And the first few verses in Hebrews 12 say this. That we are Hebrews 12 and verse 2. Fixing our eyes on Jesus. 20:31 Who is the author and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12 verse 2. Who for the joy set before him endured the cross. And despised the shame. And is sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. And we are told here in the last part of verse 1. 20:52 We are running a race. Fixing our eyes on Jesus. So looking unto Jesus. And Jesus is called a forerunner. So this is like a marathon race. That we are running our Christian life. And Jesus has gone ahead of us. As an example. 21:12 And we are to look at him. So looking at his example is a very good thing to do. Because that's what it says here. Fixing our eyes on Jesus. We look unto him and run the race. Looking unto Jesus as some Bibles translate it. 21:30 The great danger is. But then. The great danger is. That. We can think the Christian life is an imitation of Christ. There is a very famous book. Called the imitation of Christ. I think it's written by a Roman Catholic man. 21:49 But it's very popular. Among Protestants and Christians. But the title is completely wrong. Because imitation of Christ. Even Mahatma Gandhi tried to imitate Christ. And different people through the ages. Have tried to look at Christ's life. 22:05 And try to live like that. But that is. You know. Like a dog pretending to be a man. Or trying to imitate something. We are not really. Having the same nature. See. An unconverted person. The world is full of people. 22:25 Whose connection with God is broken. So therefore. When they imitate Christ. It will only be on the outside. Whereas the Bible says. That God looks at the heart. And so. To manifest the life of Christ. Christ must. 22:45 Begin. In the heart. Let me give you. Another example. In Matthew's gospel. One of the first things we read. Yesterday. We saw one of the first things. That Jesus. Being tempted. In Matthew chapter 4. And then he said. In Matthew 4:17. 23:05 Repent. Matthew 4:19. Follow me. And then. He said. To his disciples. Follow me. That is. In verse 19. Matthew 4:17. Repent. Matthew 4:19. Follow me. These are almost the first. Words of the gospel. Repent means. Turn around from your sin. 23:25 And start following Jesus. But then. He began to describe in chapter 5. 6. And 7. What it means to follow him. It's a very high standard. I want all of you. Sometime to read. Matthew 5. 23:45 6. And 7. Slowly. And if you go to the website. We have. A series. There. Which you can. Listen to online. All that Jesus taught. And there. If you go to there. You can. 24:05 Listen to the. Where I shared on Matthew 5. 6. And 7. On the. Sermon on the Mount. And it's a very high standard. But. At the end of that. He says. That. Verse. 18. Is a very important. 24:25 Verse. A good. Tree. Cannot produce. Bad. Fruit. Matthew 7. Verse. 18. And a bad tree. Cannot bear. Good fruit. So. After giving this. Whole message. On the very high standard. Is one of the. 24:45 Highest standard. Of life. That you read. In the New Testament. Matthew 5. 6. And 7. Will really be challenged. And. When we started. CFC. In 1975. The first study. I took. Was a series of. On discipleship. 25:05 Luke 14. Where I said. You can't be a disciple. Jesus said. Unless you love me. More than. Everybody else. On the earth. That's number one. And then. The second thing. He said. Was you can't. Be a disciple. Of mine. If you don't. 25:20 Die to yourself. And seek. To. Follow me. Love. And the third thing. He said. Was you can't. Be a disciple. Of mine. If you. Don't. Give up. Your. Love of possessions. You must not. Possess. Any earthly thing. You can have many things. 25:40 You know. I can have something. In my life. But I must not. Possess it. Because. If I hold on to something. On this earth. Is very. Precious. That will hinder me. From following the Lord. You can have your house. In your name. 25:55 You can have the money. In your bank account. In your name. But if you possess it. In such a way. As if this is what. I'm clinging on to. To survive on this earth. You won't be able. To follow the Lord. So those are the conditions. 26:07 Of discipleship. You read it sometime. In Luke 14. 26. 27. And 33. Those verses. Luke 14. 26. 27. And 33. Basically. What he said was. You must love me. More than anyone else. On the earth. Secondly. You must. Die to yourself. 26:25 And follow me. Every day. And third. You must not. Cling on to anything. On this earth possesses. Have. Any number of things. On this earth. But don't possess them. As if that is your life. That is how you become a disciple. 26:39 Once you become a disciple. Then you come to the Sermon on the Mount. And that's the next thing we studied. When CFC started. First. The three conditions of discipleship. And then we studied the Sermon on the Mount. For a number of months. 26:52 We went through these studies. And that's how we started CFC. And we laid a foundation. But then. This is important. What I just read. In verse. Chapter 7. Matthew 7. 19. A tree. A good tree. Verse 18. Cannot produce bad fruit. 27:10 And a bad tree. Cannot produce good fruit. Now. When we are born. With Adam's nature. It's a bad tree. Remember that. And. If you make a. Try to make a bad tree. Produce good fruit. You cannot do it. A bad tree. Will only produce bad fruit. 27:31 So what some Christians do. Who have not really been born again. They read about these standards of Christianity. Love others. And be humble. And be good. And that's like a man who. Who's got a very bad tree. And all the. 27:45 Fruit is very bad. And rotten. So he cuts off all that. And he goes to the market. And by say a mango tree. He goes and buys some good mangoes in the market. And ties it up on this tree. And makes everybody think that. My tree is so beautiful. 