We're only God to bless and help and love in Jesus name. And when we love each other. And when we love each 23:19 other. And when we love each other, we glorify his name. First verse. Let's sing that again. He did not come to judge the world. He did 23:36 not come to blame. He did not only come to seek, it was to save. He came. And when we call him Savior, and when we call him 23:56 Savior, And when we call him Savior, we call him by his name. [Music] 24:22 Jesus shall take the highest honor. Bless thou the 27:24 Lord, oh my soul. Praise ye the Lord. [Music] As we remain standing, shall we? Bow our 28:03 heads in prayer. Jesus when made in the likeness of 28:37 men humbled himself to the death of the cross as we sang. No, no reputation belonged to him. Then emptying himself he esteemed it no loss. God has exalted him far above 29:01 all. Far above all. Far above all. Let's crown him as Lord at his feet humbly fall. Jesus, Christ 29:20 Jesus is far above all. A day will [Music] come when kingdoms of this earth shall be yielded to our God. The reign will be 29:40 glorious with our Lord on the throne. The usurper has been chained. He will be chained and his rod will be broken. Jesus will 29:55 reign as king and every nation will own. In view of that, my dear brothers and sisters, let's yield ourselves to the 30:14 Lord, saying, Jesus, my lord, my savior, reign in my heart as redeemer and lord, make me what you would have me to be, filled with thy holy Holy 30:33 Spirit and filled with your word. Psalm 44 verse4 onwards it 30:52 says you are my king oh God command victories for Jacob through thee we will push back our adversaries through thy name we will 31:07 trample down those who rise up against us for I will not trust in my bow nor Will my sword save me? But thou hast saved us from our 31:26 adversaries. Thou hast put to shame those who hate us. In God we have boasted all day long and we will give thanks to thy name forever. Our father in heaven, 31:48 we exalt your holy name. We thank you that you are seated on the throne as king of kings and lord of lords, the creator of the whole universe. We bow down before 32:06 you. We cry holy because you are holy. All creation sings holy. All angelic hosts sing holy and we sing 32:24 holy. Holy art thou Lord God Almighty. We worship your majesty. We bow down before your splendorous glory. Thank you father this 32:41 morning that you have chosen us to be your children. You have called us to be partakers of the divine nature. And Lord, you have forgiven all our debts, cleansed 33:00 us, and you have given us your spirit as a pledge for the day of redemption. We thank you. We bless you. We bow down before your throne in our spirit and worship your majesty. Thank you, Father. Dear 33:19 brothers and sisters, take this opportunity. Express your heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the one who loves us and loved us even when we didn't deserve it and has been supplying all our needs according to his riches. in 33:38 Christ Jesus in glory. We bless you, Father, that you didn't count our sins and trespasses against us. Even while we were at sinners, you sent Jesus to die for us in our place so that we can be 33:58 redeemed. Father, we thank you. We bless you and praise you for such immense love that you have demonstrated through Jesus Christ on the cross. We want to acknowledge that. We want to believe in that substitutionary sacrifice and we want to offer ourselves 34:17 as living sacrifice to thee. Dear father, we pray that your holy spirit within us will continue to do the work of sanctification in us until the day of redemption until we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Lord God 34:35 Almighty, we pray that you will take your rightful place in the midst of your church, in the midst of your people, that you will be glorified, you'll be honored and praised. We bless you. We worship you in Jesus precious name. 34:53 Amen. Amen. Please take your seats. We will look at our last week's memory verse which was a command and then we will learn a new one today for 35:11 this week. Last week it was from Matthew 11:28. Matthew 11:28. Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you 35:31 rest. Matthew 11:28. And this week we have a promise that is from Matthew 18:4. Whoever humbles himself as this child is the greatest in the kingdom of 35:51 heaven. Let's say that once more. Matthew 18:4. Whoever humbles himself as this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Yeah. 36:11 Today we will hear God's word from brother John Pereira. John, over to you. Every word Jesus 36:43 spoke was with authority, with meaning. That was the truth. When Jesus called out a little baby and said, "Whoever humbles like this 37:00 child, I think uh the child a baby reflects the spirit of heaven. Jesus was emp emphasizing the humility humility child 37:19 has. In line with that I would like to share a verse from Matthew chapter 11 verse 30. Here Jesus said it's a profound 37:42 statement for my yoke is easy and my load is light and another translation says for easy it's comfortable or pleasant. You see Jesus came to restore 38:04 something what Adam lost. Adam lost Adam and Eve lost something what God had given them. That humility, a 38:21 submission, a easy or simple life which God had given them. telling them just don't eat this particular fruit and rest I will take care and Satan 38:39 deceived that they ended up eating that the fruit which God had forbidden. What's the result? If we reverse this verse, verse 30, difficult and 39:12 burdensome. We have to examine. I I was challenged myself to examine Lord is my life simple or complicated. I don't need an 39:28 explanation because I lived about 25 years of an an unbelieving life which is so complicated, so complex, confused, burdensome. We all lived that kind of a 39:50 life. But we have come to