So let's draw near with faith in our hearts, confidence. Like to read a few verse from Psalm 40 says, I waited patiently for the Lord. And he inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me out of the pit of 26:43 destruction, out of the mighty clay. And he set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm. and he put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord. How blessed is the man who has 27:02 made the Lord his trust, and he has has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. Many, oh Lord, my God, are the wonders which you have done, and your thoughts towards us. There is none to compare with you. If I would declare and speak 27:19 of them, they would be too numerous to count. A gracious, loving heavenly father, we come to you with faith and expectation this morning. You are a faithful, unchanging God, full of mercy and compassion. 27:38 And we believe that you're looking at us with a love and hope in your own eyes, rejoicing over us this morning. Thank you. Thank you for redeeming us. Thank you for making us your own people. We believe Lord that you are on the throne. 27:55 You control the whole universe. And Lord, we want to thank you for the way you led us, guided us, and molding us, Lord, and working in our hearts, not giving up on us, patiently, gently, guiding, and shephering us. Brothers and sisters, sisters, let's not 28:14 be silent before the Lord. Let's open our mouth and thank the Lord and praise the Lord for what he is doing in our life. Please repeat after me. Psalm 96:9. Worship the Lord with the beauty of holy lives. And for this week, we have a beautiful 29:41 promise. Isaiah 40:31. Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength, they will run and not get tired. 29:57 >> Please repeat after me. Isaiah 40:31. Those who wait for the Lord >> Those who wait for the Lord >> will gain new strength. >> They will run and not get tired. Amen. So this morning it's our joy and 30:16 privilege to hear our dear brother Suresh and Brasio. Good morning dear brothers and sisters. 30:40 So the word on my heart is a very basic fundamental word. My topic is that Jesus is trustworthy and we must trust him. I want to talk about faith. I believe that the Lord will reveal to us, show us something of faith that we've not seen before. Strengthen 31:00 our faith. Last week, Brother Charles was sharing about deliverance and victory. The Lord who delivered us from Satan's power wants to lead us to a victorious life where we can be conquerors in all things and take our places in the heavenly places with with 31:16 Jesus. And uh we need to be led by and depend on the Holy Spirit for for this. But as we heard from brother Ranjit, this life this victorious life depends on faith. And on one hand all things are possible to him who believes. On the other hand 31:35 without faith a man can expect to get nothing from the Lord. So we need faith to bridge that gap. I was burdened to share and meditate on what is faith why should we have faith in Jesus. So I want uh I think uh we should all watch a 31:49 short message by brother Zach to begin and and then I'll I'll share the burden on my heart. It's interesting that God has made 32:11 us dependent on him and prayer is an expression of our [clears throat] dependence upon the Lord. And [clears throat] we read in James and chapter 1, what is the most important thing that we 32:30 must we heard about having a burden? But it says here in James chapter 1 and verse 6, he must ask in faith 32:47 without doubting whatever we are asking for. And the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. And here it says that man 33:05 can expect to get nothing from the Lord. So it's quite a strong word. He'll get nothing if he does not if he prays and prays and prays and prays and prays and prays and prays. But he doesn't believe that God is really going to answer that. 33:21 He'll get zero. It's a promise in the Bible. He will get zero from the Lord. So we have to bear that in mind. It's so important for the Lord that the most important thing God expects from us. Even obedience, it's called in the New Testament the 33:38 obedience of faith, which is different from just obedience. Obedience of faith is Lord, I believe that I'm doing this to honor you and I believe you'll honor me. I've many times gone to this promise in 1 Samuel chapter 2:30 many many times in 33:56 my life and [clears throat and cough] I've seen it always works never failed once Samuel chap chapter 2 it's one of my favorite verses the middle of that verse 1 Samuel 2:30 [clears throat] 34:15 the last part those who honor me I will honor And to the best of our knowledge, if you have tried to honor God in your life and whatever area you're aware of, God does not hold us responsible for areas 34:34 we're not aware of. But in whatever area you're aware of, and that area is different for each of us. When you're young spiritually, you see very