28:00 Look at the lovely mangoes it is producing. It's not producing it. He bought the mangoes in the market. And tied it up in the branches. And he's fooling everybody. now nobody does that but that is what many christians are doing they haven't got the life 28:15 of christ in them they are not filled with the holy spirit but they read about love so they get love and say okay i must love everybody and they read about humility okay i better humble myself before others that is like buying fruit from the market you buy mangoes from the market and tie it 28:32 on the tree here and there and fool everybody that your life is so fruitful it's a deception now that illustration is a perfect example of how many christians are living and my dear brothers and sisters i don't want you to feel condemned but perhaps some of you are living like that 28:52 you're trying to act humble and loving and good and doing all the things that christians are supposed to do come to church and read the bible but not from an inner desire there's a lot of difference when you do it from an inner desire you know the bible speaks about birds 29:15 that are dirty now crow for example is a dirty bird it's always eating rotten stuff but the bible speaks of the dove the dove we see we don't see many doves very often in bangalore but that is a beautiful white bird which is always pure and the dove will not go after all the dirty things that a 29:35 crow will go after now if a crow paints itself up and tries to pretend like a dove that's a deception but that is exactly how some christians are they don't have an inner desire to love others but they try to love they don't have an inner desire to always remain humble but they try to act humble they don't have 29:59 an inner desire to be totally pure but they try to be totally pure that is a crow trying to act like a dove now dear brothers and sisters i'm not trying to condemn any of you all i'm trying to say is that is not the christian life that is a very frustrating life oh i'm not supposed to get angry 30:21 with my wife even when she behaves badly so i struggle struggle struggle struggle and then i burst out because i cannot control myself anymore that is not christianity there is a better way and that's what i want to explain to you that jesus said when i go away i will send the holy spirit 30:42 and the holy spirit will come inside and make us partakers of the divine nature that's an amazing thing that god allows us to partake of his nature so that we from inwardly we desire what is pure and we hate what is evil it's like a dove it just hates 31:06 what is evil or take a example of animals a pig and a cat a pig just loves to wallow in the mire but if you put a chain on a pig that you hold it it doesn't go here it doesn't go there you can keep the pig from getting dirty and the pig can get a good testimony that i walked through a very dirty 31:27 part and i did not get dirty but that's because somebody was always pulling it with chains but when a cat walks through a dirty part it doesn't need any chain it doesn't go into those dirty things it keeps it wants to keep itself clean or like i use the example of the dove and the crow so what i'm trying 31:47 to say is what god wants to give us is a nature that loves to be pure that loves to be clean and humble and loves to fear god and obey his word and loves to read god's word isn't that better than somebody saying hey you must read the bible every morning when you get up that's like forcing a pig to behave 32:13 like a cat now don't do that don't do this don't go here do this do this that is not the christian life that's a good way to start but that's not the christian life that is a sort of a disciplined external life and i want to tell you there's a better way 32:32 and that better way is allowing the holy spirit to give us that desire from within when you have an inner desire produced by the holy spirit inside your heart that makes you want to be pure want to be humble want to serve others want to witness for jesus nobody has to force you say come 32:52 on be a witness for christ tell others about jesus so often we hear such exotations in the church and we try to do it and we know it is artificial it's not really coming from within we're just doing it because we heard in the church that we must witness for christ we're in the church we heard that we must 33:14 forgive our wives so we forgive our wives even if you don't feel like forgiving her my dear brothers sisters that is not christianity that is a a pretense it's acting like a christian it's like you know this the hollywood has made movies about some old testament stories there's a movie about 33:36 moses called ten commandments and some godless actor who does not fear god who's a drunkard perhaps acts like moses there now he's not like moses always in his life but for those few hours a day when he's coming into this stage and they are filming the film on moses he acts dresses like moses and speaks like 34:00 moses and behaves like moses and then when the three hour acting time is over he goes home and drinks and behaves like himself now is your christianity like that that when you come to church or when you mingle with believers then you act then you act then you're like a hollywood actor acting like a christian 34:21 in times when you're with christians and then when that act time is over you're not with christian then you're with your unconverted friends and in the office then you'll behave like yourself that's exactly like hollywood acting 34:34 and in the the new testament was written in greek and in the greek language the word for actor is hypocrite and that word has been brought into the indian language into the english language and you find 34:54 hypocrisy jesus was always warning the pharisees about hypocrisy he he warned his disciples don't be like the pharisees who are hypocrites i mean the correct translation of that if they had translated it from the greek into english it should have been like this don't be like the pharisees who are actors 35:21 so acting we can understand all this hollywood and bollywood and all people who act holy but they're not really that all the time so jesus warned his disciples of the great danger