the the knowledge of Christ. See, you know what born again means? Born again means I I I really liked once Brazak said like this. If you 40:07 are so fed up with your life in fact verse 28 what Jesus was saying come to me all who are weary and evided and and I'll give you rest. That means Jesus was saying come to me I will change your life. I'll give you a new life. That 40:26 means Prazak was explaining something like this that you you feel like I would like to start my life all over again. I I I don't want my past life. I have complicated. I have messed up and I don't I don't want that life. I want to 40:44 start a fresh and God gives an opportunity for us to start our life all over again that is called born again a life new new life born again life it's 41:03 it's wonderful I hope we have come into that kind of a new beginning that's how we need to start I'm Happy every time when I hear a testimony, somebody surrenders their life and accepts Christ as their savior and obeys in baptism, 41:23 waters of baptism. It's amazing. It's a new life, new beginning. But you know, we we cannot keep quiet. you know uh how I can complicate my life by just 41:41 not doing anything. It's like a a wonderful garden. If you see a wonderful garden in front of a house or anywhere it's wellmaintained. Somebody is working on it. Not once once here now and then no regularly 42:01 consistently somebody is working on it. That garden is beautiful and wonderful and also weeds are removed and uh un unwanted plants are removed even in our life to destroy our simple life a simple 42:19 relationship with the lord as we read here we don't just don't need to do anything because naturally we are selfish and proud and we are experts in complicating our own life you just see the world that's the world we are living 42:36 in that's why Bible warns us uh to be careful about the craftiness of Satan and complications of the world and evil of the world it's just there the it's within us as well we we are prone to those things we we we are attracted to 42:56 those things and the lot of influences are there from outside and inside there is um thing to absorb or suck those things. So we if you don't do anything if you are not careful 43:13 um then we complicate. That's how we have been complicated. That's what Jesus came to demonstrate here in John's gospel chapter 1 verse 14. And the word became 43:31 flesh and dwelt among us and we saw his glory. This is John the apostle who watched Jesus very closely and experienced that kind of a 43:48 simple life and simple and effective and authoritative and Satanthreatening life which uh uh John the Apostle apostle saw very closely. He's 44:07 explaining we saw his glory. Glory as of the only son from the father. Full of grace and truth. This this word really was coming to me last 44:23 week. The full of grace and truth. That is what we need. Brothers and sisters. See am I filled with grace and truth? then my life will be simple. If I don't understand or recognize or if I don't 44:41 have that my life will be complicated. Then continue John continues about this is he's talking about John the Baptist. John testified about him and called out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, he who is coming 44:59 after me has proved to be my superior because he he existed before me." Verse 16, for of his fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. Again, 45:17 it's a word, praise upon grace. And the law was given through Moses. This is very profound here. Law was given through Moses. See, he's summing up all that the Old Testament, old comm uh uh command or rather u agreement 45:37 between God and man, the old one which was given through Moses was the law. But grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. And no one has seen God at any time. God the only son 45:55 who is in the arms of the father bosom of the father. He has explained to explained him. He has explained him. See the thing is what I'm trying to understand here is see the Old Testament God laid down laws for 46:14 Israelites but that didn't ease their life that couldn't restore what God planned Adam and Eve originally. They complicated their life. They ate the knowledge, reasoning, many 46:32 things. See in the world you can see all that has evolved after Adam was all even if we see in Genesis we see that all that complication because of sin the knowing knowledge and so many things the life was 46:50 complicated but Jesus came to restore but Jesus cannot help all those who don't trust him and entrust their life to him and come under grace if I don't come and grace I cannot experience the life of rest. That's what Hebrews 4 says 47:09 that God was so grieved that people could not enter into his rest. That is a life of grace. A life of Jesus rather. And Luke 2 we read something what began in Jesus' life. It was quite 47:26 interesting. See Luke Luke 2 where it talks about Jesus verse 40. Now the child continued to grow and to become strong increasing in wisdom and the favor of God was upon him 47:44 and grace of God was upon him. Grace of God was upon him. See this word favor was used in in the book of Genesis where grace was found in Noah's life. Noah found grace in in the sight of God. 48:03 That was not the grace which New Testament talks about. That is actually a favor of God. But here the true uh grace was realized through Jesus Christ. Grace means the Jesus manifested that life means 48:21 every kind of evil and whatever forces and uh complications or all schemes of Satan, evil of Satan, um anger, uh 48:37 enity, Hebrews 12 says hostility, all that which was coming upon him because he had grace within him he could o power or overcome everything that was that was grace that was not found in the old testament people when the pressure came 48:57 they succumbed but here it says the grace was found in Jesus when he