little. As you grow spiritually, you see more and more. But in whatever area you're 34:48 aware of, don't compare yourself with a mature saint who's got more light. If you got a very little knowledge of the Lord in the area where you're aware, if you say, "Lord, I try to honor you, you can be absolutely sure God will 35:06 honor you." [clears throat] And the way I prayed that prayer many times is like this. Lord, I believe this is an eternal principle that those who honor you, you will honor. And to the best of my knowledge, this is how I pray. Lord, in this situation, 35:24 I've tried to honor you. To the best of my knowledge, I've set whatever needs to be set right, I've set right. And to the whatever measure of faith I have, I have. And I wanted to honor you. And if you don't honor me, then this will be the first time in 35:40 6,000 years that you did not keep your promise. That's how I pray. That strengthens my faith that if I honor God and he does not honor me in that situation, he lets me down, it'll be the first time in 6,000 years that he let down a human being who 36:00 honored him. And when I say that, it produces faith in my heart. You can use that if you like. And then I see in Genesis chapter 3 when the Lord [clears throat] we know about the two trees. [snorts] I see the two trees as symbolic of this. 36:17 The tree of life is a tree of is teaching me to a life of dependence upon God for everything. That's the tree of life. The tree of knowledge of good and evil is the life of dependence upon myself. 36:36 That's how I see the two trees. And right from the beginning, God was teaching man, you must learn to live a life dependent on me. That's the way of life. If you seek a life dependent on yourself, it's always death. And then I see that the devil's 36:55 temptation was to turn this man away from depending on God to depending on himself. So all of us have got when we pray the tree of life and the tree of knowledge in front of us all the time. Am I going to depend on God or depend on myself? In 37:14 many situations we are facing these two trees all the time in our life. In this situation, what am I going to depend on? Depend on God to let me see me through or depend on myself. However tough the situation, however difficult it may be, some serious 37:32 sickness or some other complicated situation in our work or anything in life, it's a wonderful thing to recognize this. You depend on yourself, you're going to the tree of life just like Adam and Eve. But if you say, "Lord, I have no 37:50 dependence on myself. I'm trusting you 100%. I'm depending on you alone to see me through in this situation." You're depending on the Lord. And there you're honoring him. If you depend on yourself, you're not honoring God. 38:07 So this is the reason why very often our prayers are not answered or we don't experience what God wants us to experience. So these few simple principles if you bear in mind you'll find that even your 38:25 spiritual life develops because you know dependence on God and answer to prayer is one way I found in my own life it increases my confidence in the lord you know if you for example think of a particular supposing you know some human 38:41 being who's very influential and you know that he's very influential person in town he can do almost I think and you contact him and say, "Hey, I'm stuck in a situation. Can you do this for me?" He says, "Yeah, just leave it 38:55 to me. I'll do it." You experience that a few times. You get such confidence in him. This is the way we must have confidence in God. If you can have confidence in a man who's promised to help you in any situation you face, 39:07 who's very influential in town. I'm praying to a God whom Jesus taught us to pray. Our father who's got influence from heaven all over the earth. Can you please help me here? I want to trust you. I do not want to pray without 39:22 expecting that and expecting that there'll be no answer. I want to pray to the most influential person in the whole universe. And I'm expecting you to give me an answer in this situation. I don't know what complicated situation you're facing 39:36 today, but I want you to seek the Lord in in this way because that is the meaning of faith. Lord, you our father who art in heaven. That's how Jesus taught us to begin our prayer. You love me. That's the meaning of our father. 