 And in verse 12, we read about the word of God, which is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, and then bringing about the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 43:18 The fact that they celebrated this Feast of Tabernacle in Canaan signifies that to be a life of rest, a life that is free from sin and a life that is free from self. Many of the evangelical churches around us, their understanding of these truths are limited till the Feast of Pentecost. 44:03 They don't go beyond that. But there is another Feast that is beyond the Feast of Pentecost and that is the Feast of Tabernacle. We just saw that that also signifies a life of victory. 44:33 So, we can get more clarity about this when we read Joshua 3 verses 3 to 5. So, there we see that when they entered Canaan, so the ark of God is going ahead of them. 45:06 So, they crossed over and then they went looking at the Ark of the Covenant. It is the Ark of the Covenant that went ahead of them and divided Jordan. The people went across behind this Ark of the Ark of the Covenant. 45:34 The people went across behind this Ark of the Covenant. And Joshua was their leader. It was from this name of Joshua that Jesus also got his name. 45:58 Dear brothers, what does it mean for us to look at God? In John's Gospel 1 and chapter, verse 18, we read, 46:27 There it is, no one has seen God, but the only begotten of God who is in the bosom of the Father. He has explained it. If the Old Testament Israelites, they crossed over Jordan by looking at the Ark of the Covenant, 46:56 For us, the New Testament Christians, we have to cross over and enter into this life of rest by looking at Jesus. 47:17 Here in Hebrews chapter 12, verse 1 also, we are exhorted to run our race. Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. 47:40 When we look at Jesus, what is the main thing that we get? By looking at Jesus, we get transformed into his image. 48:05 We read in Philippians chapter 2, verse 5 onwards, How about how we have this attitude in yourself, which was also in Christ Jesus. What was the attitude that Christ had? Humility. 48:33 God has called us, predestined us, to be conformed to the image of his son, Romans 8, 29. And that is why he has called us. So, when we look at Jesus, there, it also signifies, it also indicates that we have to be disciples. 48:57 In Luke 14, verses 25 to 36, we read about the life of a disciple. 49:23 There are a lot of spiritual experiences that we can think of, when we look at Jesus. 49:44 It is when we look at Jesus, that we are challenged to walk the way of the cross. So, in Luke's gospel, we read, if anyone needs to be the disciple, he has to take up his cross and follow after me. 50:07 When we look at the ark, or we can say, when we look at Jesus and enter into this life of rest, we have seen that we have to be conformed to the image of his son. 50:36 We are to be a disciple, and we have to walk the way of the cross. In 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 10, Paul describes beautifully, how the life is manifested by taking up this cross. 51:05 So, we can also see that when a person has really seen God, he also becomes broken. A person, such a person, such a person, like we heard in the morning from Brother Santip, so he will fall at his feet, and he will fall at his feet. 51:43 He has seen me, cannot live, that is what God said to Moses, in Exodus 33 and 20. Whatever experiences that we have, after having seen Jesus, if we have not experienced this, experienced brokenness in our life, whatever we have learned so far is just knowledge in our head. 52:27 We just, now we heard what Brother Parishutham spoke, and what Brother Zach subsequently spoke. Such happiness can only be compared to the plastic flowers which does not have any fragrance. 1:05:02 So if we summarize what we said thus far, we can say that in the feast of tabernacle there is victory of sin. True brokenness is also there. greater sensitivity to sin is there. Real joy is also there. 1:05:53 So this is like a rainbow with different colors. So this all signifies a life of victory, a life of freedom and this is what the feast of tabernacle signifies. 1:06:20 So if we tell about these things to the people around us, they will be surprised. They immediately ask, so brother is it possible for us to have victory over sin? 1:06:45 So if we say that we are predestined to be confirmed to the image of a son, they will immediately say, Jesus, he was God. And something similar to the last generation and the first generation. 1:16:09 The first generation was a very privileged generation that walked with Jesus. The Holy Spirit came and the church began. But as we heard, the church went into decline. The worldliness came and within 300 years the whole thing had gone right into darkness. 1:16:32 And it remained in darkness. History says there was a long period of the dark ages, right up until the 1500s. When the church was persecuted, it was powerful. But then the devil found persecution is not killing the church, so he made the church prosperous. 1:16:56 And it sank to death. Finally, God began to raise up, as we heard, Martin Luther, and then began a revival from the 1500s. Little by little, truths that had been buried for years, which were in the Bible, slowly began to be recovered. 1:17:20 And one of the things that brought the recovery was the invention of the printing press. The printing press, the first book that was printed was the Bible. But then people began to get a copy of the Bible. And as people read it, truths that the Roman Catholic Church and the Popes had hidden for so long began to be recovered. 1:17:43 That's how Martin Luther brought forth the truth of justification by faith. He got it from scripture. And that's how John Wesley, you heard of, recovered. And that's how the truth of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and all came up. 1:18:00 And God has gradually been recovering truth and has brought us now, I believe, to the full understanding of the whole purpose of God. He should have been buried for so many centuries, but little by little by little by recovered. 