was growing up and verse 51 it says he went down with them that is in jer from Jerusalem with their parents and he continued to subject to 49:16 them and his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature and the grace uh favor of favor with God and people. See this is what I see that Jesus was 49:36 filled with grace, filled with the Holy Spirit. So he could uh remain subject live in submission to imperfect parents. We need uh grace for that. and 49:54 what uh Titus I would like to read another verse in Titus chapter 2 11. So for the for the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny 50:11 ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and in the godly manner in the present age. So why grace was appeared? So that we live sensibly and because we are sinners and 50:31 the sin is so much in the world. So we have to protect ourselves. So grace has appeared so that we keep ourselves from sin. In other words, we keep our conscience clear before God and man. And verse 13, 50:50 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from the every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people of his own possession, 51:09 eager for good deeds. See what I understand here is that see God has called us that we live under grace of God that we are filled with the grace of God. How we can have grace of 51:26 God only way is humility. See that's why I think brother Charles was also mentioning see Philippians 2 says that Jesus humbled Jesus knew from the beginning that I cannot live one moment of my life 51:45 on this earth without the grace of God and God being with me for that the only path I have to go is self-denial and humility and subjection to almighty father. There is no other way. So that's 52:05 why brothers and sisters, it's very important that we don't complicate our life. We walk this path of humility. Uh it may be tough. See like uh you know the the what is the result if I don't have grace? If I don't have 52:24 grace, how do I recognize I don't have grace? I go home everything looks difficult to me. I go to office everything looks difficult. So when I don't have grace everybody's fault looks 52:42 big. I don't see my own lack. I start judging others. I stop judging myself. That's why I remember brother Zach saying once. So the happiest people are those who judge themselves and never judge others. See when we have authority over 53:02 certain things we need discernment. See as elders elders need discernment in the boundary where they have authority or a father in the home or mother in the home need to have discernment uh judge things righteously. Yes. But uh if I don't have 53:20 grace, I start feeling that everybody is wrong. I am okay. That is the indication that I don't have grace. If I have grace, see even what Brazak said, if the happiest man is the one who judges himself, never judges others. But do you 53:38 think is it's possible? It's not possible at all without the grace of God. If I have grace of God, if I am living in humility, if God gives me grace, then I don't judge. I I I I say Lord, it's not 53:56 it's beyond my that's a be there's a beautiful psalm. It always I would like to remember Psalm 131, I think. Um yeah, always I it's just three verses, maybe two verses we can remember. Verse one 54:12 and two. Oh Lord, my heart is not proud or my eyesaughty, nor do I involve myself in great matters or in things too difficult for me. See, so what a psalm. This was the 54:31 psalm by David. See, you know why we get we don't get grace? We don't get grace because we don't recognize the pride in us. Our eyes are that means very judgmental nor do I involve myself in 54:49 great matters. We always tend to go outside our boundary which is not our boundary. We tread outside our boundary and we get involved in difficult matters which is not uh it says none of our 55:04 business. We we in in interfere into a matters which is not ours. And uh here he says, "Surely I have composed and quietened my soul like a weaned child rests against his mother. 55:22 My soul is like a weaned child within me." It's a wonderful psalm. It's good to underline and remember. It's just two verses. See, if we live like that, then we are in safety. This was the life which God planned for Adam and Eve. But they're 55:42 complicated today. Life is quite complicated people. Uh for people life is too heavy, burdensome. Jesus said come to me. But you know there are three complications. There are three slaveries 56:00 which is I think Jesus spoke many times. See the first slavery is slavery to sin. Satan is so crafty. He will ent trap us into a sin and any sin this or that judge 56:17 judging others or anything hypocrisy or any kind of sin and he traps us and he he holds control over us and and then I can read that verse in Romans chapter 56:41 six. It's a well-known verse. Incidentally, I my first alarm rings. My first alarm, morning alarm. I have kept it 56:57 for 6:14. Romans 6:14. Romans 6:14. cuz I want to remember that verse all the time. So every time my first alarm rings, I see that oh sin shall not master over me. Yeah, this is what it says. For sin 57:15 shall not be master over you. For you are not under law but under grace. See if I am under grace, sin shall not master over me. See, that's how Satan schemes and plans each one of us to keep 57:32 us under his control. So, he trips us. He just makes us proud about something. So, we are out of grace and sin shall have control over us. And otherwise he 57:46 will he has another plan that is in 1 John he has a plan B it's 1 John chapter 2 verse 15 do not 58:03 love this world nor the things in the world if any of anyone loves the world and the love of the father is not in him for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh. See, has has he succeeded 58:22 has Satan succeeded in capturing our heart with the lust of the world, the