of acting like a christian behaving like a christian on the outside and to save us from all that they could not live like that when jesus was 35:45 on earth why even on the last in the last supper even though jesus taught them so much about humility and showed his own life as an example in humility and yet in the last supper you know when they were sitting together and eating and they saw jesus washing their feet still what is the thing they are discussing 36:08 at the last supper what is the subject of their conversation among themselves who is going to take over the leadership after jesus goes away can you imagine that it's like children waiting for the father to die and saying who's going to get the money now daddy's going to die in a few 36:32 days who's going to get the money now that's exactly how those disciples were at the day of in the last supper now jesus says he's going away in a few days so who's going to be the greatest who's going to be the leader when when the jesus when he came to earth he had no such desire 36:52 in fact we read have you read this in john chapter 6 i often refer to this john chapter 6 and you may have heard me mention it before it says in john chapter 6 that after jesus fed the 5 000 they wanted to make him a king because they said this is really the prophet that we were waiting for 37:15 john chapter 6 and verse 14 this is the prophet so verse 15 jesus saw that they were coming to make him a king and it says here he just went away from there he got into the a boat and he first of all verse 16 when 37:37 he saw they were going to make him a king he got ran away to a mountain to be alone because he did not want to become a king he came to be a servant now how many believers have that spirit there are many believers sitting in churches who are waiting to become elders 38:03 and some people are itching itching when will i when will they make me an elder or a facilitator and when they see somebody else being made a facilitator they feel a bit jealous were you a bit jealous yesterday some of you brothers because you were not selected to be a facilitator judge yourself 38:23 that means you've got a longing to be recognized by people look at jesus in john chapter 6 verse 15 when they wanted to make him a king he ran away he would not let them make him a king he said i've come here to be a servant oh we need more people like that in the church 38:42 we we could of course we got to take responsibility in the church to be elders but we don't love that position anybody who loves to be an elder is 100 unfit to be an elder that's number one condition to be an elder is you have no desire to be an elder you only want to serve people and serve people and serve 39:01 people then you qualify to be an elder but if you have love to be an elder oh brother you're totally unfit and i hope you never in your life you'll become an elder because the one number one qualification to be an elder is you have no desire to be an elder but only a desire to serve others and help others and 39:18 bless others and not get any recognition for yourself not get any praise for yourself not want anybody to admire you that's the number one qualification to be a good elder but that's not how it is in christendom people are just reaching to be pastors and leaders and archbishops and 39:35 bishops and reverend and all that rubbish so in the midst of all this i want to say this is the result when people try to act like christ so please remember there's a lot of difference between the imitation of christ and partaking of the divine nature the bible speaks about partaking of 39:55 his nature that's why when god gives us the holy spirit he comes within he produces within us the nature of christ and takes how did for example how did you get the nature of adam the corrupt evil nature of adam you did not produce it from childhood you did not your parents did not train you saying come on act 40:19 selfish tell lies fight with people they were not training you to behave badly as a child you grew up all of us including me we grew up and automatically we told lies automatically we fought with others automatically we were selfish we sought our own and we disobeyed authority and 40:41 all it was automatic why nobody taught us all of you sitting here when as you grew up as children nobody taught you to be bad nobody taught you to be evil and all your children also you know that very well it's a you try to be good but you can't it's a nature inside that makes you fight 41:02 you rather fight than have peace that is a nature and now in the old testament they could not partake of god's nature so god gave them commandments and to use an illustration it's like there were a whole lot of pigs and to keep the pigs from getting dirty they were tied with 41:24 10 chains called the 10 commandments and there were not only 10 chains there were 613 commandments that god gave the israelites in the old testament in the books of moses from exodus to euteronomy and that was like 613 chains that he put on the people saying don't do this and do this you must 41:42 do this you must do that you must and with all those chains he tried to keep the israelites from worshipping idols and loving money and fighting with each other but in spite of all that they broke those chains and disobeyed god throughout the old testament right from exodus all the way to malachi 42:02 so that type of religion is useless it's a religion of trying to control ourselves and hear the exhortation in the church you can sit in cfc and be just like those israelites hearing commandments from the pulpit don't be like this and don't do like that don't know and you can be under the old covenant now i want 42:23 to liberate you from that because the old covenant has been has been cancelled out so in that connection i want you to turn for a moment to hebrews in chapter eight listen to this this is one of the very precious passages 42:46 of what is the difference between the old covenant or old testament and new testament new