39:52 And you're in heaven, which means you're the most influential person who can do anything on this earth. Now I begin my prayer. So if I don't begin my prayer like that, it's going to be difficult to get an answer. That's why Jesus taught 40:06 us to pray. Our father, you love me, who art in heaven, who can do anything in this universe. Now I make my requests. I believe God wants all of us to experience more and more answers to prayer because that brings a certain 40:22 intimacy between him and us and also makes us more confidence as we walk forward in our Christian life. Amen. Amen. 40:46 Yeah. Um, yeah, I'll be putting up a few slides. I, this is my theme. Jesus is trustworthy. We can trust him. I just want to underscore or underline some of the things we heard from brother Zach. 41:05 Firstly, we honor God by our faith. We are either saying, "God, you are trustworthy. I believe you are trustworthy and I honor you or or you are not trustworthy and then I dishonor God." Secondly, the big question we have to 41:23 ask ourselves is are we going to depend on God which is the tree of life or are we going to depend on ourselves and this is tested in our day-to-day situations. Uh thirdly, what brother Zach said about it's easy for us to understand if if we 41:41 know someone who's influential and uh they say they will do something then we can trust them and we can trust God in the same way. You're my father, you're in heaven, you can do anything. So I want to talk about that and build 41:59 on that and and and also lastly what brother Zach said is that when we experience answers in to prayer by trusting God that brings an intimacy with God and God desires that that intimacy. Yeah. So brothers and sisters I'm I'm 42:17 going to you know talk about faith. I want to start with the definition that's in the Amplified Bible. Um if if you have an amplified Bible and you read what's in in brackets several places where it talks about having faith, it says faith is the leaning of 42:35 our complete personality on God with absolute confidence in his wisdom, power and goodness. So the important thing is who we are leaning on, right? Our attention is on who we are leaning on. 42:54 Leaning is not difficult. Anyone can lean. No. But the question is whether we are leaning on some [snorts] or somebody who can be leaned on. Right? And so that that that is our uh definition and then we want to think about Jesus and whether he's trustworthy 43:14 or not. So I want to go over starting about talking about the words of Jesus. Um because in Romans chapter 10 and verse 17, this is a verse that we should all know. It says, "Faith comes by hearing the words of Christ. Faith comes from hearing and hearing by 43:33 the word of Christ. So we want to pay attention to the words of Jesus because that is what originally put faith in our hearts. And we can trust Jesus because his words are perfect. Let's let's I want to go through several 43:49 verses and we can turn there quickly. I'll spend a little bit of time on on some of them and less on others. Psalm 12. Let's let's look at it together. It talks about a world where we cannot trust anything that we 44:09 hear. The psalmist says, "The godly man ceases to be. The faithful disappear. They speak falsehood one to another. Psalm 12. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips. The tongue that speaks great things. People who say with our tongue 44:25 we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who can Lord? Who is Lord over us? The world is full of people who say I can say whatever I feel like and I will prevail because I know what to say. And in the midst of this world, we can be 44:41 affected by this, you know, and be suspicious and fearful of everything we hear. But in the middle of this, the psalmist says, "The words of the Lord are pure words as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven 44:56 times." See, the Lord refineses his words. There's no exaggeration. There's no deceit. His words are perfect, perfectly chosen. The Lord knows exactly what he is saying. 45:14 And for that reason, we can trust his words. We can look at Psalm 19. Let's look at Psalm 19 together again. Psalm 19:9, no, verse 7 onwards. This is what the word of God does in our 45:33 lives. It talks about different aspects of the word of God. These are all legal terms for the most part. The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring or converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The 45:51 precepts or the principles of the Lord are correct, accurate, right. They rejoice the heart. The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. Brothers and sisters, in different ways, if we take heed to the word of God, uh 46:06 it will make us wise. It will convert our soul. It will bring joy to the heart. It will enlighten our eyes. This is what the word of God does because his words are perfect. Psalm 138:2, we don't have to turn there. It says, "You have magnified your 46:22 word according to all of your name." That means the Lord has staked his reputation on his word. He says, "If I have said it, I will do it. I've chosen my words. My words are perfect." Jesus himself said while he was a man on 46:38 earth, because he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he could say, "Heaven and earth shall pass away. My words will not pass away." So brothers and sisters, wise words, pure words, powerful words, reliable words, 46:57 we must pay close attention to what we have heard. But this is how the Lord