lust of the flesh and love for the world and lust of the eyes and boastful pride of life. You 58:39 know we we we we we are we have all lived in that kind of a world it's not strange to us but we have a tendency to forget oh I just come come to CFC I hear nice messages say everything seems okay no we are not immune like I think 58:58 motherza said sin is like a fire even if you are 100 year old it burns so sin is like a higher. So it is oh I I I have come to a level where it doesn't I think uh if you are close to 59:16 the heart of Jesus sin shall not molest. So there's a song which says sin shall not molest us. If my heart is close to Jesus that is if I am under grace that's what the previous verse says. Otherwise he Satan captures us with the world 59:35 systems of the world busyness of the world brother I don't have time brother it's too difficult brother I don't have time at all for god and means it will crowd out god from our life from our heart rather so this is something second 59:50 I see the third I see I think if you have time you can read Matthew 13 where Jesus lambasted at uh um Pharisees you know that's another scheme of Satan being religious see coming to CFC we can 1:00:09 become so religious we do so many things externally but our inside we don't have grace we don't have relationship this simple devotion to Christ it's not there we are not sensitive sensit we lose our 1:00:27 sensitivity that can happen then that will complicate our life and we can come into a situation where we have lost that simplicity of life we are so complicated no I can't live with this I I can't live without that I can't live without this 1:00:45 or that no life is so difficult brother I I need so much salary see I I can have a standard where I am perceiving you my wife has to work I have to work I have to work 12 hours, 13 hours, 14 hours, whatever it is, like see it's it's 1:01:02 necessary. You know what Jesus spoke here. I was reading the other day. It's Matthew chapter 6. Matthew chapter 6 verse 25. For this reason I say to you, see for what 1:01:20 reason? So he's talking about uh complications for where your treasure verse 21 is there your heart will be where is our treasure is is our treasure with Jesus Christ the relationship with Jesus Christ no our heart is with Jesus 1:01:39 if our treasure is in the world brother we can't manage without this without that and before that Jesus was speaking about prayer forgiving others and fasting thing means he he wanted to make life quite simple. No, don't complicate 1:01:55 your life. It's life is quite simple. For Jesus, life was very simple. See, like yeah, I think um little further down. Yeah. Verse 23. If your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. That means Jesus was 1:02:15 mentioning that uh just keep your conscience clear. be careful with sin. He spoke so many things in Matthew 5:6 that at the end he is saying that see just keep your conscience clear and your life will be simple. The 1:02:34 desire for relationship with God and yeah necessary you fast and pray and forgive others. Be careful with sin. Keep your conscience clear. And then he talks about verse 24. No one can serve two masters. Be careful about serving 1:02:50 money. Money can become your master. Sorry. Money can become your master. Money can become my master very easily. Very easily. Things can become 1:03:10 so complicated, difficult, very difficult, heavy, burdensome. But Jesus said, "My yoke is easy. My burden is light. But this is what Jesus is warning. Then he says, "For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your 1:03:29 life." He's not saying, "Do not be anxious about this, this." No, for your life, do not be anxious. I don't want you to be anxious because I have a simple, uncomplicated, a restful life for you. But if you miss that you miss 1:03:49 everything. That's what he is saying. Verse 32. For these things he was talking about very very very basic needs of life. Jesus was saying clothing and what to drink, what to eat. He's talking about birds of the air, how they 1:04:06 live. God the father will take care of all of that. Then you are more precious and do not be anxious. Verse 31. And verse 32 he said Gentiles e eagerly seek after these things. Gentiles know how to complicate their life. Their life will 1:04:26 be complicated only. Gentiles life will be complicated. But we are not Gentiles. We are children of God. We believe in Jesus Christ. We want to that that's that's what I'm coming to. See, Jesus was manifested to us to present a 1:04:45 simple, uncomplicated, graceful life on earth and full of love, full of grace and truth that is presented to us. But are we after that or we want Jesus half and something else, our own half? It 1:05:05 doesn't work. That is religiosity. religiosity is uh I I want external uh I want Jesus Sunday uh Monday to Saturday my own it doesn't work so it should be Jesus alone and then that's why he said 1:05:24 uh your heavenly father knows what you need all that you need all these things seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you don't complicate your life Then therefore do not be anxious uh 1:05:40 about tomorrow and tomorrow will worry about itself. Uh I don't want to miss how it is written in Living Bible Matthew 1:06:00 6:34. Don't be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time. Live one day at a time. This is the simple life God has called us to. That's what uh Paul was 1:06:18 also concerned. See, he was afraid that the the Satan will deceive you into a complicated religious life or a worldly life or he will keep you in a clutches of sin that you will lose that simple devotion to Christ. That means life will 1:06:37 be simple. People may say that people in the world those who don't have say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say say that 1:06:43 h no no no how can we manage how can we manage we have to do this oh this is necessary this is necessary they may say that but the thing is when we see the life of people godly people in the scriptures even in our own life wherever 1:06:59 we have seen godly life it's unexplainable it's god provides their need god provides their needs. That's why we all need to be a witnesses. When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we are supposed to be a witnesses that see we 1:07:16 we can be witnesses to our children. No, my life is not complicated. Don't complicate your life. We can tell our children, don't look at the world and have the anxiety and fear of this rat race. Don't fear. Peter could manage. 