We've added more prayer meetings throughout the week and we spend more time in prayer together and that's good. 7:53 But there ought to be a continual communion between us and the Father. That's where the default of our minds should be. 8:10 That's where we're fixed. That's where our anchor is. And so I pray that we are, may we all increase our, that spirit of continual prayer and prayer. And even as we pray now, don't just listen to my prayer. I pray that you will, may you lift up your voice and your heart to the Lord. 8:30 Unburden yourself. If you came and carrying any burden, brother, sister, child, if you came and carrying any burden, he wants to release that from you. He says, cast your burden on the Lord. He cares for you. He will sustain you. 8:45 You cannot sustain yourself. That's why we pray. And Jesus, who was perfect, never sinned, the Son of God, when he was here on this earth, made it clear as human beings, we can do nothing on our own. And he invites us as branches in the vine to abide in him that we might bear much fruit. 9:06 The only way that we can have a fruitful week this week is abiding in him. And so pray, lift up your heart to him. These are challenging times. Maybe we can sing this next song before we pray as you enter into spirit of prayer. 9:20 This hymn is a, it's an old hymn. It was written about 80 years ago around the time of World War II. There's a lady named Ruth Jones in Pennsylvania, a mother of five, who was distressed by the headlines that she was reading in the newspaper, the casualties from World War II. 9:39 And she knew that the U.S. was already involved in the war by that point and was making very slow progress. And supplies were getting rationed here at home. It was a difficult time, far more difficult than any of us have faced, I believe. 9:56 Everyone was living under incredible strain at that time.