writes faith in our heart and whatever else you know the world is full of lies. We can hold on to the words of God. Let's move on. Let's look at the actions 47:11 of God. I especially want to consider his actions in relation to his words. Let's look at Psalm 112. Sorry, 111. Psalm 111. Let's turn there together. Yeah, this is what it says about the 47:45 works of the Lord. Great are the works of the Lord. Psalm 111:2, they are studied by all who delight in them. Oh, that's a word we should take to heart. Those who delight in the works of the Lord will study, consider, think about. No, as we want to 48:03 do today to some extent, but our life should be filled with considering the works of God because this is what puts faith in our heart. Splendid and majestic is his work. His righteousness endures forever. He has made his wonders 48:17 to be remembered. He will remember his covenant forever. Verse 5, he has made known to the people the power of his works. Yeah, this this is this is our our God. There's a memory verse we looked at recently. Joshua 21:45 that 48:33 says, "Not one of the good promises that the Lord made failed." Brothers and sisters, if we look at our lives, we look at the promises that we have received from God, none of us can say that, you know, the Lord said this 48:46 and it didn't come. It didn't happen. Not one of the good promises that the Lord made failed. Let's look at First Kings chapter 8 and verse 56. First Kings. This is where Solomon is dedicating the temple. And Solomon says, 49:19 you know, it's a it's a long prayer and and and a speech that he makes. Uh but in summary, he says again and again, you said this and you did it. You said this and you did it. You spoke through the prophet and you did it. You 49:36 brought us out of Egypt. You said you were going to build a temple. You said you were going to give us rest. And everything that you said you did. Verse 56 in particular, this the wording challenged me. Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his 49:50 people Israel according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promises which he promised to Moses his servant. Not one word has failed. Yeah. And when we turn to the New Testament and we think of the promises 50:06 of God in relation to us, 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 24, I'm just picking one because it says the Lord is faithful and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 24. Faithful is he who calls you. 50:28 The one who invites us, who's calling us even today is faithful. He will do it or he will bring it to pass. What will he bring to pass? We can look at that in verse 23. May the God of peace himself sanctify you, make you holy entirely 50:43 in spirit, soul, and body that we might be preserved without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he who calls you and he will also bring it to pass. Yeah. Brothers and sisters, we can be like, you know, the man at the 51:01 gate that brother Ranjit spoke about last week where the Lord was fulfilling his promises even before his eyes. No, we can see that the Lord is fulfilling his promises throughout history. He has done this. He has done this in the lives 51:16 of brothers and sisters around us. And we can stand and you know he was in a crowd and there was unbelief in his heart and he did not get the benefit because he did not honor God with with his faith. He we we say that God is good all the time. 51:34 That's true. But it's not just all the time. It is every time. There's a hymn that says he cannot fail for he is God. He cannot fail for he is God. It's not just every time, but it is throughout time. He controls all 51:54 history. He's controlled every detail of our lives from the time we were born in our mother's womb. He works out his purposes and his plans. And lastly, it's not just throughout time, but it's beyond time, right? It's not for the years of time 52:10 alone, but for eternity. God is good all the time, every time, throughout time, beyond time. What a faithful God we have. Brothers and sisters, these are basic things, but the Bible says these are studied by those who delight in them. 52:29 And may the Lord bring it Aresh to our heart. It's not just his words and his actions, but his attitude. The Lord is not just some super powerful person who is far away. We know that Jesus can be trusted because he seeks an 52:47 intimate relationship with us. No. And that's that's not with everybody. It's not something we can take for granted. Uh you know I I I remember this brother Zach sharing about this John chapter 2 uh verse 24 where 53:13 it talks about Jesus being in Jerusalem and many saw what he was doing believed in his name but it says Jesus for his part was not entrusting himself to them because he knew all men. He himself knew what was in man. Verse 53:31 24-25. John 2:4 and 25. So brothers and sisters, the Lord sees what is inside of us. We can't take it for granted