1:07:34 John could manage. They were fishermen. Jesus was a carpenter. The wonderful, glorious life they lived. Even in our midst, they can be an example. And we can tell children, don't fear. Don't get into the trap of Satan. Don't complicate your life. Just 1:07:52 trust in the Lord. It's a simple life. And don't complicate yourself. We can see the thing is we can speak in words, but our children watch our own life. See our you know there is a phrase which says your your life speaks louder than 1:08:11 your words but our life should speak that's what we must pray that uh that we'll be filled with grace and truth I would like to see I I would like to read that verse in Psalm 147:10 where he does not delight in the 1:08:29 strength of the horse he does not take pleasure in the legs of a And you know that's what the Lord looks at. And the Lord favors verse 11 1471 favors those who fear him those who wait for his loving 1:08:49 kindness. We can say for his grace and uh Acts 15:10. Now therefore, why why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither your fathers nor we 1:09:07 have been able to bear. See this can be a we can make a religious heaviness ourselves like Christian life can become heavy. We can show to children. Children can say no no hold on I will accept Jesus little later. I 1:09:23 I let me enjoy some more. Let me have a easy life for some more time. Do do children feel like that or they feel that you have a easy life. I seem to have a complicated life. Do they desire our life? See, we we we have to be 1:09:42 filled with the Holy Spirit to present that kind of a life. And uh 1 John 5:3 says, "For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome. It is possible only by the grace of God. When we are filled, when 1:10:00 we are walking in humility, when we have grace upon our life, then we can show this kind of simple life to people." Even in fact Philippians 4 where Paul was presenting this he's talking about his own life verse 11 he 1:10:20 said not that I speak of need he was talking about money matters but he says I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am in his life was so simple he was writing from jail but he learned the secret of living under grace 1:10:37 of God and He was content. It doesn't mean see it doesn't mean that oh we don't have any problem difficulties and thing. No no no for the child of God there is no difficulty and problem and all these things means it's all designed and 1:10:53 permitted by God according to your capacity you only when we are ready to face the God provides that kind of a test and like I I remember Brazak saying when I think about last days and persecution and all that great 1:11:11 tribulation I'm a coward I fear but he said something like this at that time and God will enable me and grant me grace so that I can face it without any fear and anxiety because God will give me grace. See that is what Christian 1:11:30 life is. Then it is not complicated. God wants us to live a life of rest and simplicity. Here he is saying I know how to get along with little and also know how to live in prosperity and in every circumstances. Amazing. Any you see he 1:11:48 is just saying that I can live in any circumstances. I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry both having abundance and suffering in need. I can do all things through Christ who 1:12:04 strengthens me by his grace. What is the strength? Strengthening by his grace. I think Hebrews 3:9 says that you should be strengthened by grace in your heart. Your heart should be strengthened by 1:12:22 grace. That's that's what we need. One uh Peter also says about it. I just read last phrase. See uh verse 5 uh chapter 5:5. Young men likewise be subject to your elders and all of you clothe yourself 1:12:41 with humility. See is footing foundation. Clothe yourself in humility toward one another. Humility that's what we have heard many times. Brazak saying humility is the secret the core secret of Christian life because God is opposed to 1:13:01 the proud but the uh he gives grace to the humble. Therefore, humble yourself. See how many times he's saying the humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. He will exalt you. In every situation, he will exalt you. Every 1:13:18 situation he will exalt you. Having cast all your anxiety upon him. Be sober in spirit. Alert your adversity. Adversary. Devil prawls like a roaring lion seeking to devour you and put you under clutches and complicate your life. But resist him 1:13:37 firm in your faith, knowing that same experiences, sufferings that are accomplished by your brothers and sisters who are in the world. Don't fear. After you have suffered for a little while, God of all grace, who called you to his eternal 1:13:57 glory in Christ, will himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish. See what a comfort it is. is he himself perfect, confirmed, strengthened, and establish you. To him be dominion forever and ever through Sylvanas, our 1:14:14 faithful brother. For so I regard him, I have written to you briefly exorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it. We are supposed to be standing firm in this