covenant covenant just means agreement so the old testament books is the old agreement that god made with man and the new testament books are the new agreement that god has made with man unfortunately many christians 43:10 are called themselves christians but they are living at the principle of the old agreement now here is the new agreement hebrews chapter 8 verse 8 first of all he says in verse 7 the first covenant or agreement was faulty 43:29 if it was perfect then there was no need for a new covenant hebrews 8 verse 7 but he finds fault with that old covenant then we can say why did god give the old covenant at all because god had to first make man aware of his terrible sinful nature 43:51 you know unless you're convinced that you've got a sickness you will not go to a doctor correct if you think you're healthy you will not go to a doctor it's only when you're convinced that you're sick and dying that you will go to a doctor that was the purpose of the old covenant to show you 44:10 that there's a sickness inside your nature and we constantly god's commandments you're disobeying disobeying disobeying our conscience is convicting us convicting us convicting us those who are honest we'll admit i've got a nature that is corrupt and so jesus came with a new covenant 44:30 and i want to explain this simply because there are many people sitting here you hear about the new covenant and maybe somebody has not explained it to you simply i have always felt that the mark of a good teacher is if he or she in a school can explain things so simply that the most uneducated 44:50 illiterate person they can understand if only the clever children in a class can understand that is not a good teacher a good teacher is one who can make even the most foolish child in the class understand so i'm not a good bible teacher if the most simplest person sitting here 45:10 cannot understand the gospel that i preach that's why i seek to preach in a way not using a lot of clever things from here and there in the scripture but trying to explain to you that there's a wonderful message in this new covenant so the first covenant was faulty so god says in hebrews 8 and verse 8 i will 45:34 make a new covenant please look at it in your bible and this is not like the covenant i made with the egyptians with the israelites who came out of egypt verse 9 this is a new covenant and now listen that new covenant is described in verse 10 11 and 12 45:55 verse 10 and 11 are based on verse 12 12 12 is the foundation and 11 and 10 are on that that's the building so look at it there so let's start with the foundation which is verse 12 the foundational truth of the new covenant please look carefully at hebrews 8 12 this is the number one thing you must experience 46:18 the lord says first of all before you partake of my nature i have to forgive you from all the wretched sins you've committed in the past that that's how we begin in other words we are cleaning the house first cleaning up all the muck that is in you because of the guilt guilt is a terrible thing 46:42 your conscience you know that dogs don't feel guilty unless you train a dog it doesn't naturally feel guilty about anything a pig doesn't feel guilty about anything and human beings also we don't feel guilty unless but we've got a conscience that tells us we are wrong 46:58 but from childhood we can kill that conscience so many times by disobeying disobeying parents disobeying authorities that afterwards sometimes that conscience dies and some people are like that they do something wrong and they're not even convicted about it i met people like that i remember the navy 47:16 i met one man who could go and commit adultery with a prostitute and he was quite happy he never felt guilty about it his conscience had died so much and he called himself a christian his conscience had died so much that he could commit adultery and just laugh about it that's terrible when your conscience is so 47:33 dead that you can commit a sin and not even be convicted that's like losing sensation when you get leprosy when people get leprosy in their hand they don't feel anything you poke them with a pin and they don't feel it you poke them strongly they don't feel it that's a terrible thing leprosy 47:54 in the heart in the heart is a dead conscience that means you can shout at your wife and not get convicted that you did something wrong you can shout at your husband get angry and you don't feel convicted or a child can disobey daddy and mommy and you don't feel bad about it something is wrong 48:13 that is leprosy you're doing something wrong the skin the holy spirit is trying to poke you and tell you you're wrong but you don't feel it because you've got spiritual leprosy jesus has come to heal you of that and the first step is to be honest all you children please listen to 48:32 me the first step in your christian life is to be honest that you did something wrong don't try to cover up the wrong that you did if daddy and mommy asked you did you do it say immediately i'm sorry daddy i'm sorry mommy i did that i acknowledge it that is a good boy and a good girl there's great hope 48:56 for you but if you try to hide things from your parents i'll tell you it'll go very badly with you you may pass in your school examinations but in god's examination you'll fail and that's terrible so what does god say to us if you feel guilty about your sin that guilt has to be removed 49:19 and so he says in verse 12 i'll be merciful to their iniquities that means i will forgive their sins and not only that i will not remember their sins anymore that is the foundation god says i will not remember your sins anymore you know it took me about two or three years after i 49:41 was really born again to understand that my past was blotted out that god doesn't remember it anymore all of you can remember all the wrong things you did in your life at least most of the wrong things you did in your life you remember particularly if you did some very bad things i'm sure you remember 50:00 