that he will entrust himself to us. But if we look at the desire of his heart, the sort of God that he is, the person 53:51 that he has revealed himself to be in in scripture, we can see that the longing of his heart is that you know that we we should draw near to him and he should draw near to us and we should be in this intimate relationship and that is the 54:06 the promise and the calling that we have. Yeah. The Bible, the Bible says who the Lord will draw near to. [clears throat] This is again a memory verse. We don't have to go there. The crooked man is an abomination to the Lord, but he is 54:21 intimate with the upright. He is intimate with somebody who is not crooked, who has no guile, no pretense, somebody who comes to the Lord just as he is. The Lord is willing to be intimate with him. You know, our righteousness is by faith. We come to 54:39 the Lord without any crookedness and and the Lord wants to be intimate with us. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit. We come to us. We come to the Lord in our need. Say, "Lord, I'm 54:53 brokenhearted. I can't live without you. I need you. I need your power. I need this that I'm seeing. I need to lay hold of the words that you are speaking. I need to see your power fulfilled in my life." And the Lord is near to that 55:07 person. James chapter 4 and:e 8 gives us both a promise and an invitation says draw near to God he will draw near to you and sisters this is this is everywhere 55:24 in scripture if we look for it and and this is especially true in the New Testament. See, in the New Testament, one founding fundamental promise in the New Testament is uh in Hebrews 8:11 where the Lord says, "All shall know me 55:43 from the least to the greatest of them." Brothers and sisters, if we want to enter into the new covenant, into the new relationship that God wants for each of us, Lord says, "Each of you, I want to know you personally. from the least to the greatest of them. 56:05 And we know this word knowing is is used in scripture for intimacy. The Lord uh in his great wisdom gave us the song of Solomon. The book Song of Solomon in the Bible. It says, "I am my beloveds and he is mine." It says so 56:19 many things about the love relationship between the bride and the bridegroom. This is the longing of the Lord that we surrender our bodies to be temples of the Holy Spirit. Brother and sisters, you know, like in marriage, there may be many days where 56:36 we don't feel anything or, you know, many times where we just do what we have to do because of the promises that we have made and because we trust and obey. But there are times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. I I hope that 56:51 all of us have experienced this you know where where your heart rejoices you know there's a song in your heart there is a joy that comes from the presence of the lord I hope we have experienced this in our marriages perhaps but also in in our 57:07 relationship with the lord there is know Paul says this is the greatest thing knowing you Jesus this is the greatest thing come nothing in the world can compare with that everything else is rubbish and And we see in the life of Peter that 57:22 there was a big difference. Before he was filled with the Holy Spirit and afterwards. Now before he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he said when he was faced with pressure, he said, "No, I don't know Jesus. I don't know Jesus." 57:33 And then after the day of Pentecost, when he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he said, "You know, I'm going to go to jail. That's fine. You know, I have to do what God tells me to do." He was willing to face jail, willing to face 57:45 death. Yeah. Knowing Jesus is is the tree of life. In Galatians 4:6, it says, "Because you are sons, God has sent forth poured out the spirit of his 58:01 son into our hearts crying daddy or papa or apa or whatever you call him in your in your in your own language. See, my papa is in heaven. He's not just some wise and powerful person. his attitude towards me is is a longing 58:21 for fellowship and and intimacy and uh yeah brothers and sisters I want at this point you know for us to think about and consider the difference between true and false faith or trust. Uh see we know in this world we can 58:40 imagine and we may perhaps know of incidents of people people who are wise powerful and may even seek you know an intimate relationship with us but their motive is selfish. So we know Satan is like that he comes to steal kill and destroy 58:57 and uh so we need to think about motives. We need to think about why is the lord doing what he's doing. No. Is he a selfish god? Is he seeking his own? And again brothers and sisters, this is 59:15 very very very fundamental. If you have seen the Lord, I believe the Lord has opened many many of our eyes by faith. But we want to see that more clearly. Jesus said, "If you have seen me, you have seen