grace in humility so that our life is 1:14:34 simple not complicated and we can be threat to the devil. May the Lord help us. We have a song. We have a song. Yeah. after the song uh something 1:14:53 interesting exactly one year back 12th of one day less by the way 12th of May brother Ian shared a word of encouragement to 1:15:09 mothers today being a mother's day okay so uh mothers the lord loves you so exactly one year back but very interestingly uh I noted it down I told brother Sudhakr see this is the last message 1:15:28 which brother Ian spoke after some time we realized he never spoke from your pulpit that was the last message he spoke he spoke to the mothers uh for your encouragement we will play it again um let's hear to me. [Music] 1:16:40 We rest on thee, our shield and our defender. We go not for the Lord against the Lord. Strong in thy 1:16:59 strength, safe in thy keeping tender. We rest on thee. And in thy way we go. Strong in thy 1:17:15 strength, safe in thy keeping tender. We rest on thee. And in thy name we go. Yes. In thy 1:17:31 name. Oh captain of salvation. In thy j your name. all other names above. Jesus our 1:17:48 rightuousness, our sure foundation, our prince of glory and our king of love. Jesus our 1:18:04 righteousness, our sure foundation, our prince of glory and our king of love. We go in faith our own 1:18:23 great feeling and needing more each day thy praise the Lord. Get from our hearts a song of triumph we 1:18:41 live. We rest on thee. And in thy name we [Music] go. The song of triumph we 1:18:58 live. We rest on thee. and in thy name. Yeah, so 1:19:34 true. What sa said the most selfless people are mothers and I think of my mother who brought up seven children. You know mothers even at the 1:19:56 dining table will deny themselves and we don't know it. They let somebody else let one other some other child have that extra piece of cake or whatever it is and we don't even know it. 1:20:17 I pray that all the mothers in this church would really seek to follow Jesus, Jesus's mother. you know, 1:20:36 we look down on Roman Catholics and uh we don't worship Mary, but I believe that she is one of 1:20:58 the mothers that is going to be close to the throne of Jesus. Not because she was the mother of Jesus. And I want to share with 1:21:19 you three mothers whose examples I want to encourage all the mothers here to follow. And uh The first one is just what 1:21:38 I shared with you, what I said. Luke chapter one, if you can turn there if you I'm now going to uh preach a sermon here. I want you to do some homework and meditate. Not just read 1:21:57 these scriptures, but meditate on them. And I'm sure you'll you'll get so much from it. And that's what I do. I don't just skip things. And you know when we come across Mary and we go overboard on the other 1:22:16 side of Roman Catholics, Mother Theresa. Many people despise despise what she has done for Jesus for selfless life. 1:22:35 None of us have even done a fraction. So I don't venerate her but I want to follow her example and many like 1:22:51 this you know we can go overboard like the brethren who silence sisters they ought not to speak in the church. That is true. I mean, woman cannot teach. But there are other things that 1:23:10 sisters can do. Then the most wonderful thing they can do is to bring up the children of the child that God has given them and uh they contribute so much to 1:23:29 the lifeline of this church. I hope you see that. Now I see it and I thank God for every sister who's a godly mother who seeks to bring up their children in the ways of the Lord. And those who are not yet married 1:23:47 as many of you would one day want to be a mother not just a bride. You want to be a mother to bring up children who would honor the Lord and walk in his ways. So just a couple of verses there in Luke in 1:24:06 chapter one, you know, after the angel had visited Mary and uh she said in verse 38, Zechariah said, you know, almost 1:24:25 automatically, it looks like he said the same thing that Mary said, but he was dumb because he did not believe the words the message the angel brought about John being the forerunner of Jesus. But Mary said, you know, in verse 1:24:44 36 says, "Behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called married is now in her sixth month. For nothing will be impossible with God. 1:25:04 Nothing will be impossible." in the margin. If you have a margin, it says not any word literally that means not any word that God has spoken will be impossible. All God's promises are yay and 1:25:21 amen. And Mary said in response, "Behold the bondslave of the Lord. Behold the bondslave of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. There's so much there. We see her 1:25:45 humility that she submitted. She believed that no word will be impossible. If God said it, he will do it. And so she submitted. says, "I'm the one slay of 1:26:04 the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." And the angel departed. And verse 46, when she sings this song which they call the Magnificate in school, we used to sing it the boarding school. You know, I went 1:26:22 to a whatever it was an Anglican uh church and chapel. Mary said, I would encourage all of you and even the brothers, the fathers, you know, meditate, read and 1:26:41 meditate on this magnificant, the song that Mary sang. And Mary said, "My soul exalts the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God, my Savior, for he has had regard for the humble 1:27:01 state of his born slave. For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed. For the mighty one has done great things for me and holy is his name and his 1:27:20 mercies upon generation after generation to those who fear him. He has done mighty deeds with his arm. He has scattered those who are proud in the imaginations of their heart. Not just by the words they