you and your children older people you remember some of the terribly wrong things you did in your life in your younger days and that thing is in your mind have you confessed it to the lord do you believe that jesus christ when he died on the cross took 50:20 the punishment for those sins that you committed and the proof of that is that god raised him from the dead you know god raising up jesus from the dead is the proof to you god saying i have accepted the sacrifice of jesus on the cross for your sin 50:38 so once you believe that you ask christ to forgive you you must believe that he believes that he means what he says if he confess our sins he's faithful and righteous to forgive us now if you don't know that verse please turn with me to one john and chapter one verse nine 51:04 now some of you may know all this very well please be patient because we are trying to instruct everybody in the church i've often said to the elders and other preachers the mark of a good teacher please listen those who are preaching god's word the mark of a good preacher in a class 51:27 in any class in school the mark of a good teacher is that the weakest and most stupid child can understand what he says got it if a teacher can only teach the clever people in the class that's a bad teacher a good teacher is one who can make even the most stupid child in the class understand 51:55 and a good creature of god's word is the one who can make even the most ignorant person in the church understand the truth clearly even if he has to say it 25 times that's what i believe i don't want to earn a reputation as a great preacher who's always preaching different different 52:15 subjects every so every sermon i have no desire for that because that is all seeking honor from men my desire is that the weakest and the most helpless person sitting in the church will understand the gospel clearly even if i have to explain it a hundred times and all the clever people who sit there and 52:37 get bored and saying oh we heard all that you can you can get bored i'm not going to waste my time with you i'm talking to the ones who are foolish and ignorant and weak those are the ones i'm concentrating on always because jesus said he came for the weak and the sinful he did not come for the righteous 52:56 so one john one nine it says if we confess our sins that is our job god is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness i want everyone sitting here to know this one truth please remember this one john one nine if you have confessed your sin to jesus and believe that he 53:23 took the punishment for your sin on the cross it's like paying your debt supposing you owe somebody one lakh hundred thousand rupees and you can't pay it you're so poor but some friend of yours takes the hundred thousand rupees and pays it 53:39 to the person you owe it to gets a receipt from him and gives it to you and says i paid your debt that's exactly one john one nine jesus says i paid your debt to the god the father every time you sin it's a debt every time you sin and we owe the lord hundreds and thousands and millions of 54:00 sins that we have committed and jesus says i paid the debt on the cross here is the receipt for forgiveness when he rose up from the debt that was a receipt from heaven proving that god had accepted his sacrifice on the cross but not just that wow hebrews 8 12 says 54:21 now god says i will not remember your past anymore isn't that a wonderful promise i know it helped me tremendously and i want all of you to remember this and god says i will not remember your past anymore okay let's go to the next thing and that is the second one is god says everybody 54:40 will know me personally you don't have to teach one another the youngest child two-year-old child can go to his father and say daddy it's not only the 20 year old the two-year-old can say daddy all the children of god can know god personally as their father this is the second part of the new 54:59 covenant the first your part past is blotted out so completely that god himself says i will not even remember your past have you heard it have all of you heard it hebrews 8 12 that if you have confessed a sin to the lord the lord says i will not remember your past if you haven't believed it believe it today 55:22 and go away from this meeting rejoicing that god says all the wretched things you did in the past i will not remember it and the second god says you don't have to know me through somebody else god doesn't want you to come to him through a secretary all the big people in the world you have to go and meet them 55:43 through a secretary but god you go directly and say daddy do all of you know have the freedom daddy i want to talk to you there's something i can't understand in the bible i want you to explain to me you can go to your father in heaven and say daddy call him daddy and say please do this for me 56:06 i'm in a bit of a trouble here you can even ask him to help you in your examinations yes if you have studied if you have not studied then of course god's not going to help you but if you have studied for examinations and you go to the examination you can pray lord jesus please help me 56:24 when i'm doing this examination god can help you he's your loving father that's the second thing and the third thing is listen to this in verse 10 the third part of the new covenant the first is your past is blotted out you won't remember it second you can know him as your father personally you don't 56:43 had to go through a secretary you can go directly to god your father and the third is that he will make us have his nature this is wonderful when it says he'll write his laws into my heart and mind that is like saying he will make us have his nature see i told you a dove has got a different nature 57:06 from a crow or a pig that's got a different nature from a cat you see how whenever you see cat it's always licking itself licking itself i've never seen any animal that's so eager to be clean you look at that cat and say there's no dirt