the father." Jesus through his life demonstrated that 59:29 the father god is love. Jesus was love incarnate. He did not seek his own. For God so loved the world that he gave the most precious thing, his only beloved, precious son, that we should 59:45 not perish but draw near to him in faith and know him that we might have eternal life. It is in the light of this I believe that we should read Romans 8:32. We can turn there. He who did not spare his own son 1:00:09 but delivered him over for us all, how will he not also with him freely give us all things? He who did not spare his own son but delivered him over for us. Are you saying that you are not going to trust 1:00:28 him? Will he not freely give us all things? Will he not freely give the Holy Spirit to those who long for him, to those who ask him? Brothers and sisters, let's take stock of what we've said so far. If you can 1:00:47 pull up the slide. What we've said is that Jesus is credible. His words are wise and true. is reliable because his actions are faithful and powerful throughout time and into eternity. Jesus seeks to be intimate with us. His 1:01:06 attitude is to forgive and to seek fellowship with all those who draw near to him by faith. And Jesus is not fel selfish. His motive is always only to love and to save. And sisters, we know all these things are true. But there is one more very 1:01:25 fundamental reason to trust God, trust Jesus. And everything I've said so far, I I actually found this in a business book about building trust, you know, as as as a consultant or something like that. Uh all of these things are true, you know, 1:01:42 about uh Yeah, you you can hold this slide for a bit, bro. Just just wait. Yeah, all of these things are true for any of us perhaps. You know, if we trust somebody, it's because you believe their words and their actions. 1:01:56 Uh, and you know, you trust their motives and they're seeking an intimate relationship with you. Um, but if we think about the Lord and what is revealed in scripture about him, the Bible tells us that there is no one else 1:02:12 like the Lord. He is in a category by himself. This is said again and again in multiple places. Uh who is who is like the Lord? Who is like the Lord? I want to turn to uh Isaiah 45. 1:02:31 [clears throat] Let's look at Isaiah 45 together. The Hebrew word uh for holy I believe is kadosh. I don't know how exactly it's pronounced but it 1:02:48 means separate, distinct, without compare, beyond compare. No, this is a holy God that we serve. There is nobody else like him. See, it's not if I say that, oh, I think of an influential person, he can do things. God is in a different 1:03:07 category altogether. If I think about you know any wise person, wisdom of God is is in a different category altogether. Uh and you know when we understand and see this God who is like unto thee, glorious 1:03:26 in holiness, perfect in praises, doing wonders, the only response that we should have as men before a holy God is to fall down on our faces in humility. Humility and holiness 1:03:43 go together. And we see that in Jesus. So I want to point this out in in Isaiah 45. Uh I'm I'm just jumping through different verses. So Isaiah 45:E6, [snorts] the Lord says, "There is no one besides 1:04:02 me. I am the Lord. There is no other." Verse 7, "I am the Lord who has done all these things." Verse 11, the Holy One of Israel, the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. Uh verse 14, they will say that the Lord 1:04:24 is with you. There is no one else, no other God. Verse 18, I am the Lord. There is none else. Yeah. So, you know, this is not just in this chapter. It's everywhere in scripture. There is no one else. There is no one else. There is no one else. 1:04:40 But in the middle of all of that, we find Isaiah saying something to God. And he says in verse 15, "Truly, you are a God who hides himself. Oh God of Israel, savior." And sisters, I I I hope you see it. This 1:04:57 holy God, there is no one to compare with him. He is a God who hides himself. He is a humble God. He's a God who knows how to disappear. Just think about this world that he has made you know and his marvelous creation 1:05:14 each of us fearfully and wonderfully made the stars you know all all all that god has done and how he has worked throughout history and then he hides himself and foolish man is like oh who is god where is god and brothers and sisters you know this 1:05:34 this is the god that that that we worship he's a humble god He is a holy God. We can look at Isaiah 57. [clears throat] Verse 15. 