1:18:15 Understanding of the church, the body of Christ. And the importance of being broken. And what the kingdom of God really is. What does it mean when it says you must seek the kingdom of God first? 1:18:35 For many years I used to think that means going out and do missionary work. Seek the kingdom of God first and go out and bring souls to Christ. But that's because, you know, I was using my own understanding of what kingdom of God meant. 1:18:50 But when I studied scripture, I found the kingdom of God was defined in Romans 14:17. So this is what I'm supposed to seek first. Romans 14:17. The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking. It's not evangelism. 1:19:11 It's not any of these things. It is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament, they had righteousness. But it was not accompanied by peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 1:19:31 It was a stern, serious righteousness. But the righteousness in the kingdom of God brings peace. First of all, peace with God. Perfect peace. That means I have no fear when I come to God. 1:19:52 I am absolutely at peace because the blood of Jesus has brought peace between me and God. And secondly, peace in my heart from all the turmoils, the problems of earth. Freedom, complete freedom from anxiety. This is the kingdom of God. 1:20:10 And third, peace with people. That I don't have a fight with anybody. I don't hate anyone. I've forgiven everyone. I don't have a conflict with anyone. I mean, they may hate me. I can't do anything about that. But I have peace. 1:20:30 This is the kingdom of God. Jesus said, seek the kingdom of God first. Then all these other earthly things you need will be added to you according to your need. So you need to understand what the Lord is restoring in our time. 1:20:44 He's teaching us what the kingdom of God is. That righteousness which brings peace in our heart. Perfect peace with God with zero condemnation, zero discouragement. I never lived like that for many years. I used to be so discouraged sometimes after being born again. 1:21:05 Condemning myself. I want to tell you it's gone. I can't remember how many years ago last I got discouraged. Was it 20 years ago? I don't know. It's gone. It's gone completely. I stand as a testimony to it. 1:21:25 It can be yours. If that's what you're seeking first. If you're seeking advancement in the world and money and the honor of men. Well, I hope God can bless you in some way. But you're missing the main thing. I would urge all of you. 1:21:42 God has restored truth as we heard. Has brought us to the place of the kingdom of God. Righteousness with perfect peace. That I can walk into God's presence anytime. Anytime. Never a cloud between me and God. 1:22:03 Perfect peace with God. Being justified by faith. We have peace with God. It says in Romans 5:1. We preach that. That I'm clothed with Christ. What does it mean to be clothed with Christ? That when I come before God. He cares for all my needs. He's making everything work for my good. Why should I worry then? 1:23:01 He will never allow me to be tested beyond my ability. Every. No weapon formed against me will prosper. Roman. Isaiah 54 verse 17. Amazing promises. Perfect peace. 1:23:22 About life on this earth. I don't know what lies tomorrow. That God has already known and planned it. For me. Ensured that it will never be too much for me. That. If there's a Lord there. He'll give me grace to equal it. 1:23:39 That's why we have peace. In relation to circumstances. And. Peace in relation to people. The Bible says. The Bible says pursue peace with all men. That means you must. I can say this. Never. For a single moment. To have a bitterness against any human being. 1:23:58 You think in my 76 years. Nobody's done harm to me. By the time you're five years old itself. People have done harm to you. But. I can stand before God and say this. Not a single human being. Has ever been able to harm me. 1:24:15 In my life. Everything they do. Did work for my good. What shall I say to people who worked for my good. Thank you. To people who did harm for me. It worked for my good. Thank you. Somebody who tried to do evil to me. Without peace with other men. A righteousness with anxiety. It is the righteousness of the old covenant. You haven't got the real thing. You're fooling yourself. 1:26:23 But because you're righteous. You're not telling lies. You're paying your taxes. And you set things right. And everything. You're righteous. No. But is it with peace in your heart? You have peace with all men? Are you free from anxiety? 1:26:33 That's the righteousness of the new covenant. And secondly. Do you have a joy? Can you rejoice in the Lord 24/7? 24 hours a day. Seven days a week. That's the meaning of always. You know Philippians 4:4? Read up. There are two things you must look up. 1:26:53 Philippians 4:4. Rejoice in the Lord always. Second is you must look up a dictionary to see the meaning of always. What does it mean? For some people don't understand the meaning of always. It means 24 hours a day. Seven days a week. 1:27:10 That is the righteousness of the new covenant. You say it's impossible. According to your faith be it unto you. It will be impossible for you. Because you don't believe God's word. It's not a question of what you can accomplish. 1:27:23 It's a question of whether you believe the Holy Spirit can do it in you. That's what it says here. And all my earthly needs and the needs of my family were met. 1:28:56 That should be our testimony. So that when people examine our life closely. They should be able to say. There's no explanation for this man's life. Except that he must be having a father in heaven. I hope they'll be able to say that about you and me. 1:29:13 At the end of our life. It's not a question of what impression we give to other people. It's nothing. My testimony is to Satan first. That he looks at my life. And I say Satan you can never look at my life.