on it but it's still licking itself licking itself licking itself 57:23 it's the nature of a cat to be always clean and the nature of a pig is always to be dirty that's a picture of a believer and an unbeliever the unbeliever is like a pig he'll do wrong things and keep on doing wrong things you fight with others and you keep on fighting that's a pig 57:42 you tell lies and you keep on telling lies that's a pig you go on speaking evil about other people and you go on speaking evil you get angry with your wife or husband or with somebody and you keep on getting angry that's a pig everyone who gets angry and hates others is spiritually a pig god wants 58:03 to change you and give you the nature of a cat as it were where you'll always be keeping yourself clean whenever you see a cat and see itself licking itself licking itself say this is how god has asked me to judge myself every day i want to be like that cat judging myself judging myself judging myself 58:20 so that i'm always clean you see a cat does that hundreds of times in a day think how wonderful it'll be all of us christians in cfc judge ourselves many times in a day what a pure church we will have there'll be no conflict or strife in any home and all of us will have wonderful fellowship and love for 58:40 one another that is judging ourselves and it says here god says he will give us his nature when he says he'll put his law into my heart that means i'll have that nature in the old testament the law was in a book you read the book and he tried to keep it but now the lord says i'll put that nature inside you 59:00 so that it's like the nature of the cat coming inside the pig and all of a sudden you find the pig is becoming absolutely clean and licking itself and nature has come inside that is the miracle of the new birth and the miracle of the holy spirit filling us 59:20 so this is the true christian life because very often christians think the we are teaching them to imitate the life of jesus no how shall we manifest the life of christ not by imitation yes we follow him but it's a nature within that helps us to follow him otherwise it'll be an acting 59:42 if i don't feel like being like christ but i try to do it i'm acting but it's a wonderful when god puts that nature within us that we want to be like christ we want to be pure we want to forgive others we want to love others we want to humble ourselves isn't that wonderful that is the work of the holy spirit 1:00:03 within us and he will give us the nature of christ to partake of his nature that is god's purpose for every one of us please turn with me to ephesians in paul's letter to the ephesians 1:00:35 he says i'm praying that you will have an understanding in ephesians 1 and let's first of all read verse 4 petians 1 verse 4 god chose us in christ before the foundation of the world 1:00:57 and he chose us to be what to be holy and blameless not before men no no no don't try to be holy and blameless before each other holy and blameless before him his standard is much higher to be holy and blameless before people it's very easy because they don't know our private life 1:01:17 but god chose us to be holy and blameless in his eyes that means according to his standard that's amazing god has chosen us before he created the world here's another wonderful thing that all of you children should know and all of you don't know it that you know that god knows the 1:01:38 future you know that god knows what is going to happen tomorrow next year god knows what's going to happen 10 years from now god knows what is going to happen 100 years from now okay so when you look back 10 000 years ago 100 000 years ago god knew that you 1:02:04 would ask him ask jesus to come into your heart you may have asked jesus to come into your heart you may have asked jesus to come into your heart last year or last week but when did god know about it god did not know about it last week when you asked christ to come into your heart no 1:02:21 god knew about it before you were born long long ago he knew that one day so and so will be born and he will ask jesus to come into your heart isn't that wonderful to know that god knew us it says here before the world was created he knew us and he chose us 1:02:40 before the world was created that we should be holy and without any blame that's a wonderful thing he wants us to partake of his nature that's why he gave us the holy spirit the holy spirit has come within us to make us partake of god's own nature please remember this 1:03:02 christianity is not behaving like jesus christ no christianity is partaking of god's own nature because god chose us before the world was created to be like him so i want you to show you something also in hebrews chapter 13 1:03:26 in hebrews chapter 13 it says here that the lord has said in the last part of verse 5 hebrews 13 verse 5 i will never leave you i will never forsake you that's a very important verse 1:03:46 for all of you to know i'll never leave you or forsake you and therefore we say the lord is my helper verse 6 i will not be afraid what can any man do to me hebrews 13 verse 6 is a good verse for all of you to remember the lord is my helper i will not be afraid what anybody can do to me all of you 1:04:06 children can you remember that jesus is my helper and i will not be afraid of what anybody can do to me please remember that all your life hebrews 13 verse 6 the lord is the reason he's given us the holy spirit is to make jesus real to us that we can talk to him and he listens to us that's how jesus 1:04:29 lived you know when jesus was on earth he would frequently go alone to pray to his father and because he wanted to get strength from the father he was a man like us and that teaches us that we also should take time to talk to jesus or to the father whenever you get 1:04:53 time and you can do that in the middle of your school you can do that in the middle of your office work you can do that early morning i told you early morning when you get up even if you spend five minutes