1:05:56 [snorts] Thus says the high and exalted one who lives forever, whose name is holy. I dwell on a high and holy place. Holy God, high and exalted one, dwells on a high and holy place and also with 1:06:14 the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly, to revive the heart of the contrite. Where is this holy God? He's with the one who is lowly of spirit. We see this perfectly in Jesus. He 1:06:33 humbled himself even to the point of death on a cross in every state and every area of his life. He said, "Not my will but yours be done." And and Jesus himself explained why we can trust him in John 7 18. We can look at that 1:06:48 together. Jesus said, "The one who speaks from himself, the one who is depending on his 1:07:05 own resources, who has his own agenda, seeks his own glory. But he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him, he is true. There is no unrighteousness in him." Jesus is saying that I'm nothing. I'm nobody. I have no agenda of my own. 1:07:23 My father who sent me is everything and everything I do and speak and think is for him. And that is why you can trust me. My agenda is heaven's agenda. And that was the mind of Christ. These 1:07:42 are the thoughts of Christ. Humble thoughts, holy thoughts. Brothers and sisters, I want to summarize all that we've said today in this. We can pull up the next slide. Uh Christ the anointed one is 1:08:00 trustworthy. He is credible. We can believe his words through the Holy Spirit. The insight that we have into his thoughts show us that he is humble and he's holy. 1:08:19 He's reli the man who says Lord I want to believe. Please help my unbelief. In English we have this expression called deficit of trust. A trust deficit. 1:08:37 It refers to a decline in faith, confidence and belief in the intentions or abilities of institutions or individuals. Unfortunately, some of us have a trust deficit when it 1:08:55 comes to the Lord and his promises. Usually because of certain prayers that the Lord has not answered according to our expectations or probably certain situations in which he has not intervened according to our 1:09:13 expectations. When we expected yes from God, he said no. Or when we expected him to say go ahead, he said wait. But as we heard many times in this church, even his nose and his weights 1:09:33 are answers to prayer. And if he has not intervened in a particular situation, it is because he himself has put us in that situation. and when the right time comes he will intervene and until that time we have to wait. 1:09:51 So there is no reason for us to have a trust deficit with respect to the Lord. When it comes to human beings, we can that may be justified. We may not be able to trust some people. In fact, in Proverbs 20:6, it says, 1:10:10 "Who can find a trustworthy man?" That's the word of God says, "Who can find a trustworthy man?" But there is no need for us to have such a deficit of trust when it comes to the Lord. Jesus is totally trustworthy. 1:10:27 The Lord is trustworthy because he is who he says he is and he does what he says he will do. If you ever come across someone who will never tell a lie under any circumstances, who will never deceive you and who will 1:10:46 always keep his word no matter how difficult it may be, you will say such a man is trustworthy. And Jesus is exactly like that. In 1 Peter 2:22, it says, 1 Peter 2:22, 1:11:05 there is no deceit found in the mouth of Jesus. There was no deceit found in the mouth of Jesus. There was no deceit in his speech, no deception or duplicity in his behavior. So he is trustworthy. 1:11:24 One of the statements which Jesus made in John 8 and verse 46 he said if I speak the truth why do you not believe me? If I speak the truth why do you not believe me? 1:11:42 So the only reason for me not to believe in Jesus is because I believe that he is not speaking the truth. But can anyone of us say that we know he's speaking the truth? Even non-Christians say that Jesus speaks the 1:12:00 truth. Even the enemies of Jesus who was seeking to trap him, they acknowledged in Matthew 22:1 15 and 16, "Teacher, we know that you are truthful and teach the way of God in truth." 1:12:18 So his friends, strangers and even enemies acknowledged that Jesus speaks the truth and there is no deceit in his mouth. And that was true when he was on earth and it is true even today. And in all the words he has spoken to us through 1:12:36 his apostles and other servants of God. It is true because he is the same yesterday, today and forever. So all his words and all his promises will will be fulfilled. So there is no reason for us to have a trust deficit. 1:12:53 Jesus is totally trustworthy. In the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, it's one of the titles given to Jesus. In Revelation chapter 1 verse 5, the one of the titles given to 1:13:17 Jesus is the faithful witness. The faithful witness. And this does not refer to his carefully observing everything in this world. But what it refers to is his trustworthiness 1:13:35 in regards to all the promises he has made and all the words he has spoken. That means if he has promised something, he will see to it that it is fulfilled. And if he has prophesied something, he will see to it that it will come to 1:13:52 pass. And if something is not fulfilled in our lives, the only limitation is our own faith. There is a beautiful verse in the book of Jeremiah. The book of Jeremiah chapter 1 and verse 12. 