say 1:27:36 but you you think you're somebody great. He has scattered those. You will be scattered. You will not be built up into what God is doing in these days and that is building the body of Christ. He has brought down rulers from their 1:27:54 thrones. He has exalted those who were humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent away the rich empty-handed. Those who are hungry will be fed 1:28:12 always. And uh those who are rich are sent empty away. And he has given help to Israel his servant in remembrance of his mercy as he spoke to our fathers to Abraham and 1:28:30 his and his descendants forever. I'd encourage you to meditate on that. I tell you, you will be truly blessed. You will understand what God has regard for true humility. Not just that Mary had 1:28:49 submitted and that the son of God was going to be conceived in her womb, but all the women on the earth. There was one woman, one sister that he chose to be the mother of 1:29:07 his son Mary. Not because of any other quality or attribute or whatever it is, but because of a humility. So my dear sisters, you've heard this in the 1:29:26 church. The secret of godliness, the secret of a victorious life, the secret of of being a blessing to your family, to your children, and to the to the church. You've heard it. 1:29:44 Humility, humility, humility. God has regard for the humble state of those who are humb humble. So I trust that that would grip 1:30:02 your heart on this Mother's Day. Lord, I want to humble myself. I don't want to have proud thoughts. I want don't want to do something in the church to be recognized. I just want to humble myself. I don't even want to do that to 1:30:18 be recognized as a humble sister. And that takes something. But as you meditate on those in the scriptures who humble themselves and as you meditate on the humility of Jesus the greatest example in Philippians 1:30:36 2 I tell you there's nothing better if you lived a 100 lifetimes that if you were gripped in your heart you will be a blessing to every generation if you lived in every 1:30:54 generation and Another thing there about her in verse 51 of chapter 2 and verse 51 and verse 34 and uh 35 first of all you know when Simeon when they went to 1:31:14 dedicate that's why we dedicate children they went to dedicate Jesus in the temple and he was waiting for that Simeon was waiting for that day cuz God had promised him that he would not he would not depart from this world till he 1:31:31 saw the Messiah, saw the anointed one. And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel." And then you can read that as a church. and for a sign to be 1:31:48 opposed and a sword will pierce even your own souls to the end that the thoughts from many hearts may be revealed. And that's the word that's spoken to me through the years. The thoughts of my heart will is 1:32:07 revealed in the church because of the new covenant because this child Jesus is appointed for the fall and rise of many and for a sign to be opposed. That's what we have seen. Why 1:32:27 the church is opposed in whether I rise or fall, that's the choice I make if I want to humble myself and follow Jesus. And in verse 51, you know, it 1:32:43 says uh after they found Jesus in the temple, you know, I like this. It says his mother treasured all these things in her heart. She did not question anything. We see her humility there. So 1:32:59 I pray that that will be your desire, your longing, not that you understand it, my dear sisters, and you will be a blessing to every to your generation. Behold, from this time on 1:33:18 all generations will count me blessed. If you humble yourself and you be an example of humility to your children first to the church and every time even when you leave this earth when people think of 1:33:36 you they will think what a blessed sister this was in our midst. I hope that is what you long for. And uh the second very quickly the second example is in second 2 second Timothy chapter 1 1:33:54 verse 5. You've heard that also. Second Timothy chapter 1 verse 5. This is Paul writing. He says to Timothy, "I constantly I 1:34:12 I con I thank God whom I serve with a clear conscience. I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day longing to see you. And even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy. For I am mindful of the sincere faith 1:34:31 within you which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Ununice. Here are the second and third examples which first dwelt in your 1:34:49 grandmother and in your mother Ununice. So all the grandmothers here is also grandmother's day I hope you see that and I hope that you have planted faith in your daughter's heart who married and now born 1:35:05 children what a work that is Lo had done a wonderful work the faith that she had and the way she walked with God and trusted God she put into her daughter Ununice's heart and 1:35:24 ununice put that you know as Paul says there and your mother ununice and I'm sure that it is in you as well I hope mothers you would take that as a challenge grandmothers I hope that that is what 1:35:46 you seek to do if not if you're if you're still there living with your daughter or whatever it is that you would continue to seek to put faith into your daughter's heart and the daughter will put that 1:36:05 same faith into her son into her son's heart and that's what Ununice did she helped to put faith she didn't leave any property even though her husband was a rich Greek businessman man. She didn't live property and a lot 1:36:23 of money and a big bank account. She left a legacy that young Timothy, this boy would grow up in the ways of the Lord and would one day become an apostle. And that's why and an apostle. And that's why in verse six, he says, "For this 1:36:43 reason, I remind you to kindle aresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of timidity