five minutes before you get out of bed just to close your eyes and talk to your heavenly father your 1:05:11 children all of you adults when you get up in the morning before you jump out of bed spend five minutes alone closing your eyes and saying daddy heavenly daddy please speak to me please forgive my sin please help me to be holy and pure and pleasing to you today it's a very very good way 1:05:39 to begin that's how i begin my life that heavenly father give me the power of your holy spirit to live this christian life i talk to god just like a little child i don't talk to god like some big man i talk to god like a little child i'm very happy to speak to him 1:06:00 like that and he's my father he understands me and i want to encourage all of you to speak to god in a very simple way daddy i want to live a pure life for you today i don't want to tell any lies today i don't want to fight with anyone today i i want to overcome her i want to manifest the life of jesus 1:06:20 in every situation today live one day at a time don't try to think of your whole life when you get up in the morning think only of that one day today i want to manifest the life of christ a life of humility i don't want to fight with anyone i want to love everyone i want to forgive everyone 1:06:38 anyone who does any harm to me today i want to forgive him that's the manifesting the life of christ and i want to be good if i can help somebody today in school if you can help someone help them in the office if you can help somebody who's discouraged help them pray like that lord please give me an 1:06:57 opportunity to help somebody today give me an opportunity to do some good to somebody today that's how jesus was always seeking to do good to people turn with me to acts of the apostles and chapter 10 1:07:23 the life of jesus is described in verse 36 you want to be like jesus oh i'm sure all of you want to be like jesus well look at acts 10 verse 36 god anointed jesus of nazareth with the holy spirit sorry acts 10 38 not 36 38 acts 1:07:43 chapter 10 verse 38 god jesus of nazareth god anointed him with the holy spirit and power okay now what happens when a person is filled with the holy spirit and power don't know he doesn't say he goes around preaching or healing the sick no 1:08:02 that is some people have got that gift but it says here he went about doing good that is the first thing and jesus had the gift of healing he gives that to some people but not to everybody but the main thing is he went about doing good remember those five words can you remember that children adults jesus went 1:08:24 about doing good five words jesus went about doing good so i like the five fingers in your hand jesus jesus went about doing good when he was filled with the holy spirit he went about doing good that's a good prayer to begin your day with lord jesus heavenly father fill me with the holy spirit 1:08:44 so that today i can go about doing good to everybody i need that i'll never do any bad to anyone i'll forgive everybody who hurts me and i will love everyone who hates me give me the power of the holy spirit for that and as you pray i'll tell you something day by day if you keep praying that 1:09:05 one day it will become your nature the holy spirit will so fill you that even without praying automatically you will go around doing good automatically you will humble yourself even if you don't hear any sermon on it automatically you'll be pure 1:09:23 and keep yourself from telling lies see this telling lies is another very big thing that children must learn from childhood itself to speak the truth to manifest the life of jesus the first thing in the children is to learn to speak the truth why do i say 1:09:43 that because it says in isaiah sorry psalm it says in the song and psalm 58 psalm 58 verse 3 let me paraphrase it the wicked are estranged from the womb from birth they start telling lies 1:10:08 you know the first sin that babies commit telling lies even before they learn to speak they tell lies have you seen how sometimes some babies they cry as if they are in great pain they're not in great pain they just want their mommy to lift them up that's all they want the mommy to lift them up and hold 1:10:33 them but they will cry as if they are in great pain that is a lie that's how children tell lies by crying when they have no pain because just because they want their mommy to lift them up that is how we are all from childhood it says they go astray from birth telling lies so that is the first 1:10:53 sin the children commit and all of your children must finish with it quickly because there are grown-up people sitting here who tell lies grown-up believers who deceive people tell lies who make false statements to get more money in the office and tell lies to their husbands tell lies to their 1:11:16 wives tell lies to their neighbors started at birth how shall we manifest the life of christ jesus said i am the truth one way we manifest the life of christ is by never telling a lie even if you get into trouble about it supposing you working in an office or a factory you spoiled 1:11:41 some machine by your carelessness but nobody saw you so you can keep quiet about it and when the manager comes and who says who spoiled this machine you won't tell a lie you just keep quiet but you're keeping quiet is telling a lie 1:11:58 because the manager is asking who spoiled this machine to speak the truth means you raise your hand and say sir i'm sorry i spoiled it even if you lose your job it's better to speak the truth god will okay 1:12:48 okay so as i was saying god the first thing you call children must learn is to speak the truth always dear children and all adults also start with one start with the abc of the christian life i will always speak the truth from today you want to really hear about manifesting the life of christ 1:13:14 ask the holy spirit to help you always to speak the truth and not to tell lies always to love and forgive never to hate always to forgive forgive but god will forgive