1:14:15 The second part of the verse. The Lord is speaking this word. Jeremiah 1:12. I am watching over my word to perform it. I am watching over my word to perform it. 1:14:32 So Jesus the faithful witness is watching over all his words to fulfill them. So he is trustworthy and we are familiar with this verse in Hebrews 11:6. Hebrews 11:6, 1:14:52 without faith, it is impossible to please him. Of no other virtue or quality, such a statement is made. Whatever other excellent virtues or qualities you may have, if you don't have faith, it is impossible to please 1:15:09 God. It is a mustave. And Jesus had it in abundance. And that is the reason he was well pleasing to the father. Not just pleasing, well pleasing. There was no deficit of trust when it came to the father. 1:15:27 We just heard that Jesus did not entrust himself to people easily. John 2:24. But he entrusted himself to the father completely totally. That is how he began his life on earth. There is a prophetic reference to Jesus 1:15:47 early life in Psalm 22. Just turn there. Psalm 22. Psalm 22 is also known as the psalm of the cross. The first verse it says, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" That is 1:16:06 one of the words Jesus spoke on the cross. But in verse 9, it says it's a reference to Jesus. Yet you are he who brought me forth from the womb. You made me trust upon my mother's 1:16:24 breast. You are he who brought me forth from the womb. You made me trust when upon my mother's breast. So that was the beginning of Jesus' life. And then at the end of his life, the last word he spoke on the cross, 1:16:42 the last word he spoke on the cross, Luke chapter 23 and verse 46. It was a word of faith expressing his trust in the father. Jesus crying out with a loud voice said, 1:16:58 "Father, into your hands I commit. I entrust my spirit. So the last word and the last action of Jesus earthly life was a word and an action of faith of trust. He committed 1:17:16 and trusted his spirit to the father. So even when the worst thing that could happen to a man happened to him, he did not doubt the father. He continued to trust him. He did not have any trust deficit. 1:17:34 So from his birth until death, Jesus completely trusted the father. And that is what we are all called to do. And we need to have faith. Something that all of us can have. Children can have it. Youth, teens, middle-aged, old people, everyone can 1:17:52 have it. Sinners can have it. The Roman centurion had it. The thief on the cross had it. And that is how sinners become saints through faith. That is the beginning. That is how our Christian life began with repentance and faith. 1:18:06 Trusting in the Lord and his promises. And we have to continue to have that faith in the Lord what he has promised to do until he returns. So we have to look to Jesus the faithful witness the trustworthy witness 1:18:25 who is also the author and the finisher of our faith. He starts faith in us and he perfects that faith in us and to him be all the glory. So let us run this race looking unto him who is the author and perfector of our faith with 1:18:41 endurance. May the Lord help all of us. Brothers and sisters, let's 1:19:04 bow down and pray. We can say amen in our hearts. That is what Abraham did to the words of 1:19:20 the Lord, the promises of the Lord. Let's pour out our hearts before him. However it's been in the past. 1:19:42 We want to repent of unbelief. Turn to him. Loving father. Lord, we thank you and praise you. Thank you Lord. Words cannot express your greatness Lord 1:20:01 but words are all that we have. You see our hearts. We want to come to you and acknowledge Lord that you have been good, merciful. It's your kindness that leads us to repentance. Lord, we want to have soft hearts. Lord, continue to 1:20:17 write the faith, the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts. Lord, give us that faith that you had. We want to to hold onto your words, study your works, and think your thoughts, Lord, through the power of the Holy Spirit. 1:20:36 Surrender our motives, Lord, and draw near to you. Fill us, Lord, with your Holy Spirit. That's the only way. We praise you. We thank you. We commit ourselves into your hands. We pray in your mighty name, Jesus. Amen. Not only are we bringing up our children for him with his help, but he is also building his temple [music] within us at the same time. Our home life and our family life are being built for the glory of Jesus 1:22:06 Christ and we can present our children to him so that they can experience the same glorious work in their [music] lives as well. Our family will then be a beautiful temple for the glory of God 1:22:22 and our children will be a part of that. May this book encourage and help mothers to bring up their children [music] in God's ways.