but of power and love and discipline. Young Timothy was a timid 1:37:03 boy. But his mother never failed to put that faith in his heart and to help him to get rid of his timidity to help him to grow up. You know, trusting God and having the power of the Holy 1:37:24 Spirit. God has not given us a spirit of timidity. Mothers, remind your children, not just your sons, but your sons and daughters. God has not given us spirit of timidity. That's the faith he put into their hearts. We're living in a perverse 1:37:40 generation. They have precious to uh that they come under which you and I have not faced. But if you put faith into their hearts, if you help them to have the power of the Holy Spirit, God has not 1:37:57 given you, my son, my daughter, a spirit of timidity. Don't be afraid of that bully in school. Don't be afraid of that guy in college who thinks he's something and he wants to get you to conform. God has not given you a 1:38:15 spirit of timidity. Mothers, I hope you're listening to that. That is what even though your husband, I mean, he's working so many hours a day, probably not there in the home, but here is something that you can take upon 1:38:33 yourself. And if your mother has put faith into you, she's not, but you've been coming to a church. And I hope you have that faith to put into your children a spirit of power and love and 1:38:51 discipline and remind them, you have, my son, my daughter, you have not received a spirit of timidity. You have received a spirit of power. Encourage them to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Encourage them to walk in the ways of the Lord. Encourage them to 1:39:10 be different, to be willing to be different in school, in college, and not compromise and go along with their worldly friends. What a work you will do. What a work you can do. A lifetime. 1:39:28 Every generation will call you blessed if you can do that with your children. And on this Mother's Day, I want you to I challenge you seek God yourself for a spirit of power, of 1:39:47 love and discipline. That's what I sought to do with my children as best as I could. And that's what my wife who has gone on to glory has sought to do the best to the best ability she 1:40:05 could and she did a great job in bringing apart children, teaching them the ways of the Lord, putting them faith in their hearts and they saw that in their parents in different different situations when we were in in a tight 1:40:22 corner when when when we faced difficult situations when we face problems. So many things they would they would sometimes come in and see us on our knees 1:40:40 praying and we would always remind them trust God walk by faith don't walk by sight and we sought to remind them till today they are reminded and I pray that every mother here who has listened to these 1:40:59 words would really take this as a challenge. Here are three examples. Mary the mother of Jesus. Lo the grandmother and grandmothers you can follow her example and Ununice the mother who brought up her young son that he became an 1:41:19 apostle and we have we are blessed today. Generations have been blessed because of young Timothy. There was uh something I've shared with you. It's a plaque that we have in our home that was given to 1:41:38 Vicki, my wife, by her mother. And I just thought I'll uh share that with you. And it says only mother. Nobody knows of the work it takes to keep the home together. 1:41:57 Nobody knows of the steps it takes. Nobody knows but mother. Nobody listens to childish wars which kisses kindly mother. Nobody. Nobody's pain by 1:42:15 naughty blows. Nobody. Only mother. Nobody knows of the anxious fears less darlings may not weather the storms of life in after 1:42:31 years. Nobody knows but mother. Nobody kneels at the throne above to thank the heavenly father for that sweetest gift of mother's love. Nobody can but 1:42:49 mother. And there was another little plaque we had in the kitchen. Mothers are the most beautiful people in the world. Amen. May God bless us. Mothers and fathers. Let's bow our heads in 1:43:07 prayer. And we want to thank the Lord for every one of you. Every mother here. We want to thank you that you are the lifeline of this church if you're walking in the ways of the Lord and bringing up your children in the ways of the Lord. Heavenly 1:43:27 Father, we thank you for all these dear mothers whom you've given to us in the church who are precious to you. You love them and you care for 1:43:44 them. Whatever it is they face and whatever it is they go through, help them to know that you love them as much as you love Jesus. And fill them with your Holy Spirit. Help her to seek to be immersed 1:44:03 in your spirit that timidity and unbelief and fear will be removed from their lives and they can impart to their children. Every one of them if they are still living in the 1:44:22 home or already gone away from the home they would still seek to impart to their children the holy the Holy Spirit of power and love and discipline. They would still seek to put faith in their children even if they are 1:44:40 living away from the home that they can follow in your ways. Lord bless them. Bless every mother here with faith and with a tremendous and an abundance of 1:44:58 grace to teach their children the ways of the Lord to teach them to be different from the other children in school, in college, the workplace, and to be full of the Holy Spirit and to be full of love, the love 1:45:17 God spread abroad in their hearts and to be full of the spirit of discipline to live a disciplined life that will bring glory and honor to your name. We thank you for every one of them and we pray that you bless them. Bless 1:45:33 their families, bless the fathers and the grandmothers and every family that you've given to us in the church. We want to praise you and thank you in Jesus name. Amen. Where is