you if you forgive others this is the christianity we want everyone in cfc to have 1:13:42 this is the truth church this will be there'll be such a tremendous power in this church that is more important than standing in the pulpit and preaching to always speak the truth and always love others and always remain humble 1:14:05 don't try to show up the world is full of people who are trying to show up especially in schools don't join them don't try to show up to say that show that you're better than somebody else you know when my children got their results and got prizes i would never keep their prize in the sitting room i would never 1:14:27 let anybody see the prizes they got i would never allow them to show their report card to anybody only the parents see it only the parents must see the report card why should anybody in else know how well my children did in school i would not allow it parents don't allow your children to show 1:14:45 how what wonderful results they got to others because it will make them proud and you're thereby showing that my child is smarter than that other child in this church no i don't want to do that i never want to show that my children are better than anybody else's children these are little little 1:15:02 things where the humility of jesus he never tried to show that i'm better than you he never tried to show i'm a better preacher than you i'm a better person than you never never never but the world is full of people who are trying to show that they are better than others there are preachers who are trying 1:15:20 to prove that they are better preachers than that other preacher that is an absolute shame such people have not understood the a b c of the christian life jesus said learn from me for i am humble of heart jesus never tried to show that he was better than anybody else he lived his life to please the father 1:15:40 my dear brothers and sisters please please live your life to please god alone not to impress anybody this is a tremendous battle i tell you it's a great temptation it'll come to you to impress people that you're holy or good or you want to impress other people that your children are so 1:15:59 holy and good forget it say lord i only want to get approval from you that's all i want you to be happy with my life i don't want to show anybody here that i'm a holy person or a humble person or a good person i want to finish with that that is the devil the devil always wants to show up don't let him come 1:16:20 into your home or into your life so this is what it means to manifest the life of christ we look at jesus he said i read it yesterday learn from me for i am humble and gentle in heart so seek for humility and gentleness in your heart and it is for this reason why we need to pray every day 1:16:44 lord jesus fill me with your holy spirit within it's like saying put on the light and that light will come in from within in the olden days they did not have electricity they had a lamp and when the lamp was filled with oil and they lit the lit the lamp the light would burn like a little 1:17:04 fire like a candle so we need to pray lord fill me with the holy spirit that's like the oil in the lamp then my life can burn with the life of christ we cannot produce the life of christ on our own that is the last thing i want to say before i close you cannot produce the life of christ on your own 1:17:26 you will only pretend to be like christ the real life of christ will come if you ask jesus to fill you with the holy spirit and say lord jesus you produce that life within me through the holy spirit then i will be pure then i will speak the truth then i will always humble myself so yield yourself to 1:17:46 the holy spirit every day and humble yourself see the holy spirit comes to humble people like water i told you once before that when the rain falls you see the water goes to the lowest part of a road if a road is a curved road the water will always go to the lowest place and the holy spirit always 1:18:03 looks around for who's the humblest person here i will go and fill him always seek for the humblest place always seek to humble yourself before everybody and i tell you in jesus name god will fill you with the holy spirit and the life of jesus will be seen through you and you'll be a blessing to many many 1:18:22 many people i want you children to be like that as you grow up in this church i want the young people to be like that i want all of you adults and all you married people i pray that the life of christ to be manifest through you it's possible through the holy spirit pray ask god to fill you with the 1:18:39 the holy spirit remember this illustration the branch in the tree the branch cannot produce any fruit but if it stays in the tree the sap that liquid sap flows from the tree into the branch and the fruit comes automatically that's how the holy spirit can fill us and fruit will come out from our life 1:18:58 please remember this picture all your life okay let us bow our heads in prayer well our heads are bowed in prayer and pray that all that we heard today will sink into our heart and will produce fruit in our life pray a simple prayer say lord jesus children say lord jesus say in your heart 1:19:20 lord jesus i want your life i want you to forgive my sin i want you to come into my heart i want you to fill me with your holy spirit and help me to partake of your nature so that your life can be manifested from within in me not just on the outside thank you lord jesus for hearing my prayer thank you father in jesus name 1:19:42 amen okay thank you very much brothers and sisters for listening patiently to me yesterday and today i pray it will go really well with all of you thank you thank you brother zach for making it very simple and easy to understand i still remember the first time 1:20:12 i heard you for 30 the work of god that it's not imitation or practicing as the lord who comes inside us and works through holy spirit and produces life and thank you for making it very clear and simple thank you for
